  1. Would it be more entertaining to have a protagonist be useless in a fight and require his friends to keep him alive or be useful in a fight? I'm trying to figure out what to do with him, and I can't decide if he should have powers or not.

      If he doesn't have powers, does his real power become leadership and tactics? If he's useful in a fight, in what aspects do his comrades outshine him?

      He'd probably have tactical skills either way. The easiest way to explain it would be if his allies had magic or the strength to use weaponry and he didn't. Basically it's whether or not I want him to be like Mark(?) from Blazing Blade or not.

       

      One of the running gags was he was pretty much useless, but now I have the chance to give him powers of his own, but I don't know if I should or if I should keep him as a tactical leader with no combat skills.
