  1. Exile So that was that huh? Just blast through, so much for surprise, so much for caution. Who knows what lay behind each wall, what trap or snare, how awfully dreary, a game of chance is fine but a blind and of all things, fair toss of the coin? That's boring, there's nothing to influence, no puzzle, no challenge, it's just there. Hmph! What a pain! Conjuring an illusory lance of energy, stands aside and manifests the spell, driving it into a nearby wall while standing to the side just in case something fun was on the other side. Like an ambush. Or a trap. Or... okay yeah it's really just those two.
  2. Exile An illusion? That could make sense, it'd be awfully hard to evac through an entire maze after all, not without shortcuts. But with long hallways like that, all it'd take was another cannon, another trap, and they'd all be dead~ "If it is, what should prob~ably check t path we came in on, see if there's any passages or traps~!"
  3. Exile "Hiyee~! Gypsy's dead. Ice and Anemone are wounded. Ansuz was critically wounded but evacc'd before we could finish him off. What's new on your end? Have you decided to settle down and raise a family? Who's the father?" She pauses for a moment, another loading icon appearing above her head. "Also! Ansuz's mech appears to be an energy cannon with overwhelming power which can be amplified using these lens thingies! Low rate of fire, seems to lock before firing giving a chance to dodge (I'm expecting they'll try and fix that) doesn't seem to have too much in the way of mobility and defenses, but he did repel an attack using some kind of rune. Figured you'd wanna know."
  4. Exile - Teleporter Room A curt nod and Exile follows, the illusionist's mind elsewhere, not that to say such was to say much of course. A cursory glance over the facility map, a quick inspection of the teleporters, no dice. No obvious vulnerabilities right now, nothing jumping out just yet. Well, wouldn't be fun if it weren't a challenge, right~? Still if that crater was anything to go by, area denial wasn't an issue this group was deficient in, and with interspersed and she could only presume, normally heavily fortified teleporter relays, they'd likely be able to blast their own facilities to create chokepoints as needed, not a nice prospect, especially not when the gloves are off as they would be now. They really needed to ask Merlin more about Ansuz and this group, get all the facts and pieces in place.
  5. >Exile as DPS Wow, we're really scraping the barrel here aren't we. Sure hope the home team will be able to keep Ice from just murdering Charity to death.
  6. Exile - Atrium Crater Exile peers over the edge of the crater, a safe distance away from the precipice of course, gaze and focus haphazardly jumping across everything before her, and a few things that were not. "Figure stuff out of course~! See that crater? One rune did that. None of us found it in time, and I was even looking for it and everything! Careful as we are, we've set some off, and now Ansuz won't be playing games, he'll be going for our throats. Can't take that risk now. We need a better way to find them, or jam them. Something cheap and easy, like a liquid or a vapour or something, spray and forget. Otherwise it's going to be slow, too risky, and someone else, someone else could die... Also I wanna mess with their conduits and stuff, see if I can't disconnect or modify them! That's more for funsies~" She begins estimating the the distance of the crater, trying to figure out whether she had enough power to bridge the gap be it with an actual bridge or a rope, and whether or not she could teleport across. "Betcha we could cut our way through a buncha rooms and circle around this. Or circle around the whole facility and take the Mega Star Cannon entry point!"
  7. Exile "Amelia. Her mech looks kinda like one. Melee. Very high speed. Poor defenses. Anyway~ no I'm not crazy, unfortunately for you~ and no I'm not off my meds either!" she takes her communication set and follows. "If you see a rune, tell me! I've some experiments to run."
  8. Exile "Annie's right, we need all the manpower we can get! We've got allies still in there and we need to regroup with them!" "You!" she bounds towards Sense, practically lunging at him, her face drawing uncomfortably close, uncomfortably quickly towards his own. "What's your name? What can you do? I'm Exile, that's Fedora, he can do illusions, I can do a bit of that and a bit of conjuration; are you good with bears? Are you good with beer? Are you good with animals that are like bears? What about glowy shield mages and hula-hoops?"
  9. Exile Exile definitely didn't look like she'd mind seeing as she's jumping around waving excitedly at his approach. "Hiya~! How've you been? Was it fun? Did you make any new friends? Did you find out anything about what's going on here? Anything interesting~?" She tilts her head and a blade appears inches from his throat. "What's your name? What's my name? My real name? What were your orders? What were the team names? Which team were you on? Which team was I on? What did you say to me last night? What was the first thing you asked me this mission? What was my response? Why were you captured? When's our anniversary? Where did we first meet? Oh and to answer your question, she's probably gonna bawl her eyes out when it's over. Gypsy's dead. Ansuz was mortally wounded, but someone retrieved him, don't think it's the last we've seen of him!"
  10. Exile A touch, a tap. A girl's hand pats Merlin on the shoulder before offering her a freshly shifted handkerchief. For once, the look on Exile's face was tired, weary, forlorn. She'd probably know better than to believe it, she'd probably know better to think much was going on behind that mask. After all, Exile was hollow, empty. Sorrow, at least sorrow as others would know it, was beyond her, as were most things. She had lost a game piece. A valuable one at that, and perhaps one she considered as valuable as her own life, but a piece is a piece, and her life too was nothing more than a piece, a token on some great gameboard that existed only in her mind. And if anyone was going to understand that, then it'd be her teacher. Still, to Exile's credit, it wasn't an unconvincing act. If it weren't too much a strain, if it weren't too difficult, she leaves an illusory rose by where Gypsy had departed, and left Merlin's side without a word, eyes scanning over across her allies and the facility behind them.
  11. Exile For once, Exile was actually sprinting like a normal person, well a normal person with all the benefits of mobility spells at least. If Charity's still looking exhausted, she makes sure to drag her along for the ride if possible.
  12. Exile Well that was unexpected. How exciting~ Hmm... field could be weakened, it had to take two of Ice's attacks, and if it's a mech field like the firepower and cannon suggests, it's completely failed. Unless he turned it off? Ooh, that's a thought, interesting, but probably not something he'd think of. Not in this state. How dissapointing. If they could just shatter that arm, shock should set in quickly, though the damage is done already - Anemone's wounded, Ice is crippled, Merlin looks kinda dead, Charity is probably going to be the center of a lot of friction later, and Fedora guy's still missing. Possibly a hostage, wouldn't that be neat~? First thing's first though, can't solve a puzzle without all the pieces, and someone's firing a death ray at one piece in particular. Exile generates a wave of shimmering force, one right up against Anemone's side. It's not too intense, that'd be too risky, but it should be enough. When the beam comes, she phase-shifts it, aiming to assist Anemone's dodge.
  13. Exile Exile's vision bounces up and down across the room watching everything but the beam. The beam was nice and all, it was flashy at least but it was terribly dull. No, there were far more fun things to be on the look out for~! Like runes! Maybe Natasha (hehe~) still has his wit's about him? With an entrance and beam like that who'll still be paying enough attention to see some traps~? And what better trap was there, than this entire room? A killing chamber baited with Natasha himself. He may only care to flail about at Merlin, but what about his employer? They probably aren't too keen on all of them barging in like that, and surely they're not just going to bet on him besting his own master, right~? That'd be pretty dumb, right~? They haven't even seen any of the employees here, but all their expensive stuff was here, so they probably didn't abandon it, unless they only had a short time to run... but that's just boring! No! If she was going to think about something, it's going to be something exciting! Like beams and bullets tearing through the flimsy barricades and the bodies of everyone in this room! Ooh! Or the entire place being rigged to blow! If any room had a self-destruct, it would be this right? "You know... it'd be pre-tty weird if they trusted Ansuz to beat all of us alone! Think there's a death squad waiting for us outside~? Ooh! Ooh! What about a capture-and-vivisection squad?" Prancing over to a position so that any fire coming through any of those flimsy walls won't hit her, she projects an illusion on the other side of one of those walls, an illusion of an intact wall.
  14. Exile A blade of energy flashes into existence in Exile's hands as she sees the opponent, the adversary appear. And as Merlin unleashed her barrage the illusory weapon twitched as if with excitement, until... "WAIT!" "His name's Natasha?" She begins giggling. She begins laughing. Rolling around in hysterics as if it were the funniest thing in the world as her now phase-shifted blade fires off at a chaotic angle, the burning energy streaking into one of the walls of stone.
  15. Sorry! Was meaning to post but then finals cropped up and everything just slipped my mind when I went to update my own games.
  16. Exile - Team Mega Star Cannon - Hallway "So! How do the squiggles work? Can we wash them off? Paint over them? Break the connections?" That all-too-familiar lightbulb icon flashes up again "Oh! Can they be selective? How do people working here avoid setting them off? That'd be really really annoying right? Just minding your own business and boom! Magic cage! Think it's something on their uniforms? Like a badge? A tag? Maybe we should find someone and steal their clothes? They might have fun stuff in them! Like a knife!"
  17. Turns out there's a better way to upgrade your gear that just those threshold bonuses. Sachi's equip have the Escalating Power Quality that increases their dice size (weapon) or RES bonus (armor and bauble) (so basically it moves its benefit up by a weight class without increasing the weight) once for every two of her own levels. Those boots are still sorta iffy if they require turn handling to be interrupted while waiting for player input to resolve. From the Blizzard seems fine to me, though whether or not it's something you want depends on your kit. The more influence you can milk out of your first strike, the better. For instance, characters like Mitsurugi who deal bonus damage based on damage dealt last turn would benefit most from this Perk since it basically gives their ramp-up a better starting point. Those RES boosts look fine to me, though since they don't scale with any stats, you're going to have to regularly pump points into them to make them remain relevant.
  18. Dimitri Kuznetsov, 26/38 con = 4; res = 2 + 5; dex = 0; itl = 8 + 1 + 1; //+1 from Diabolical Machinations str = 6; syn = 0; //Fragarach IV has 3/5 cooldown remaining //Fragarach has a Threshold of 7 and will arm in 1 turns Sealing Gel II. Heal all party members for INT (= 10) HP.
  19. Dimitri Kuznetsov, 38/38 + 8 BP con = 4; res = 2 + 5; dex = 0; itl = 8 + 1 + 8 + 1; //+8 from Favor Boost +1 from Diabolical Machinations str = 6; syn = 0; //Fragarach IV has 5/5 cooldown remaining //Fragarach has a Threshold of 7 and will arm in 3 turns ((Assist on Hiroki. +INT/3 (= 6) to her SYN for this turn, ignoring initiative order. This raises her SYN to 16, raising Unleash Hell's total damage to 56.))
  20. Violent Recompense II on Samuel (Inflicts Remunerate (Allies targeting the victim with a negative action may reduce any of their current cooldowns by 1, including the action they used to trigger this). 2 Duration, 3 Cooldown.)
  21. Dimitri Kuznetsov, 38/38 + 8 BP con = 4; res = 2 + 5; dex = 0; itl = 8 + 1 + 8; //+8 from Favor Boost str = 6; syn = 0; Somewhere, concealed within the swarm, four drones appear. They were small quadcopters, each built around a pair of rails and sensors, each readying to cover their master. And within Panopticon's own capacitors, power begins to build... /** * Select an ally and a “threshold”. * When that ally is attacked by a foe for damage that crosses the threshold or which would otherwise reduce their HP to 0, * deal 6*INT damage to the attacker. * This is considered to have occurred prior to the triggering attack and not performed by the user. * This is not considered to be a buff, and thus effects such as Steal and Dispel are ineffective against it. * This comes into play 3 Turns after being set. 5 Turn cooldown. * @param {&Object} - The target to apply Fragarach to * @param {unsigned} - The activation threshold to use */ Fragarach(&Dimitri, 7); //6*INT Damage is 6*17 = 102 ((Fragarach on Dimitri. Threshold is 7.))
  22. Izumi seems to just wipe her face and the nanites, or at least their effects, were gone. Sealed away inside her weapon's magazine. She considered trying to reason. She considered trying to raise her voice. What purpose did fighting serve now? Their objective was complete and without a doubt, the guards here would never have to hear of them again. The guards whose ranks they decimated prior. What they had stroven to protect too was gone. They had made sure of that. They could leave right now and it would all over. It was the rational choice really. But looking into their eyes, she saw only herself staring back. Of course they weren't going to let them get away. They had invaded their country, slew their allies, and massacred their people. There was no stepping back, even if meant death, even if it meant treason. She of all people ought to know that. Purge Casket on Izumi. Remove Lesser Blind.
  23. Let's see how good that shield is, his shield and maul, versus Izumi's shotgun. She draws her weapon, flipping off the safety, and charges. Tempest Bloom II on Shield Guard B. This inflicts Overwhelm with a Duration of 3 Turns and a Cooldown of 3 Turns. Overwhelm reduces the victim's RES by the user's DEX (=9).
  24. Dimitri Kuznetsov, 38/38 con = 4; res = 2 + 5; dex = 0; itl = 8 + 1; str = 6; syn = 0; Dimitri walks forward and behind him, a cloak of metal unfurls. Plating shifts and churns allowing cylindrical capacitors to rise from the curved surface as exoskeletal limbs extend as to support the extra weight. Angular armor, modular and camouflaged locks into place over the man at its controls. And from behind, a swarm of machines scream into the air, thrusters flaring around their spherical shells, energy relays and the particle cannons within shifting and locking into position as to cover every conceivable angle as they blanket the skies. He couldn't power them all. No way, no chance in hell. He simply didn't have the power to run all of their weapons. Not even half of them. Maybe 10%, tops. But that was enough. He didn't need to fire them, not all at once. Just the ones that were relevant. And which ones those were, his foe could not know, just like the gaze of a panopticon. Favor Boost. Double Intelligence.
