    Tip for making great nachos: Don't buy Tortilla chips. Buy a ten pack of Tortillas, cut the whole pack into quarters and deep fry them. The texture is much better than any pre-made bag of chips.

      Corn or flour tortillas? And which brand? I haven't found one in grocery stores I liked because they all have a severe taste from the preservatives. I get mine from literally "The Torilla Factory" down in El Paso because they make and package 'em without preservatives. Or there's The Frontier restaurant here in ABQ that also sells em fresh and without the preservatives.

      I used La Michoacana Flour Tortillas for this particular one, but I'm not sure as to whether or not brand will have much effect on the taste considering that you'd be topping it with meat, beans, cheese and any number of veggies. Possibly, sour cream and guacamole too.
