  1. Well, I got back from the Doctor's about 3 hours ago, and it turns out that a lot of the vomiting of blood was mostly caused by some serious irritation of the inner-lining of my stomach walls - due to me taking that pill of Oxycontin by accident. Why did I take that medication? Because, hilariously, I mistook it for aspirin on my desk, but then remembered what it was. I originally had it sitting there, 3 months ago for pain that I was having with my back, but never took it. Also, it was only half of a pill of Oxycontin. A HALF! A half fucked me up so bad that I ended up vomiting blood and experienced all kinds of negative side-effects.

But yes, I was diagnosed with seratonin syndrome, and for the most part I got over it pretty quickly. They kept me in the hospital for longer than I wanted, but they got me back up without me feeling like total shit constantly. But... I will never take that shit ever again. Because jfc did it fucking suck. I wouldn't wish that kind of pain on anyone. Don't take Oxycontin unless told to by a doctor, otherwise THAT will happen. It's also worse because it's an opiate, and that shit will fuck you up.

It is not that I really delve deep into fanfic or create my own theories

I mostly wait to see what happens next rather than give it much thought

But such as it is "FOOD FOR THOUGHT" always arises even for the tiniest bit

and gives rise to discussion (which I really don't mind)...

Also things like those do put ideas into the author's mind

Again this is just my opinion which you don't have to regard if don't like it

    No seriously I'm a nobody........................................................................................................................................................

    Don't listen to my ramblings

I'd rather not give those kinds of theories the benefit of the doubt. Especially since it's a pride thing for me to write everything myself than to be accepting of someone's, possibly less impressive and unfitting, idea that isn't welcome in the game, in the first place. But, I also don't pay attention to "theories" anyways, so eh.

In any case, I am quite sick at the moment, for anyone else reading this rambling. I actually became sick through my own fault, because I accidentally ate a medication called "Oxycontin" and has since fucked me up all day today. I've been throwing up blood, feeling off-balance, woozy, body sore and my heart is racing at a million beats per second. So, I apologize if I seem a little on-edge today, more than usual, because I am seriously not doing well, because of my own stupidity.

Sure why not it'll be fun at-least to have story based game after a long while now (ahem dark rising ahem) with wholly developed characters with really good personalities

Like your style (No loose ends, eh)

it does remind me of the digidestineds how they get chosen and have single great partner with them...

So waiting for the game is going to be the hardest part

Except that unlike Dark Rising, my game isn't trashy fan-fiction with characters from alternate universes thrown in, because why not. Sorry to anyone who likes that game, but it was not made well, story-wise and gameplay wise. I hate cliffhanger endings, because that ruins the endings for RPG's that go for something artistic, like mine. It's such a lame cash in on trying to keep expectations high, and trying to keep people on the edge of their seat when you could just show them a proper ending that resolves everything, rather than doing something lame. It also prevents people making stoner theories about "what will happen next", and making false theories based on my work, because look at how accurate those are. (No I'm not bitter why do you ask XD)

So what is the time gap between the 2 games and are you likely to release both the games at the same time or would take time for the 2nd installment

and let the tension build from the fans and take ideas from the gamers as to how the story could proceed even further...

also while leaving any cliff hangers for us to grab on ???

Please let there be cliff hangers...

Time gap? You mean like... how far in the future is it? It's 12 years in the future, after events of the 1st game. There are no cliffhangers, because that's my style, also the stories have been finished for both games. They've been written and finished for a few years now.

Wait...so you are working on 2 games simultaneously? O.O Wow.

I've been working on the 2nd game for a pretty long time now, at least conceptually and story wise. Mostly because I want to have the game using a completely original graphic set, and heavily modified engine. At the moment I've been programming said engine for a few years now, and it's completely original and only for the 2nd game.

  6. So, at the current moment I have just gotten a huge amount of motivation to design several new characters for the 2nd game, and I've actually been spending some time working on said 2nd game. Mostly just to keep me busy and keep my ideas rolling. But, for shits and giggles there will be characters that I will be showing off, from the 2nd game, in the coming weeks. Again, for funzies.

Also, as a random note - the 2nd game is a lot more fantasy driven than this game. Which says a lot, given how fantasy-esque this game already is. However, I find the 2nd game to be the best version of the Symphonic Horizon games. It has the most consistent writing, best set-pieces, and a much more engaging story. My current game suffers a bit from a lot of stop-start action, where I'd work, then stop, then pick it back up again forgetting what I was doing. With the 2nd game, the story's been consistent all the way through and I find to be much more enjoyable, overall.

Also, here's an update from my manga artist about the situation on the manga's upcoming chapters. Are you ready? Cool!

    819800c64f9bfcb9346c0ef0df683549_by_dyla

About that much XD The upcoming chapters are underway, with Marissa annoyed.

  7. Update: So, I've made some pretty good progress along the road to completing my game. Many bugs fixed, many things added in, and new maps created. First I'm gonna show off a few maps for the Dark Fang's Northern Base. This was a weird thing for me to work on, since it's extremely difficult to try and make several bases that look and feel very much different.

Side Note: Also, it's probably a fact now at this point that I'm probably the biggest fan of Tales of Symphonia on the Earth, since I now own EVERYTHING Tales of Symphonia related, including all of the overly expensive figurines, blu-ray dvd's, posters, Japanese manga, Japanese novelization, wall-scrolls, and all versions of the game (including Japanese exclusive versions). Yes, I am a nerd, yes, I am a huge fan-boy who has plans to go to a Tales of Festival in Japan, and YES... I want to get my stuff autographed.

Also, this is going to be starting the date where I have nearly all of the costumes completely finished. These including costumes with rideable Pokemon, fishing, etc. However, the methods to unlock said costumes aren't totally finished yet. BUT, I intend to get around to doing so this week.

  8. So, as of today's livestream I have completed 2 1/2 new maps. Technically I just refined 2 and started working on another. The last of which... I'm having some slight artist's block with, but... eh.

Also, I will be announcing a new character for the game! Technically not new, since she's been planned for the game, for a long time, but I haven't gotten the time to have her made yet. She's similar to Ninetales in that she has a human and Pokemon form, but at the same time has extreme relevance at the very end of the game. So important in-fact that she becomes a pseudo-party member. I say pseudo, because you can't "technically" use her for Pokemon battling, however she has a very unique function that I think will tickle many people's fancy. I'll be announcing her within this week, hopefully.

Just found this game randomly looking at Reborn update log, and like, mind blown. So much detail and dedication can be shown so far and I am extremely hyped for this game. Keep up the GREAT work and I really wish this game was out today!

Appreciated, however, most of the images that I ever posted on here aren't allowed to be here, anymore, thanks to Photobucket's policy changes, which require me to pay 399.99 per year or 39.99 per month just to post images.

  10. So, guys, I hope you're enjoying all the 3rd Party, embedded images that I post here, because Photobucket clearly doesn't... This, by the way, is bullshit:

    https://www.ghacks.net/2017/06/30/photobucket-now-charges-399-for-third-party-hosted-images/

I occasionally post from dA, from my stash, but jesus christ man. Like, why is this even a thing? I have the majority of my photos from there, and I thought that having my subscription to them, already was enough. But, no, they think that I should charge them 399 per year, or 39.99 per month in order for me to post content of my game.

    Fuck. right. off.

I'm gonna be using dA to post photos from now on, because seriously, fuck that shit.

  11. So, ever since my emotional stress has been at an all time high, I produced something that reflects how I felt. It's something that appears in-game as an optional scene between Vice and Vivian. It's a tad shippy, and the scene is quite long, so I just cut the gif down to the meat of what I find as the most striking part about the scene. Also, I created a new mechanic to the game called "Character Relationships". No, you cannot ship Vice with anyone besides what the story has planned for him, if that's what you're thinking.

What the new system does is that there are several new scenes that I created in the game that if you were to watch those optional scenes, certain characters' relationships with other characters will increase. Some of them are a little out of the way, and yes you can completely miss any opportunity of seeing the scene as they are only accessible during moments where the party is not all together. What this effectively does is that if one character is partnered with another character in battle there are random effects that can occur in battle, such as:

    • One character protecting the other, completely, from damage.
    • Increase critical hit ration for one attack
    • 10% stat buff for certain stats throughout battle, so long as they are partnered together
    • Can save a Pokemon from fainting and allowing them to hold on with 1HP.
    • Can produce unique in-battle conversations depending on how high their relationship level is

Since this is completely optional it has no real effect on the story of the game, besides more character building and development for said characters. However, the scenes, regardless if you watched them or not, will still be considered canon, but not mentioned unless you watched the scene. So, either way the scenes are canon and will be only referenced if you viewed it. I say that, because regardless of you watching them or not, they will be referenced in the follow-up, sequel to the game.

Feels sad to learn such a thing happened.  Your emotional situation is completely understandable, given the situation.

On the flip side, you have gone past the point where you were dependent on someone else, so you can at least slowly adapt to your new reality.

Keep powering through bullshit like you always do, and keep kicking ass, like, again, you do.

Oniy few words for ya dude. Just chillax and keep doing great work and don't let the no-bullshit attitude drain off. Imagine this, you do something awesome and bam, you're on paper or TV. Then, people want ya. It's all about kicking unwanted stuff at the right time. Who knows you living alone might actually end up being productive.

I wouldn't say it's exactly easy to do at this point, since progress on my game has been slow, due to... you know. It's a constant thought in the back of my head that pressures me into working, when I don't want to. I will try to get some progress done, but I'm gonna be a lot more laid back about working on my game, at the moment, due to my high stress levels.

  13. It's been a few weeks. I'm alive, disowned by my own father, kicked out of my own house, and living far away from them. Still have everything that I worked on, because there's no way I'd ever leave that stuff behind. But I have become 200% more no-bullshit in my attitude. My life has gone somewhere, and it hasn't been pleasant. I still have my job working IT and making a lot of money, but it hasn't been the most pleasant of experiences. Traumatized and heart-struck I guess would be the best choice of words to use, I suppose. I won't go into detail of what happened, because it's frankly no one's business, but I'm just gonna say it wasn't exactly something that I'd wish on my worst enemy.

Anyways, I've been working on my game, in my time away, fixing bugs and getting what I can done for my game, for people to test. I plan on livestreaming and talking about everything that went down, in the past 2 weeks, but all I can say is... I'm pretty upset and not in the best of moods. At all.

Every time I see this game, I am amazed.Hopefully I can play this game when it is completed.

I try to keep production levels high, which is something you won't see in most fan-games, and is the main reason why my game probably won't be out for a good while.

Also, I believe I've done a good, in that I've finally finished 4 maps in 1 stream! The first 2 maps are part of Renma - East 23rd District and I'm sure you're thinking "why is it called that if it's not a town?" many reasons, actually, such as this is supposed to be a new expansion project that was set across 8 years to create a new district for Renma (the capital of the Northern Continent). The head of that project was Vaan Cresthart's mother: Reina Cresthart, who lived on the outskirts of Renma in East 23rd District. The first map is referred to as "Gate to The 23rd". Obviously since Reina passed away a long time ago the project was scrapped and was left as is. So, now this mountainous part of the Northern Continent keeps its original name: East 23rd District in honor of the original project. Also, if you progress further to the north of this area you will come across Vaan's old house, which is a completely optional area and only serves as extra character development for Vice.

As for the last few maps, these are part of the Renma Hills: Arch Cave. In this map, once Krista gains access to her powers to call Pokemon to aide her and be able to cross water and fly you will be able to go further through the cave to the final area where you will be able to fight the phantom Garchomp for the 3rd and final time. If you leave the area and come back, after defeating the phantom Garchomp from the Next Dimension, Terrakion will occupy this cave and you will be able to capture it if you desire. The Phantom Garchomp will be in its final form, which is its Mega Form and is level 85. MUCH higher level than it's previous 2 fights that you had with it. It also has a one-hit kill attack called Death Spiral that it can use after its countdown hits 0. Before that countdown hits 0 you can use protect, detect, etc in order to avoid taking damage, or even throwing out a Pokemon with Sturdy.

Approximately how long will we have to wait for the game to be released? I'm Looking forward to it.

Didn't you ask this before, a long time ago? I might be thinking of someone else with a Darkrai avatar. My answer is whenever it's released. I don't hold myself to a schedule, especially since I started working a full-time job at my University. I work on my game, whenever I have time and I'm not exhausted after work. At the moment I'm working on my game, but I'm finishing up some small touches before I let a few, select people, to play my game and test it.

  16. So, I just checked something out, and so far there are 43 original characters in my game so far. Well 43 that have artwork, but there are actually 51 original characters in the entire game. That's 51 characters that are involved in the story and aren't NPC's that are copy/paste Trainers to fight. That's a lot of characters, and most JRPG's generally have about 30-50 on average. That's not counting generics. These are all one of a kind characters. As for NPC Trainers, well... who cares? I don't XD

However, I am going to be livestreaming in about 2 hours, so for those interested, feel free to hop in early:

  17. So, I've got some time off from work during the weekends, but in the coming few days I plan on over-hauling several key aspects of my game, especially reworking certain cutscenes. Mostly due to continuity errors, and mostly due to other things that didn't make much sense. Also, I will be re-working some game mechanics as well as including several new items and graphics into the game.

One other important thing is that I am currently animating 2 new animations for my game. And since my pay-roll at my new job has been quite nice (significantly more than if I was to work 2 jobs at the same time) I am now able to afford these things more openly without having to worry about partitioning my money in other areas.

    vicegif.gif

As for the manga, my Patreon page for it is now live and you all are now able to check it out. Incentives and goals are listed, but I also wanted to add this: I am basically working on both the manga and the game at the same time, as well as prioritizing about 80% of my money towards it, which... is a lot of money. As of this month I will be posting a couple pages, but more than that you'll have to wait for the actual manga to be released. Also, for newcomers of my thread and don't know what I'm talking about, and for those who are saying that I'm talking out my ass, here are some example pages:

  19. For those of you interested I've posted a livestream of some game development that I've been working on today. Not quite as long as I'd been hoping since my internet started to whack out on me. But, for the most part I accomplished quite a bit, while also talking about relevant things.

  20. With the summer here, no more school and a full-time job paying me lots of money in my field of study I have completed loads of events so far! I plan on posting a new video in regards to a new menu I was working on the past 2 weeks or so! It's the new, revamped Ability Matrix that has been, for the most part, finished :D

Also, the reason why I have not posted anything in regards to any sort of character artwork is well... practically all of them are now finished. There are maybe 2-3 left for the tournament, but other than that there aren't anymore characters that need designing. Also, I spent the past week revising the story of my game and re-ordering sequences of events. Mainly in the direction of the storyline and its "arcs". I also changed how the Next Dimension Tournament works, at least in regards to the story's premise. Instead of it being the penultimate arc of the game it is the final arc, mostly because I find it very difficult to believe that after certain things happen you just magically go to this island in another dimension while this evil bad-guy is just... waiting? Somewhere? So, to make things flow better I changed it to the Celestial Island being the penultimate arc with the Next Dimension Tournament being the final arc before the final ascension through Destiny Outlook.

Also, here is a new map I finished awhile ago. This is the Volcano Island Archipelago (yes I know it's only 1 island)

    3014c64615dcea876acf32fabf4305b4.png

This island is purely optional and this mostly only serves as an area to catch a certain Legendary Pokemon after you finish up the Northern Base. Also, this is roughly around the time when one of the Masked Trainers utilizes her own Legendary Pokemon which she refers to as her "pet mouse" that she uses for killing burglars. That legendary Pokemon in question being Primal Groudon. Why and how does she have that Pokemon? Well, first of all she's old. Really old. And secondly she has her ways of controlling Pokemon that are far too powerful for a regular Trainer to ever hope  to use.

  21. Progress update: I've been working extensively on finishing up some late game events and working around making some battles more interesting, including the Android fight with Rae and Asche. Their fight basically involves them having the ability to use an ability exclusive to them, due to them being androids, that allows their Pokemon to have their next attack be 100% accurate. However, you do not have to actually win the fight, as there are 3 fights with them, and only 1 of them you have to win and that's after you've fought them twice and their Pokemon being tired out.

Also, at the start of June I will be continuing progress on the manga, as well as posting a link to the manga's Patreon page for those interested. My manga artist just graduated from college with her degree in Art, Comic and Cartoon design. You can view it early if you want, but it's still a work in progress:

    https://www.patreon.com/SymphonicHorizonManga

As much as I tend to avoid crowdfunding, this is the one and only time I will ever do this, since it's not funding my game. This Patreon page is only to fund the manga, and even then I'm still paying for it, alongside this. This isn't for me to skimp out on my own payments, but mostly to assist in regards to printing costs and additional, extra pages, per month.

Feedback on the page would be appreciated. Thoughts, opinions, criticisms.

  22. Finals are almost over I swear :o Literally tomorrow is my last day of school for the year, and then I start my Summer job working IT on the 30th. Which means I will have a lot more, stress-free time to work on my game! I plan on streaming some game development tomorrow after my last day of school and after I finish up the last of my assignments that I procrastinated for a bit until now XD
