Always? Hmm, I believe that there are some exceptions to this rule. For example, what if removing the second electron would cause the atom to completely fill (or half fill) its largest orbital, a much more stable form than some weird incomplete orbital; generally though, your logic reigns true. Whenever you have a character, you must do your best to constantly remind us that they are human. It's okay if you want to create a sense of mystery like you did with the chase sequence before you introduced as to Allison, but once you formally introduce us, you should try to fulfill that obligation.

I feel like it was done so in order to introduce Allison and Thomas, but since you were using 3rd person PoV, it shouldn't of been needed. Short as it be, I'll comment on a thing or two. In each part of the story, when you were focusing on either set of character(s), the opposing faction wasn't really perceived as human. When you focused on Avery, I honestly thought Allison was the name of some inhumane menace. When you switched to Allison and Thomas, Avery no longer felt human. For the last few months I think I've been hearing one scratching at my wall trying to intrude via my bedroom. I don't know if it's driving me insane or if I was hallucinating long ago. The issue probably was when the game was first released, it was only looked upon my those niche Indie Gamers who were open to simplistic graphics and mechanics. I mean, I liked Earthbound and went to it for comparisons with that. Kind of like how I would not like Earthbound Beginnings whatsoever if it wasn't attached to Earthbound.
