Better than team flare that's for sure. Ugh worst team ever.
Simon was pretty legit in that I actually had a bit of sympathy for him. Sirius is weird though, like at first he seems(and looks) like the big boss but then he isn't and I feel like his character gets a bit overshadowed by the other admins/leaders.
-Solaris is established as incredibly ruthless and perhaps the most evil character so far through his actions on mt Pyrous.
-ZEL is rather unique being 3 people in one each with their own personality
-Lin's appearance is brief, but shows her as being very mysterious in her connection with the other characters and how inhumanly cold she is. I think her and florinia have some history together.
-El is a delusional, manipulative zealot
-Taka is rather affable and probably the least evil of Meteor.
-Blake and Fern are massive jerks
But Siruis so far isn't too distinct character wise and feels like the typical subservient evil underling. His design rocks but he doesn't quite live up to how I initially imagined him from his debut. But maybe that's the point and he might end up betraying everyone else or something as far as I know(him or Taka).

He was a pain the first playthrough.
But pronija should make it easier this time around.

Honestly all of them are pretty likable except maybe Aya who complains too much, Terra who is love it or hate it. Titania comes off as kind of mean though and okay Corey is pretty unlikable I guess. If I had to rank them(thus far) it'd go, including ex-leaders,
Love em: Charlotte, Randomus, Sapphira, Julia, Shelly
Like em: Hardy, Samson, Luna, Shade, Flobot, Amaria, Kiki, flying lady, Serra, Adrienne, Cal
indifferent: Noel,Titania, Aya,
least favorites: Blake, Corey,Terra,
All of them add quite a lot to the game though, even the ones I like less. Charlotte and Sapphira are like the most badass female trainers ever. Even Corey has a rather cool mement where he comes back as a Gengar to kick your ass especially when you considered how you failed to keep Heather safe and ended up getting her traumatized.
Charlotte is not only powerful but has some of the best lines too and a neat backstory.

Having my team wiped out by Cain's Muk due to minimize takes the cake this playthrough.
-
I knew that was an event but had no idea how to trigger it.
I forget, where is the psychiatrist again? I cannot remember where he is.
-
I don't have it but this playthrough I'm finding so many more little things by observing like every rock I see lol.I have a stone of every almost type so far except dusk.
-
But if you're not using Proninja, would Kecleon be viable then? Kecleon's worth isn't in comparison to Greninja alone.
-
Yea which means Mewtwo is HARD unless you're like me who gave golurk a quick claw and just soft reset until it activated to curse stalled him to death.
-
@ Lostale: I was able to get off the island but thanks. anyway. I think instead when you black out you should head to the nearest recovery center instead of the last visited one so stuff like this won't happen.
Man to further emphasize how much this defeat sucked this same team beat Aya first attempt without even using the full set. Somehow Cain gave me more trouble than Aya.
-
Actually this is a bigger deal than I realized, as upon arriving at the swamp island no one in my party has cut. Now if my current party was unable to learn it, wouldn't that ruin my file?
-
Battle before bysboxian gate, I get Cain down to his last pokemon with relatively little trouble and have a double calm mind boosted swoobat which brings him down to red with psychic and he uses minimize. He heals so I figure to go for another boost to one shot for good. Of course next turn psychic misses and he disables it. Annoying but air cutter should do it right?
Miss. He minimizes again.
MISS. He minimizes once more.
MISS MISS MISS MISS until he kills swoobat with sludge bomb. Annoying but I still have 4 other healthy pokemon who can do this right? I mean at least one of them has to hit, right?
WRONG
I miss literally like 15 moves straight, hit once with crunch from arbok that barely does damage and end up losing the entire match because of freakin Muk.. Oh and apparently the last center I used was on the swamp island :/ Like Muk isn't even his ace mon, so it's doubly insulting.

I feel like field effects are a core part of Reborn's character. The story knows when to take itself seriously yet laugh at itself too, which is what makes it fun.
^Youtube comments are a cesspool unfortunately and prone to extreme circlejerking.

I used Ari first since s/he looked the most fitting for Reborn's setting, having that dystopian cyberpunk vibe to xyr. I kind of dig Vero's "street look" as it fits perfectly with the Reborn city's atmosphere. This playthrough I used kuro because I feel his look meshes most with Greninja, as he looks pretty chill.

Competitive suck =/= in-game suck though. There's a lot of early "game heroes" and pokemon that are fairly decent single player even if they aren't multiplayer. Not to mention a lot of competitive movesets aren't even available to you much of the game.
Donphan usually turns out pretty good in every game I've picked him, not even just Reborn.
-
Keep it since Noivern is solid but lesson learned, noibat is an early game zero. I regretted catching one so early since he's effectively useless early game and you can catch one at a more reasonable level to grind later on.
-
Yeah I would get down to his last 2 with like 5 mons left, he'd use blizzard with walrein and just freeze everybody. Lost the whole match to it alone TWICE.
-
Yeah we know, your team was really well built against her. Sadly, not all of us had that luxury.
-
He's good at competitive pokemon but not very good at this game TBH.
-
I thought Blake was harder than Serra honestly.
Julia is fine as she is, first gym leader who gets the player used to the mechanics and is as tough as she needs to be.
Flobot though I don't get why people struggle with at least in EP14.. Cradily isn't even that strong, just tougher than the rest of her mons. Breloom is crippled by fliers and everybody else can be dealt with pretty easily.
-
Depends whether or not you consider Darminitan worse than drought ninetales. Personally I do and consider it her biggest threat.
Unless 14.5 nerfed her again.
and dude she's easy since you knew exactly what she'd be coming at you with. For someone playing blind she's one of if not the hardest boss of the game. Disc 2 final boss IMO.
-
Guys if you're using revives during a fight you lose all right to claim it was easy since it's a huge advantage the AI completely lacks and takes away a lot of risk during battle.
-
Playing the game a 2nd playthrough I can definitely say Flobot is the easiest gym leader. Whereas I always lose against Julia at least once and it's easy for her to own your team with electrodedepending on the starter, flobot I beat first attempt both times and didn't even even use my starter. Unlike julia you're given a good amount of pokemon that can resist her attacks and cradily can easily be crippled via screech + fighting attacks or the almighty kricketune.if he's got momentum. Though to be fair when I did beat Julia it was with litleo alone, moxie man.
-
^Sigiglyph for sure. That thing is always a PITA.
-
At this point, I'd agree with her. Though from agate onwards travel can be a bit annoying.
Move animations are one thing yeah. Also swoobat's ability not working correctly, wtf.
Biggest WTF Moments in Reborn?

The vids in shade's gym. Corey's not so much but the Garchomp one since it was totally unexpected and Lin's for being so gruesome(My theory is that it's El's ditto disguised as her).
Mechanightmare because I forgot what Klinklang's cry sounded like and was like 0_0 what is that weird noise?
The pokemonsavage first time since i was like 30 levels below it lol. Same with Solaris and El.
Cal selling out to Meteor and killing Medicham. Part of the plan or not, killing pokemon is not cool.
