  1. <-- Me when I see the new leaked Pokemon

  2. Update #22: Awoken Well, Cal was a lot harder than I was expecting; his Blaziken alone took out most of my team. On TEH URN, Cal led with his Infernape, and Hemlock led with Hatsune Miku. She tanked a close combat, and was able to do massive damage with a brine. Cal used up his two ultra potions in a desperate attempt to keep it alive, but it just kept getting knocked down to a sliver of health by Hatsune Miku's brines. To my surprise, he swapped it out for his Delphox, which took some damage from a brine. Hemlock, predicting a psychic-type attack, swapped out to Evanescence- a good call, as Delphox ended up using psyshock, which did nothing to Evanescence. She then tanked a magical fire and ended the Delphox with a night slash! Up next came Cal's Mega Charizard X, and so Hemlock swapped out to Rihanna. Rihanna tanked a wing attack and a dragon claw, and managed to poison the Charizard with two sludge bombs; the Charizard tried to go in for the kill with a wing attack, but Hemlock was able to heal Rihanna with a berry ice cream, allowing her to survive the attack and causing Charizard to faint from poison damage! Cal's ace, Magmortar, came out next, and Hemlock swapped out to Queen Latifa. Queen Latifa tanked a lava plume (which lit the field on fire) and did massive damage in return with an earth power; however, the Magmortar barely survived. Expecting the Magmortar to go for the kill, Hemlock had Queen Latifa try using an attack anyway... only for Cal to swap out for his Infernape again, which fainted almost instantly! With Queen Latifa severely weakened, Hemlock swapped out to Hatsune Miku, and Cal sent out his Typhlosion. Hatsune Miku was able to do massive damage with a brine, and tanked a hidden power ice to KO it with a second brine while the Typhlosion after up a sunny day! Magmortar came back out, but it wasn't really a threat at this point; it fell to a sucker punch from one of our newer team members, The Clash the Toxicroak! All that remained was Cal's Blaziken... but hoo boy, it was a doozy. Guns N' Roses came out and hit it with a leech seed, but then fainted from a fire punch. Hatsune Miky came out next, but she fainted to a single fire punch as well. Rihanna tried her luck, but was only able to land a smoke screen before fainting to two fire punches. The RNG must have hated me, because despite the accuracy debuff the Blaziken suffered, it was still able to hit and injure The Clash severely; fortunately, she survived long enough to injure it with a poison jab. Evanescence fainted quickly to a fire punch, leaving only the seriously weakened Queen Latifa. Hemlock healed her with a berry ice cream, and she survived a high jump kick. She healed herself again with a berry ice cream, then managed to dodge a fire punch twice and KO it with an earth power! With Cal defeated, it's time to check up with Kiki again! The team so far:
  3. Update #21: Brain Damage Well, compared to Shade, ZEL was actually rather easy; Hemlock managed to beat them on her first try! On TEH URN, Hemlock led with Evanescence, and ZEL led with their Glaceon. Glaceon was able to do some serious damage with an ice beam, but it didn't really matter, since Evanescence was able to KO it with two flamethrowers! Up next came ZEL's Flareon, and so Hemlock swapped out to Queen Latifa, who promptly took it down with a single bulldoze. ...Okay, moving on... After that embarrassment, ZEL sent out their strongest Pokemon: their PULSE Muk. Hemlock swapped out to Good Charlotte, and she put the Muk to sleep with a sleep powder, and unleashed a psybeam... that did pathetically little damage. She decided to switch tactics and unleash a struggle bug, but to my surprise, ZEL swapped out to their Espeon, which took serious damage from the struggle bug! It then did some serious damage to Good Charlotte with a psychic, but she held on with just 3 HP and took it down with a signal beam! ZEL's Jolteon came out next, and Hemlock sent out Queen Latifa. It did chip damage with a signal beam, but Queen Latifa was able to OHKO it with a bulldoze, so no biggie. Running out of options, ZEL sent out their PULSE Muk again, and Queen Latifa stayed on the field. Since she had just leveled up and learned earth power, she put it to good use by taking a chunk out of the foe Muk's health. It promptly woke up and did some damage with a sludge wave, but Queen Latifa just kept spamming earth power, and when the Muk missed a mud bomb, she promptly KO'd it with an ice punch! All that remained was ZEL's Umbreon, and so Hemlock swapped out to AC/DC. The Umbreon didn't even put up much of a fight; it got flinched by a field-strengthened steamroller, and then got KO'd by a second steamroller! With ZEL defeated and the Azurine Lake kinda sorta saved, it's time to get our next badge! The team so far:
  4. Good call on Regenerator. I updated it to change the ability to Unaware (stopping Pokemon like belly drum Azumarill, swords dance mega Scizor, calm mind Clefable, nasty plot thundrus, and many more), and added the Stockpile set. Also, Tartar, I hate to burst your bubble, but you can't lower a Pokemon's HP via Mega evolution. That's the one thing you can't do.
  5. Update #20: Welcome to the Machine Well, Shade was actually really tough! Hemlock only barely managed to get by him. On TEH URN, Hemlock led with Evanescence, and Shade led with his Rotom. Rotom, despite usually being one of his toughest Pokemon to take out, went down pretty easily this time; all it did was fire off a single shadow ball, and Evanescence was able to KO it with a night slash! Up next came Shade's Golurk, so Hemlock swapped out to Guns N' Roses. He tanked a drain punch and did some damage with a razor leaf, but then Shade pulled a surprise move and swapped out to Corey, his Gengar. While it did get kinda dented by a razor leaf on the switch, it Mega Evolved and ended Guns N' Roses with a shadow ball. In response, Hemlock sent out Queen Latifa, who promptly got confused by a confuse ray and injured herself; however, she then managed to survive a shadow ball with three HP remaining, and took it out with a bulldoze! Shade's Golurk came out again, and Hemlock sent out Hatsune Miku to stop it. Unfortunately, she fainted to an earthquake, but she was able to do some damage with a brine before going down. Evanescence came back out, and while Shade used up his two ultra potions, Evanescence was able to keep spamming night slash until the colossus fell! Shade sent out his Dusknoir next, and Foo Fighters came out to stop it. Oddly, even though Shade could have easily had Dusknoir use earthquake to KO Foo Fighters he... didn't, and instead had it use shadow claw, which let Foo Fighters survive long enough to KO it with three shadow balls! Shade's arguably most threatening Pokemon- his Aegislash- came out next, and Hemlock swapped out to Alice Cooper. Unfortunately, she flinched to an iron head, and with no hope for KO'ing it, decided to spend her last turn healing Queen Latifa with a berry ice cream before fainting to an iron head. Queen Latifa was able to do massive damage to it with a bulldoze after tanking an iron head, but was left with only 13 HP, so Hemlock spent the next turn healing her with a berry ice cream, only for her to get knocked back down to 23 HP thanks to another iron head. Deciding to go for glory or death, Hemlock had Queen Latifa use bulldoze, despite knowing that Aegislash was faster than her... and shockingly, Shade swapped out to his Chandelure, which took massive damage from the Bullzdoze! Hemlock then tried healing Queen Latifa again, but she fainted pretty fast to two flamethrowers. Thus, Foo Fighters came back out, and he healed Evanescence with a super potion before fainting to a flamethrower, letting her survive a shadow ball and end it with a night slash! With Chandelure down, all that remained was the severely weakened Aegislash. As to be expected, Evanescence was able to roast it with a flamethrower, ending the fight! With Shade defeated and the power restored, we get to see... our new friends get kidnapped by Team Meteor. Yay. The team so far:
  6. Update #19: We Are The World Cain was actually pretty easy compared to Fern! On TEH URN, Hemlock led with Guns N' Roses, and Cain led with Samurott. Samurott was actually pretty anticlimactic; all it did was land a single revenge while Guns N' Roses spammed Razor leaf, and although Cain was able to slightly heal it with a super potion, it still ended up fainting to a storm of razor leaves! Cain sent out his Muk next, and so Hemlock swapped out to Queen Latifa. Muk was able to do some chip damage with a shadow sneak, but Queen Latifa was able to end it with a few bulldozes; not even the use of a super potion could save it! Cain decided to send out his ace, Nidoking, next, and Hemlock sent out Hatsune Miku. Nidoking barely scratched her with a shadow ball, and she was able to retaliate with a mighty brine; seeing this, Cain freaked out and swapped out to his Venomoth. Matsune Miku continued to shrug off a signal beam and a sludge bomb, and fired off an acid spray, but got slammed by a sleep powder and ended up fainting to a second signal beam. Luckily, Hemlock had a new team member: Good Charlotte, her own Venomoth! Good Charlotte tanked a signal beam and was able to retaliate with a mighty psybeam, ending the Venomoth! Cain's Nidoking came back out, and so Hemlock swapped out to Foo Fighters. Nidoking acted kind of stupid at first, using a thunderbolt instead of going for the kill with an earth power, which allowed Foo Fighters to injure it severely with an ice beam; however, Nidoking promptly took his smart pills and KO'd Foo Fighters with an earth power. Good Charlotte came back out, and she was able to tank a thunderbolt with 5 HP left and ended it with a mighty psybeam! All that remained on Cain's team was his Haunter, so Hemlock swapped out to Evanescence. Compared to the Not-Corey, the fight against Haunter was actually pretty easy, as all it did was fire off two sludge bombs before fainting to two night slashes! With Cain down, we get the key... or not, since he runs off after Heather, who showed up while we were battling. But hey, at least we don't have to break into an orphanage and eventually fight a spoopy ghost thing, right? ...Right?! The team so far:
  7. Hey, remember when I used to update this? Yeah, those were good times. Anyway, let's fix that. Update #18: Why You Gotta Be So Rude? Well, Fern wasn't too bad, but I did do some grinding to get all of my team up to speed before him, so that might have had something to do with it. Fern led with his Ludicolo, and Hemlock led with AC/DC. AC/DC managed to do massive damage with a bug bite on Ludicolo, but then Ludicolo set up a rain dance (making it faster than him) and burned him with a scald. AC/DC still put up a good fight, though, and managed to make Fern use up his first super potion and knock it back down to the red before succumbing to burn damage. Guns N' Roses came out next, and while Fern used a second super potion Guns N' Roses did some damage with a critical-hit razor leaf... only to get burned by a scald himself. (╯°□°)╯︵ ┻━┻ Um, anyway, he then took massive damage from an ice beam, but was still able to hold on long enough to KO Ludicolo with two more razor leaves! He then promptly fainted from burn damage, but hey, he did his best. Up next came Fern's Serperior, and Hemlock sent out a new member of our team: Queen Latifa the Nidoqueen! Serperior set up a coil and did insane damage with an aqua tail, but Queen Latifa was able to KO Serperior with two sheer force-boosted poison jabs! Fern sent out his ace, Roserade, next, and Hemlock swapped out to Foo Fighters. Foo Fighters did some damage with an ice beam, but took serious damage from an extrasensory, so I had him spent his last turn healing Queen Latifa with a berry ice cream... but to my surprise, Fern derped out and swapped his Roserade out for his Ferrothorn! In response, I had Hemlock swap Foo Fighters out to Evanescence (who had evolved!) and had her use flamethrower on Ferrothorn, which not only did serious damage but also burned it! This let Evanescence survive a gyro ball and KO it back with another flamethrower! Fern's Sceptile came out next, and Hemlock swapped out for Hatsune Miku. She tanked a leaf blade and negated the Sceptile's white herb with an acid spray, then miraculously dodged a leaf storm to damage it some more with a second acid spray. While Sceptile took her down the next turn with a leaf blade, Evanescence was able to come back out and KO it with a flamethrower after tanking a leaf blade! All that remained was Fern's weakened Roserade, and Hemlock sent out Queen Latifa. She tanked an extrasensory and left Roserade with just a sliver of health, then returned the favor to Foo Fighters by healing him with a berry ice cream before she fainted to a seocnd extrasensory. Fortunately, this let him come back in and end Roserade with a mighty ice beam, ending the fight! Time to get the key from Cain! The team so far:
  8. Hey, speaking of poison-types, meet... Mega Swalot Type: Poison Ability: Unaware HP: 100 Attack: 103 (+30) Defense: 113 (+30) Special Attack: 103 (+30) Special Defense 113 (+30) Speed: 35 (-20) It's blobby, it's bulky, and it's finally out of PU! With great 100/113/113 bulk, this guy can shrug off hits for days and retaliate with a move from its wide movepool! It can run specially-offensive sets, physically-offensive sets, bulky utility sets- heck, even a curse sweeper set! With Unaware as its ability, it can stop setup sweepers like Belly Drum Azumarill, Swords Dance Mega Scizor, and Calm Mind Clefable dead in their tracks, then threaten to poison them. Unfortunately, it suffers from a massive four-moveslot syndrome, as it can't do everything it wants and check every threat it has with one set; additionally, it suffers from the massive amount of psychic- and ground-types in OU, especially Landorus-T, to which it can only dent with an ice beam on the switch and run. Additionally, base 103 attacking stats are kinda low for a Mega, so it usually has to rely on super-effective coverage. Sample Sets: Gastric Distress (Specially-based Offensive Tank) All-You-Can-Eat (Physically-based Offensive Tank) Indigestion (Bulky Support) More Than You Can Chew (Curse Sweeper) But It's Only a Wafer-Thin Mint (Stockpile Staller/Literally Satan) As always, feedback is welcome!
  9. Update #9: What A Mechanightmare! Well, the Pokemon Mechanightmare was, to put it bluntly, a nightmare, but Grimm was able to get past it. On TEH URN, xe led with Pumpkin Eater, and the Mechanightmare attacked with a Klingklang. Pumpkin Eater tried to paralyze it with two licks, but it just set up an autotomize and took him down with two discharges. Fortunately, the MVP of one-man battles, Sleeping Beauty, was able to come in and set up a perish song, barely surviving a discharge to do so! Klingklang took her out with a mirror shot immediately afterwards, so Aladdin the Lopunny (one of our newer team members) came out next, and he tanked a charge beam and retaliated with a jump kick. He then pivoted out to Big Bad Wolf, who fainted to a discharge; fortunately, the Klingklang's perish count finally ran out, ending the fight! With the Klingklang defeated, it's time to say hello to our newest team member, Little Red Riding Hood (or LRRH) the Litleo! The team so far:
  10. Update #8: A Fate Worse Than Death Well, the fight against the PULSE Tangrowth was kind of anticlimactic thanks to perish song, but hey, it was either that or mind-numbingly hard due to the Tangrowth's great bulk. Anyway, on TEH URN, ZEL led with their Tangrowth, and Grimm led with Sleeping Beauty. She did what she does best and set up a perish song while the Tangrowth set up a growth, then swapped out to Ali Baba, who did some damage with a fake out while tanking an acid spray. He then did chip damage with a fury swipes before fainting to a mega drain, but his job was done: the Tangrowth's perish counter had been stalled out, and the Tangrowth fainted as a result! With the Tangrowth down and the Obisdia Wars saved, it's time to get some new team members! The team so far:
  11. Update #7: A Regular Disney Princess Well, Cain was tricky, but overall he could have been a lot worse. On TEH URN, Grimm led with Ali Baba, and Cain led with his Grimer. Grimer got flinched by a fake out, and took some damage from two fury swipes, but managed to do massive damage with two acid sprays; however, Ali Baba was able to hang on long enough to KO it with a third round of fury swipes! Up next came Cain's Nidorino, and for some reason I sent out Sleeping Beauty. As to be expected, she fainted instantly from a poison tail, and so Pumpkin Eater came out to avenge her. He managed to knock off the Nidorino's poison barb and do some damage with a stomp, but fainted to two rounds of double kicks. Ali Baba came back out, and made Cain use up his two potions with a fake out and a critical-hit bite. While he missed a fury swipes after Nidorino got healed for the second time, he was able to land a second round of fury swipes, ending Nidorino! Cain sent out his Dewott next, and Big Bad Wolf came out. Since she took massive damage from a razor shell, Grimm swapped her out for Jack, who was only able to land a headbutt before he fainted to two razor shells. Fortunately, Nightingale was able to KO it with an uproar! Cain's Venonat came out next, and even though Nightingale got confused by a confusion, he was still able to KO it with two uproars! So... yeah, not much to say here. Anyway, all that was left was Cain's Gastly. Ali Baba came back out, and even though he was confused by a confuse ray, he was able to land a bite and end it! With Cain defeated, it's time to save the Obsidia Ward! The team so far:
  12. Update #6: Hoodlum Havoc Well, the Scrafty gang was quite tricky, but Grimm was able to muscle past them. On TEH URN, Grimm led with Sleeping Beauty and Ali Baba, and the gang led with Stallord and Dragonborn. Sleeping Beauty tanked a feint attack from Dragonborn and did massive damage with a disarming voice (which, thanks to competitive, was at +2), seriously denting Stallord and KO'ing Dragonborn (Stallord didn't move that turn, as he had been hit by a fake out from Ali Baba)! Up next came Tyson the Scraggy, and to my horror, it actually managed to KO Sleeping Beauty with a thunder punch, getting an attack boost thanks to moxie. Grimm swapped Ali Baba out for Big Bad Wolf, and Stallord set up an amnesia. Nightingale came out to avenge Sleeping Beauty, and he set up a reflect while Tyson and Stallord KO'd Big Bad Wolf with a fire punch and a drain punch, respectively. Ali Baba came back out, and although he took some considerable damage from an ice punch, he was able to make Stallord flinch with a fake out, and then KO'd Stallord with a fury swipes while Nightingale targeted Tyson with uproar! Sadly, Ali Baba fainted to a thunder punch, but hey, at least he went down swinging. The leader of the Scraggy, Big Boss, came out next, just in time for Nightingale to KO Tyson with an uproar. Pumpkin Eater came out to replace Ali Baba, and he knocked off Big Boss' leftovers despite getting hit by a sand attack. Nightingale tanked a brick break and managed to land two uproars on Big Boss before fainting to a payback, leaving Big Boss with less than 50% of its health; Pumpkin Eater, meanwhile, missed a supersonic twice. Jack came out and managed to do some damage with a pin missile, and while Pumpkin Eater kept missing knock offs, he just barely tanked a payback and retaliated with two more pin missiles, ending the fight! With the Scraggy gang down, it's time to head to the Coral Ward! The team so far:
  13. Update #5: Street Brawl Well, Victoria was harder than I expected, but I guess that's what you get for using only normal-types on a fighting-type specialist. On TEH URN, Victoria led with Scraggy, and Grimm led with Sleeping Beauty. While Scraggy did some damage with a headbutt, Sleeping Beauty was able to OHKO it with a mighty disarming voice (which did insane damage, since Competitive activated when Sleeping Beauty was exposed to Scraggy's intimidate)! Up next came Victoria's most troublesome Pokemon: her Pignite. Nightingale came out, tanked a flame charge, and set up a reflect before fainting. Ali Baba came out afterwards, and after he flinched Pignite with a fake out, he did some more damage with a fury swipes while Pignite flubbed a sunny day thanks to the strong winds, followed by Ali Baba tanking an arm thrust and doing massive damage with a fury swipes. Victoria tried using a potion, but Ali Baba was able to land five hits in a row, ending the Pignite! Victoria sent out her Makuhita next, and I have to admit, I got cocky. I sent out Pumpkin Eater, only for him to do pathetic damage with a knock off and get KO'd by two force palms. Sleeping Beauty came back out, and after being healed by a berry ice cream, she was able to eat two force palms and unleash two disarming voices, although she fainted on the third force palm. Luckily, the Makuhita was so weak that Ali Baba was able to end it with a fake out! Victoria's Kirlia came out next, and Jack came out to attack it. He took massive damage from two confusions, but hung on with one HP and managed to KO it with three headbutts! All that remained was Victoria's Poliwag. Big Bad Wolf came out, and while it flubbed a rain dance, she did some damage with two echoed voices; unfortunately, she fainted to two bubble beams, resulting in Ali Baba coming out and finishing the job with a fake out! Onward to the Slums! The team so far:
  14. Update #4: Knock it Off With the Explosions Well, I think the hardest thing about Julia was her Magnemite; once Grimm got past it, xe actually had a fighting chance. On TEH URN, xe led with Pumpkin Eater, and Julia led with her Magnemite. Pumpkin Eater tanked a magnet bomb and a charge beam to do massive with two knock offs, and then both sides were healed by a super potion. Magnemite then managed to do massive damage with a charge beam, but it didn't get a special attack boost, so Pumpkin Eater was able to keep spamming knock off. Then, amazingly, Magnemite missed a charge beam, allowing Pumpkin Eater to do more damage with a knock off; rather than go for the KO with another charge beam, Julia decided to try a sonic boom, which Pumpkin Eater survived with 8 HP, allowing him to finally take it out with a knock off! Up next came Julia's deceptively powerful powerhouse, Emolga, and Grimm swapped out for Jack, who got off two baby doll eyes before fainting. Luckily, this weakened the Emolga enough for Ali Baba to tank two acrobatics with just one HP and end it with a fake out and two fury swipes! Julia's Voltorb came out next, and Grimm sent out Nightingale... who, predictably, fainted to a single charge beam. Ali Baba came out again and did some damage with a fake out, then healed Pumpkin Eater with a chocolate ice cream- and it was a good thing he did, because the Voltorb blew up, taking Ali Baba with it! Up next was Julia's Chinchou, which normally would have had great bulk thanks to eviolite; however, after getting paralyzed, Pumpkin Eater was able to knock it off, crippling it! He then got cured of his paralysis, causing Chincou to deal less damage with an electro ball; however, another electro ball did some noticeable damage, so Pumpkin Eater got healed with a chocolate ice cream, allowing him to tank a water gun. Julia used her second super potion the next turn, but Pumpkin Eater kept swinging with knock offs, and even though he got paralyzed, he was still able to KO it with three knock offs! Running out of options, Julia sent out her Heliolisk, and while it did significant damage with a parabolic charge and a hidden power, Pumpkin Eater hung in there and knocked off its damp rock. He then got healed by a chocolate ice cream, letting him tank a second round of a parabolic charge/hidden power combo. After landing a knock off, he got healed again, and Heliolisk injured him with a hidden power. Heliolisk then wasted two turns using eerie impulse on a physical attacker, but Pumpkin Eater was immobilized by paralysis those two turns, so Grimm wasn't able to capitalize on said turns. Luckily, after that the Heliolisk used rain dance, giving Pumpkin Eater a free turn to damage it with a knock off. It did more damage with two hidden powers, but Pumpkin Eater was able to KO it with two more knock offs! All that remained was Julia's ace, Electrode. Sleeping Beauty came out, and while Electrode used charge, she sang the song that ends the world (AKA perish song). While she missed a sweet kiss the next turn, she was able to survive a sonic boom, and then swapped out to Big Bad Wolf, who promptly fainted to a charge beam. Pumpkin Eater also fell to a charge beam, but by then the perish count for Electrode hit zero, ending the fight! With Julia down, it's time to save the Obsidia Ward! The team so far:
  15. Update #3: Wish Upon a Meteor Well, Aster and Eclipse weren't nearly as bad as Fern. On TEH URN, Grimm led with Nightingale, Fern led with Roselia, and Aster and Eclipse led with their Magmar and Electabuzz. Poor Nightingale fainted instantly to a swift and a feint attack, but Fern was able to paralyze the Magmar with a stun spore. Grimm sent out Jack, and he lived through an ember and dented Electabuzz with a headbutt while Roselia barely scratched the Magmar with a mega drain. Since Jack onlu had a sliver of health left, Grimm swapped out to Big Bad Wolf, who acted as a sacrificial lamb and fainted to a swift and an ember, while Roselia actually did minor damage to Electabuzz with a mega drain. I decided to stop messing around and sent out Sleeping Beauty, who tanked a swift (which KO'd Roselia) and sang a perish song. Fern's Lombre came out next, and while it tanked a fire punch, it launched a bubble; unfortunately, poor Sleeping Beauty fainted to an ember; luckily, Ali Baba was able to come out and make Electabuzz flinch with a fake out, although Lombre fainted to a feint attack. Fern's Servine came out, and while Ali Baba tanked a fire punch, Servine and Ali Baba ganged up on Electabuzz; ultimately, though, the perish count ran out for both Electabuzz and Magmar, leading to them fainting and the battle ending! With the Mosswater Factory in ruins, it's time to take on Julia! The team so far:
  16. Update #2: The Grass is Always Meaner Well, Fern was quitea hard, but Grimm got past him. Plus, xe had a full team this time, so xe had more options. On TEH URN, Grimm led with Nightingale the Hoothoot, and Fern led with his Lombre. Nightingale set up a hypnosis after tanking an absorb, and he then began spamming peck; unfortunately, the Lombre woke up pretty quickly, and Nightingale had to tank a bubble and a growl while spamming peck. Eventually, when Lombre got knocked down to the red, Fern healed it with a potion, but Nightingale just kept pecking away. Sshe got hit with another growl and Fern used a second potion, so I gave up and swapped out to Big Bad Wolf the Whismur, who did some serious damage with three echoed voices while tanking a bubble and two absorbs, ending the Lombre! Up next came Fern's Servine, and Big Bad Wolf stayed on the field- a big mistake, since Servine KO'd her with a vine whip. PumpkinEater came out next, and he tanked a vine whip and a wrap to confuse Servine with a supersonic, then began spamming lick. After three turns (during two of which the Servine injured itself), Servine snapped out of confusion, and since PumpkinEater hadn't secured a KO yet, he just got healed by a super potion and spammed knock off, leaving the Servine with a sliver of health before fainting. Jack the Zigzagoon came out next, and amazingly he managed to KO the Servine with a tackle! All that remained was Fern's ace, Roselia. Grimm swapped out to Ali Baba the Meowth, and he made it flinch with a fake out. Unfortunately, Roselia used growth, which massively buffed its stats due to the sunny weather, leading to it KOing Ali Baba the next turn with a mega drain and healing off the damage he did to it. Thus, I had Grimm sent out Sleeping Beauty the Jigglypuff, and she confused Roselia with a sweet kiss after tanking a poison sting. The Roselia injured itself in confusion, allowing Sleeping Beauty to set up a perish song. Grimm swapped out for Nightingale, and while he fainted to a mega drain, this stalled the Roselia long enough for Jack to come in and distract it, causing Roselia's perish counter to run out! With Fern down, it's time to make our way to the Mosswater Factory! The team so far:
  17. Update #1: Once Upon a Time Well, Cain and Victoria were harder than I expected, but that's probably because I was using a Pokemon that you're not supposed to get until the mid-game, and thus it was sorta underpowered. Anyway, for Cain, PumpkinEater the Lickitung did what he does best and licked Nidoran like a lollipop, getting the paralysis on the first turn and the KO on the sixth! Victoria was more of the same, except PumpkinEater took some pretty serious damage from Victoria's Tepig. Seriously, Grimm had to heal him with a potion in order to win the fight. PumpkinEater managed to confuse Tepig with a supersonic and paralyze it with a lick, but then Tepig snapped out, PumpkinEater got slammed by a tackle while missing a supersonic, and had to be healed by the aforementioned potion in order to keep him alive. Luckily, (or should I say Lickily), he managed to confuse Tepig again with another supersonic and it injured itself twice, allowing him to end it with two licks! With Victoria defeated, it's time for Grimm to actually make a team that can hit other Normal-types! The team so far:
  18. Well, fire up the ol' forums, people, it's time for me to do a monotype that I likely won't finish since I have the attention span of a goldfish with ADHD. This time, the unlucky type is the Normal type, and so since none of the starters so far are normal types, I decided to use THE POWER OF RPGMAKER to hack myself in this guy: Yep, a Lickitung! You do not want to know what I saw when I googled it I know people might be saying, "that seems a little overpowered", but hey, it only knows the really weak lick until Level 13, so it can't even touch normal-types until then, and every early-game trainer and his/her/xyr mom has a normal type. Goodie. Anyhoo, here's the Pokemon our hapless vessel, Grimm, has this time: Here's the Pokemon Grimm has in the PC: Here's the bosses we have to beat: And finally, this run's theme song! Wish me luck, and here's hoping I stay focused enough to beat this run this time.

      Shadow Roxas

      Fucking for real

  20. Wow, this thread got a lot of attention! I'm impressed. I guess you guys are right; it's not all that black and white. If we didn't stop the Meteor Grunts permanently, they would probably have killed others. However, I feel like the main problem here is with not the grunts, who are just punch-clock villains, but the Meteor bosses like Solaris, Sirius, and Lin, who are the ones giving the orders. As the Simon and Tara example proved, the grunts are mostly nice enough guys, they're just wrapped up in a great big lie. Kind of reminds me of World War II Germany in a way: they're working to get change, regardless of who gets stepped upon in the process. The Bosses, on the other hand, are the ones who Titania should be venting her anger on: sure, they have nice goals, but to quote Aster, "The world needs to change. Just not in the way Team Meteor's doing it." The ends don't really justify the means. As for the quote Commander gave, I feel that the fact we don't try to stop Titania is a bit of a flaw in the game's medium. As a silent protagonist, there's no way we, the player, can call her out for her actions. Taka, on the other hand, just watched his dad murder a woman out of spite, and the Garchomp he used to kill people with is still up and kicking; I don't think then would have been a good time to tell him that he was in the wrong. Who knows, maybe Taka will bring the ruthless Kiki murder up again to Solaris. I guess what I was trying to say in the original post came out wrong. I might have been trying to say that Titania is a bad character. From reading your comments, I can tell that Titania isn't a bad character; she's just a bad person. There's a big difference. Her Aegislash attacks just left a bad taste in my mouth, and I guess I thought that the game was supporting her actions, as she murdered countless guards who weren't even trying to hurt her and didn't suffer any drawbacks; she didn't even feel remorse. I get the feeling once Amaria finds out, she'll be horrified, and that'll probably be a drawback. For now, though, I guess she isn't supposed to be a likeable character. So, today I learned that Titania isn't a bad character. Also, if I ever make characters, I've learned that there has to be a line drawn between "no killing" and "killing every villain you face"; make sure the villain you're facing is the one who deserves killing.
  21. Hey. Before I start, I just want to say two things. One, this is just my opinion. It's okay if you disagree with it. Second, there are spoilers in here for Pokemon Reborn, up to Episode 15. So, uh, if you haven't beaten the game up to Episode 15 yet, don't read this. And with that over with, it's time for me to vent my spleen about my least favorite Reborn Character. ~~~~ So, Titania. A lot of people like her. Amethyst has admitted that Titania is her favorite character. On first glance, it's not too hard to see why. When you first read her diary in Onyx Trainer School, it actually calls you out for peeking into her personal life. I admit, I liked that. Later on, you find out she took in Amaria when Amaria was suicidally depressed, and even though she didn't love her she tried to stay in a relationship with her to keep her happy. She even jumped down a waterfall to make sure she was safe. At the end of Episode 14, I thought she was a nice enough person, albeit a little out-of-focus. Then Episode 15 happened. Now, I think I know what Amethyst was trying to get at with her character. She's supposed to be a subversion of fairy tale cliches, with the "Damsel in Distress" actually being able to hold her own and being fair more capable than her rescuer. I can kind of see this happening in game: when you meet up with her at the Water Treatment Plant, she's already killed a couple grunts, an impressive feat since she's only got one Pokemon on her. However, let's take a look back at that last statement. "She's already killed a couple grunts." "Killed." And that, my friends, is where my hatred of Titania stems from: her sociopathy. No, I'm not kidding. She checks out on quite a few of the bullet points on the Dr Hare psychopathic checklist. To Wit: Gib and Superficial Charm: She pretended to be lesbian for years to keep Amaria from killing herself. I think that counts. Grandoise self-worth: Need for stimulation and proneness to boredom: Pathological Lying: She's been feeding Team Meteror lies for months, as revealed in the climax of Episode 15. Conning and Manipulativeness: Again, wooing Amaria to keep her from committing suicide. Lack of Remorse or Guilt: Mows down pretty much the entirety of the staff of the Meteor-controlled Water Treatment Center without so much as blinking. Shallow Effect: Amaria's diary reveals that she doesn't feel anything. Callousness and Lack of Empathy: Absolutely refuses to see Taka's point of view, and tells him to turn his back on his father, who has been known to murder people in the blink of an eye. She also refuses to acknowledge that she seriously hurt Florina's feelings, calling it "overreacting". Parasitic Lifestyle: Instead of getting help for her friend, she lived with her, and presumably mooched off of her as well. Poor Behavioral Control: Murders Grunts because their team took Amaria, even if the grunts themselves did nothing, and it's implied she blew up on Florina once. Promiscuous Sexual Behavior: Not really shown, but she did pretend to be lesbian when it's implied she's straight of asexual, so... Early Behavioral Problems: Again, not really shown, but her blowing up on Florina presumably counts. Lack of Realistic, Long-Term Goals: Her only real goal is "Keep Amaria safe". Nothing else. Impulsivity: Again, she murdered people with no second thought, and jumped off a waterfall after Amaria. Irresponsibility: Failure to Accept Responsibility for Own Actions: Refuses to acknowledge her role in Florina detaching herself from her emotions, or her role in Amaria committing suicide. Many Short-Term Martial Relationships: Ditches her friends after leaving the OTS, and expresses frustration that Amaria became attached to her again at the end of Episode 15. Juvenile Delinquency: Revocation of Conditional Release: Criminal Versatility: Again, murder. That's 15 out of 20; seems like a pretty strong correlation to me. Now, if Amethyst did this intentionally, congrats; you've made a well-made sociopathic hero. Nice job. However, if she didn't, then I think we've got a major problem here, and that's the erroneous belief that to be "tough" or "badass", you need to be a killer. This is not true in the slightest. Her justifications that "Team Meteor stops at nothing to achieve their goals, so why should I" is flawed, based on the fact that Team Meteor stopping at nothing to achieve their goals is what makes them so evil in the first place! They're willing to ruin the standard of living of Reborn's citizens and kill pretty much the entire population of Reborn to achieve their goals, hence why they're a menace and need to be stopped! By lowering yourself to their levels, you're just as monstrous as they are! Ever hear the phrase "he who fights monsters should see to it that he himself does not become a monster"? It means that you should be careful not to let the actions you take to fight evil make you no different from the evil you're fighting. Titania is deep into monster-city by now. Now, I know some people are going to say "Oh, you just don't like seeing empowered females!". That is not true in the slightest. I don't care what gender the empowered character identifies as- male, female, non-binary, attack helicopter- if they're a mass-murdering sociopath, I will object. Let it be known that Titania is not a strong female character- in fact, one could argue that her bloodlust makes her less strong than people like Charlotte or Laura, who (despite the easiness of the violent option) are able to take the nonviolent option. However, I will admit, the game ain't over yet. Somebody could call her out on this, and she could change; that would redeem her in my eyes. But for now, based on what we know about Titania, I've come to the conclusion that she is a horrible, horrible human being.
