  1. Hi there,

after a longer break I picked up Reborn again to further prepare for E16 and need some help on two Movesets.

The first would be Clefable. Since both Calm Mind and Stealth Rock are unavailable in E15 I'm not quite sure what would be best, to stick with the defensive build or to go for a more offensive variant.

    My ideas so far were:

    Defensive:

    Calm / Magic Guard

    252 KP / 172 Vert / 84 SpVert

    - Cosmic Power (instead of Calm Mind)

    - Moonblast

    - Moonlight

    - Flamethrower (because no Thunder Wave)

    OR

    Offensive/Tank:

    Modest / Magic Guard

    252 KP / 252 SpAngr / 4 SpVer

    - Moonblast

    - Moonlight

    - Flamethrower

    - Chargebeam / HP Water / Grass Knot

The other thing I'm not quite sure about is what to take as the 4th move on my Serperior.

Right now it has : Leaf Storm, Giga Drain and HP Fire.

  2. How fast do you need to be to outspeed Amber's Typhlosion and Rotom on Intense? My plan was to use my Greninja with Mat Block (Init 169) so my Heliolisk can set up Rain Dance but both Rotom and Typhlosion are faster.

  3. I need a little help. I finished the Kristilinie Town quest "Research" and got the hint about a secret in Narcissa's gym. The only thing I found so far was a statue in the battle field room were she says something, but that's all. I have searched the gym and cannot seem to finde something. I don't want to be spoiled, I just need a little hint or something.

  4. I'll admit I used the debug menu to teach a couple moves that I could've gotten through breeding, but it would've taken a lot of work (episode changing, chaining through a bunch of pokemon)

Didn't even know there was a debug menu. With the given IVs, should I go for timid or should I keep the modest nature. Since you get a *2.25 damage bonus on crits with Sniper, some extra speed would not be bad.

  5. Sniper and focus energy is a fun set. Give it a scope lens and then with 1 setup turn (FE) you have 225% damage that will ignore and defensive boosts they have or offensive drops on you. Swift swim set is better as part of a rain team rather than a standalone

Well, since I don't play a rain team, that would mean Sniper would be better. The standard set on smogon uses Focus Energy and Agility but 2 boost moves sounds a little unpractical. How did you get Ice Beam on yours (assuming your sig is your current team), as far as I know unless you revert to an earlier episode it should not be possible. (Btw. would my Kingdra with the mentioned IVs suffice or should I breed a new one?)

  6. As the title says I need help with my Kingdra. Until now I played a Raindace Set with:

    Modest @ Life Orb

    Swift Swim

    - Rain Dance

    - Surf

    - Dragon Pulse

    - Icy Wind

I like Kingdra but somehow it feels a little lackluster. As far as I know there is another set with Sniper and Focus Energy. This could be interesting since I would be free to give the Life Orb to another Pokemon. Which set is more viable in Reborn? To be honest the IVs are not the best (4/30/29/27/26/21) so breeding a new one would be an option, but only if it is worth it since Link Stone are limited in the game.

  7. Indra should be better exp-wise, because of his Pokemon having higher levels. The problem I have with Indra is, that most of his teams are quite strong so you are more or less forced to use the Exp-Share instead of a Lucky Egg. I usually use Indra with the Exp-Share to get to a level high enough so I can fight at the Grand Hall with a Lucky Egg and then use Indra again for the final levels.

  8. Just as a little tip, for example for future gyms. If you give a Pokemon with Acrobatics a Flying Gem (can be bought at the Department Store) it'll consume the item before it uses the attack, making Acrobatics even more powerful (the 55 base power gets a 30% bonus and is the doubled because you no longer have an item).

  9. I have a Beldum with quite good IVs (HP 29 / Atk 26 / Def 28 / Sp.Atk 28 / Sp.Def 20 / Sp 31) and I'm looking for Togepi and/or other Mystery Egg Pokemon you cannot find otherwise in the game, IVs and nature don't matter.

  10. I know HP Fire on Magnezone is for using it against Steel types trapped with Magnet Pull (mostly Ferrothorn and Scizor in terms of competitive play) but would HP Ground be acceptable, too? I'm asking because I just hatched a Magnemite with 27/26/31/28/14/31, meaning it got HP Ground. I know 14 Sp.Def IVs are not optimal but from what I've read here Analytic is the better choice in-game so I could use some EVs and boost that stat.

  11. What other Moveset could be viable for Metagross? Since both Atk and SpAtk are pretty high maybe a mixed set with Grass Knot? Or a simple All-Out Attacker with max speed and attack? And what about Rotom, unlike Metagross I don't have the slightest idea on how to build it.

(If it helps these are my current Pokemon: Kingdra, Gardevoir, Archeops, Dragalge, Cofagrigus, Arcanine and Diggersby)

  12. So I finished my second playthrough a while ago and now I'm preparing for E16. I already bred a Rotom with good IVs and HP-Ice and right now I work on a Beldum and plan on breeding for a Magnezone, too. The only problem I have is that I don't know how to build them right now. Rotom, for example, can neither learn Will-O-Wisp nor Volt Switch in-game, so the standard build is unusable. For Metagross I would go the bulky route with max HP and Atk with Bullet Punch, Zen Headbutt, Meteor Mash and Agility, but I'm still not quite sure about this. Could you please help me with this?

EDIT: What Beldum would you chose? One with 29/26/28/28/20/31 (HP/Atk/Def/SpAtk/SpDef/Speed) IVs or one with 23/26/28/28/28/31 IVs?

  13. Since I'm through with E15 I've started to raise more Pokemon to have more versatility for the next episode. Right now I bred quite a good Rotom (19/26/24/29/29/31/HP-Ice) but I'm not quite sure how to build it. The only moveset I know for Rotom is the standard defensive pivot Rotom-W, but without Will-O-Wisp and Volt Switch available that's not gonna happen. My next projects will be Dragalge and Magnezone.

  14. Since I'm through with E15 I want to start breeding Pokemon, so the first step would be getting a good Ditto. What is the overall consensus for Reborn, should I reset for one with overall good IVs (I was thinking 25 and above) or one with as much 31 IVs as possible?

  15. I've trained myself a Seadra now, sadly I had no Link Stone when I entered the "No return to the city" part of the game, but it's still a good addition to the team. I'm now about to face Ciel and am training to reach the level cap. While doing so I was thinking of adjusting Giggersby a little. I often had the situation of Take-Down not hitting when I needed it to, so maybe I should replace it with Strength? I also found Hammer Arm and Bounce to be mediocre, so I'll replace them with Swords Dance (like suggested) and Quick Attack.

  16. First of, hi everyone. I've been playing Pokemon Reborn for quite a while now, but just now decided to join here.

I'm currently on my second playthrough and have just defeated Samson. Now I have the problem that none of my mons is able to learn Surf and as far as I recall the next part of the story is quite a long one, so switching out a member for a HM Slave would be mediocre.

    This is my current team:

    Gardevoir (66)

    Modest, Telepathy

    - Calm Mind

    - Magical Leaf

    - Psychic

    - Moonblast

    Diggersby (66) @ Earth Plate

    Adamant, Huge Power

    - Bounce

    - Hammer Arm

    - Take Down

    - Earthquake

    Archeops (66)

    Jolly, Defeatist

    - U-Turn

    - Dragon Claw

    - Rock Slide

    - Acrobatics

    Arcanine (66)

    Adamant, Flash Fire

    - Crunch

    - Close Combat

    - Outrage

    - Flare Blitz

    Cofagrigus (66)

    Relaxed, Mummy

    - Protect

    - Pain Split

    - Will-O-Wisp

    - Shadow Ball

    Serperior (66) @ Big Root

    Timid, Contrary

    - Leech Seed

    - Gastro Acid

    - Giga Drain

    - Leaf Storm

It's quite an offensive team, with Cofagrigus being the only defensive member as a physical wall. If needed Gardevoir can act as a special tank thanks to Calm Mind and its natural high SpDef. As you can see all of my physical attackers suffer from a water weakness, so if I would change my team, I would start here. Archeops should, in theory, be the best sweeper of my team. Sadly when I got him I wasn't paying attention to his IVs which are quite bad (average of 16), so he would be my first choice. Next would be Serperior, who should be a special sweeper, but sadly has very bad IVs on SpAtk (same reason as with Archeops). Since I can't go back to Reborn City right now, my options are quite limited. What would you suggest?

EDIT: What would you think of replacing Archeops with a Swanna? I have a Ducklet with good offensive IVs and nature in my box.
