  1. So Ame decided to remove the $R system from the site in the next update. A group of people decided to gift me enough points to get to 6000, and I promptly used said points to get an Ace Membership.

Yeah, things can get a little crazy sometimes.

My name is Kenny Holmes, and I'm a 17.5-year-old boy from Syracuse in Central New York.

Here on the forums, I really like hanging around the Arcade/Wasteland/whatever-it's-called, as well as the Roleplaying section.

My interest in Pokémon was sparked a few years ago by my cousins when they let me play a copy of Black/White 2. My first time in the Unova region was made unique upon being presented by the Starter choice, as once I saw Oshawott, I knew that it was going to be the one that accompanied me on my journey. Something about it just resonated with me on a subconscious level, and it instantly became my absolute favorite 'mon. There was also an encounter with a Riolu, and the little guy and his evolution instantly stuck fast in my heart, and the five that make up these three lines are steadfast favorites of mine, even to this day.

In the autumn of 2012, I first discovered both this Forum and this Fangame through a friend of mine at school. I was almost instantly hooked, and soon made my own account, which actually lay dormant for a while when I kinda lost a bit of interest due to being too busy with school-related stuff.

Fast-forward to when Generation 6 came out with X and Y. After getting both copies, and a 3DS, I delved into the world of Pokémon once more. Yet again, I had an easy time deciding on my starter, although this time it was Fennekin, and it didn't manage to usurp the title of absolute favorite Starter from my GenV choice. Along my journey through Kalos, I encountered an Eevee, which is how Sylveon ended up finding a place in my favorites list. Further reinforcement of my liking of Lucario came in the form of a Mega Evolution.

Then ORAS came out, and I actually had a difficult time deciding on my Starter for once, but I ended up going with Treecko. Call me crazy, but I find the vast majority of the Starters to be a bit lackluster in terms of design. They're not bad, it's just that I prefer the more modern Starters over the older ones, and I've played a game from every Region except Sinnoh and Alola. Sure, the Cyndaquil line is an exception, but there's usually at least one counterexample in most situations. Most of the time in the pre-genV games, it's a choice between which one is the one that I dislike the least.

A few months ago, Gamefreak started hyping up Generation 7, and I joined the group that called themselves "#TeamPopplio". I rather liked the design of the little guy, but my confidence was a little shaken upon seeing his evolution line. However, my initial choice was rewarded much later, when it was revealed that Primarina has the potential to be a competitively viable 'mon.

A few days ago, Sun and Moon were released in the majority of the world, and the games were just released in the EU yesterday. However, I'll be waiting until sometime in December to get the games.

In any case, when battling competitively, I tend to lean more towards using 'mons that can hit hard and quickly or ones that can tank a few hits and dish out even more in response.

When not in front of my computer screen, I'm usually either reading, eating, or sleeping. Every now and then, I'll head off to the Adirondacks with my dad on a camping trip, or go on a Morris Dancing excursion with him. The Binghamton Morris Men's trip to the Garlic festival in Saugerties, NY is something that I try my hardest to attend each year, and the only things that can really stop me from doing so are either being across an ocean, illness, or unfortunate unforseen circumstances.

My favorite author by far is Terry Pratchett, mainly due to his Discworld books. I've also read some of the Redwall series, all seven main books of the Harry Potter franchise, and Watership Down. Yes, I have an affinity for nature. So what?

In my plans for where I want to go in life is currently to get a masters degree in Videogame Design, and then see where my life goes from there. I generally go with the flow, leaving myself open for anything that might pop up.
