  1. I was right, after all. The reason why Chisa set up so many death flags in EP8 is because she would get brainwashed by Junko.

    I, for one, welcome our new Chisa overlord.

    That episode was horrifying, but it's good to know that Zetsubou-hen is keeping up the pace, unlike Mirai-hen. We only have, like, 2 episodes left, right? I think that's enough to show the class 77 kids getting brainwashed.

    The revelation that the brainwashed people are very much conscious and aware of what they're doing, but unable to control themselves, is by far the creepiest part to me. Just imagine the possibilities: Teruteru loves his mother, right? Boom, Junko orders him to kill her. He can't stop himself, but he's aware of what he's doing. He would be effectively trapped in his own body.

  2. Is it late for sugestion? If no then!

    Noibat

    HP: 40-->50

    Noibat need +10 to all of his stats... for easier training

    Noivern

    BST: 535-->565

    It's not too late, you can send suggestions anytime! I'll only add suggestions sent after the beta release in the V2 release, though, since otherwise they wouldn't get tested. And I definitely agree with the Noibat buff, it's weak even by first stage Pokémon standards.

  3. It's been a while since the last update, hasn't it? Progress on Miracle has been going at a good pace, so the beta version will most likely be released around mid-to-late September.

    I haven't talked much about the overall story even though Miracle is quite plot-heavy, so this update is pretty much about the game's lore and some foreshadowing. So, without further ado...

    Atlas' deities

    Atlas' most important myth is centered around four guardian deities that protect the region. They are the main mystery of the game and what the player character is initially supposed to research. The guardian deities are, respectively:

    The embodiment of the sun, inhabiting the Solen Volcano in Atlas' northwest. Its domains include proactive behavior, foresight and scientific progress. As such, it has little regard for conservative behavior.

    The avatar of the earth, residing in the opposite side of the region in the Gaia Temple. A very traditional god, it's associated with wisdom through hindsight, reactive behavior and protection of the region's culture.

    The personification of the moon, dwelling deep within the Selene Lake in the region's southwest, close to the player character's hometown. Revered as a peacekeeper, its main traits include clarity of mind, empathy and flexibility.

    The incarnation of the void, living in the depths of Umbra Island in Atlas' northeast. A mysterious, feared god, its domains include self-understanding, caution and protective behavior.

    As it's your mission to study about Atlas' gods, you should look for someone who's informed about the subject. That's how the guardians enter the plot, of course. However, there are more people who research about them, each for their own purposes. The one who's the most accessible? Your senior, of course! Blake has been doing this for much longer than you, so he already knows lots of things about the region's legends. In fact, proving yourself to be a reliable workmate is the easiest way to bond with him. Proving yourself to be unreliable, though...

    The guardians

    Each deity has their own guardian, tasked with serving their god and passing down their knowledge through the generations. In a lot of ways, they're similar to priests and Lorekeepers. As the Atlas region became more and more militarized, they were given important political positions, though not all of them are Gym Leaders. The four guardians are central characters in Pokémon Miracle, so you'll hear about them quite often.

    The evil team

    While their identity is a spoiler, Miracle's evil team has already been foreshadowed. After all, Atlas's backstory involves a war that completely changed the region, right?

  4. If the traitor is one of the survivors and not the mysterious extra person, I think this episode confirms their identity.

    Ruruka's killer hated her, that's for sure. This means we can safely rule out Naegi (main character), Munakata (likes quick killing techniques, like slashing the throat and decapitating) and Asahina (interacted with Ruruka exactly once). That leaves exactly one survivor.

    Ryota was there when Ruruka attempted to kill Kirigiri, killed Kizakura, brainwashed Juzo and got outed for killing Izayoi. Considering that he appears to be our Komaeda expy, with all the weird morality issues that this implies, he'd probably think that Ruruka deserves to die. Also, since this is the fifth case, we can make a checklist of the expected plot points:

    * Brutal death (Mukuro, Komaeda, Ruruka)

    * Deuteragonist dies (Kirigiri on the bad route, Komaeda and Nanami, Kirigiri again)

    * Impossible case (Mukuro was killed before the fifth case, Komaeda arranged a suicide by cop to frame Nanami, Ruruka's case looks like a closed room murder)

    * None of the deaths are exactly what they seem (Mukuro was killed by Junko, Kirigiri was innocent, Naegi survives, Komaeda arranged the whole thing so Nanami would kill him, Nanami was an AI). We can see something that looks a lot like Seiko's medicine stuff rolling away from Kirigiri's corpse and Ruruka's death looks very similar to Kirigiri's fakeout, since both scenes are overwhelmingly red and look straight out of Higurashi.

    * The result of the fifth case is a very bad thing for the mastermind. In DR1, Junko let it slip that she was getting desperate. In DR2, Nanami's death united the group. If my theory is correct, in DR3, the traitor just outed himself.

  5. RIP in pieces Ruruka

    This episode confirmed all my worries about Mirai-hen: There's nobody left to root for. The only surviving characters are the protagonist, the villain, the protagonist's only chance at surviving and Ryota, who's either the traitor or a red herring. Ruruka and Juzo could've had character development, but nooo, death time. I thought it would get interesting when Komaru was introduced, but then she's just written out of the plot by Gekkobot so Munakata can gloat over Kirigiri's death. I do wonder how Kodaka's going to write the reveal of the traitor, Naegi vs Munakata, the Togami subplot and the Hajime subplot in 3 episodes, though.

    tl;dr Mirai-hen suffers from a major case of Darkness-Induced Audience Apathy, all character development scenes end in death and the last 3 episodes are going to be immensely rushed. At least we got Chisa's NG Code from this, though that makes her even more suspicious.

  6. Mega Leafeon

    HP: 65 -> 65

    Attack: 110 -> 150 (+40)

    Defense: 130 -> 140 (+10)

    Special Attack: 60

    Special Defense: 65 -> 95 (+30)

    Speed: 95 -> 115 (+20)

    BST: 525 -> 625

    Ability: Technician

    New moves: Bulldoze, Rock Tomb

    Totally not based on the buff I gave to Leafeon in Miracle. While Technician doesn't help Leafeon with STAB, since a boosted Razor Leaf is slightly weaker than Leaf Blade, it does help with coverage. The new moves give it accurate pseudo-EdgeQuake coverage, and it already gets Aerial Ace and Bite. The stat spread boosts what Leafeon already has (high attack and defense, good speed) and patches up its low Special Defense stat.

  7. Well, about the traitor, I think we can safely rule out Ruruka and Juzo. I don't think the former would go for a copycat murder if she was the traitor herself, and the latter is too stupid to be a mastermind.

    The Munakata confrontation in EP8 makes me worried about Asahina, though. I mean, we all know he's off his rocker, so the "despair" he talked about could very well be Naegi, but he did establish that he knows the traitor isn't him. Ryota looks too obvious to be anything other than a red herring, but he and Chisa are still my main bets.

  8. A couple thoughts:

    - Pidgey line special attack boosted to 50/75/100. Learns Swift during level-up.

    - Venonat line retyped to Bug/Psychic.

    - Primeape line learns Outrage during level-up.

    - Seel line retyped to Ice/Fairy. Learns Disarming Voice and Dazzling Gleam during level-up.

    - Tyrogue line retyped to Fighting/Dragon. Hitmonlee and Hitmonchan learn Dragon Rush during level-up. Hitmontop learns Dual Chop during level-up. Tyrogue can learn Dragon Dance at Lv. 40, otherwise cannot be learned if evolved earlier. (Admittedly this might make Hitmontop really broken with Technician-boosted Dual Chops...)

    - Noctowl line retyped to Flying/Psychic. Special Attack boosted to 90.

    - Yanma line retyped to Bug/Dragon. Now learns Dragon Breath and Dragon Pulse during level-up.

    - Plusle retyped to Electric/Fire. Learns Incinerate by level-up, and can learn Flamethrower through TM.

    - Minun retyped to Electric/Ice. Learns Icy Wind by level-up, and can learn Ice Beam through TM.

    - Manectric (note: NOT Electrike) retyped to Electric/Ice. Learns Ice Fang instead of Fire Fang during level-up. Additionally learns Aurora Beam and Ice Beam during level-up. Loses the ability to learn Flamethrower and Overheat through TM, but gains Blizzard and Hail.

    - Beautifly retyped to Bug/Fairy. Learns Fairy Wind and Dazzling Gleam during level-up.

    - Tropius retyped to Grass/Dragon. Learns Dragon Pulse and Earth Power during level-up.

    - Glaceon learns Extrasensory during level-up. (Glaceon is theoretically strong but she gets virtually no type coverage, and her abilities don't really help.)

    - Staraptor retyped to Flying/Fighting.

    - Luxray line retyped to Electric/Dark.

    - Pidove line learns Wing Attack or Aerial Ace during level-up. Also learns Facade earlier. (They have a huge attack stat, but don't actually get any physical moves to take advantage of it...)

    - Ducklett line evolves at level 25 instead of 35

    - The three elemental monkies retyped to Grass/Normal, Fire/Normal, and Water/Normal. All three learn Uproar and Hyper Voice by level-up.

    - Zebstrika line retyped to Electric/Fire. Now learns Flare Blitz as its final level-up move.

    - Conkeldurr line retyped to Fighting/Rock

    - Eelektross line retyped to Electric/Poison. Learns Sludge Bomb and Poison Fang by level-up.

    - Braviary and Mandibuzz lines evolve at level 38 instead of 53.

    - Vivillion's ability changed to Adaptability

    Yeah, you can probably tell that I'm trying to get rid of redundant typings to reduce the amount of Pokemon that appear to be regional copies of each other, especially when it comes to the starter bugs and electric types...

    Your buffs are pretty interesting, especially Electric/Poison Eelektross! I'm not sure about the flavor in some of those, though. Could you explain the ones that I bolded? Especially Manectric, the fact that it learns so many Fire moves makes it very unique among Electric-types.

    By the way, I'm going to add an area in the beta release where you can test the buffed Pokémon, so I'd like to hear your thoughts about the ones currently in the list! In my opinion, Octillery looks pretty promising, and I'm a bit worried about Sunflora and Bellossom being too similar.

  9. Just watched the new episode with Spanish subtitles!

    There isn't a lot of information that you wouldn't be able to guess without subtitles. Basically, Monaca's an accomplice of the true mastermind aaaaand she gave up. Seriously, she got bored of hope vs despair and threw herself into outer space. Considering that this is Dangan Ronpa, she's probably going to survive that. I mean, Junko survived getting launched into outer space inside an iron maiden, so Monaca can survive that inside a van.

    Also, I wouldn't be surprised if Munakata going after Kirigiri turns out to be yet another fakeout.

  10. erm did laura all ready disapear when she told charolette that she was booted for the elite 4 back in e13 or 14?

    which also leads me to my second question

    did we ever get introduced or meet all of the E4 yet?

    Bennet possibly replaces laura, El is there, is possible that anna is there best on when we first met anna and noel in the orfanage but we dont really know who the last remaining member is yet do we?

    Heather has been confirmed as a member of the E4

  11. Except for the fact that as of this moment Team Meteor may be justified in their actions, since the humans of the Reborn region are actually the invaders of the region, and Team Meteor being the ones to try and restore it to whatever it was previously. So as of this moment due to us not knowing what their endgame goal is, we can't say that they're actually evil, just that the methods they use are very harsh, though this may be a case of them believing that the end justifies the means, to whatever utopia(?) they're trying to create.

    That only really counts for Solaris, El and maybe ZEL, though. Lin's faction just wants power, Blake is only in it for the lulz and Taka is afraid of going against family tradition.

  12. Let's be fair here, everyone and their mother guessed that Izayoi was next.

    I think the theory about the attacker alternating is still pretty solid. Gozu is the perfect candidate for putting Chisa in the chandelier, since that'd require some strength, and Izayoi would have a very obvious reason to kill Seiko. The most solid part of this theory is Gozu's murder, though, since that would make Tengan his murderer. Who was established right after that murder to be far stronger than he looks like and to know the traitor's secret? Yup, Tengan. Kirigiri also made a point to mention that he didn't look tired at all.

    If this theory is right, Izayoi was murdered either by Asahina, since she's the one whose death in the intro involves stabbing, or by Ruruka, since Izayoi's NG code is obviously eating sweets. Asahina doesn't make much sense, since she would be devastated by killing someone and that would mean there were two attackers on a single night. Ruruka makes a lot of sense, but I think she'd react quite strongly to killing her own boyfriend. Other options are Munakata, since the sword he uses to stab Chisa's corpse doesn't look like his katana, and Monaca, because she's Monaca.
