I feel like the Beamer Grid should be talked about more.

Considering what happened in Episode 3, I think it's very fitting. Desolation has a habit of shitting on edgy villains as is. Quite excited for this one since it seems the two main characters are those we know so little about.

Especially considering the mystery around Tristan as it is - it could be something important.

Dreams and their meaning are a recurring theme in Desolation so I was thinking - what if the actual world of Desolation is itself a dream? IIRC, Caz mentioned he was inspired by Inception, which suggests a 'dream within a dream' scenario. This could explain inconsistencies within the game that for some reason Caz hasn't changed - perhaps they are clues, that the dream hasn't been made to be perfect. That whoever controls the dream, like Nova wants to control her own, makes mistakes in their craft and can't keep the players indefinitely fooled. Mysterious characters like Shiv, who always seem composed, may already understand this which explains why they aren't afraid - because it is all a dream. The game also has impossible blockbuster moments such as Ava leaping from the clouds and somehow surviving - moments such as these are that of fantasy, perhaps the fantasy world of the one creating the dream. Furthermore, perhaps it is Shiv who controls this dream, which could explain how he is able to freely teleport around it and seemingly control it - as though lucid. Nova may also be in control of it, which would explain why Shiv and Nova fight for a seemingly unnatural power that the player has no part of. Just my thoughts - let me know what you think.

I wonder if we'll see more characters like Tristan in the future. I have a feeling we will as the game gets darker, which will definitely happen. The question is, how dark?

I understand that you're adding in custom Mega Evolution's but when will be able to use them? Will you be adding in the Mega Bracelet earlier that what was planned or...?

Hey does anyone know how many "Pieces" are available in the current build?

I just wanted to offer my thoughts on this game, if you don't mind. I've played through Insurgence, Reborn, Rejuvenation, Zeta and Sweet so I at least feel like I've played enough fangames to critique. Gameplay: The gameplay is quite solid. The amount of content you put into one episode is impressive and the Rangers Quests and Credits are particularly great additions. There are some bugs, but it seems that you are quick to resolve them. The encounter rates could use some tweaking and some Gym Leader's, particularly Tristan, should have their difficulty edited somewhat. Asides from these minor gripes it's a very solid experience, fun to play. Art/Graphics: I myself don't weigh graphical detail to be particularly important, but still. The artwork in this game is well done and is a definite improvement from the games roots. Your mapping in Episode 1 sometimes feels dry, but the mapping in following Episodes, particularly your most recent work, is of very high quality. The spriting is well done too, although I feel that Connor's portrait and Ava's spriting is still somewhat a WIP. I hope to see a selection of custom trainer sprites in the future for general trainers. The story of Episode 1 seems very much a warm up. Although offering a good experience on its own, it serves very little in the overall plot asides from introducing the characters. I suppose this works, as you're easing the player into the world. The story of Episode 2 was a great improvement and the introduction to your overall plot was done nicely. I feel that the screen time you give characters is slightly unbalanced, but this will likely change in the future. The Nova and Shiv dilemma is interesting because it's obvious that you want players to choose Shiv, by giving his backstory immediately before giving the choice, it's obvious that you want players to side with Shiv for some reason. I wonder how this will play out. Episode 3 was stellar. The Silver Rise was a nice warm up to the Episode although felt dragged out at points, probably to do with the high encounter rate but the rest was... wow. Obviously I cannot go into detail because of spoilers but the story experience in Episode 3 was just mindblowing, especially when I was highly skeptical of this fangame at first. The ending in particular was done flawlessly, I can tell you're probably a writer of sorts. The story of this game is easily its strongest point and if you're one for a well written story I would suggest this. I didn't feel like this game would go places in Episode 1, truthfully, as the quality just seemed quite low. I have been pleasantly proven wrong. It's not often that a game, especially a fangame, can open up my mind so much. I'm really excited to see where the story goes. The minor issues I've explained above do little to bring down this fangame and I'd probably give it around 9/10.

Is Tristan going to be the Gym Leader for the next Episode?

Really enjoyed everything so far. Will these islands go to like one big treasure or will they each just have their own single treasure??
