  1. Omni had been mostly silent for the most part, not really out of shyness, but because the people they used to eat with didn't exactly talk about things they understood. Now, they have many things to say, but they didn't really know when to say it. Either way, they were also busy eating. Omni was likely sitting with most of the people they knew, and even if they weren't, it wasn't as if the swarm's lack of social awareness and keen sense of hearing would prohibit them joining in with the conversation anyways. "I actually like action movies! Sure, I guess they all just run together, but it really wasn't the plot I watch them for. I can't tell why, but I get excited when things explode and people fight. It's all fake, but they usually do it so well that it actually looks more fun than real combat!" "Uh, plus people get hurt in real combat!" Omni hastily added.
  2. Omni had been watching everyone else, so much so that he had forgotten he was supposed to introduce himself. The slime boy was just looking around and smiling until he realized it was his turn. "Oh! I'm Omni! I'm a nanobot swarm! My caretakers found me falling from the sky. I like learning about living beings, and I'm probably going to major in Biology!"
  3. "Well, humans- and humanoids- are the only creatures that use music outside of combat or courtship. I think that's weird and pretty cool!" Omni scratched the back of his ear, probably as emulation of humans than him actually itching, "And you even have an entire science on how to produce sounds that are considered pleasing!" Omni produced a smartphone from his pockets. "I keep a lot of human stuffs on my phone, stuffs like... movies and art, but also music," Omni started going through samples of his music, despite nobody asking him to. He skipped around from classical, folk music, something that sounded techno, and what seemed like the wailing of tormented hellbound souls while a cute feminine voice sang over them in Japanese.
  4. Omni produced a set of papers from their backpack, compared them to the form they were given, the smile which had been plastered on their face for a while now turning into a neutral expression as they ate the papers from their pack. They then ticked Magic, Biology, Martial Arts, Music, and Creative Writing, with Biology as their major. They deliberated for a while on the preferred pronouns and then just ticked Male. Omni handed the form back, and also this would be the point that they noticed that they had stopped keeping their skin pink without realizing. The slime person just let their body return to a transparent blue. Of course, the lack of anything inside save for some surface colors suggested that it was less transparency, and more of their skin bending light around. "I'm taking Music! I'm guessing you are taking it too, right?"
  5. Upon poking Omni one would find that he was pretty solid. In fact, more solid than a human. It was like poking a rock that breathes. “In the same location humans keep them, silly! Well, I don’t need a brain, but it’s much more efficient for me to keep my memories and processing stored in a single place, so that I still function correctly even if I lost some of, uh, my limbs. Of course, it'd be inconvenient if my head was damaged in any way, so I keep backups of myself spread throughout my body that will go active if my head doesn't keep signaling to them,” Omni seemed nervous on the thought of dismemberment, despite being a being that technically was a network of loosely interconnected machines anyways. “I think I’d be learning mostly biology! Technically, I had to redesign myself from the ground up, so it wouldn’t hurt to compare how well I did to nature itself,” Omni thought for a bit, “I was also told that shapeshifters tend to make good soldiers, plus there’s my camouflaging abilities… so I might learn how to fight. I personally don’t like hurting anyone, though… Oh! And preliminary tests said that I can use magic, somehow. It doesn’t come easily, of course, but I can work like a magical artifice if a wizard take the time to enchant me, so magic might be something I might learn too.”
  6. “A human female and a ghost? But they can’t be biologically compatible… how would that even-” Omni noticed that they were starting to flow a little, which would have been fine, but only inside the gate, so they went back to concentrating on looking human instead of thinking about ghosts bustin'. “Well! From the tests they have done, I can assimilate a wide range of matter and simulate most elemental properties…. Except mass, of course. I’m also theoretically able to turn invisible but I have never managed that! I can sort of get pretty clear and blur my outlines, though… My caretakers used to be worried about me possibly impersonating someone and escaping containment, but by the time I gained human level intelligence I was legally allowed to leave if I wanted, anyways… So I never really developed my ability to shapeshift much except to maintain my default form!”
  7. They turned to face Polly, “...Half ghost? How does that work? I’ve met a few ghosts working in the facility I grew up in, but they’re usually dead! I’m a…. Uh, I guess the easiest way to say it is that I’m a mass of extraterrestrial nanobots,” Omni said, “The extraterrestrial part is why they sent me here. To be honest I don’t remember anything about life beyond this planet, Though. My caretakers are hoping that if I learned some xenobiology and spent some time with other people, my memories might come back.” “W-well, it’s better to be covered up than not, though! I was told that people ignore me more like this rather than when they notice I’m slightly translucent,” Omni replied to Blackadder, their hand placed on their chin, “I was told that theoretically, my kind should be good at blending in, though…” Omni looked unsure about the werewolf removing his beanie, but the parka had been making him uncomfortable, so they figured they might as well follow his example. The plasticky coat receded up their neck, revealing itself to have been part of Omni all along. Despite what the slime person’s lack of confidence, the person below the coat was pretty human-looking, with blue hair. They were in a rather utilitarian grey t-shirt, and jeans. They were now barefoot too, so the boots must’ve been part of them as well. “Um, I suppose I should still keep my skin color…”
  8. "Hah, what? Well, I actually like the sun! It's just that my caretakers were worried I'd look conspicuous if I tried to appear convincingly human," Omni said, impying that they were, well, not human, "Although if you ask me, they would've sidestepped that problem if they just let us wait inside...." The mostly-concealed person seemed to... wobble? As they think, "Oh! I'd love to learn more about all of you here, but I was also told that I shouldn't talk much until we get inside and I shouldn't speak so loudly I guess..." Omni trailed off, simply thoughtfully listening to the conversation.
  9. A hooded figure in an opaque parka was staring around at the university beyond the gate, presumably lost in thoughts. He was rather small, but not too small as to arouse suspicion. The voices of the others at the gate startled him out of his reverie, and he turned to join them. “Hi! I’m Omni!” they announced, oblivious to the commotion. They waved his gloved hand enthusiastically. Omni was covered from head to toe in a canary yellow parka, despite the fact that it was not raining. Their face was, at a glance, human enough, though it was mostly obscured by a sanitary mask. Somebody who looked at his face more might see that while his skin was pale, it was not exactly consistent in color, subtly changing in shade. This one, a person might note, was not exactly the best at inconspicuousness.
