  1. "A Digivice huh? Well... if we could find one we could study it. Do you know the coordinates to your world? If we ever went there in the future, we should have gotten them. We could go there, find one of these things, and figure out how they work"

"Spontaneous formation huh. How rare is that? I would love to witness it and get some good research data out of it. Might help me make better AI considering...."

Whatever he was about to say is left unsaid as he trails off. Trying to avoid giving out TO much information.

"Maybe research tools to, scanners and stuff for gathering data."

  2. "I see, So how exactly can you increase in scale again so that you won't have this problem when you gather more data? Do you move through Cyberspace often? Were you like, our Cyberspace roaming hacker spy?"

"Im not sure what you mean by neither, but as for how far you went back, Leo and I have basicly JUST got here. We got summoned, spent two days in some Australia place, before spending almost a week protecting another place from a siege. Then we got back to the ships and have spent some time working and waiting for another mission."

  3. "Why would you have to make a choice like that? Going in I get, not enough space. But why would you have to shed one on the way out? Your magical knowledge should be the same as any other memory, skill, or stored information right?"

"Personal question, were you born, or were you made?"

  4. Leo removes the shackels, and takes a seat, beginning to use shape solid to twist them back into the previous form.
Once the spell has taken hold he, without looking up, decides to move to questions not directly related to time travel and the imp's attack

"So, What are you anyways? Ive never seen a file with a .Mon extension, and you pulled yourself out of Cyberspace without killing yourself. What DID you have that got Cyberscoured anyways?"

  5. The far future huh. Sounded like this universe hopping adventure group was going to be a thing for a while.
"That's still pretty vague, but I suppose I can make do with that for now. You don't have to worry, sitting around and doing nothing aren't my style. Now then, If I let you out of those things are you going to stick around and behave?"

  6. "Alright thats a start. Now context please? Some sort of sacrifice for a battle or something. Doesn't sound like me, I have golems for that."

"Look, I have no intention of causeing some mass death event, or treating someone like a tool to be discarded and thrown into the flames. I would very much like to gain a clear understanding of what the problem is, so that problem can be corrected. Just be honest and calm, and I'm not going to hurt you. And I won't let him kill you either."

"You, 'Overheard' something right? What EXACTLY was said, and what was your response?"

  7. Leo takes a moment to take in what just happened.
"Alright, well then. Why don't you start from the beginning. What exactly happened? It will be easier then stubbornly staying quiet and will get things resolved much quicker."

    Leo taps his head.
"Lets see...sometime in the future, your part of our group....and considering your magic, I taught you. You heard something you didn't like and decided to run off, even going so far as to cast yourself adrift in time."
He moves over to the bed and leans in close
"That USB drive. It may as well have had my finger prints all over it. Those Flip Gates. Tell me, Did I make that, Or did you? Apprentice."

He we reaching a little bit. But hey. If he was right, he was right, and if he was wrong it would at least prompt a response.

Snow groans, amazed that Alan has yet to catch on.
    "He's a time traveler Alan."

  8. "Are you sure about that?"
Leo holds up one arm and puts on his best "Trying to look sweet but is actualy fucking psychotic" face, and channels up some agony lighting to dance around his fingers menacingly.
Snow rest her head in her palm internally sighing. Was he actualy trying to bluff a timetraveler that probbly knew him?

"Leo I don't think thats going to work."

  9. Leo now sitting down in the bus while the Imp laid in bed attempted to get something intresting out of the data stream going through the gold core he had fashioned for waking up their mysterious guest, but nothing was really clicking.

Mana testing the flower the party was resting on had failed. Though in the process of trying to wake up the .Mon he had found it seemed to resist the cold, (But not heat) so he learned something.

Talking to Alan, Leo learned where he got started into the magical programs he was using, and upon learning that his Cyberdeck wasn't properly working and showing all of the magic, helpfully gave him an upgrade with some of the cloudstuff he had found, and little bit of platnuim. And of course a good dose of spellwork.

    Spoiler

    (64) (98)

The result is a Standard Cloud Golem Core, of Extreme Malleability

and a Superb Platinum Golem Core Chip

    (15, 19) (61) (15) Integrating them into Alan's Deck, it... works?

Alan's Cyberdeck can now detect and manipulate raw mana. If Alan suffers a corruptive effect, the Deck suffers the same effect.

After working in the cores he proceeds to add an enchantment for better scanning.

    Spoiler

    (20, 12) (5) (55)

Alan's Cyberdeck can now attempt to scan a spell, storing it in memory. The spell must either be deleted, or offloaded into a large grounded computer installation, before a new spell can be recorded.

"There, You'll need to experiment, but this should help."

  10. Leo sighs
    "Alright. Whats going on here?"
He taps his foot for a few moments before something clicks
    "Time Travel... Great."

It was the most likely explanation though he was not quite sure if this was actualy time travel. Technicalities. The Drive, metaphorically speaking, had his finger prints all over its enchantments, and was made of a substance that shifted and twisted through time. Requiring an enchantment to hold it in the 'present', which Leo disappointedly noted had ceased function and destroyed the drive, once again reverting the object to an ever shifting fragment. The Fragment must have been made into that drive sometime in the future, and, being that the fragment shifted through time it eventualy shifted into its future state, and became locked into the present because of its enchantment....

Huh. That posed intresting questions about what happened to the data. Could you use this to make time clones of things for practical purposes? Questions for later.

But if this Creature? AI? knew him, why did it attack? Did its damage compromise it's decision making? Or is it an enemy?

That aside, The flower had intresting things to say. He would have to discuss this with Nader.

"Hey, I think this guy here is from the future. A vision or prophecy might help. What do you think?"

As he speaks, he moves his grip on the creature to be with only one arm, and uses his other to reach around and press a bit of ice against the back of its neck.

  11. Leo vaguely acknowledges Nader's concerns and threat with an "Hmmmm mmm" As he finishes his shackles. He returns Snow to her proper place, and as soon as the creature is healed, he puts the shackels on its wrist and lifts it up into his arms, holding onto it as he steps onto the flower, moving a way from the bus.

Looking around Leo notes the whole place seems pretty empty, and a quick test of the spell the imp had used reveals how it blasted its way out of the USB

    Spoiler

    (12, 😎 (33) (97)
    Leo learns "Breach".
This spell creates a mass of mana with a solid handle, which will travel to the nearest magnet, lashing out at anything between it and that magnet, and dragging anyone holding on along with it. It can even do so in extraspacial directions.

It is a messy, simplistic spell. Easily a 5th the length of common Wizardry Spells. The mark of Magecraft.

Regardless, there were questions that had to be answered.
Leo gets a firm grip around it, and gives it a gentle shake.

"Hey. Little guy. Wake up. Ive got some questions for you."

  12. "Not a binding for his wounds, A binding for him. Need to keep him from attacking again"
Leo picks up some gold, and, turning it over in his hands, realizes its far denser and heavier then it should be from what his sight is telling him.

After muttering a spell over it, he holds it in his hands as it slowllyyyy is made to reshape itself. Molecules being rearranged at his command.

"Gold Warped into a 4D shape...Intresting. This should do fine..."

    Spoiler

Consider it done, after a long and painful waiting period of Leo having to fight his way through a Dense, Supremely Magically resistant material.

  13. Spoiler

(19, 19) (9) (13) Leo is able to tell that the imp creature is Cyberscoured, the transition from Cyberspace to Real Space has shredded it's body as data that can't manifest materially and cannot be absorbed into it ceased to exist. This is unrelated to the injuries it had previously, which he can only surmise came from it trying to fit it's entire body onto a small flash drive.

Leo rubs his head, dropping his Corona as his sight returns. A quick look over the data his scanner sent back shows at least some of the problem.

"The Little guy is hurt pretty bad. On top of its previous wounds, its suffered Data Scouring in its transition."

"Nothing is left in the USB to restore to it. The only thing in there is moment.exe"

"He needs healing. Ill see if I can't find something to bind him"

  14. Leo groans as he recoils from the flash and kick before planting his feet firmly, Eyes watering, barely opening and closing as he tries to see again. He needs to NOT take to much damage while blinded, so he focuses his body energy and starts emitting force to protect himself as he draws the starfury. His computer switching into shield mode.
    "Hnnnggg...CORONA!"

  15. The figure of Leo's avatar raises its hands.
Leo speaks, allowing his voice to be processed and translated into data for the avatar.
"Its alright, we just want to talk. Why don't you tell us whats going on? Your injured aren't you? Please tell us what happened."

  16. Leo runs various checks on the substance, But gets little back, aside from the fact the data is to some extent anomalous in nature.

    Spoiler

(2, 8 ) (65) (22) The substance is a total unknown. The only thing for certain is that the data is slightly anomalous. No part of the data indicated behaves the way it should, based on what is gleaned from it.

    "Curious....Not entirely unexpected."
He proceeds to check of the clockwork and finds that it likely moved this data upwards. Was this stuff supposed to be here, or was it some kind of malware or corrupt code?

    Spoiler

It... seems to be working? The giant gears could have easily carried the anomaly elsewhere inside the clocktower, judging from the empty spaces in the gearwork.

Obviously the trail would have to be followed, so Leo began to ascend the tower. There didn't seem to be anything around here anyways.

  17. "Sure, help me build this...."

With the help of a USB splitter, And the combined efforts of Snow, Leo, and Alan, a simspace is soon created for interaction.

    Spoiler

    (7, 10) (81) (18)
A simspace is created, taking on the properties of the Moment.exe program, visually, it resembles a solid gold clock tower, filled with empty bookshelves and blank books. No visible representations of the WaveImp and T39MPF.pol files are visible at first glance.

"Nothing immediately obvious...Lets connect and see if we can't find anything"

Leo lays snow down on her side and ask her to project 3D maps, and diagrams of the simspace, while he himself brings up multiple screens on his computer. The full color one gets a direct visual representation, from the perspective of a simple avatar he will create, while the holoscreens display various charts and lines of code.

  18. "Its running the programs on its OWN core. And she's interfacing with it through a sandbox anyways."
Snow starts to project her avatar out of her "Eye" projector.

"Polymorphic data is a self evolving, adaptive type of data usualy created through magic. Acting like a living organism many AI use it to allow flexible and controlled unpredictable behavior. Though I myself use specialized hardware instead."

"This is strange though. Its enchantments are showing signs of my own work, but I never made this to my memory. Its concerning that it's started poking at you. We could be looking at an AI. Can you create a Stimulatory space in the sandbox, and try to establish communication?"

"I can try. No promises I can get the programs interfacing with it"

  19. "Im Leo. And yes."
He holds up his sword, which has a Golden, Glowing, USB stick shoved into its pommel. A robotic Eye like thing is staring forward.
"Snow is currently accessing it through a Sandbox"
    "Your welcome by the way"

"The USB itself is running three programs in its core as part of the background. A file type I don't recognize, a Polymorphic Data file, and an Executable."

  20. Leo using some soil and a bit of the coal Tim gave him, creates small golmic implants for the small monster, to keep it alive.  One healing it and keeping it functioning, the other making soil out of magic to feed it.

    Spoiler

    (27) (4) The cores allow the creature to survive, though it rapidly becomes soft and crumbly. It won't endure blows, if it were somehow capable of surviving them before.

    "Well that should do...Lets see...."
Before he can finish forming a new idea he spots something faintly glowing off in the corner. Moving over to investigate, he picks up a USB stick made of Gold. Its not to hard to tell its Golemic in nature.

Twirling it in his fingers he mumbles over it, "Well now, where did you come from?"
    "Snow would you-"

    "Already on it....Sandbox Ready"

Leo plugs the USB into Snow's port, then brings up a connection on his computer to check it out with her.

    Spoiler

(19, 15) (76) (19) The USB Drive contains three files in it's contents.

    Spoiler

    WaveImp.mon
    T39MPF.pol
    Moment.exe

The USB is itself running the programs in it's Golem Core, in the background.

Leo pokes his head out of the bus and tells frostbrute to go tell the party he found this thing.
    Just in case.
