    Honestly, the Wii U is cool, but buying plastic toys to get the full experience doesn't really appeal to me.

      They are basically just action figures. The only other game where you get some serious content is Splatoon where you the ability to replay single player mode with diferent weapons. But it's SINGLE PLAYER MODE. Splatoon is all about multiplayer.

      The main reasoning for my thinking was coming from the upcoming Twilight Princess remake, that includes an extra dungeon that is unlocked wth an Amiibo. My reasoning is that if Im going to buy an upgraded version of a game that's been out for years, I feel like any paywall is a bad idea, as Nintendo used to be the company that didn't pull that kind of stuff.
