If you've been keeping up with Generation 8, you might've heard or seen stuff about the new Wild Area. If you're unfamiliar with this, the Wild Area is a big and wide open space that has a variety of Pokemon based on location, and weather.

What is the Reservoir? It's a giant and wide open area that expands over time. Route 4 never had a good design because at the time, I had no idea what to do with it.
One of the only areas that wasn't planned out at all. You can tell that much from just playing through it. So I transformed it into something with substance,
A place you can actually do things in.
What's different?
Well, for one, the place is absolutely massive. One of the largest areas in the game, actually. The path to Akuwa Town is short and simple, but once you start exploring,
a whole new world is opened up to you. I don't want to show the entire map, but here's a little bit of context on how big this map is:
This small snip-it is only about 1/8th of the place.
It's pretty empty right now as most of it isn't even evented, however, I have a lot of plans for this place.
What are the benefits of being here?
Nothing is set in stone as this is pretty early on, but, this is what I have in mind:Everything in the Reservoir has scaling:
- Levels
- Exp growth
- IV's
- Shiny Rate
- Money Gain
Knowing all this is great and all, but how exactly will they scale? As of right now, the plan is to have playtime influence scalings. Although that is the plan, I am aware of how easily this can be abused.
One could just afk on a new file and run into level 80 mons without even facing Valarie. I have a few ideas to prevent this, but I shall share those at another point.
Oh my god.
I was happy enough to know that Gen 8 will be added to V13 but to actually incorporate some mechanics of the wild are onto the game? With little to no resource? BITCH.

Took me a while, but I did it!
I finally finished Pokemon Sword.

Now that I've finished the game, I feel like I can now summarize the experience I had with this new gen.
There's a lot to be said, but I'll just keep it short.

Anyway, I would also like to share my league card! These cards are so fun to do and the amount of customization on it is dazzling. Literally.

Hopefully my character is as stylish as it can be! I tried my best lol. Personally, I look cute imo
Now that everything is settled, my personal thoughts of the sword and shield:
It was fun.
I would be lying if I said it was not. Especially the gym battles! The gym battles are truly the shining aspect of the whole game in terms of story line. The whole feel together with the magnificent gym theme! It was in a whole another level.
Pokemon camp is also one of the best additions to the game. You can literally spend an hour just playing with your mons and seeing their interactions with each other. Heck, I enjoyed cooking curry in this game than in real life.
The Wild Area is SO FUN. When they were revealed in the trailer, I didn't give af about raid battles and I was so wrong lol. It's so much fun especially when you play with friends.
One thing I appreciate in this game as well is that to be honest, they didn't make it THAT easy. I actually struggled with some of the leaders. I don't know if it was just me but they delivered in a way.
Leon was no Cynthia but a step up from Diantha atleast lol. He's like Alder.
I also love how every character is memorable and not just there as a hurdle to win the league. ALL OF THEM are charismatic and has that certain charm. GF did a good job with them.
THIS might be a very unpopular opinion but.... I actually like D-max and G-max. By playing this game, I can see what there were going for this. It's actually a cool mechanic now that I kinda understand what it's meant for. Especially in competitive.
Also, all the galar mons are all A+++ tier. They SUCCEEDED! I love every one of them.
Although there are exceptions.... like the rest of Rolycoly's evo. Seriously? Pure waste of a concept imo.
And Stonejourner? Umm.
Yamper's evo too. I was really expecting a chubby boi. The evo just looked like a failed Manectric.
Standout mons are!! Dragapult, Cursola, Hatterene, Appletun, Perserkerr,
Now, the good stuff is over.
The game is fun, but it is SO lacking sigh. I'm sorry.
The biggest disappointment was the most important to me in every gen, the story. It really hurts to say that, considering they have been doing a really good job in terms of storytelling.
But USUM dropped and it seemed to have continued the trend...
GF had a concept going on with the game and the premise really had a lot of potential. Here's the proper description for it:
Rushed plot.
As I played through the game, I really had a blast experiencing these new and exciting things you see when you go from town to town.
But you really just can't ignore the mishaps. Cutting corners was still apparent, you can see how much content was stripped to make up for like, everything else.
There were so much parts that felt and I'm sorry to say this but... lazy.
It just bums me out because at the cost of cutting the dex and now that I've played the game myself, GF just didn't make up for that.
I still have post game to do and of course I know that SwSh still has more to offer other than the story, but still.
Maybe Reborn, Rejuvenation, Desolation etc. had set my standards pretty high, but it's 2019. Why should we NOT expect a BOTW Pokemon? Is it really that impossible?
It was clear that they decided to not focus on the story for this one but the other stuff like balancing competitive and the wild area.
Pokemon, stop releasing a game every year. You clearly don't have the time. Nobody asked seriously.
Anyway that was my two cents and thank you for hanging around my ted talk.
Post game stuff is left and I have Shield to play as well.
I also snagged that PS4 bundle from black friday so I am STACKED with games and I'm losing my mind omg.
Can the word "work" not just exist for the time being.
How are you guys doing with the game? Is it a good idea to shiny hunt? From what I'm seeing, it sounds like = torture lmao

SWSH COMES OUT NEXT WEEK 
We're pretty much on the dawn of the final week guys. Only 9 more days till sword and shield and what a ride has it been.
I just remember when I first saw the trailer at freaking 6 am in February and now we're here. Time has flown so fast..
I also would like to share that I decided on getting the dual pack! Yes we going
broke lol but no regrets! This is my first time getting both versions so I'm pretty psyched. Although there were disappointments, I still feel that it will be very worth it.
Also with the help of the leaks lol, I have pretty much formulated my team for both
Part of the reason I wanted to get both versions because I want to use as many mons as I can because they're all cool. Also yes, I wanted to battle Allister too and other version exclusives that may happen. There seems to be a lot this gen! I'm pretty happy.
Anyway I hope when the game drops we will be all posting our journeys here on the forums! It's fun sharing the experience with others. I'll be here all the way.

FINAL THOUGHTS:
I still don't like the starter evos. Sorry but they could have done better. I will definitely learn to love them as a
lwaysI did with past starters but just designs alone, Sobble's and Scorbunny's are like Emboar and Incineroar to me. Neutral feelings.Other than that, everything else they've nailed it. Almost every single one of these new mons are FIRE. Holy crap. The ONLY mon I have problem with right now is the rolycoly line. I just don't understand why they ditched it's orange eye design on it's evos. Just why? I', still hoping that it changes back when it blinks or something. Yeah, I'm really, really liking what I'm seeing right now and I can't wait to try all out.
The Galarian forms. They. are. CLEAN oh my goodness. Meowth???? I hate the fact that it's so spoiled this gen but that form!! It's one my favorites right now
Now the dex cut. It's kinda like the most controversial thing right now so I won't dwell with it much.
The dex contains 400 mons. That contain's about 100 less than what I expected.
Since I won't be spoiling myself with anything (especially story-related stuff) anymore, I just want to be blown away by the content. That's all I'm asking. Give me 1000+ worth of playtime plus postgame lol. It's just really about the only thing they can do to make up for the whole thanos snap.
I don't think I will be disappointed, cause I'm pretty sure SwSh will be the really great. I've been excited ever since the first trailer showed in February. Then again it's GF so...
One final wish please: A+ STATS for all these mons PLEASE

Perhaps they are much better or decent in motion rather than standing still, Felt like it's been like this since gen 5 and onward...
I really hope I’ll eat my own words soon, I really do. But I just can’t bring myself to like these designs right now. I’m sorry that it might seem that I’m pushing it cause obviously we all had visions on what their final evos were gonna be, so disappointment was obviously going to be met. However.... can they have not think or conceptualize of anything else? Why make them so humanoid? There were so many paths they could’ve taken with their evos. Heck I’ve seen fanarts that are WAY better. Seriously. Sigh.
Hopefully the cycle still holds true with this gen. I’m just really underwhelmed.

So apparently, what actually happened is that some dudes from Mexico got the game early and decided to leak everything. One chose Sobble as starter, so we got their final evos already.
Another leaker got the strategy book early, so the other shots were taken from that.
.................. I literally can't process everything I'm seeing right now.

So yeah pretty much it happened AGAIN since we are closer to release date, it's inevitable at this point that someone will leak the game nonetheless.

To be honest the only thing that made the core games hard was the level cap. By making the exp share “always on”, they might give room to more creative ways in raising difficulty like say, raising EV’s.
It’s not a problem truthfully speaking. Or maybe I’m just saying this cause I recently played Octopath Traveler and the grind on that game is just..... jezuz. Yea get rid of it forever. Jk

There has been multiple interviews with GF lately and we do get a handful of info. One thing in particular that I like is the possibility for a decent postgame for once!!! A long, that too!
Or maybe just wait for Eternatus' version....
I also liked the one part in said interview wherein Masuda stated that "Let's Go's difficulty influenced SwSh". Though it's hard to believe at this point, we are *crossing fingers

This is kinda making it hard to choose a starter now cause I love all three of em... 🥺I’m also curious on which version you guys are getting! I was originally picking Sword but now I’m thinking if I should get the double pack since I want to experience both versions this time (it will be the first for me!). I’m still undecided.
