Im making a test file for the suggested changes (since i just finished Gen 6)

    Im looking at some pokemon:

Banette: I think your idea of using the Doll to evolve it is really neat, but i don't know if it fits with the Normal type, the changes i thought for it are basically transform it into a physical Gengar.

Blaziken: I think Moxie will still make it broken, so.. i dk about it, maybe Defiant or Justified?

Serperior : Either Regenerator, Wonder Skin, Shed Skin or Unaware would fit its style i think.

EDIT: Finished the list, want me to PM or post it here ?

Feel free to send me the list, if you're still interested! Either option is fine.

Hello, everyone! I've been through some Extra Rough Times, so I haven't had time to make a status update until now.

Now that Gen 7 has been released, the new Pokémon can be added to the list. They haven't been properly tested, though, so I'll be extra careful with the buffs. Spoilers below!

    Spoiler

The four most underwhelming Alolan Pokémon seem to be Lycanroc-Midnight, Lurantis, Vikavolt and Crabominable.

Vikavolt was easy to fix. Its biggest issue is its low Speed, which can be remedied by Surge Surfer in Electric Terrain.

Lycanroc-Midnight is supposed to be a bulky Rock-type. The problem is, not only are most Rock-types slow and bulky, but its defenses are... average. However, since its Pokédex entries mention how much it loves to fight and its "signature" move is Counter, I figured that it'd make sense to turn it into a Rock/Fighting type. The type combination also works with Lycanroc-Midday, and it'd be unfair to leave it with only one type while Midnight gets two.

Lurantis has the fabled Contrary + Leaf Storm combo and a Special Attack slightly higher than Serperior's, but no tools to use it with. Power Trip works along with that, as it becomes stronger with each Leaf Storm. The Dark typing is supposed to reference its whole theme of disguising itself, as it's an orchid pretending to be a mantis, along with its haughty personality and habit of making surprise attacks. The 4x Bug weakness, while not intentional, it a nice touch. Finally, Tinted Lens is a reference to its design's origin- Its red eyes are based on literal rose-tinted glasses. I was tempted to give it Superpower, but I'll wait until move tutors get released. The speed buff makes its BST equal to Tsareena's.

And last, but not least, is Crabominable. The Ice/Fighting combination has great coverage and, along with its Attack stat and Iron Fist, allows it to wreck Flying-types, Rock-types and Steel-types that threaten both its types... In theory. In practice, Crabominable is quite frail and very slow, meaning that it might be knocked out before these good traits can be used. It's also hit hard by the Miracle buffs, since it faces direct competition from Beartic. In fact, I haven't figured out how to give it a niche over Beartic yet...

  2. Leo watched in wordless horror as the flames spread around the auditorium. The blazing, suffocating air around him and the feeling of hopelessness brought back painful memories and, with them, came the realization that, even though he chose to come back to Auster and fight, he wasn't ready at all for what awaited him. The inventor fled, following the shapeshifter's extended arms into the tunnel.

  3. Hello, everyone! It's time for a small update before the demo gets released. It was supposed to be finished around September, but some personal stuff got in the way. But, now that these issues have been mostly solved, let's get back to business!

V1 will feature 6 terrains. They should all be familiar, since 4 of them are based on the canon ones and the other two are based on common RPG scenarios. The last terrain might be a little spoilerish if you're not up to date on Sun/Moon content!

V1 Terrains (Small Generation 7 spoilers):

    u7ydRTD.png

    Electric Terrain

A rather basic terrain that benefits the Electric type. Electric moves are powered up and Pokémon on the ground can't fall asleep. Additionally, it powers up moves and abilities that involve magnetic fields.

    AibP1bG.png

    Grassy Terrain

A terrain that benefits the Grass type. Grass moves are powered up and all Pokémon on the ground are healed by a small amount on the end of each turn.

    ygFkSP8.png

    Misty Terrain

A terrain that benefits the Fairy type. It weakens Dragon-type moves and protects all Pokémon from status. A very volatile terrain, it can be removed or transformed in many ways.

    ICpi3il.png

    Forest

A terrain that benefits the Grass and Bug types. Moves belonging to these types, or associated with them, are powered up.

    ytvTKOf.png

    Water Surface

A terrain that benefits the Water type. Water moves are powered up and all grounded non-Water Pokémon without the ability Swift Swim have their speed halved. While very common in water routes, it's quite rare outside of them.

    FLArRhH.png

    Psychic Terrain

The new addition from Gen 7 is a terrain that benefits the Psychic type. Along with powering up Psychic moves, it prevents priority moves from working.

  4. Leo arrived a few minutes before the deadline. Aside from minor dark circles under his eyes and the occasional yawning, he looked like he'd slept very well. Intending to listen attentively to Sylva's speech, he chose a seat in the front row and waited for time to pass.

  5. Thanks!, i'll write suggestions for other gens then.

About Delibird, it was the way of making it less bad without breaking it's identity, i thought of 2 changed for it:

The said buffs and making it unable to learn any other move but "Present", so it would be kinda usable but still a sort of "joke" pokemon.

Or just adjusting it's HP, and making it a Rain Dance/Hail /Substitute /Spikes / (Etc) setter, with swift swim, snow cloak or healer.

So support or normal combat pokemon is what i thought.

I see the point about Blissey HP, but she also has a extremely good movepool and is more focused into Sp.Def.

I agree that some buffs might be too subtle, i focused bigger buffs in the least used (weaker) pokemon.

Were you thinking about changing the level in which pokemon evolve?, i think buffs to pokemon like Butterfree could be bigger if the evolved latter, unless you want to keep them slightly weaker to give a reason to change pokemon later on (besides personal prefference)

Venomoth already does learn psychic moves though, it could be made into Poison/Psychic, and Butterfree could additionally learn Draining Kiss and/or Moonblast, maybe with Cute Charm as an ability.

About Serperior, some options could be:

Leaf Storm only changing 1 stage (instead of 2)

Give Serperior "Defeatist" but buff it's hp.

Change Contrary with Regenerator (which is also a neat ability)

Remove Leaf Storm from its set and boost its speed (so it need less speed EVs)

EDIT: while doing Gen3 i was looking at some stats and changed Dragonite to -30 Atk, -20 Sp.Atk.

Yes, I was considering changing some Pokémon's evolution methods! I kinda did that with Shuppet, but it was just to make the Normal type more flavorful. I had something in mind for Butterfree and Beedrill, but since I didn't plan anything specific I didn't talk about it. I've added my ideas for them to the list, if you're interested! (Delibird's also there, I thought that it'd be quite interesting as a support Pokémon and Fighting-type check for Monoice teams.)

Swapping Venomoth's Bug type makes even less sense, in my opinion. I think that it's more flavorful as it currently is, since both of its types fit perfectly. Besides, Bug/Psychic is a downgrade defensively. I really hope that we get a Poison/Psychic type some day, though, it just sounds cool.

Also, about Serperior, I don't really know what to do with it. With Contrary, it's one of the strongest starters (after it gets Leaf Storm, that is). Without it, though, it's at the bottom of the barrel since even Meganium has better offenses. Abilities can't stack and changing Leaf Storm's effect would have a far bigger effect than just nerfing Serperior, so these are not viable choices. Removing Leaf Storm from its moveset would render Contrary completely useless, especially since its semi-signature move, Coil, just doesn't work with it, and changing its ability to Regenerator would make it a bad Tangrowth. I considered making it learn Leaf Storm later and making it more of a physical attacker until it can start abusing Contrary, since its physical moveset is awesome, but I can't play around too much with its stats since it's a starter, so it'd be stuck with base 75 Attack. I think that it might be better to watch how it adapts to the game, since its niche is incredibly unique.

Also, I'm looking forward to seeing your complete list!

Oooh, I never thought of a fighting dark Zoroark. That's really cool. I'm happy Absol's getting fairy though, when I first learned about new typings for Pokemon I was really hoping Absol would get it along with Zoroark alas, Nintendo didn't.

I am getting super excited for this game.

Thanks! If you have any other ideas for Pokémon changes, feel free to tell me!

  6. So, I have never seen anybody giving Druddigon some love. Probably because it's speed is abysmal. It has some neat abilities with Rough Skin and Sheer Force, though. The secret ability is Mold Breaker, which is arguably useful.

Anyway, with a few tweaks, one might be able to make the thing viable. I've always been interested in using it, but since the Bulbapedia stat-chart makes me cringe everytime I look at it, I haven't done so already. Keep in mind that I'm not really an expert when it comes to competitive movesets and stuff like that. It's merely an opinion, after all.

    1.) HP: 77 》80

ATK: 120, good enough.. really. It just can't use it.

    DEF: 90 》100

    Sp. ATK: 60 》40

    Sp. DEF: 90

    SpD: That's it's biggest problem. 48 》70.

    BST: 485 》500

2.) - Dragon Dance is available as an Egg Move.. or through a level up. I think the latter one would make Druddigon a little too powerful if you can set it up. Though, it should be a good Pokèmon in the late-game when you have decent breeding assets available. Sure, stuff like Dragonite and RAWRchomp still are better.. but at least the thing is somewhat viable with those changes. The speed-stat actually allows it to outspeed quite a few Pokèmon.. it shares it's speed-stat with Magneton, btw. I deem that good enough. (If you want to make DD available through a level-up, I'd suggest you put it near the mid 50's or the early 60's. Perhaps inbetween Superpower and Outrage at Lv. 58.. maybe even after Outrage at Lv. 70, even if that's a little ridiculous.)

3.) Make the elemental bites available from the start so you can get neat coverage when you visit the move relearner.. namely Poison Fang, Fire Fang, Thunder Fang and Ice Fang. Or scratch Poison Fang, just a suggestion.

4.) Make the typing a little more useful; Maybe Dragon-Dark, Dragon-Rock (Wouldn't recommend. Makes this thing weaker as it is. Or Dragon-Fighting.) My personal favorites are Dragon-Dark and Dragon-Fighting. Solely because a Pokémon with this fighting doesn't exist yet and would make Druddigon a little more unique between all those other powerful Dragon types.

Anyway, before I start making this thing overpowered, I better quit. Hope you like it.

These buffs look pretty interesting! I'm still having some doubts about its type, since its moveset is so weird and a Dragon/Fighting type Pokémon actually exists now. I'm probably not going to buff it too much, since it's going to be even more outclassed if it's only available at the late-game, but I'll see what I can do about it!

I got a few more sudgestions

    Paras line
    (Paras)
    +25 to sp attack
    +20 to speed
    gets Infestation via lvl 11
    (Parasect)
    + 35 to sp attack
    + 40 to speed
gets Struggle bug via lvl 24
gets Weather ball via lvl 40
gets drizzle as its hidden ability
    Dunsparce
    Becomes part dragon
    + 30 to attack
    + 25 to speed
gets Dragon tail via lvl 1
gets Dragon dance via lvl 40 (replaces endure)
gets Dragon rush via lvl 52

Some of your suggestions from the first post already got added, like the Onix one! I don't get the Parasect buff, though. I get that its 4x Fire weakness makes it pretty unviable and that, as a fungus, it likes humid places, but summoning rain is a bit weird.

Im making a list for this, currently i just finished Gen 2, tell me if you like these kind of changes, if you do i'll suggest more for the other gens.

    - Maybe its just me, but anyone else finds Leaf Storm Serperior (contrary) kinda OP ?

I like these buffs! Pokémon like Luvdisc and Magcargo need all the help they can get and I totally missed things that make perfect sense, like giving Ninetales Morning Sun. I gave the Koffing line the Fire type because their gases are very flammable, which is why they have the whole explosion theme. Wigglytuff got Fur Coat since most of its Pokédex entries mention its fur, and I'm contemplating replacing it with Fluffy once Gen 7 gets released. Also, while it's nice that most of your buffs are small and sensible, some of them are too small, like the +5 Speed boost on Donphan.

I don't think Venomoth works as a Bug/Psychic type, since learning Psychic moves is kind of a butterfly thing in Pokémon and it's all about venomous scales, and, while Serperior can be quite game-breaking with Contrary Leaf Storm, without it it's probably one of the worst starters, so I don't know what to do about it.

By the way, was the Delibird buff supposed to be +25 HP or is it actually +205 HP? It's a junk rare Pokémon, so it does need very large buffs. Giving it Chansey's HP stat seems a bit... radical, though.

I have no idea if this would be good or not but the idea of mischievous fairies/pixies was something I always found cool, as such I was wondering what would happen if Zoroark became Fairy Dark considering fairies weren't all sweet and playful. It can't learn any fairy moves though but I always thought that would make Zoroark more "lore friendly". :P

I considered Dark/Fairy Zoroark too, actually! But, since I gave the same type to Absol (and by extension Mega Absol), I thought that Zoroark would get outclassed pretty badly. So, I gave it the Fighting-type, since it has ninja elements and is meant to be a Lucario counterpart. The other Dark/Fighting types are all slow, bulky physical attackers, so it's pretty unique when compared to them!

  7. Leo went straight to one of the dorms without bothering with introductions. While he'd be more polite in any other occasion, his body wanted nothing but to rest after the fight, so he'd have to save the niceties for later. As he approached the room, he heard a voice that, by this point, was already familiar.

"Oh, it's that boy with light manipulation." he thought, rolling his eyes. "He's not exactly someone I'd want to be around right now, but at least he's just talkative."

The first thing Leo saw as soon as he entered the room was Haruki, as expected. However, there was someone else in there: A girl that he hadn't seen before, with a peculiar assortment of colors on her hair. Realizing that they were having a conversation and that he just walked in without prior warning, he took a few steps back and knocked on the door with his elbow.

  8. Due to the pyromancer's irresponsability, the sparring matches got cancelled. That hardly mattered to Leo, though: He was appalled by the violence shown by his fellow students. Two of them had voiced interest in hurting others, the telekinetic he fought tried to break his legs and then the pyromancer tried to murder at least two people. Not only that, but as his eyes scanned the crowd he noticed that some of them looked bored. It wouldn't do him any good to worry about how terrible his set of allies was, though. Figuring that it'd be better to save those thoughts for later, Leo dusted himself off and pulled a gauze roll out of one of his bags - he was expecting fights to happen sooner of later, so it wouldn't hurt to bring first-aid equipment with him.

Sylva led them to the dorms, but the inventor wasn't in the best state of mind to appreciate the lavish decorations. The nagging suspicion that some, if not most of the people around him were completely untrustworthy pounded against his head. Also, his hands stung. Even if the burns were very light - he did have the common sense to hold back in the sparring match, after all - he should probably get them treated soon. Leo started bandaging them, so that the burns wouldn't get in his way as much.

His legs hurt a lot, too, due to the crazed telekinetic's complete lack of composure. In retrospect, it must have been quite embarrassing for her to tie with someone who held back even after she went all out. A small smirk formed on his face as he thought about that, but it vanished just as quickly once he remembered that she also got hurt from their fight. Even if she didn't deserve it, Leo decided to look for her and offer a helping hand.

  9. this looks really interesting from what i have read

    good lob so far

Thank you! There will be more updates coming, so stay tuned!

This sounds nice! Looking to be very unique so far! Can't wait to hear more.

And the MCs share my Birthday!

Found that to be an ironic detail.

Thanks! Also, happy (almost 2 weeks late) birthday!

This looks so awesome! The love the idea of the four gods and not to mention the new typings and changes to the normal Pokemon! If you ever need another tester I'd be happy to help.

Welcome aboard! The game is almost ready for testing, so stay tuned for the beta release. If you have any suggestions for Pokémon changes, or anything else, feel free to tell me!

By the way, I have some new screenshots:

  10. My opinion on Titania and her arc is that, while the concept is nice, the execution is very weak. She's brought up as a subversion of fairy tale tropes, but she doesn't do that effectively.

    * Damsel in Distress: Titania does not subvert this. She's not a badass woman who pulls herself up by her bootstraps, especially not in EP15. Remember, before the player character went down the waterfall, Titania did nothing other than murdering grunts that got close to her. She wasn't even able to get out of the first room by herself. Then, later on, she pretty much goes all Leeroy Jenkins on the Meteor grunts and gets herself baited multiple times by Taka. She was entirely helpless during the whole thing.

    * Knight in Shining Armor: Titania does subvert this trope, but the way she does it is really shallow. The whole "Meteor will stop at nothing to achieve their goals, so why should I?" falls flat quickly because Titania doesn't have a goal. She just flails around aimlessly, blaming Meteor for her problems, blaming Amaria for her problems, and doing nothing to help anyone, not even herself. Yes, she was trying to save Amaria, but then what? If Amaria kept her memories, the whole thing would just happen again. And we saw what happens if Amaria loses her memories: Titania, instead of helping her friend, just runs away.

    * Incorruptible Pure Goodness: Titania suffers from "Subversive fairy tale rewriting" syndrome. The darkness that she's supposed to represent is never fully explored, so she just comes across as rude and violent for the sake of being rude and violent. Like I mentioned before, her whole speech about paying evil unto evil doesn't hold water because this visionary point of view doesn't go well with her single most defining and consistent piece of characterization: Her short-sightedness. In fact, the main problem with this trope is Saphira: She has the same "pay evil unto evil" ideology, but in her case it's justified: She's spent her whole life protecting her sisters from Sigmund, after all. Titania, by comparison, murders people just because she wants to.

If I were to describe Titania, I'd say that she's quite pathetic as a person. Her short-sightedness always gets the best of her and she has a need to blame other people for her mistakes, as shown with the Meteor grunts, the player character, Florinia and Amaria. She'd be an excellent character if these traits were explored. In fact, I hope that this is where her character development goes! However, her flaws are completely overshadowed by "cool badass sword lady", so much that I had to take some serious liberties with what we've been shown of her to write about them.

  11. The satisfaction of landing a hit on his target was quickly replaced by worry as Leo realized that the battle wasn't quite over yet. Aria's flail-like weapon rapidly approached his back and, due to her telekinetic powers, he couldn't move out of its way. He could try to redirect it with a magnetic field, but that wouldn't be easy to pull off, especially given how tired he was. Any option would result in his defeat. However, getting completely pinned to the ground would be quite embarrassing for someone as prideful as him, so he chose to go down swinging.

Leo formed a repulsive magnetic field around himself to keep the chain suspended in mid-air. It slowly lost momentum, stopping right before the gem portion hit his back. He let out a sigh of relief once he realized that it was no longer moving, although he knew that, by this point, the battle was already over for him. He was too tired to keep fighting, so he might as well have been knocked out.

  12. The metal pin hit its target precisely, but it did very little to slow her down. Leo's plan didn't go completely off the rails, though: Aria was getting angry. She would just charge ahead carelessly, giving him a chance to counterattack. Since her weird telekinetic Lumen appeared to be able to weigh things down, given that she used it to stop Jev but didn't attack anyone else, he disassembled his gauntlets, keeping each individual piece floating around him. They were pretty heavy, after all, and the whole strategy would fall apart if he was pinned to the ground by his own hands.

As soon as Aria shouted, Leo fell to his knees, weighed down by the intense gravity. He closed his eyes and raised his left hand with difficulty, charging another electric pulse. However, his attack wasn't a precise, controlled energy shot. He needed his gauntlets to do that, they were tools he used to overcome his Lumen's biggest shortcoming: Its instability. Static charges leap from an object with high potential to one with low potential, so he couldn't just aim them on his own. However, there was an object with low potential right where he wanted it: The electrified pin stuck in Aria's arm.

With a bright flash of light, a small-scale lightning bolt formed in Leo's hand and moved towards his foe's left forearm. There was hardly any need to aim, it would hit the target on its own. As soon as it was over, Leo opened his eyes and winced, feeling some light burns on his left hand.

  13. I agree, it's a shame. It would have been an interesting concept.

Also I've been lurking around this thread for a while! I really like what I've seen, your game looks very promising. By the way, like Zumi mentioned, the map you showed is a bit empty and very square. It'd look a lot better if the trees were more spread around!

  14. Even though the prideful girl dodged the attack and lifting the shapeshifter meant he was too tired to pull out any complex stunts, the whole situation was somewhat beneficial to Leo. Jev was out of commission for a while and Aria had to reveal her Lumen: Some sort of telekinesis, though there had to be a limitation that forced her to attack at a close range. Knowing that wouldn't be enough to win, though: His foe was still approaching and that last attack almost burned him out completely, meaning that he was very lacking in options. Leo needed a good plan.

Generating an electric current and storing it in two of his metal pins, he created a small-scale version of what he tried to do by throwing Jev at her. However, she'd dodge that easily, so he needed something else, something more eye-catching. His energy shots would do the trick. Aiming both gauntlets at her, he fired twice in a way that would be easy to avoid if Aria simply moved to either side. Then, controlling the electrified pins carefully, he fired them at each side of her, so that they'd hit her legs if she moved. That way, she wouldn't be able to redirect all attacks with her Lumen at once, since it appeared to require her to stand still. This time, he was sure that she wouldn't be saved by dumb luck.

  15. this sounds really good, specially some of the changes like the chikorita one, i like chikorita's looks, but it's set left something to be desired to it's kit, i think your changes might have nailed it, specially making it fairy.

whats the competition percentage so far ?

61%! I should have included that on the main post a while ago, but now it's been taken care of.

  16. Time for a new character! She's not very important early on, but as the story progresses she steadily becomes more prominent. This may sound a little weird, but it's fairly easy to understand once you know what her role is.

    Carina Mont'alverne

Age: 31 (Born on August 9)

    Ranking: Fighting-type Elite Four member

The Gym Leaders rule over the towns they reside in. However, since the number of leaders and the number of towns don't match up, some cities are governed by other members of the league. Carina used to be the Gym Leader of Cepheus City, but her promotion would leave the city unattended. So, as a way to get around this issue, she still resides in her old Gym as the unofficial leader.

Carina is a wise leader who looks out for those under her command. However, she's somewhat withdrawn and rarely interacts with people other than in a superficial level. While this earns her a reputation as a secluded, mystical sage, it also makes her very intimidating.

Along with Elite 4 members, you will also be able to see high-ranking trainers whose talent is recognized by the league and, as such, are regarded as Gym Leaders in training. The first five successors, ranked by their talent as both fighters and rulers, will be featured quite prominently in Pokémon Miracle, since all of them are main characters.

  17. Leo let out a groan of vexation at the wasted opportunities, but quickly collected himself and started charging a powerful blast aimed at the ground, in order to give himself time to get away from the prideful girl - seeing as she didn't do anything yet other than approaching her targets, her Lumen was obviously short-ranged. However, a weak glare, whose intensity was reduced slightly since it was reflected by his glasses, caught the corner of his eye. Light manipulation. The young inventor could feel his skin crawl in indignation once he realized that not only he missed, but he also got his two targets to gang up on him.

However, a loud sound brought him back to his senses. He quickly realized who was the only person that could have made that noise and, remembering his assailant's current form, used his own metallokinesis to lift Jev up. Right before throwing him at Aria, though, Leo gave him a light tap on the shoulder, releasing an electric pulse into the shapeshifter's highly conductive body that was just strong enough to immobilize him for a minute or two.

Unfortunately for him, that convoluted maneuver was exhausting. The electromancer made a hasty escape to the southernmost part of the arena, where the other metallokinetic was standing at the beginning of the fight, while both his foes were distracted by each other.

  18. The electric pulse exploded as it hit the ground, scattering a cloud of dust in all directions. Using the opportunity to survey the area, Leo quickly realized that his intended target was a metallokinetic just like him. Not only that, but the two other people on the left side of the arena were a pyrokinetic and a shapeshifter. Seeing that all three of them were distracted, he turned his attention to the other fighters, the prismatic boy - whose Lumen would be incredibly annoying to deal with if left unchecked - and a girl who was apparently confident enough in her abilities to waste her time walking slowly in the middle of the battlefield. Opening both his palms, he charged an electric pulse through his gauntlets and shot two smaller, but faster energy blasts in their direction, this time aiming at their chests instead of at their feet.

  19. Leo quickly raised his right arm, pointing his open palm at the man right in front of him. The metal pins disguised as knuckledusters suddenly started floating around him as an electric pulse traveled through his gauntlet and condensed into a pulsating, white sphere of energy. Leo changed his posture in order to brace himself against the recoil, then fired the energy shot at his target's feet in an attempt to quickly incapacitate him.
