thanks, it worked!! But, why do save files get corrupted??? Does it get infected by a virus program or so???

Nope. There's no reason why a virus would target a save file. Usually save corruptions happen when you exit the game in the middle of saving, ergo saving only part of the data(mons, switches/flags, variables, player position, and such) to be written down. Other times can be from bad sectors in your memory, but the vast majority of save corruptions happen because you turned the game off too early. In short, let the game save fully before you exit it.

Gen 7 is going to be in E17, so if you have a Gen 7 starter from this mod, the new abilities and moves will be in E17 and there shouldn't be any problems.

Depends on how the starters were coded as and how the Gen 7 moves were implemented. Naturally, I'd imagine that the mons will have both the same IDs in the PBS files as their Pokedex numbers, which will remain equal in both EP 17 and in this mod, so this shouldn't be much of a problem. The only issue here is that if any Gen 7 moves were added to this mod then odds are is that they'll have different IDs within the PBS files once EP 17 rolls out, so once the save data is transferred then the Gen 7 move will become a different one. If anyone's planning to start a game with this mod and then transfer over to EP 17, I'd suggest to only use Gen VI and prior moves in the mod and then use the move re-learner if you want your mons to learn a Gen 7 move. This shouldn't be a major bug, but when transferring Gen VII moves from a mod to Reborn proper you may end up finding some weirdness.s

  3. How exactly do you gain the boost from Unburden, and are you swapping your mons out? Unburden's coding requires you to lose an item, such as via Knock Off or eating a berry, and just not giving an item to Slurpuff won't work. Also Unburden is coded as a volatile status, which means that swapping mons will cause your Slurpuff to lose the speed boost. Plus, is this happening in any specific field effect or just in general? Slurpuff's base speed is 72 so even without Unburden's boost it should be outspeeding most lower-levels mons.

nope, leaders are free to switch anything they want (besides their ace ofc, but they can switch their ace's moveset, item, etc.)

Ice? Fairy? Ghost? idk tbh with gen 7 stuff + Megas

I doubt it's Ice, to be honest. Gen 7 has made Hail teams significantly stronger by buffing Beartic as 130 attack and Slush Rush makes him a pretty dangerous sweeper in hail, plus Aurora Veil has given the type a lot of bulk, which was one of Ice type's weaknesses. Also Haley did have a pretty high win-rate for a b1 leader, so I'd imagine that Ice will go up a few ranks this season.

well, the leaders are ranked by their capability and success rates, and electric/grass are considered some of the worse monotypes (especially w/o legendaries for electric, rip Tapu Koko and Zapdos)

and plus they were first and second last season too so ye

although i was hoping Olivia went up a bit since she has Megas (cough Venusaur) to abuse now but oh well

Pretty much. Electric-types often have very poor coverage in general so this means that basically any Ground-type surrounded by a good core can easily wreck an Electric-type team, meanwhile Grass-types have several weaknesses and aren't that strong offensively, creating a lot of opportunities for sweeping.

Wait. Now, I'm a little confused. If Tesla is one of the hidden Elite4 member, then why would she let it be known that she's an Elite Four? Wouldn't they not want people to know?

Being a forum noob, how to you activate the spoiler slides/tabs?

Jan probably meant the hidden members as E4 members that are within the league itself, not someone who has their own identity concealed. Also, us the eye icon on the bar at the top.

  7. Xain has a point. Ame was trying to Worf herself off in order to give Lin a sense that she's an extremely strong trainer. The issue here is that Ame hasn't really shown her power as a trainer other than simply stating that she's champion. If we'd seen Ame easily annihilating another strong trainer or so we could have a better idea of Lin's power, but since we don't we could possibly assume that Ame may not have been that strong a trainer in the first place.

Basically, it's a show vs. tell issue.

  8. That and if you're not confident in your skills you can focus on an area(spriting, music, mapping, tiling, or scripting) and join a team. It's far easier to develop a single skill instead of several, so it would be far better for someone not certain of their skills to do that.

I am making my own fangame alone, but I've had several years of experience as a both an artist and coder, so what you should be aiming for is getting the experience required right now rather than making a full-fledged game.

Yeah... no the Talonflame nerf is happening, unfortunately, and I do say unfortunately because Tesla has a Talonflame and arghh.

Easy solution here. Just make her field effect remove the conditional for Gale Wings to activate. An if x || y statement would fit well there. For extra lulz, also make her field effect have the additional bonus of also applying Gale Wings' bonus to Fire-type moves.

Oh man the Mimikyu baton bass could be deadly, in sun/moon I use Z-splash disguise mimikyu but swords dance/play rough could really help me with those pesky gym leaders of yours. Seriously though great job on setting up the gym battles, even if i have the type advantage it will take me at least 2-3 tries to beat the leader, my swampert did nothing to amber the fire type gym leader so it was really fun and challenging

Start out by sending a Politoed w/ Drizzle or Snover w/ Snow Warning. All of Fire's weaknesses(Water, Ground, and Rock) are covered by Solarbeam so you can't really send out your sweepers against her in the sun without them getting 1-shotted. Plus, no sun means that you're removing 33% of her Fire damage output. Afterwards you're pretty much set to sweep her by spamming Rock Slide or Surf/Bulldoze/Earthquake provided your other mon has immunity to Water or Ground. For maximum sweeping lulz, bring 2 Gastrodons with Storm Drain and spam Surf. Just watch out for Energy Balls if her team has 'em.

  10. So far we know that she has an Aegislash, a Skarmory, and an Excadrill. Scizor would also be a likely mon as that was her ace in the online league, and if the pattern holds then the ace of all leaders stays the same regardless if it's in-game or in the online league. I really doubt that a gym leader of her level will use something too limited like an Aggron, a Klinklang or a Steelix. Forretress and Durant are strong Steel-types, but the fact that they share a x4 weakness with Scizor makes me doubt Ame will give her either of them. Mawile's a good guess, but since Adrienn used a Mega Mawhile I really doubt that it'll repeat the mon, especially as Mawile is pretty mediocre without its mega stone. Togedemaru is out of the question as it's a pretty bad mon in general. Klefki got nerfed hard with the Prankster nerf and the AI doesn't use support mons that well. Bastiodon is somewhat outclassed as a physical wall because of its x4 Fighting and Ground weakness. Probopass is a good pivot and would be pretty out of the left field, but still has that x4 weakness to Ground and Fighting that makes Aggron and Bastiodon poor mons. Escavalier and Ferrothorn are also good mons, but Escavalier's speed makes him too easy of a picking and still with the x4 weakness to Fire and whatnot. I also wouldn't pick A-Sandslash as aside from the x4 weakness to Fire and Fighting, it would work far better on a icy field, not something Titania would fight on. So my final predictions for non-legendary fully evolved mons are:

    Near Certain:

    -Aegislash

    -Skarmory

    -Scizor

    -Excadrill

    Very Likely:

    -Empoleon

    -Lucario

    -Metagross

    Likely:

    -Ferrothorn

    -Dugtrio

    -Bisharp

    -Magnezone

    More or Less Likely:

    -Probopass

    -Steelix

    -Klefki

    -Mawile

    -Escavalier

    -Durant

    -Bronzong

    -Bastiodon

    Unlikely:

    -Aggron

    -Sandslash

    -Wormadam

    -Togedemaru

    -Klinklang

  11. Err... would it still be possible to switch a few things in the team builder or is it too late? If changes can still be made I'd like to swap Durant for a non-shiny Forretress with Gyro Ball, Volt Switch, Stealth Rock, and Rapid Spin. In short, Durant was a little too much offense for my team and I decided to swap out an offensive steel typing for a more physically defensive one.

  12. 12 minutes ago, Jan said:

I mostly meant like... it can take a free hit whenever. So it can set up a Swords Dance/Bulk up for free practically. Don't even want to think about baton passing to it.

Though I'm not the best at scripting so I might have to take you up on that offer sometime.

Balance-wise, it's probably somewhat close to Gyarados-level of game-breaking potential. It doesn't have DD, but it does learn Hone Claws at 41 and Shadow Sneak at 14. Naturally it can also learn Play Rough, Shadow Claw, and Wood Hammer for coverage. Defensive-wise it has three immunities and only two x2 weakness, one of which is Steel and isn't used offensively often and the other one is Ghost, which is basically a type that counters itself. Plus, for utility Mimikyu can also learn Destiny Bond for Dimensional Rifts via breeding along with Thunder Wave and Will-O-Wisp through TMs. In short, he'll probably have to be placed very late as while he is similar to Gyarados in some aspects, Disguise mixed with the lack of his crippling x4 weakness to Electric, a priority STAB move learned naturally, more utility, three immunities, and double resistance to Bug means that he'll have far more opportunities to set up. We may see him in the next episode being used by a trainer, but as an obtainable mon? Yeah, not likely at all.

  13. 15 minutes ago, Jan said:

Maybe it will have the fast forward button, but probably not the field notes or the Dimensional dex.

Dunno. Mimikyu can put in some serious work because of Disguise. We'll see.

If you need any help with Disguise, then Marcello or I can possibly help you with the scripting. It's a little more complicated than Schooling or Shields Down to implement, but we've kind of got it done already.

      Reveal hidden contents

    conceit.JPG

So yeah, originally that was the plan, but Ame/Zumi and a bunch of others came together to collaborate on adding gen 7 content to Reborn/Rejuv... and really any game that wanted it.

So uh.... SURPRISE!!! Gen 7 is going to be in v9. This means it'll take a bit longer, but I promise you that it'll be worth. That's what I tell myself anyway.

    -----------

Reasons it's going to delay V9:

Rebalancing: If I'm going to add in gen 7 Pokemon, then I'm going to have to rebalance a lot of fights, including Gym Leaders. I've already started compiling trainers in each area and have redone them accordingly.

So you'll be noticing a lot of battles are different. Some teams have been changed all together. So I really apologize if something is too tough/easy on release. I'm still working stuff out.

Reworking Wild Encounters: This one is self explanatory.

Gen 7 mechanics: Tbh, this one won't take long, but it'll hurt my soul because dealing with scripts hurts me sometimes. I think this one will hurt the most because I have to add gen 7 mechs to Fields and aufhdgdfjhgdfg. Oh well, gotta do it.

    -----------

On top of that I'm polishing a lot of various other things like battle sprites, VS sprites, Battle backgrounds, shinies, adding in quality of life features etc...

So uh... Yeah... Version 9 is going to be a mega update.

Wait... there's a Gen VII collab between several devs that's been going on? Errrm, I feel like a total idiot right now. I've spent like three whole days scripting the new moves/abilities all by myself for my own project. Also, do you plan on relocating a few mons with the balance changes? From Gen VI to Gen VII we got several mons significantly buffed such as Torkoal, a 140 Def weather setter obtainable even before getting the second badge, and Wingull that's pretty much a mon with Drizzle available right when you start the game at the Oceana Pier.

Irrevelant as the context of the story and the gym leader roundabout. We circle back to Reborn City from the circus side divergence, head into the desert then circle back to the circus to head into Agate city. (though I wonder if Meteor hadn't interfered, would we have fought Hardy?)

Actually that brings another point of order. Had Team Meteor not caused trouble, what is the official Gym Leader roundabout of the Reborn Region?

Hardy would probably still not be faced until later on. In the lore he's one of the highest ranking gym leader in the region, so even if the PC had access to Agate we wouldn't be strong enough to face him.

it might be a small  bug or a lag maybe?

It can't really be lag as RGSS doesn't require information to be sent nor received online, unless you mean it as a pipeline hazard. I'd imagine that this was probably caused by a rounding error from Wrap's continuous damage.

  17. I'll register. Even though it doesn't asks for it in the OP, I'll provide all of the info about my team. Also, none of them are shiny.
