  1. Sorry if this is unrelated to your mod, but what mod is "PokemonField.rb" and what does it to? It seems to be breaking some things with the game. i.e. I just got to the first Rift Gyrados fight and it wasn't in its Rift form. It was just a regular Gyrados. After removing that mod, the game seems to be working properly now.

Edit: It was also allowing me to use HMs outside of battle without even needing the HM, so long as I had the badge to use it. e.g. I beat Venam and was able to use Rock Smash without needing to acquire the TM first or having any of my Pokemon know it.

Edit 2: Nvm, found out what it is. Seems the QoL Pickup Mod isn't working for 13.05.

  2. Ohhhh I see now. I was wondering who the other guy was in Oceana with the boat when I started up a new save. No offense to you but I personally think it's a little cheating to have the forms and other really good mons (such as Rookidee) accessible so easily after the first gym. It's only a personal gripe, but I'm still very appreciative of the hard work you've put into this mod! I'll still be using it, but I'm probably just gonna debug them in when I reach appropriate areas and events of the game instead of going to HQ.

  3. The spreadsheet really helps with team planning and such, but one thing I will say is that the locations stated in the spreadsheet aren't very... clear. The description for the Reborn locations are fine, but the ones for Rejuvenation aren't very coherent. e.g. Hisuian Zorua and the alt form for Minccino are located in Sapphire Mountain Grass, but I have no clue where that is. I also can't find sapphire mountain anywhere when googling or looking it up on the Rejuvenation channels in discord.

Hello all, I've been a fan of Aephiex's Ash-Greninja for years and Ash-Greninja ever since I watched that one anime episode (you know the one). I wanted to have a team in reborn that all had a transformation gimmick (mega, primals etc) or something close to it. I tinkered a bit with modding for the first time and was able to replicate Aephiex's Ash-Greninja mod for E19! But not fully.

The mod I've awfully scrapped together now has a 50/50 chance to create a Battle Bond Froakie, which will keep its ability till its final evo. Upon KOing an enemy, Greninja will mega evolve into Ash-Greninja with base stats and all.

However, I'm not too sure if the Water Shuriken base power increase was done right, and the number of times hit should be 3 but I couldn't figure it out so if anyone could help me understand that, I'd be very grateful. Through my testing, there weren't any bugs but if they come up I'll try my best to figure those out too. I definitely didn't test it with the field effects but that shouldn't be a problem.

Ash-Greninja sprites were used from the original mod.

EDIT: Fixed ultra beast related bug.

EDIT 2: Fixed an exp bug regarding passive KOs.

Thanks for updating the mod in Aephiex's place! One thing that has previously been mentioned by other users is that the sprites don't seem to change after Battle Bond activates. It's still the default Greninja sprite but the stat changes seem to be functioning well enough. No issues with field effects so far but I've only been in a handful of battles lately with Ash Greninja.

Ive played through Insurgence and I have about 60 hours on reborn. If anyone has any fan games that they'd like to recommend im dying to play a new story. Thanks

For you, and anyone else looking for some new fangames to play, I have one that I adored playing and, still to this day, regard as quite possibly the best romhack I've ever played. Yes, it's a romhack, but it's surprisingly very well made. The Pokemon Ruby Destiny series, 3 games in order: Reign of Legends, Rescue Ranger, and Life of Guardians. Life of Guardians is, imo, the most well-made, and features A LOT of replay-ability with having 4 (or even more, idk) different endings based on the choices you decided to make throughout the game and the paths you decided to follow during certain events. But Reign of Legends and Rescue Ranger are not to be overlooked. Reign of Legends isn't the most well-polished, but it's got a neatly fleshed out story that carries over to both RR and LoG. Rescue Ranger is actually interesting, being a PMD sort of game using a Pokemon Ruby rom, so imagine a PMD game with main series gameplay mechanics. All-in-all, probably the best romhack series I've ever laid my eyes upon. If you're up to play some romhacks, these are definitely worth the time. I know they aren't fangames, but they deserve to be mentioned.

  6. So I'm trying to finish the Narcissa quest and I'm at the point where we head to Darchlight Manor in the present to fight Dufaux. However, everytime I tell Narcissa that I'm ready to go, she keeps saying "You should take care of any unfinished business first." I'm not sure what unfinished business she's talking about. Does anybody know?

  7. Note: Do NOT use Debug Script if you have not completed all of V11. There are certain cutscenes that will crash your game if you're using the Debug Script.

    Spoiler

One such cutscene is when you just fought of the 2 Bladestar Grunts where you find Ryland and the guy on the hoverboard comes through a portal. Once he "takes you on a trip", the cutscene shifts back to the library in the Scholar District in GDC, and there the game will crash.

Also, if you are in a battle and either side uses a move that does not affect the opposing side's Pokemon, an error message will pop up. It doesn't crash your game, but just a note.

  8. Not sure if this has been reported yet, but I just downloaded the Community Release version of E18 and when I was mining I found this. It's a very minor bug, and it could possibly be due to the mods I have installed (though I doubt it considering none of them affect the original script in any way), but just putting this out here.

And this type of shit is why I tend not to like time travel stories. If there's an infinite amount of universes and these choices are gonna be made by another player/Melia no matter what I pick, it makes the whole thing seem inconsequential. If the original world would be fine because some other player/Melia would return there then I can just as easily say that me choosing to stay would doom that 3rd timeline that the 3rd player/Melia abandoned to go back to the OG timeline. So one alt timeline is getting doomed no matter what meaning I might as well take the better timeline for myself.

Your entire argument is basically that I should only focus on saving the alt timeline because that's the one I happen to be in at the present moment and some other player/Melia from another timeline will deal with the others. There's no guarantee that they will or that I won't create a paradox by not going back. From my understanding, the only reason the player and Melia didn't disappear already is because of the talismans Tiempa gave them. That implies that the world we came from doesn't exist anymore so I am actually dooming the OG timeline by not going back. That is why I am skeptical about your claim that it would be fine no matter what I pick.

I never said you should only focus on saving the alternate timeline. You made your choice, but I'm just stating a counterargument that you're not entirely screwing over one timeline or another by making different choices. You state your claim, I'm stating mine. And we're not given enough information on the talismans received by Tiempa (or rather, Tiempa in general) to understand how it works. It could very well be the way you perceive it as or another, which may or may never be stated in game.

Now, I don't want this argument to drag on for too long so I will admittedly say I am a coward and will now run away from this argument without any excuse. I could very well be wrong, but we never know how things truly are until they are stated as facts. Good debate, I bid you good day.

So the old timeline still exists even if you change the past and then never return to it? The original timeline you came from is the one where you went back a 2nd time and let Vivian do her incomplete spell. That means if you never return from the alt timeline, the OG would never come into existence in the first place creating a paradox.

Even if we ignore that, I assume the player and Melia still have important shit to do in the original timeline. Things that would save it from disaster which they wouldn't be able to do if they stayed in the alt timeline forever. And the OG timeline has many more people so again, that's the correct choice if your goal is to save as many people as possible.

And if you want to play the alternate universe game, going back to stop yourself from stopping Vivian could create yet another new alt universe where you save another

however many million people from the catastrophe. Either you create the OG timeline by going back or if the OG timeline is unaffected by your decision, you create a new timeline saving even more people.

There isn't just two timelines. Based on how this game goes, I'm going to assume it follows multiverse theory where there are an infinite amount of universes (which can also equate to an infinite amount of timelines) as well as how each universes can be created based on choice. You say choosing to never return to the original timeline will screw over the original timeline, however that would not be the case. In that scenario, another universe(timeline) would be created that which follows the events of the player and Melia never returning from the alternate universe at all (pretty much the give the crystal to Melanie choice). The original timeline requires the player and Melia to be present and follow through the events of the game in order to move forward, so staying in the alternate universe forever would not get anyone screwed over in that timeline, however it would rather just stop that timeline all together until the player and Melia return. However, since there are also multiple universes for the alternate future as well, then the player and Melia staying in the alternate future forever would not screw over (or stop) the original timeline either since another player character and Melia will appear from a universe where they did escape the alternate future and continue the events of the game instead. So even if you stayed in the alternate universe forever, the original timeline would be fine.

I understand that's probably what Jan was getting at but I still think it's a very poor way of phrasing it and most people would not interpret it that way unless they already knew what each choice did. Even you said (albeit jokingly) that you selected the 3rd choice to be trollish without actually knowing what it meant and I've seen other people also select it for completely unrelated reasons. If you're expected to make it a choice, your options should be very clear and then you can see the consequences of that decision. It shouldn't be: "pick A, B or C and then we'll tell you what you picked". Especially since you're meant to be Melia while making the choice and she should know what she herself is thinking. It shouldn't be a mystery.

Also, I disagree that choosing to escape makes you look like a terrible person because if you think about it logically, going back to the original timeline saves millions and prevents the catastrophe so it actually benefits both you and the world. It's the correct choice and I stand by it.

Uh, technically it does make you look like a terrible person because it dooms that timeline, and each timeline is its own universe (clearly as shown by the cutscene that occurs after returning to the original timeline if you chose to Do Nothing). Going back to the past in the original timeline and undoing what caused the creation of the doomed timeline (which is what I'll call the timeline where the future is all destroyed and stuff) will not get rid of that timeline nor will it change it in any way, it simply puts Melia and the player character back on the course of the original timeline.

Yeah, it's just as @trailflare7 said, you get a key near the tables outside the tournament building. This, I believe, is the key for a locked house where you get the power plant key. I haven't played it for more than a year, so, yeah, bad memory. As for trading, there is a link stone you get near addenfall entrance (3rd gym place) from the old man. For further link stones, I guess you can go to the cellia mart in the last lane of buildings. It sells evolution related items. You can refer a post in Page 71 of this thread which has info about most sidequests if you need help in any.

Yeah, I dunno who combined the posts last night but I didn't write the last part, I already knew about Link Stones.

And I did look at the side quests and didn't happen to find any relating to Deino.

  13. Anyone know where and how to get Deino?

You need to get into the locked room of the power plant and use rare candy on your magneton. You'll get the key in a locked house near the tournament building after defeating rosetta.

Which house? Cause I just beat Rosetta and I have checked every single house around the tournament building. And the houses that held the other trainers in the tournament are all still locked.

Is there any trading system? Can you evolve pkmn that would normally need trading?

For those that wanted to know the secret puzzle, the order is:

    1. Put Black Shard Ore in the furnace

    2. Gold

    3. Purple

    4. Green

    5. Blue

    6. Purple

    7. Purple

    8. Red

    9. Green

    10. Blue

    12. Red

    13. Take out Black Shard from furnace

    14. Blue

    15. Purple

    16. Gold

    17. Red

    18. Take out Black Shard from furnace again(this step is not explicitly revealed in the notes)

    19. Put the shard in the machine

For those who are curious, the reward is a Dark Material. You can also perform the steps above over and over again to farm Dark Materials.

    Good Day 🙂

I have tried that 5 times and none of the times they have worked. It doesn't give me Dark Material (I've already done the Darchlight Mirror puzzle), I'm not even able to do step 13 or 18 because when I go to take out the Black Shard it doesn't even give me an option. It just says "Take out Black Shard Ore?" without any option of yes or no.

There's one hidden around the gym in akuma town, idk if that's the one you're looking for.

I'm looking for the one that got moved from outside Akuwa Town (the little island that you had to surf to) to somewhere else because the Orphan Guide hasn't been updated for v10.

It got moved to the Amethyst Depths, the part where you have to use rock climb to access.

Okay, this is a late reply but I went down into Amethyst Depths and into the area that requires rock climb and the last orphan isn't there. Are you sure they're in Amethyst Cave?

  17. You're able to use Magma Drift before you get 7 badges, even though Melia says you need 7 badges in order to use it on the field.

If you get the Golden Drift Board at 6 badges, you're still able to use Magma Drift. Haven't tried it at 5 badges (dunno if you can go back to Gearen until after you beat Crawli or not), but regardless this is either a mistake with the dialogue or a bug that needs to be fixed.

I will also include my save file for people to see that Magma Drift does not require 7 badges. This may also lead to skipping a bit of the story as well if anyone here tries it.
