    You think that maybe they didn't release Final Fantasy VIII on the Nintendo Switch because Square is planning to reveal it along with Squall Leonhart's reveal in Smash Ultimate?

     

     

    The leaks say "A Square Enix Rep". It's not necessarily going to be Geno.

     

     

    Or could it be that They were only releasing Final Fantasies 9 onwards, and Final Fantasy VII only got selected because it's, well, Final Fantasy VII. The most popular thing Square ever made.

      They probably had emulation issues as I recall the FFVIII iso being buggy and the whole dance crash. Sorry to burst your bubble of Squall being in Smash but that is VERY unlikely considering the massive rep library SE has.
