For the Fate hype, enjoy

Just rewatched "A Chinese Odyssey" part 1 and 2, such an amazing piece of work, so much laughter and so much painful tears...
-
Some how, the fate of this thread ended up being about Sheep's favorite anime/vn and it seem to stay that way as there appears to be virtually unlimited amount of fans coming out left and right, but alas, that's all I can say right now as my fingers hurts like hell since this morning from a puzzling incident involving my old school razor blade and preferably been my beard, albeit the real tragedy is with my dominant hand, even though it works, I still cannot comfortably use it on some...things....

TAKE THIS SAO! Oh man, it was great until the 1min mark, but then all that shit came out....damn.

What anime trend do you love and hate the most?
MotherGlitcher replied to MotherGlitcher's topic in General Discussion
The latter part of AOT has much more human part compare to titan part as of the manga now, so if you enjoy the human aspect of AOT than you will probably like latter seasons of AOT. SAO, what can I say, it has too much of what I dislike, and that includes first half of the season, the design, the atmosphere, the character... just doesn't have the kind of vibe I like, instead it's much closer to the standards of the already saturated market. When it first came out, I started watching it and after getting a decent premise of the plot, .Hack//Sign came to my mind and I was anticipating what an anime produce a dozen years later with a similar trap in a game with real death and all that would be like. But, damn, they are like the opposite thing, the atmosphere and all. Note, I do know they took a different approach and have different emphasis, perhaps it's just my bias showing up again... Naruto's manga has ended recently, here there's that for you. OP's manga is still pretty kick ass, albeit a rather long and slow current arc, the story telling is still strong, the anime on the other hand is still have its short episodes and sometimes doing scenes differently(and poorly) than the manga. Also SJ have nothing to do with the anime, they just publish the mangas created by someone else, or am I getting this all wrong? -
Just finished watching both seasons of Jormungang, has a GITS feel to it, different ambient and less artsy than GITS but still a real fun to watch.
-
The manga is better, and the ending sucks, so now I've to wait til the sequel gets good...
-
Good night gentle ones.
-
You should try FLCL just for the experience lol, it's short and to the point.... maybe not to the point, but definitely short.
-
Yeah, in the last chapter, chapter 57

At least now I have a reference lol, and

Then what are some journeys that you enjoyed the most? In another word, what are some mcs that you highly like since they are the raw/unpolished materials before the journey and are the final products after the known journey?
-
Ah, since it's better to compare mcs that are quite intellectually based than to just name mcs with no common ground and I though Lelouche and Light would do, since they have somewhat a common ground back with more character development or is it just facial expressions? On another note, what ARE mcs closest to your sense of perfection?
-
Damn, that mean you pretty much hate the mc from One Outs, but like the one from Death Note and Code Geass...
-
I've just finished watching The Irregular at the Magic High School, quite nice to have a calm and collected mc for a change, in fact, I don't remember a single time the mc scream at all lol. Now if there's only a filter to filter out animes with screaming boy and girl mcs....

What anime trend do you love and hate the most?

How disappointing for a fan base to exist for such a ludicrous and detrimental anime/manga(FT), more so since it's not a small fan base, and one with mostly sub par arguments if not merits for its existence, needless to say, the come back mostly seem to be subjective. Am I being to bias here? p.s. sucks that OP manga is on break this week, at least Naruto is almost over lol and Bleach is still just dishing out weird abilities one after another... -

Ok, I see now it is this certain balance of 'strong' and 'idiot' that you like as much as the amount of 'idiot' by itself that you judge Goku to be the better 'strong idiot'. In other words it's more subjective than objective. (I'm excluding FT from this since I do not see enough good in it to be judge at all, this is at least as objective as subjective on my part.) -

So if I understand you correctly, your take is that Goku is perhaps not so much a good 'strong idiot' but rather more valued in terms of being the earlier appearance of its kind. Thus placing historical influence and ingenuity above comparative qualities (i.e. not graphics if it's relatively old vs relatively new). That's one way of looking at it, but I enjoy looking at it in another way, which is Luffy is heavily leaning towards being an 'idiot' compared to Goku, while do to the layout of the story, power scaling is rather incomparable (OP is more over story typed while DBZ is more arc or episodic typed, thus appearance of powered characters are different in these two series), so I feel that Luffy is a better done 'idiot' than Goku while OP feels to have a more 'silly wacky' nature without loosing the seriousness of the story and characters than DBZ. That being said, I like DB more than DBZ for reasons that are irrelevant here and like a keep saying, I'm OP so some bias opinions could come out now and then but hopefully this is not one of those times. Your second point does not work so well for what you're trying to say, the only one really to work there is Roy (the only time is capabilities changed was when he got blind and in turn am able to work without the use of 'alchemy circles'), while kid Gohan and Vegeta did at least went through a period of growth, Zoro constantly gets stronger like Luffy and Sanji, Kakashi would of been fine until he went from struggling against now a day fodders to having a credible role in sealing the most op character in Naruto due to them eyes and supposedly having a not so high chakra reserve, Kenpachi is being more of his former self from not suppressing his own powers, and FT characters just need nakama power though they still do the same thing as the others. Usually, mostly intellectual based characters are better characters to prove your point, such as Toa Takuchi from Ones Outs, though he is the mc and many characters in FMA fits this as well. -

I didn't imply that you believe Luffy is op, just that your comment about an unstable and ill-balanced power scale and seemingly un-killable none critically essential characters are more relatable to animes such as FT and is a blatantly obvious aspect of Naruto. FT has an over abundance of nakama power situations and Naruto similarly has isolating power ups while I know characters in Naruto just won't die and stay dead and FT have enough nakama power to prevent such a thing. A lot of animes have this trait in varying scale including OP, but like I said earlier, I like OP so maybe I'm not as critical about it in the aspects pointed out above. Also, I'm somewhat unclear to how you define 'strong idiot', perhaps if you care to point out how it is with say, Luffy, Natsu, and Goku then I can better appreciate the point you are trying to make. -

I like OP(not so much the new animations that seems to hold to a lower standard to the manga) so maybe I'm somewhat bias, but Luffy from OP can't really be put in the same comparison as characters from Bleach or FT. Personally, Naruto is the one that comes into mind for what you have in mind, so well does Naruto fit your description that it's hard not to link them to one and another. On another note, I really miss the 'grit' in anime that I enjoy that most new animes just lack a great deal of the time. I do acknowledge it has a good deal to do with the graphics, though I'd be hard pressed to dismiss some other element that I just cannot name for the life of me, or perhaps one can dish the 'nostalgia' card on me for I don't understand myself as much as I like and maybe understood too much in areas I do not rather linger in. -
Daily dose of epicness

Really? Damn, see what I mean about being off handheld for a while?

All I know is that it is a hack of a ds system pokemon game, don't think there's one call Heart Gold/Soul Silver though.... then again, I haven't venture into handheld pokemon hacks for a good while, so who knows...

69 the only number worth counting to here, though 66 and 99 has their charm as well.
