as said by @LykosHand, the rules are simple like:

1) You will tell the pokemons I should use to fight a particular gym leader.

2) Then I'll train them and set the moves as per you will suggest.

coz u will be max at lvl 45 and the garchomp is lvl 75.... it will hardly give a scratch.

So may be you need a pokemon with counter and give it a focus sash.
