  1. I have a character, but haven't played at all lately due to schoolwork piling up. Back when Nexon had a hold of it I was working on a Soul Reaver as my main and had a few sub characters.
  2. Ken's eyes widened slightly from their perpetually relaxed state upon hearing Charles's tale. He was actually a bit shocked at what he'd just heard, he needed a second to process it. He didn't think Charles's was lying at all: In all of his years living in Heartland, Charles was a pretty honest guy... if not a bit secretive sometimes... and a bit of a womanchaser. But that wasn't the point here. The fact alone that it took him so long to spill meant it was bothering him, and that was reason enough for Ken. After all, it's like his dad told him when he was younger: If a person seems troubled, you help them with that trouble. Although Ken always privately added "As long as it doesn't interfere with naptime.." to the end of that statement. So after going over what Charles just said in his head, Ken finally spoke after about a minute. "It's okay Charles. I believe you. You're right in that it sounds farfetched, but if it's bothering you this much, then I doubt it was in your head. I am a little curious though about what you said last. A duel between a kid and the professor ended with murder? Who was this kid?" Ken asked, a slight edge of curiosity in his voice. If someone was able to beat a professor at dueling... he kind of wanted to face him himself. Maybe a change in routine was nice once in a while...
  3. (Important Action) Ken smiled: He was glad Charles was opening up to him. Offering the man a cookie from his seemingly endless supply, Ken spoke in a reassuring voice. "Charles, your secret is completely safe with me. I swear to the candy queen herself." Ken said, pulling out a Madolche Queen Tiaramisu from the extra deck on his belt and holding it gingerly between his non-cookie hand. "No one else will know. So what's on your mind?" Ken said, smiling. He may have been a lazy guy who really hated to put effort into things, but if one thing was for certain, Ken was one of the best secret keepers in Heartland, in his own opinion. Although this was partially because he was too lazy to even recall what was told to him most of the time ( a fact that showed on most of his tests: He was proud to be a solid B- student!), but shhh.
  4. So, does the person who encounters the Ice Queen lose all their memories including of the "At School" topic too?
  5. (Important action) Ken sighed. Charles obviously wasn't going to open up... but he really didn't want to lose the only lead he had. It would be less effort to just leave and forget about it, but... maybe a little bribery could work? "Charles! Look, I'm not going to outright force anything. But I'm worried, alright? If you talk to me about what's going on, I'll offer free Sugar King sweets for a month. And I won't tell anyone about what happens here, okay?" Ken said, hoping that would get a response. "It's just between you and me, and then you can put it behind you for good."
  6. (Important Action) Ken's eyes widened slightly as Charles just brushed past him and retreated inside, locking the door. Even for Charles, that was wierd: Not once had he ever seen the normally nice man act so odd. He had to admit, he kind of didn't want to just let this go, he was curious. Reaching for another cookie and slightly chewing on it, Ken knocked on the door and raised his voice, confident that Charles would be able to hear. "Hey, Charles? What's the matter mate? You're not normally so jumpy and uh... cold. Lemme in and let's talk, okay? I'm not going to do anything to you, okay?" Ken asked, wanting to ease Charles's mind.
  7. God yes, that game was absolutely beautiful. My C9 boys are back in style.
  8. (Important action: Ask about Tenjo) Ken blearily woke up from his nap as he heard the hum of a motorcycle come towards him. Waving at Charles, he got up and walked towards the man with a grin, offering him a cookie from his seemingly never-ending supply. Sometimes, one had to wonder if his bag was just a hammerspace for sweets. "Hey Charles! I actually was. I was at Mr.Takeda's earlier delivering some cookies and he said you might know something about the death of Tenjo? I don't know if that's true or not, but a lead is a lead. Do you think you could help me out?" Ken said, sheepishly rubbing the back of his head. How did it come to him actually investigating this? Normally he'd say screw it and spend the day taking a nap or baking... Although he supposed that it wouldn't hurt to shake things up once in a while.
  9. I won't be posting either. Ken's napping! No sense for him to be startled awake before Charles gets there. ( Also homework to do today, but meh. ^^; )
  10. Ken looked at his watch after seeing the note Charles left. " 7 PM... that's not too far away. Plus, it gives me a little time for a quick catnap." Ken said, grinning as he parked his scooter down in front of Charles's house and proceeded to close his eyes and wait.
  11. Oh no, keeping up with recaps is no issue at all. Just informing you all of my decision to fly solo for a few days, interaction-wise.
  12. (Important Action: Head to Charles House) Ken stood around for a second to think. If he was looking for Charles, then he doubted he'd be home... it seemed too early for that after all. He knew about the riding inventor and had made contact with him a few times, he was a nice guy. The whirring of a motorbike did keep him up sometimes when he neared Sugar King though. And personally... he wasn't a fan of going to The Bootleg. The owner was an alright person, but... Ken really hated the smell of alchohol. Too bitter. He'd definitely prefer to check in there last if he could. That left Heart Park... also the furthest option of what Mr.Takeda said. ... Heart Park was a long ride on scooter. He COULD also go to Charles house and wait there for him. That would require less effort, and give him a bit of a break. To Ken, that seemed like the best option. Searching with breaks. He could go to Heart Park from his house if Charles wasn't there. But honestly, he hoped he was. Snapping back to reality, Ken smiled at Mr.Takeda and yelled a quick "Thank you!" He then turned on the spot and ran straight out, blowing right past one of his classmates.. he'd apologize later if he saw him again. Ken then hopped onto his scooter and started on his way to Charles's House.
  13. I told Jakler that I'd be busy until spring break started ( This friday), so I'm doing solo things until then as to not bog anyone down. Posting now.
  14. (Important Action) Ken smiled warmly at the old man who he had known since childhood. As he gave Mr.Takeda the cookies that his dad had sent him with, he was about to turn to leave: After all, he liked his deck as it was and didn't need any new cards at the moment. Before he could though, something clicked in his mind. Takeda's shop was close to where the professor was found. It might have been a bit of a long shot, but... "Actually... I was wondering." Ken said slowly as he set his D-Pad back to non-dueling mode. " You know I'm a part of the late professor Tenjo's class, right?" He asked before continuing on. "Wasn't his body found close to here? Did you happen to see anything funny?" Ken asked curiously. He'd leave the investigating of the body to the police, he wasn't part of some sort of investigation team or anything. But a small part in the back of his mind was just curious about the whole incident, even if he didn't want to actively do anything.
  15. (Important Action: Ken heads to Takeda's Card Shop) "Crap, crap, where did I put it... don't tell me I left it in the classroom..." Ken muttered to himself, rummaging around in his bag as he sat on top of his scooter. He was obviously looking for something, but what? "Found it!" He said victoriously, as he pulled his D-Pad out from his bag and slipped it onto his wrist. The tablet section was a simple white in color, and as he slid it on, the D-Pad extended and folded out to reveal that it looked... completely ordinary. He wanted to upgrade or paint it, but he really just hadn't had the motivation to do so. Too much effort. He'd get around to it eventually. "Just in case I run into anyone who may want a duel..." Ken said to himself as he made sure it was snugly on as he put on his helmet and headed towards Takeda's Card Shop. He'd hang out with classmates later, but first he had errands to run.
  16. Just so you all know, Ken's dad is just a plot device to get Ken to do things, cause otherwise he'd have barely any motivation to look into Tenjo's death at all. Will change later on in the story, but for now. Character development!
  17. Ken yawned sleepily as he got up from his desk and left the school. He didn't really need to be home right away, so he figured he'd take the day to roam around the city. There was a lot of mystery surrounding Tenjo's death, but looking into it seemed to require more effort than he was willing to put in at the moment. At least on his own. As he was wondering what to do for the rest of the day, his thoughts were interrupted by a buzzing in his pocket. His cellphone. Swiftly picking it up and putting it to his ear, the sugar prince spoke sleepily. "Hello? Oh. Hey pops." Buzzing could be heard from the other end, obviously Sukkar senior was telling him something. "Alright, alright. Got it. You gonna be alright at the shop on your own?" Ken asked, followed by more buzzing. "Yeah, okay. I'll see you later then." Ken said as he hung up and shoved his phone back into his pocket. Apparently, he would be running errand boy today. His task? Go to the local card shop and deliver cookies to Mr.Takeda, who the family had known for years. That would have explained why he baked more than usual.... oh well, he was sure he still had plenty left. Heading to where he parked his scooter, Ken got on and prepared to head to the card shop.
  18. (Arial and Zander) "Alright, later!" Ken said to the retreating figure of Arial as he turned to Zander. "Well, I don't know about you, but I think I'm gonna catch a few winks before the bell rings again. See you some other time, Helios." Ken said as he put his deck box into his pocket and returned to his desk, eager to get his nap on.
  19. (Arial and Zander) Ken grinned as he pulled out a Neapolitan deck box. "Crystal Beasts and Cyber Dragons, huh? Fitting." Ken said with a small laugh and opened the box as he took out a green card that depicted a giant castle made out of sweets surrounded by a bunch of different monsters and showed it to the two. Madolche Chateau. "As for me, I use Madolches. Sugary and sweet to their core." Ken said as he slipped the card back into the box and looked at Arial, flashing another smile. "And it's fine! We don't talk all that often, and I don't really care too much about fashion, so I guess we're even." He said, sticking his tongue out slightly. "But the name's Ken Sukkar, son of the owner of Sugar King. Nice to formally meet you. And thanks for the compliment." Ken said, flashing a victory/peace sign.
  20. Assuming it's what I think it is and locks down a certain summoning... not many. If my assumption is wrong, no idea! ... Also, I love how Snatch Steal lasted a single format. XD
  21. In most cases, no. There are VERY few ways to avoid Karthus ult. It locks on on top of you and just blows you up. However, some of those few ways are (Correct me if I'm wrong, I hardly ever fight Karthus): Zhonya's, Bard Ult ( Timing reliant for both of those ), and, although not avoiding it, stacking shields for days. The others could probably help more than me, I'm rather rusty. ^^;
  22. (Arial, Luna, Zander) Ken let out another beaming smile as Arial partook in some of his sweets, saying she used to be a patron of the shop. "Hey, thanks! I don't think I remember you coming in actually, but I didn't actually start working at the store until I was about 10 or 11... the same age pops said he could trust me baking without burning the entire store down." Ken said with a bit of a forced laugh. He knew he was being a bit of a salesman for the store, but he couldn't help it. It was how his dad and him made livelihood. Plus with all the big chain stores, a lot of people didn't go to the local sweet shop anymore, they were losing out customers to them. He'd rather play the act of annoying cookie-pusher than lose the shop. Not only that, but since they lived above the shop in an apartment, they'd be out of a home too. And on a more vain and less depressing note, he honestly felt like nothing else could hold a candle to the family sweets. But before he could get too lost in thought, he heard a certain comment. Ken tried to keep his composure. He really did. But it all went flying out the window a la Lane at Luna's comment and Zander's broken bravado. He had to set his almost-empty tin of cookies down onto Arial's desk to keep from dropping them all and went into a minor laughing fit. "Pfft hahahahahahahahahahaha!" Ken... well, not really said, but more like exploded into laughter. A few moments after his laughter died down, he looked at Luna and grinned. "I like your guts, that's hilarious! Especially his face after." Ken said before taking a look at Zander and grinning. "No hard feelings though mate, I'm just poking a little fun is all." Ken said before taking a look at Zander's cards and brightening up... well. If Ken could be any brighter, anyway. "What kind of deck do you run? Figures that I've known you for years and still haven't seen you duel once." Ken said with a laugh.
  23. I spy with my little eye, a blatant Persona reference and Adachi & Dojima 2.0. I have a feeling Ken and Adams will get along quite well. xD
