  1. Clint was still following behind Wellus closely, however he now knew where they were going .. back to the front gate. As Clint turned the corner he could see several of the other army men, including his fellow cadets ready to engage in battle against the monstrous ice bird. He heard Kenny yell out that Rock types would be effective, so he knew his plan and he could only hope she had rested up enough in her pokeball. Clint reached in to his pocket and tossed out two balls one labeled 'Onix' the other 'Tyrogue.'' The balls hit the ground, and white spheres emerged out and quickly revealed the shape of the massive rock snake and his tiny fighter. As Pimparella surfaced from the ball, she let out a huge roar, clearly like Clint she was now ready to face the cold. "Alright, Pimparella I know you don't like the cold, so just help out as long as you can. Keep smashing that ice monster with rock throws." The Onix roared, rearing back and shooting off a massive rock aimed at the monstrous bird. And you," Clint now turned his attention to the tiny fighter, who's eyes showed a thirst for battle, "Keep any attackers off Pimparella." The Tyrogue nodded as it prepared itself to fight off any leftover attackers.
  2. I'll only allow it to be a CYOA if you all can write better than the people who wrote the original CYOA's. Seriously you get to write like 5 stories in a book and you figure out a way to make NONE of them make sense?! (Though I totally loved some of them as a kid.)
  3. "Not a drop to be found. only the bare essentials were left in this old outpost..." Clint could barely let out a sigh before the whole base went in to high alert. Sirens sounded in the distance and people were pouring out of buildings. The guard turned to him and said something, but he could barely hear it. All he could do was witness as some strange creature froze over the very shack he was headed to moments ago. The scene was shocking to say the least. Clint had witnessed death before, but never at the hands of a force of nature itself. The snow had picked up and it felt as if the air itself had frozen over as the creature's wings extended and began taking the creature into the air. However it wasn't the cold that made him freeze it was the enormity of the beast. It just didn't seem natural something about it felt surreal, it was almost like witnessing the will of nature itself manifested into the form of a bird. He stood frozen, taking in the scene. "That bird ... it's so powerful..." he muttered to himself, but before he could finish the thought the guard barked an order loudly enough to overtake the wailing sirens. "MOVE IT CADET! UNLESS YOU WANNA DIE LIKE THAT GOOD MAN JUST DID!" Clint nodded to the guard and quickly began following. The air was still cold, almost too cold to move, but Clint's body began moving anyway. The adrenaline that now coursed through his blood was enough to make him feel warm, well warm enough to move that is. He didn't know where he was going, or what the guard had planned, but whatever happened he was ready for it. He didn't have a gun, Pimparella was out of commission, but damn it he had Rocky and he knew he'd be able to get his hands on a weapon if they were planning on fighting. His hand moved down to the sphere holding the Tyrogue, ready to throw him at a moments notice as Clint followed the guard.
  4. Not too far off, though certainly not within melee range. If Rose wants to throw some magic at them or Byron wants to shoot them up though they'd be perfectly within range. And I appreciate that Strat, I kind of want you guys to take on the position of your characters in Mr. Taylor's chances of survival. If your character would be willing to get themselves in to danger to save Mr. Taylor then by all means, but if your character wouldn't care enough to save him then I'd prefer he'd die (however Mr. Taylor has bonded with a good bit of the group and the people he hasn't really had a chance to talk to would have there own personal reasons to save him. So I figure someone would want to save him.) But, yeah I'm deciding to back away from character's fate here and leave it up to you guys for a little.
  5. I figured I would let it play out and see what happened. Though if I had to choose I'd rather him get saved, since he's already died.
  6. "I don't know what the hell you're doing out here near the outskirts, Cadet, but you'd better come with me back to the Guard house. Things look like they're picking up out here... though a few hours ago it was seventy degrees and humid... Must be an act of God causing this snow..." Clint nodded slightly at the guard. He usually would've made some kind of remark here, but he was just too damn cold. The guard was right, this was insane. Clint had spent many winters in New York, but he couldn't remember any time the weather had switched itself this rapidly. Clint quickly picked up his things and started following behind the guard. "Hey man, you got any hot cocoa at that guard house?" he asked through shivering breath, barely able to spit out the words.
  7. Mr. Taylor kept firing wildly at the bodies coming at him, but they were closing in faster than his weapon could fire. "Damn it..." he muttered to himself as he shot through a young, dark haired boy. He looked back as the rest of the group seemed to be faring far better than himself as they had made an effort to get in to the trees. Unfortunately for him, he had been separated enough that he hadn't been able to reach Annie just yet. He looked on as a few more started approaching from the direction the rest of the group was, he had been totally cut off at this point and he knew it wouldn't be worth calling out for help. So he aimed his pistol once more and fired. The first shot landed tearing right through the first bodies head. Then he took aim on the second one backing away slowly. However, before he could pull the trigger he felt something grabbing his legs. He whipped around quickly to notice that the creatures had gotten him from behind. He let out a scream in pain as the monster began to grab and shove him to the ground. He began firing his weapon wildly, but it was of no use. He was completely surrounded and pinned to the ground. However, he held his tongue, he knew he would die, but it wasn't worth getting the rest of the group killed trying to save him. He let his body go limp as the creatures closed in and made there move to start tearing him apart.
  8. Clint kept trudging towards the small outpost, which looked, from where he was, to be a small shack. As he kept moving he noticed a figure moving in the distance. Clint couldn't help but feel a bit of hope as he saw that the figure was approaching him, however he stayed on his guard, knowing full well some of the guards around here were the shoot first ask questions later type. "Hey man!" he called out to the figure approaching him, "Name's Private Clint Cannon, my ride broke down out here and I was wondering if there was some way I could hitch a ride back to the healing center."
  9. Well Jude just got recruited to Utopia, so I'd doubt he'd be the one sent to recruit her. So far all we know about Utopia is that they say they're interested in cleansing the world of non-awakened and Zweiss, an NPC with the ability to control gravity is in charge there. So it seems like Utopia is pretty much set to be the 'bad guys of the RP. The only reason I'm hoping that she gets brought on board is that so far Jude was the only one recruited to that group, though it seems that's the way Anver is going too. However, it also seems like he's going to be more of an unwilling participant to the group since his family is being held hostage, so it'd be nice to have a willing non NPC in the group other than Jude, though ultimately that decision will be up to you and Flux.
  10. Ooooh. I'm seriously hopeful that Cassidy ends up joining Jude in Utopia. She may finally be that friend he's always wanted!
  11. When the cadets first received there GAO's they were taken out to a field where they could train them. From that particular part it seemed as though that area was pretty large. That's where Clint was, still entirely on base (Clint didn't hop the wall or anything). Though I'm not really sure as to how large that field was and also as to how large the base itself is. I figured there could be stretches of open field for a few miles in an overly large base, but I can edit it if that isn't the case. Edit: I gave it a bit more thought and here's what I'm going with. Clint traveled to the edge of the base, right next to the forest to train. After the battle, he started to head back the way he came when Onix collapsed. So, he's now headed to the guard post he past on the way there. I changed his distance from three miles to just a few hundred yards. Hope that clears things up.
  12. Mr. Taylor quickly reached in to his bag as the lustful approached. He scrambled quickly trying to find the item he was looking for, but he found it hard to concentrate. This seemed straight like a porno out of hell and Mr. Taylor could hardly keep focus. Finally after rummaging through his bag he pulled out what he had been looking for. His old trusty pistol. "I don't suppose those things are human are they?" he asked no one in particular as he took aim at one of the approaching bodies. He noticed Rose backing away from the creatures, she was clearly scared, so Mr. Taylor intended to do something about that. A naked girl approached, she had the look of a very attractive girl, but it hardly mattered to Mr. Taylor, he was too old to care about such things. He quickly fired his pistol at the girl, aiming straight for it's head.
  13. Uhh, it's all fixed up now. And I'm sorry about that Rose, the site being down for the day has me all mixed up.
  14. Totally didn't see that there's a second page so that post I made is outdated, just ignore it for now, I'll edit it real soon to make it make sense.
  15. Mr. Taylor had come down as hard as the rest in the new circle of hell, yet despite not being too shaken up from the fall he had landed in an awkward position, right on his back ... and his cane had landed just out of reach. Mr. Taylor did his best to reach for his cane as a gun shot sounded in the distance and a new stranger apparently beat her to the ground, but it still lay out of reach. The rest of the group hadn't seemed to notice his positioning and he could hardly blame them. From what he could hear two new members came and Ethic, Kenny and Rose had been the welcoming party. Well, Kenny and Rose were the welcoming party as Ethic had decided to scoot off. Mr. Taylor thought about calling out to him, but decided against it, he didn't want to hold back the group. He was still a man damn it and he didn't need to get picked up like a child. He lunged forward with as much force as he could and finally he got his hands around the cane. He quickly used it to get himself up. He heard them continuing to discuss there own situations and he decided that he shouldn't waste any more time. "The name's Taylor, Michael Taylor. Though most of these lads and lasses have taken to calling me Mr. Taylor," he said approaching the new girl, Annie he thought her name was and the Lord Byron figure. "Though I can't say I blame them, I'm old enough to be a grandfather to most of them," he let out with a laugh. "Now, I thought I heard Minos say that in order to leave this wretched place, we'll need to reach the bottom," his look became less cheerful as a serious tone developed in his voice continuing his look at Byron and Annie, "Have either of you found any clues as to how we reach this next level?"
  16. Out in the open field the snow was beginning to build up, and the Onix was reacting harshly to the cold. With each passing moment the Onix was starting to move slower and slower until suddenly a massive roar came from the beast. "Oh come on Pimparella!" Clint cried out from on top of the great stone snake, "Don't give out on me now!" But despite his protests, the Onix couldn't keep going, the moisture from the snow had proven too much for it. The Onix let out a massive roar and collapsed in to the snow. Clint reacted quickly jumping off the behemoth and quickly recalling it in to it's container. "Well shit," Clint sighed looking down the field. They had traveled quite some way, through the snow the guard post was barely visible, but Clint figured it was at most a few hundred yards off. "Guess I'll head over there and see if they can't give me a lift back to base," Clint let out, clearly unhappy with the situation he was in.
  17. Strat it actually may be a good thing that you didn't even notice Ethic's wrathfulness. It shows that you can create depth that you can't even see. Think of all the symbolism that is posed on to authors all the time that even they don't know they did. Notus, the first chapter was a great warm up. The only improvement I can think of is to make it more hell-ish, but I think that's what's going to be happening anyway so I'm just looking forward to chapter two.
  18. Clint was now closing in on the disgruntled Onix and as he got closer he reached into his pocket. "Come on Pimparella, I was just kiddin'!" Clint let out with a huge grin on his face, the situation was quite humorous to him. "And besides," Clint began pulling out the hidden item in his pocket, "I'm sure you don't want to get sprayed." The Onix stopped, fear crossing it's face and turned to look at it's master. Clint now held a small spray bottle. "Now are you going to be a good girl Pimparella?" The Onix looked down, with a mix of humiliation and fear in it's face, then nodded. "That's a good girl!" Clint let out, as he tossed Rocky's ball next to the massive snake. In an instant the tiny Tyrogue appeared. "Now look you guys, you did good against Erick," Clint began eyeing up his monsters with a bit of passion. "But good isn't good enough. I expect the best out of you two." The Tyrogue looked at his master appreciatively it loved training and was excited. However, the massive Onix looked less interested it knew it would have to face the small fighter, which it could easily defeat. "Alright Pimparella, since Rocky here hasn't beaten you yet, let's give him the first hit." The Onix nodded then slithered in to a more upright position. "Rocky, give it your best Jump Kick." The Tyrogue smirked and started dashing forward jumping in to the air at the massive stone wall. And the hit landed, moving the gigantic beast backwards a few inches and causing it to writhe out in pain. "Nice one Rocky!" He exclaimed, that was easily the best hit he had landed on Pimparella thus far. "Now Pimparella retaliate with a rock throw." The Onix lazily reared back and tossed a stone at the tiny fighter. The rock flew through the air aimed directly at the Tyrogue. "Come on Rocky," Clint let out, hoping his tiny fighter would put up a better fight this time than it had before. However, instead of dodging Rocky lunged forward at the Rock and ... began spinning against it. However, this technique proved vastly ineffective as the fighter was flung backward and on to the ground. Clint smacked himself in the face, a bit of frustration building. "Rocky! Why do you always do that!" He yelled at the tiny fighter. It had seemed no matter how hard Clint tried to get the Tyrogue to focus on kicking or boxing it always felt the need to spin around like a damn idiot. "You're not gonna beat Ace like that!" "Uhh, come on back," Clint sighed while returning the tiny fighter to it's sphere, then he turned to the victor of the match. "You ready to head back and get healed up Pimparella?" he asked the massive snake. The snake again nodded, it's frustration with it's master seemingly gone. Then Clint remounted the snake and headed back towards base.
  19. "Halt and state your business here, Cadet!!" Clint looked over to the guard tower that the shout came from. "Just doing a little training with my GAO's sir!" he shouted back to the man who had asked the question. Clint had gotten used to military talk over the past few months, he didn't like addressing people as sir, but he'd gotten over it. However, he was still confused as to how the ranking system really worked, so in order to avoid trouble that he didn't need, he called everyone sir. "The field is the best place to train my GAO's since Pimparella here, tends to destroy everything in sight, so I prefer to keep her outside." Clint then let out a little smile. "You know cause she's a woman." With that the huge Onix through Clint off of her and angrily started to slither away. "Aww come on baby!" Clint called to the giant Onix as it stormed into the field past the guard tower. Clint quickly recovered himself and yelled back to the guard tower, "We shouldn't be here too long, maybe just an hour or so, I have target practice later," he called back to the guard tower as he chased after the massive snake.
  20. "Mr.Taylor!" he called out "That's the wrong way, here, follow me!" "That little bastard, I've been a navigator since before he was born,'' he thought to himself. But, he quickly relented that thought after remembering his current mental state. "Right..." he said with a bit more agitation than normal. He wasn't quite mad at Ethic, he was mad at his own memory. His navigation skills were something he had always prided himself in and being incapable of navigating due to his own memory was frustrated. Mr. Taylor let out a long drawn out sigh, "I must say Ethic, not being able to keep things straight is profoundly frustrating, especially in the situation we find ourselves in." With that he turned around and started following Ethic.
  21. A small smirk grew on Clint's face. Over the past few months free time was a rare thing to come by and his partners were still in pretty good shape after his battle with Erick. Clint reached in to his pocket pulling out both a pack of cigarettes and one of the GAO balls as he'd grown to call them. With a flick of his wrist the ball hit the ground releasing the mighty Pimparella. "See you clowns later, me and Pimparella are going for a ride," he called out playfully, to no one in particular. The huge snake strolled over to Clint and laid its massive head down. Clint mounted, while lighting the cigarette. "Hee-yah!" He screamed out and the snake began to take off in the direction of the open field where they had spent there first day.
  22. "Say, Mr.Taylor... is this short term memory loss... permanent? I mean... do you ever get the memories you lose back?" "Well, I'd only used it once ..." Mr. Taylor began, but cut himself short, he was a little confused about what was going on, but he knew Ethic from the group and he remembered running with him, he was a good lad and he decided to trust him. "I used it right before I died and when I came back, well my memories came back with me." Mr. Taylor stopped and sighed. "I really do hate being old," he let out with a chuckle. Mr. Taylor then stood up and picked up his cane, "Well then my dear boy, I suppose we should be getting back to the group." he then started moving off in the direction opposite the group. "Now then, I think it's this way!"
  23. Forcing ideals on to people, then forcing them to fight for those ideals?! Jude likes this idea.
  24. Mr. Taylor nodded as he took the cards in his hands. He began focusing on the cards as hard as he could, forcing himself to imagine them in there normal state. It took several minutes of Mr. Taylor staring intensely at the cards before anything began to happen. Then suddenly a bright green aura surrounded himself and the cards. Then suddenly the cards jumped into the air and began colliding into each other, reforming and remaking themselves. Then as quickly as the process began it was over. The cards jumped back into Mr. Taylor's hands all within there original state. Mr. Taylor looked down at the cards confused as to what had just happened. "My boy, why do I have these cards in my hands again?" The last thing he could remember was Ethic telling him to wait somewhere before he rushed over to help the rest of the group. Then a strong smell rushed into his nose, blood. Mr. Taylor looked over and noticed the large puddle of blood, "What ... Is that where I?" he began, staggering away from the puddle and looking over at Ethic. "Why am I here? What happened Ethic?"
