  1. If Pokemon has taught me anything, is to always look at the ground while you're walking - apparently everyone leaves all kind of useful stuff everywhere.
  2. Unless you beat Arceus. There's a thread full of everyone's strategies to do it. And I feel inclined to think that any kind of true ending would force the player to pass those challenges. Indeed, but not only Corey's field, but the whole chapter's plot. It will probably have further consequences in the incoming episodes of the game, as Heather (and apparently Shade) are going to start to take moves. Don't worry, If you don't go upstairs, Laura loses
  3. In order to not to sink Things wrong with [insert Nation Here] into an off-topic, I'm making a new thread. While it's hardly questionable that capitalism was useful at some times through history, it's also hard to see that, as time goes on, it causes more problems and solves less issues. Those that may seem to have an higher transcendence from a global perspective are the environment and the energy: most people is aware that we are steadily making the Earth a less healthy place to live in, but the ultra competitive logic of the system makes it unable to reach a solution: the first world countries, after having mutilated not few of their forests, demand that Latin America doesn't chop the Amazonia, but then refuses to collaborate with the development of the poor who live there, who want to take the oil under the jungle so they can get some basic healthcare and they don't have to see how half of their family die from diseases easily curable in the first world. That is, If it's not the very Western or Chinese companies the ones that chop the jungle themselves. As for energy, we are slowly seeing how the non renewable energy resources are being depleted, but instead of making use of the affluence of capital during the good times to develop renewable energy we can use later, we recur to cracking during the bad times. And remember, these are issues whose consequences will be seen as time goes on, but there are many others more pressing: today, in the frigging first world, there is a lot of people who has worked hard during their whole lives and yet they live with the fear of having hunger through the month, with the fear of being evicted at the moment they run a bit of bad luck. There are mainly two problems of capitalism that have run long out of control, taking everything else with them: the insane accumulation of wealth by few, and (in consequence) the interference of the big proprietaries (be it individuals or those ruthless and apparently faceless entities known as banks). The first problem is an elemental rule of capitalism itself: someone who has a lot of money is able to create more money out of it. Some may try to refute this with stories of rich people who fall into poverty due to bad inversions - recurring to such an argument takes us to ignore that there are safer and riskier inversions, and that a rich person with the feet on the ground is always (except in extreme situations, see WWII) able to invest the vast bulk of his wealth in safe inversions and still ensure becoming richer each day. In today's world, money is power: money allows you to buy a person's life in terms of hours worked, and this has created huge empires of propaganda: every single person in the first world countries has been convinced, at some moment of his lives, that they need to earn money to buy something that they don't need or don't even want, and some people even want to conquer that material wealth to impress people they don't know or don't even like. Do corporations do this because there's an evil chairman moving peons to achieve any kind of plan behind of them? No, they do it because they're machines to make money. Within the system's logic, you either devour others and become bigger, or someone else will devour others, accumulate capital, make a more competitive company and will devour you, simply to not to suffer that fate. And then they use that capital to make people believe they want, that they need, their products, because If they don't, another local company will, and If it isn't, it will be one of a neighboring country, and If that one doesn't do it either a fucking Chinese company will eventually grow big enough to promote consumerism in its continent an reproduce the system's logic, getting people to work until their bones don't let them do it anymore without concerns for well being or happiness, having completely forgotten that an economic system's purpose it to provide people the resources, products and services they need to live better, and not to perpetuate itself in a never ending competition. The another big issue of capitalism is that big masses of wealth have grown so insanely big that they can put on their knees any government they want. Let's leave aside our ill-feelings (probably well founded) for certain politicians or even our countries' political classes in general, and let's imagine that democracy is a system that allows a country's people to decide what their government has to do. The very first problem to make this a reality is that to win a political campaign you need a lot of money, and the easiest way to get it is to ask for it to a big fortune (usually a bank), but that immediately puts you under the obligation of defending its interests. The use of the new technologies allow alternatives to this, such as crowfundings, even If they are still very naively executed. Let's go a step ahead and imagine that a party actually wins the elections with the intentions of putting the interests of the majority above of those of the bigger masses of wealth - the big proprietaries will make use of the mass media they posses to attack that party in every way they can, and even If properly explained it sounds perfectly reasonable and logical, a single voice can't best the TV (we can discuss this point further ahead, there are cases in my country I may explain, but it'd take me some more paragraphs, and it's not a priority), but EVEN If we go another step ahead and imagine that a party got the majority of its country's support, even though it's being criticized every day in the mass media, would it be able to beat the pressure of the biggest international corporations that wouldn't want to lose the profits they'd been making in that country? Words made short: Is it possible to have democracy within today's capitalism? TL;DR: It's intrinsic to capitalism that rich people get richer; insanely rich people are above democracy; capitalism is proving itself unable to solve today's world's problems; hippie environmental shit talk that Fern despises. Sorry for the wall of text, but it's a thread that requires walls of text (and it's an issue that requires more than a thread in a forum). Before further going on myself, there are several questions to put on the table: What good does capitalism still offer to society? Given all the trouble it's causing, is it worth saving it? If we were to change capitalism, would it be possible to do it without a complete critique and denouncement of the system, knowing that those benefited by the injustices it provokes will use their power to convince everyone of the contrary? If we were, instead, to transition to another system, where may we be headed to? How to make an economical system that follows democracy's orders, and not the opposite? How to fight the forces that would actively promote not changing and where would we get the power to build a new system?
  4. I don't know If people mean that they fought the last battle with either Florinia or Boomgirl or If they fought both 3 battle along with one of them, but I fought the 2 first with Florinia and the last one along with dontgoboom, dontgoboom, dontgoboom. The choices, anyway. 1) Whether or not you beg Fern No way. 2) Finding all of the police officers before facing the final Tangrowth I almost didn't, but found the last one by accident. 3) Joining the Aqua or the Magma gang Magma. 4) Beating Garchomp in the boss fight with Solaris I got wrecked the first time, and a couple of gyms later I ended up restarting just to not to miss anything in the story - so yes, beat it. 5) Saving Heather or going on to fight Sirius Thanks to the restart, I discovered the possibility of going upstairs instead of simply saving Heather. I chose to go for Anna because the keys are, after all, the central piece of the plot. 6) Going upstairs or staying downstairs when Team Meteor invades I think I went upstairs. I fought Sirius in the Headquarters and Sigmund at Charlotte's house. 7) Siding with El or Radomus I actually spent a lot of time thinking on this one. The earlier light-truth/dark-lies puzzles made me consider that maybe it was a practice training to make the correct decision at that moment, so I left aside my sympathy for Radomus and looked at it through different angles. Fake Gardevoir could have been a different Gardevoir, but I happened to watch by chance the interview to Radomus in the TV, so it actually made sense that Fake Gardevoir was the Real Gardevoir, lying simply for being pissed off at Radomus for not corresponding her. There was no proof of neither though, so I'd have to look for proofs somewhere else. Elias accused Radomus of brainwashing her daughter - to which Radomus only says it's a silly idea. Luna first fled from El's hands to the Ice/Mirrors gym, where she met Gardevoir. Gardevoir could have (SOMEHOW) brainwashed her there, but she had already ran away from El in the first place. You can't be 100% sure of Radomus' intentions, but you can be certain that Luna took the decision of fleeing away from El by herself. If two persons are accusing each other of having bad intentions, the best guess is to temporarily trust the person whose words are backed by proofs. I got mixed feelings afterwards: a self-proclaimed prophet who forges false evidence of someone else's lies, then uses a Ditto to create a fake god? It was plain ridiculous (and thus felt terrible to be crushed him in the first few battles). But then again, Radomus apparently tried to brainwash Elias after that. Why would he let Elias pretend to be his butler? For fun? Welp, knowing Radomus IT COULD'VE BEEN for fun: just to see what are El's intentions, but then again, it strongly points in the opposite direction: that Radomus actually has some kind of ability to mess with other people's minds. 8) How you answer Charlotte's question of how important the Ruby Ring is Ruby ring above everything else. If it turns out that Team Meteor can actually destroy the world with it, everyone lives' are definitely more important than Aya's. 9) Whether or not you give Blake the ring I said not at first, but being left with the hands empty felt dumb. I played 5 mins after saying "no", "no" and "yes", and then another 5 mins after saying "no" three times. Immediately meeting Cal and putting him in his way to stop Blake seemed strategically more intelligent, and I simply felt better by defending the pragmatical view of "ring above everything else". When I finally received the Cascade Machine from Aster, I definitely felt confident that it was the most correct choice. 10) Giving Titania candy in the Water Treatment Center I gave her gum. Gum that heals paralysis. I only discovered the alternative dialogue with the blue moon ice cream after finishing the episode, lurking through the forums, so it's way too late for that. 11) Whether or not you decide to fight Taka to save him from his father's wrath Fought him. Basically due to the same reasons that everyone else pointed. 12) Whether or not you say your are a new student when you speak with Kiki. Yes 13) Whether or not you claim to have seen Titania chatting with a grunt in the woods. Yes 14) Whether or not you admit to reading the diary. I loaded back several times because she made me feel bad with every possible answer, ungh. I finally went with yes. It's simply retarded to say no after she's been staring at your for a whole minute while you were doing it. 15) Whether or not you tell Amaria what was in the diary. Nope. At least, Titania would've seen me a bit less guilty. 16) Whether or not you tell Luna you're afraid of the dark. I'm not afraid, take me to the dark, baby <3
  5. Given that you're well aware of many of the troubles capitalism causes (you're probably aware of even more, but w4ll5 0f t3xt), I have curiosity to know what makes you so convinced that it's possible to tame it. But since I suspect that debate could take us enough for a book or too, maybe we should open another thread, If you too want to discuss it.

    what if?

You need to ask for help to the people of the alleyways (I'm pretty sure that's the tip you receive when you have to find it). However, please ask for stuff in their respective topics. On-Topic: When Sigmund took Heather in the middle of Lapis, I wanted the MC to shout: "You can't take her! I'm his uncle!", especially after Corey specifically asked you to look after her. Maybe If the MC didn't have 0 points in charisma...
  7. He didn't take his soul, just his corpse. If Corey was, indeed, going to turn into a Gengar, he just needed to have the corpse in an isolated space to battle and capture him without much trouble. Also, for those of you who have seen the last episode's Corey's content:
  8. Learning English at school!? That's a myth. It's well known that English is learnt through video games and internet. On-Topic: Cyaloom, is Venetian just a dialect of Italian or a full language by own right?
  9. You people would enjoy Spain then. Because of our history, apart from Spanish, many regions have its own language, some directly born out of another, most as the result of the constant interaction between all of them - and that creates a very wide range of accents and dialects. There's the Galician, direct father of Portuguese, with a very characteristic pronunciation; the Catalan, born from the isolation of French nobles in a previously Visigothic land previously ruled by Moors, the Valencian and Mallorquin, both children of the Catalan yet they have grown close to be their own languages by right; the Andalusian, which was first a Visigothic dialect of Arabic, but today is an Arabic dialect of Castillian (or Spanish), which has so many variations that it practically changes as you cross some different small villages, or go from one extreme to the another of a bigger city (such as Seville). And of course, the Euskera or Basque, which has evolved independently from all Indoeuropean languages. It is theorized they were there before Visigoths, Romans and maybe even Celtics, and have managed to keep it alive through thousand or years. If you add all the Latin American variations of Spanish and Portuguese, your head explodes. However, many Latin American call us all Spanish "gallegos" (from Galician) wheter we live in Galicia or not We are so close, yet so far.
  10. I left LoL about half a year ago since it was only bringing me frustration and desire of kicking 5 butts (or nine, If you catch my drift) every hour or so, due to the stupid and absurd competitiveness promoted by the game and the community in general. Reaching Platinum 3 was enough for me to kick it out of my life. Has anything changed around there or do people still rage at you at the minimal mistake?
  11. Things wrong with Spain: Even when literally everyone knows that the highest faces in the ruling party have been receiving illegal payments for decades, so many millions of people pretend to keep voting them that they may win elections again this year. Even though mostly everyone is aware of the media's interests to lie, the vast majority still believes in everyday's forged news. Even though we had a very competent system of public colleges, there has been almost no investment in high technology during the last decades, which has forced hundreds of thousands of very intelligent and prepared young people to emigrate. Instead of creating a productive system that gives jobs to those people, the government is actually dismounting and selling the public colleges (*clap, clap*). 22% unemployment rate is high enough for you? Our educative system is though to produce workers and technicians, not critical persons. A new party gathers up most people's demands to the point of almost being able to win the elections - then proceeds to kill itself by not hearing the 15M movement demands of direct democracy and forms an elitist, rigid direction, falls in all the polls and we are doomed to four more years of being ruled by egoist and incompetent butlers chosen by the banks. Every ruined and starving dog and his mother thinks of themselves as 'Medium-High middle class', even after their familiar business were shut down. The most decent people our country had 2/3 generations ago was systematically assassinated by the extreme right wing during 1936-1940 - millions of Spanish people living today have their grandparents or great grandparents buried in mass graves next to the streets, and yet the majority of the population doesn't know it or doesn't care. Following up the previous point, Spain is the second country of the world with more mass graves in the world, only after Cambodia. While Germany had the decency of banning the apology of nazism and fascism, millions of Spanish people worship Francisco Franco today. I'll keep rambling another day.
  12. I've also had this disappointment of finding birthdays as arbitrary dates, that only remind oneself to be one year closer to die, once you stop being a child and no longer want to grow up more, so I'm not wishing any happy birthdays. However, I'm wishing Ame, Glaceon (and heck, whoever who reads this) many happy decades (at least) to live. I've also had times at my life that made it seem not worth living anymore - but unlike many, I have been raised in a racist and homophobic family. I realized at a relatively early age how sick these views were, but even yet, that scratch may take a lot of time to heal. Rationally understanding that there is nothing wrong in different people for being different, I still felt awkward, uncomfortable, when close to people subject of my father's racism. That is being healed bit by bit by taking efforts in getting to know them, taking some interest in their lives, finding things in which I could relate myself to them. The way of those who are different to force society to accept them by who they am, inevitably passes through not hiding, by going out with the head high, as proud of themselves as possible. Those of us who aren't subject to racism should also help by introducing the matter in conversations with everyone else. Expect to find skepticism If you try to open a very conservative person's views too fast: racism dies gradually. Being too enthusiastic or aggressive with some people about it may cause a bit more harm than good, so learn to evaluate the other person's position. And finally, thanks to everyone who contributes to make the world a better place to live in - not only Ame can do good, you know?
  13. I made it at last! I made small adjustments before the battle: swapped Blaziken for Floatzel (Quick Swim, Frost Bite) as Odybld suggested, gave Damp Rock and Rain Dance to Meowstic and gave a balloon to Klinklang. I started with Ampharos to double punch Togekiss out of the way, as it'd likely be harder to deal for Floatzel, but Togekiss was swapped for Archeos at the second turn. I was expecting to start as Ampharos and swap to Mismagius when Archeos came to battle (to follow Qoseph's Nasty Plot I'm gonna kill myself after such a terrible joke), but he got immediately 1HKOed, because of the ninja swap. D'oh. Then Noivern came. I swapped to Meowstic to set up Rain for Floatzel - he used Rain Dance and died immediately after. Floatzel, as expected, attacks first with Ice Fang, "the x4 damage from type weakness should kill him for sure!" I though. Noivern stayed at red life bar and BAM. Crit. Floatzel out in the first turn. Both strategies failed, cool. I though that, at least, I could still try to find a way to set up Mismagius, even If it was just to check how'd it work. I finished Noivern with Mismagius, I swapped to Ampharos to fight Togekiss, and he got paralyzed by attacking Ampharos. That was the chance - Confuse Ray (If a poke has both paralysis and confusion he only has 1/3 of chances of attacking successfully each turn), and swap to Mismagius. Raised SpAt to the maximum while Togekiss lost several turns attacking himself, roosting, and, you know, being paralyzed. After that, Mismagius procceded to oneshot every single one of Ciel's remaining pokes, even Talonflame (I had expect that one to be faster and able to oneshot Mismagius first), even Altaria. I think I learnt a lot today - specially getting some pushes from you guys to think outside of the box. Thanks for the help.
  14. Most of my team is useless against hers, with the honorable exception of Ampharos. Assume that everyone of my pokes has a bad EV distribution: Blaziken, Scrafty (physical sweeper, and bulky physical, sometimes they are able to clean up something, but most of Ciel's pokemon are fast enough to 1HKO them with 1 acrobatics), Mismagius (special sweeper, terrible defense, high SAt, SDf and Spd, usually gets oneshotted since every enemy has at least one physical attack), Prankster Light Clay Meowstic (very underleveled. Fulfills his function, but that isn't too useful when there are only one or two useful pokes to follow up), Klingklang (a bit underleveled. It has discharge, but terrible SpAt) Ampharos (balanced distribution of EVs - which is lost potential because he could be using special attacks instead of physical ones, but so far he is being useful. Cotton Guard, Confuse Ray, Electric Terrain, Thunder Punch, Ability is Stactic) Except Klinklang and the cat, they are between levels 70 and 73. I also have a Floatzel and Corey's Skuntank at about the same levels, with no EV training, If that helps. The main problems are that Blaziken, Scrafty and Mismagius are close to useless in this match, since they die faster than they kill (th0s 5pe3d h4x omg), no one can get past that Gliscor, and I suspect they wouldn't have much more success with the Mega Altaria. I'd gladly raise a new, balaced team with good EVs, put it'd be more useful If I had access to the caretakers again. I've though of raising a Bergmite -> Avalugg to a useful level, with ok EVs, but before taking the effort I'd like If you told me If there's any reason why I sholdn't (It'd be a darn shame that Altaria had flamethrower after I had raised a poke with the sole objective of beating it) and bring me brighter ideas, or tips to train with the limited spots to do so. Thanks in advance.
  15. ...Now I remember your nick! My boat got stuck at the coast of your base and I couldn't reclaim it back, because it was at your territory. At least it'll help me to remember your name. *Suspicious look* So you want my pokes to get hurt so I have to come back, huh? \o
  16. Yeah, another digital face, this one from Spain. It was quite a pleasant surprise to find the game. I was really obsessive with Pokémon during my childhood, but it stopped being fun when I wanted the effort of grinding lvl 100 mons to be rewarded with being able to beat other people with them - which wouldn't happen because no one else played it around - that was at the time of Red Fire/Green Leaf. A few years later the online generation arrived, but my obsessions interests had changed already. Half a life later, it's great to find (which feels like) a sequel, with a much more mature and interesting story and real challenges, even If the generational gap forces me to open Bulbapedia to check the new mons' type and stats almost every battle. After several hours of playing a day and not few ragequits, I'm at 9 badges, with mixed feelings of accomplishment, frustration and a raging need of KNOWING WHAT HAPPENS NEXT, EVEN THOUGH THE ******** OF [insert any boss here] WON'T LET ME. ...And of course, I want to maximize my chances of getting closer to a possible true ending, so I'm actually raging moar beating the optional bosses too. Have a good day, and expect to see me in the Minecraft server soon.
