  1. Actually, if you restore the Railnet, that dude goes to the Pokémon Center in Obsidia and will give you the sticker there. The Lost and Found station doesn't have anything to do with the sticker.

Edit to elaborate: once the city has been restored and you talk to Arclight in the Railnet to begin the raid on Devon, the guy will be gone. The only way to receive his sticker after that point is to restore the Railnet and then go to where his girlfriend is in the Obsidia Pokémon Center.

Seems like a pretty cool mod! I was always annoyed that only the 'basic' evolution stones were available from mining.

Would you consider adding any sort of "ultra-rare" finds? it could be a kind of cool thing to encourage mining once people don't need any of the standard stuff anymore

I'm certainly not against adding more in future updates. I was actually considering adding the type boosting gems in the future. However, as far as ultra rare finds go, what would you consider those to be? I can't really think of anything, to be honest!

You have to have finished all of Ep 17's story (defeating the last gym leader available---16th) before the quest becomes available.

Actually, you can do it before the 16th one. You have to have defeated the first leader in E17, then it becomes available before we have the second one. :)

    Mining Overhaul

an ease of life & content update mod by AiedailEclipsed

Let's dive right in! This mod does a few different things, but its primary purpose was to add the evolution stones (from Gen IV forward) and the fossils (from Gen V forward) to the mining minigame in Reborn. However, while I was doing that, I added in three other valuable (in terms of selling value) items as well! I also went a step further and overhauled the probability values of the mining system, making it a smidge easier to acquire fossils and other useful items. The last thing I did for the purposes of this mod was to create two new "delimiters" for two particular categories of items which will ensure that you can only get one of those per mining round. This mod uses the modular setup that was adopted into the core Reborn code, which makes this mod super easy to install and also fairly compatible with other mods. But enough of the overview, let's get into the nitty gritty!

    New Items Available via Mining

    Spoiler
    • Fossils
      • Cover Fossil
      • Plume Fossil
      • Sail Fossil
      • Jaw Fossil
    • Evolutionary Stones
      • Dawn Stone
      • Dusk Stone
      • Shiny Stone
      • Ice Stone
    • Valuable Items
      • Nugget
      • Big Nugget
      • Comet Shard

    Mining Probabilities & Delimitation

    Spoiler

The short and quick version is as follows:

    • Fossils = 4.20% chance to find*
    • Plates = 14.28% chance to find*
    • Rare Miscellaneous = 6.3% chance to find*
    • Evolutionary Stones = 16.70% chance to find*
    • Uncommon Miscellaneous = 16.72% chance to find
    • Common Miscellaneous = 12.55% chance to find
    • Shards & Heart Scales = 29.30% chance to find

    * = Delimitation, which is just a fancy way of saying that you can only find one item from each category per mining screen. Mixing and matching is possible though! So, for example: you couldn't find a Dusk Stone and a Fire Stone, but you could find a Sail Fossil and a Meadow Plate simultaneously.

For more information on the probabilities for each item, including a listing of the categories, see this spreadsheet. That spreadsheet also lists the vanilla Reborn values so that you can easily compare and contrast the two.

    Installation

    Spoiler
    • Step 1: Download the mod from any of the available sources in the download section.
    • Step 2: Unzip the folder.
    • Step 3: Go to where you unzipped the downloaded folder, then grab the entire "Mods" folder and place it within the "Data" folder of your Pokémon Reborn installation. If you already have some mods installed, you might have to merge the folders.

    And now you're done! Enjoy!

  5. Okay, so the way you get to it is after Rock Smashing the pillar on B2F and it drains the lava pond on B1F, you go up to B1F where the lava pond was and fall down the hole that it reveals. If you still need a screenshot or anything, let me know. :)

  6. ...unless I am both blind and dumb, the guide @Lord Drakyle linked doesn't help. It lists the acquisition by badge and doesn't include "repeated" events (i.e. because there was already a chance to get a starter at the beginning of the game, they're never listed again). So. With that guide, we know that the starters... are obtainable as... starters. Once again, unless I am blind, that guide isn't going to be much help. Please feel free to point out where it shows the starters at though, because it'll be nice to have an up to date resource.

    EDIT: I feel like I came across a bit bitchy. My bad, it's late for me to be up. ^^;;

  7. The easiest thing is to look at the Pokémon Location Guide. The starters are always at the beginning of each section. Some are wrong due to it not being updated for E17 yet, but those are few and far in between. I'll post the ones I know for sure being wrong below:

    Spoiler
    • Charmander - fish in the lava on Pyrous Mountain peak
    • Treecko - event in the refurbished city
    • Oshawott - is now a reward in the Gang side quest (specifically if you side with Magma)
    • Popplio - takes the place of the Oshawott event in E16 (you can use this video to see it)
    • Litten - a reward in the Gang side quest (specifically if you side with Aqua)
    • Rowlett - abandoned Egg in Teknite Ridge (the desert, aka E17 content)

  8. Talk of the Rock Climb area mapping made me curious, so I went back and poked around for areas with Rock Climb:

    Spoiler
    • Beryl Cave (this is, I think, the only area within the city that requires Rock Climb. I might be wrong though)
    • Route 1 (this is actually "done" already at the moment according to the code. The RC stones right by the Iolia Valley entrance and these connect directly)
    • Iolia Valley (see Route 1 above and also the last room with Luna. Technically "done" already)
    • Route 2 (shortcut up to Route 3, various other shortcuts and ways to get around the Route puzzle, so technically "done")
    • Pyrous Mountain (to get to that one TM that's been teasing us for the last god knows how many years -- "done")
    • Azurine Island (another TM hideyhole - "done")
    • Tanzan Depths/Cove (the Larvitar event - "done")
    • Ametrine Mountain (I think this is for the Dratini event?)
    • Celestinine Mountain (shortcut/event blocker thing? idk, I'm loosing energy to research fast here)
    • Citrine Mountain (to round out our mountains, ofc)
    • Ametrine City (technically, it's really more on the outskirts. I don't really have a clue where it'll connect to tbh. If we're to place some semblance of trust in the ye olde map then it looks like it would connect to Route 3/4 or Labradorra City -- neither of the two Routes have Rock Climb paths that support this currently. And of course, we don't know what is in Labradorra City presently soo.. This could be our back door in, so to speak?)
    • Route 3 (Axew egg event - "done")
    • Route 4 (once again trusting the ye olde map [see link above] this would put us in the general vicinity of the Glass Workstation and Suspicious House, if either still exist within the game)
    • Teknite Ridge (I won't mention exactly what it is, given the content is still pretty fresh - "done")

Welp, there's my RPG Maker research done for the day. Happy theorizing.

  9. Hey all! I ended up having fair bit of free time today, due to having to go into work tonight to cover for a coworker instead of my normal time. The result is that I have essentially finished mapping the main Byxbysion Ward worldspace! What remains for this map is mainly some slight detail work, nitpick edits, and such. This brings us to today's development update!

    Development Update #2 - 10/7/17

    100717b.png

Welp, this is it -- this is the bulk of the new mapping that you would be exploring in the mod (well, the exterior maps anyway). I'm sure the keen eyes among you will notice some small changes from previous screenshots, and most obviously, you'll see the rest of the map being filled in! :P As I said above, there is a lot of little detail work and nitpick editing still to be done (please note, that I'm aware there are a few "errors" on the map -- ie the missing railing, the top of the gym sign, etc -- unfortunately, these will have to be fixed by stationary events due to RPG Maker XP limitations). For instance, I've got to put in streetlights and lamp posts on the center and right hand side, recolor the factory to suit our color scheme more, add street signs, fluff the gym exterior with more wasteland detritus, and more.

Some might notice that path that extends down towards the south and past the boundary of the map. I've not quite decided whether or not to go through with mapping that area yet. I don't have a terribly concrete concept in mind, so I'm having difficulty coming up with a purpose for it or even a reason to have it. As much as I like the idea of adding onto the game, I feel it might be going beyond the scope of the mod a bit. In any case, I'm not sure. For now, we're gonna leave that option open and maybe I'll come up with something down the line.

I'm also happy to report that I have concepts in mind for most of the interiors, so I'll be able to go through the interior mapping relatively quickly with any luck. I'm sure some of you might be able to make an educated guess or two for the purpose of each building. Feel free to speculate! Until the next development update goes up (which might be a day or a week or more), I'll confirm or deny any guesses!

    Till next time ya'll!

  10. Howdy hey all! So, to everyone that stopped in and wished me luck and support, ya'll rock! ❤️ Thank you! To address some of the specific questions though... (sorry for the mentions, quoting doesn't seem to work)

@DreamblitzX - That is kind of up in the air at the moment. I'm trying not to be too concerned with the "who, what, when, where, why, and how" of it. I am tinkering with some ideas, but overall, I'm probably not going to plan anything like that until the main area has been finished with mapping.

@V for Vendetta - It's funny that you mention Aya's gym, as that brings us to today's update! Woo!

    Development Update #1 - 10/3/2017

    100317a.png

So, today I spent a fair bit of time doing some minor detail work. Mostly tinkering with the land form a bit, to better suit my needs (read this as: to somehow tetris a functional, organized city into an area not designed for it), doing some small edits to tiles, and creating a couple of new tiles. One major bit of mapping I did get done was creating a basic layout for the exterior of the new Byxbysion Ward Gym. There are some things on here that are going to need work, but that's okay! I'm not rushing. Do ignore pretty much everything outside of that small fenced area though, as I haven't done much of anything with it. I did say I created a couple of new tiles, and you can see one in use right here. It's that double wide cave opening, which is an edit of the single wide cave opening already present in the Wasteland. I was having a fair bit of difficulty with it, but actually posting the picture seems to have cleared up what I need to fix! So, yay for that? As for the other tile I created... Well, you'll see that soon-ish. ;)

Anyway, to actually address your question now V, the exterior changed a fair bit! In interior? Mmmm. To be honest, I haven't really started making plans for interiors yet. As far as Lana, she'll no longer be present directly in the Gym. She's going to have an actual home to be in, so go her! As for changing her dialogue, I'm going to try not to alter her too much. If Ame hasn't added any specific dialogue about her missing/wondering about her children, I'm not going to add any.

Alright, that wraps up today's update! Stay tuned for whatever craziness I unleash next.

  11. Byxbysion Ward

"In memory of what this place was, so that it may never be again."

a content addition mod by AiedailEclipsed

In the Episode 16 release of Reborn, we see Reborn City brought up from its previously squalid conditions and into a bright and shining new era. Well. Most of Reborn City. Arguably the area most physically affected by the machinations of Team Meteor -- inadvertently at that, -- is the Byxbysion Wasteland. It is a festering pit of filth and toxic waste, unable to provide refuge or home to most city residents in a time when they need it most. And during the player's absence and subsequent return to the city, many surely thought that we might see a restored Byxbysion area. Unfortunately, no -- during the development period, Ame did contemplate giving Byxbysion a fresh coat of paint (read: completely and totally gut the place and start over) like the rest of the city, but the effort required would likely have drastically pushed back the release date even further. We can see nods towards in-game acknowledgement that the Byxbysion area is the next major project to be undertaken in restoring the city, but it likely wouldn't be something that we could ever actually get to see. Well, I decided to change that.

What this mod aims to do

To put it simply, I aim to add in the Byxbysion Ward mentioned within the game's files. I plan to do this very, very carefully so that it could hopefully be able to be "dropped" into any current Reborn game and picked up without noticing any in-game weirdness or conflicting with the core Reborn game information. In order to do this, I've "set aside" the last 25 maps that can be created in an RPG Maker XP game in order to avoid conflicts with the core Reborn game for as long as possible (if it may ever happen). In addition, any events that will be created will be leaps after the current Reborn switches and variables. I'm hoping to minimize my impact on the core game as much as possible, in respect for what Ame has created, while adding my own flair and creating an experience congruent with the world it inhabits. I will also only be utilizing previously existing Reborn assets (minor edits to those not withstanding).

What this mod will NOT do

This mod will not add encounters of any kind that would happen before the "canon" location is available to you (ie, you won't be able to find a Scyther in the tall grass or through a gifted encounter). Further along those lines, you won't be able to find or buy items that would otherwise be inaccessible to you within the limits of the current canon game.

    Frequently Asked Questions

    Spoiler

Q: What does Ame think of this mod?

A: When I brought it up, she thought it was impressive and gave it her Ciel of Approval.

Q: When is the release date?

A: I'm doing this in my spare time, whilst working full time, working on my personal websites/projects, and volunteering commitments. It's gonna take some time. If you want to keep track of development, check back on this thread for updates and look at the progress report.

Q: Can you guarantee this won't break my game?

A: Nope. Largely, this will depend on how proactive I am with making sure that nothing conflicts with the core Reborn files. As long as nothing is drastically changed there, there shouldn't be issues that would break your game that wouldn't be present in the core Reborn game.

Q: Do you need any help/assistance?

A: Not at the moment. I'm relatively handy with Photoshop, have a relatively okay understanding of Essentials & mapping, and am willing to learn what I might not already know. I will announce if I need any assistance or help, so please keep an eye out.

    Q: Can I be a beta tester?

A: At the moment, we're pretty far off from a release of any kind. I will make it abundantly clear when the time for beta testing arises and will put out an appropriate call for volunteers.

    Change Log

    Spoiler

The following is a detailed change log to go along with the mod. This is one way in which I hope to maintain the maximum possible compatibility between this mod and the core Reborn game.

    N E W   C O N T E N T - anything that does not exist within the core Reborn game

    • Tile set (ID 99 :: Neo Byxbysion Ward)
    • Map (ID 975 :: main Byxbysion Ward worldspace)
    • Map (ID 976 :: Byxbysion Pokemon Center)
    • Map (ID 977 :: Byxbysion PokeMart)
    • Map (ID 978 :: Byxbysion Ward generic interior worldspace)

    C H A N G E D   C O N T E N T - anything altered within the core Reborn game

    • Map (ID 210 :: Byxbysion Gate) -- widened the entire room, changed furniture to suit new space, moved events as necessary, duplicated the door events to transfer properly to S. Obsidia & Wasteland
    • Map (ID 209 :: Byxbysion Wasteland) -- various tile errors, mirrored the fancy Reborn-esque door from the S. Obsidia map, duplicated the door event to transfer properly to Gate
    • Map (ID 133 :: Police Station) -- added the Byxbysion police station to the existing police station map

  13.

@ the above two peeps, this is the Rejuvenation forum, thus about the Rejuvenation game. Nice try tho. ;)

    1) No, it's not complete.

    2) Yes, it's still in development. v10 is the next release, but we aren't sure how long that might take.

    3) It depends on your play style. If you're very thorough, it could be a long, long time. If you blaze through it, it might not be as long. I personally put around 30-ish hours into and I'm only halfway through.

    4) 7th gen is currently in this release.

    5) No legendaries are available, but we are able to collect Zygarde cells, so we might have one soon-ish!

  14. Something that I pointed out in the chat earlier today/late yesterday (what is time even), is that currently both Tyranitar and Hydreigon are locked behind Rock Climb, so unless we get that, we get neither of those. Unless of course, Ame changes either event (the last Dark Matter needs RC to get to the crystal to get to it & Larvitar just isn't remotely reachable without RC). I suppose its possible that RC is enabled by Titania, but personally I think that's more Hardy's thing.

So, there's my food for thought.

  15. Okay, so I can give a teensy bit of information on this from a fan-game perspective. Basically, Essentials does work for it, but it would require a fair bit of work. If you want a good idea about how a Mystery Dungeon-esque game works, check out this entry to Relic Castle's recent Game Jam (you can also find the resources they used to create this here). I've never been particularly interested in a PMD-style game, so I've never looked into the mechanics behind it heavily, so take what I say with a grain of salt.

    • The PMD-style battle system would be the "big" ticket item to work on.
      • Without coding knowledge, you'd have to do what the project I linked above did -- use the default Pokémon battle system.
    • Finding the PMD-style graphics might be a bit difficult as it just isn't that popular for fan-games.
      • With freely available to use graphics being scarce, you'll need to learn how to make your own or figure out how to get graphics otherwise.
    • Essentials does have very, very basic random dungeon generation capabilities, but it isn't anything to write home about.
      • What I mean by this is that anytime you enter a dungeon in MD, it's randomly generated so that no two dungeons are ever the same. Essentials emulates this on a basic level, but it wouldn't be as pretty unless you improved that system or "hard coded" the maps (ie just mapped a single map for a single dungeon or multiple maps for a single dungeon).

Your friend should also check out a non-Essentials based solution (ie a hack), which the best place to go to get started with that is probably PokéCommunity. I don't even know if there are hacks of PMD games, but that'd be the place to go to find out.

So, to wrap it up, creating a PMD-style game would be a fair amount of work possibly for little return. With the PMD games being relatively niche spin-offs in and of themselves, there has been little demand for PMD-style fan-games. Should your friend want to proceed with working on this, they need to be prepared for the fact that it might not ever get more than an average following or regular players. At the same time, who knows? Maybe your friend will bust out on the fan-game scene and create the resources needed to make PMD-style games more mainstream. I'd recommend taking things slow and working towards the end goal steadily, keeping in mind that it won't be easy, but to have fun while doing it. The best course of action is probably to find other like minded PMD-style fans who want to see these resources available and more PMD-style fan-games.

    Good luck!

  16. Reaper Cloth is not available to my knowledge. I have mine waiting for it too. :(

Mawilite is not available and, tbh, it doesn't really matter. We don't have a Mega Ring/Necklace/whatever-Jan-decides yet to use, so it's not like the Mawilite would be useful. I'm not sure if Jan has even said anything about us getting it soon, so I wouldn't hold my breath.

Forest Field causes moves like Cut, Air Slash & Gale Strike to tack on an extra Grass type to the attack.

Thank you! There's an entry as much for cut, but not Air Slash or Gale Strike. Methinks the field effects guide needs a good read through.

  18. While in Terajuma Jungle, I battled a trainer with a Roserade with my Pom-Pom Oricorio. I was using Air Slash, but kept getting the message that it wasn't very effective? Also, it was only regularly effective against a Morelull when I did a bit of testing. I checked the field effect guide, but there was no mention about flying moves being nerfed on the forest field, so it's a bug of some sort I'm guessing?

EDIT: Also tried against a wild Gloom and Oddish. Both say it isn't effective. What even.

  19. Regarding grinding: you do know that the rebattleable trainers in the Great Hall are now available as soon as you beat Team Meteor in Mosswater, right? You get the added bonus of being able to build up quite the sizable cash reserve.

According to Gen 7, lillipup is supposed to learn psychic fangs by breeding. If so, which item is it??

As long as you have a male Smeargle with Psychic Fangs (as a Sketch'd move) and a female of the Lillipup line, it should receive Psychic Fangs as an egg move.

edit my starter was a axew

    Spoiler

It is randomly set at the same time as the mystery egg choice, so at the beginning of the game. No matter how many times you reset, it'll still be the same.

Basically, the way it works is that if depending on the type of starter you pick, you'll get an egg from the type of starter that you are strong against. I chose Popplio, so I'll eventually get a fire type starter. Jackpot starters will always get a Fire type starter because... programming and Jan's game design decisions, I suppose.
