  1. That's a fantastic idea, Zeroneos. I will do that, also, when I reach that point in the game when, and where, I can get the shiny charm. In the meantime, I will still be shiny-hunting event Pokémon to encounter each event Pokémon in its shiny form.
  2. Right. Thanks for letting me know that, TimTim. * UPDATE: I now have a shiny Happiny. I soft-reset my game, talked to Happiny, accepted it as a party member, and then my game screen froze. When my game unfroze and I checked my party's final slot, I saw that I had received a shiny Happiny. Man, did it take me forever and two days to receive a shiny Happiny, though. I'm not sure if I want to evolve it or not. I could breed another shiny Happiny, I suppose.
  3. Does anyone else try to soft reset to get every event Pokemon shiny, or is that just something that I do, constantly? :)

Thankyou, TimTim. It had been much easier to find my shiny Poochyena, to be honest. Shiny Happiny seems to be the rarest shiny in Pokémon Reborn - it rivals my shiny Misdreavus in how it refuses to show up and be shiny. O.o

Okay - I now have shiny Happiny. My game screen went entirely pitch-black, and then when my game resumed, I saw that I had received a shiny Happiny. It took me age upon age to get a shiny Happiny, but I now have one. :)

  4. Okay, I'll continue trying to soft-reset for a shiny Happiny. Every Happiny must be female only, I'd say. Thanks.
  5. Hi. I am soft-resetting to try to receive a shiny Happiny from Warehouse 3 in the Coral Ward, but all that I can find are female Happiny that are non-shiny. Their total health statistic is the only thing that increases by 1 and/or decreases by 1, on its own whim, each soft reset. Does anyone know if Happiny is shiny-locked? It seems to be, for me. I'm replaying Episode 15.
  6. Guess who now has a shiny Chimchar with Iron Fist on their second save file? Me. :) Ice cream for those who guessed correctly. Choose your ice cream flavour and it's yours

Done and done! :) Enjoy your ice cream. :D I've beaten Cain and Victoria and now I am on my way to Opal Bridge for the first time. Then, it will be time to train and start shiny-hunting.

  7. Which Starter should I pick in my second save file? I want great type coverage.

Fire/Fighting starters usually offer an arrays of advantages against many types~

I wouldn't mind either a Froakie or a Chimchar...too bad I can't have both. I've had Froakie in my Omega Ruby, so I think I'll go for Chimchar and try to soft reset to get a shiny Chimchar. Thankyou for your assistance. I'll start a third game in future and get a Froakie and try to soft reset to get a shiny Froakie in that game. :)

Chimchar is not soft resetting... :( Should I try for Froakie, instead?. O.o

  8. How do I manage to get an alternate save file? I want to replay Episode 15, but I don't want to rewrite my original save file and I don't want to switch between the two save files in order to be able to play both games.

OK, I'm creating a new save file now and I will be switching between the two files. I will see if this works as planned.

There's a backup save file system...so you probably shouldn't have to worry about it. I think I have about 1,500 saves I need to start wiping out.

Where is the backup save system? Just so I know, for future reference. I'm having trouble deciding which Starter Pokémon to pick.

  9. I just captured a shiny Sableye and a shiny Tauros! :)

:) I seem to be, yes. Surprisingly, the shiny Tauros appeared quite quickly -I must have walked enough steps to naturally encounter it without shiny-hunting for it for hours, which is what I usually do when I am shiny-hunting. I now have to max out Chingling's happiness so that I can shiny-hunt for a shiny Chikorita - this will happen in a few days to a week or so, due to my having to wait to give Chingling haircuts in the salon every day from now on.

For the shiny Sableye, I ran into it many times in its location, and after a very long time (almost as long a time as it took me to encounter my shiny Misdreavus), I encountered shiny Sableye and caught it. It took quite awhile to catch it - it didn't want to be caught.

  10. I am attempting to get a shiny Chikorita. :)

  11. How do I evolve Chingling? Do I raise its Happiness during the Day or during the Night?

Great! Thankyou, Plague Knight. :D Can I raise Happiness by getting Chingling's hair cut at the Obsidia Ward Salon?.

Despite the lack of hair, yes. Also make sure you pick up the Soothe Bell to make it cheeper and easier.

Okay, I'll do that. :) Thanks for your assistance.

  12. Shiny Misdreavus, welcome to my team and welcome to my shiny collection. We have been expecting you. You have been eagerly awaited.

Thankyou! :) It had taken me forever and a day to get shiny Misdreavus, but all the time spent trying to get it has been worth it. I can't wait to soft reset the next event Pokémon that I encounter. I'll try to breed the puzzle Pokémon, because completing puzzles endlessly really does my head in. XD I'll make sure I snare a female puzzle Pokémon each time. I can't wait to soft reset legendary Pokémon in the future, even though I'm sure that soft res...

  13. Thanks, Hiroki. It's taking me far more than 100 soft resets so far and still I have yet to encounter a shiny Misdreavus after the battle. Quicksave button won't work, and I am starting to think that I will never luck out and receive a shiny Misdreavus. I keep wondering why each Misdreavus, post soft reset, never have any IVs and EVs. * UPDATE: Everyone! I have GOT a shiny Misdreavus!! Finally, I have encountered the thought-to-be-unattainable Pokémon after so many soft resets that I had long since stopped keeping track of each soft reset. All of the Medicham-battling, all of the Perish Song victories, all of the suffering that I had been forced to endure every single time I had seen a non-shiny Misdreavus in my Pokémon party, well, it has all been worth it, because now I have the shiny Misdreavus that I have sought for such a very long time. Now...on to the next event Pokémon before I go to Agate Circus and beyond.
  14. Why won't you show up, shiny Misdreavus? It's been three days and you still have yet to be encountered. >:I

      TimTim

      The ever elusive shiny~

    2. TheSilentSerenade

      TheSilentSerenade

Yes, indeed. :) Encountering a shiny Pokémon in the end is absolutely worth it, though, and seeing the eventually-shiny Pokémon makes the endless search for it worth it.

  15. OK. Thanks. I have tried pressing D in moments where there is no dialogue, but that doesn't seem to do anything. I soft reset and I am back to just before I examine the gravestone and spawn the imposter Kiki. I will keep trying to Quicksave until it works. Oh, and yes, I do have a free spot in my party for Misdreavus, in order to quickly check on it to see if it has any IVs and EVs (so far, it has none) and to check if it is shiny (which, so far, it is not.)
