  1. I'll take a guess and say you mean Reborn with that "we". If so, you posted in the wrong section (this one is for all non-Reborn Pokemon media, youre looking for Reborn City).

If you didn't mean Reborn, this is the section for ALL pokemon content, please specify what you're talking about.

If you do mean Reborn, using the search feature or checking out announcements both could have shown you that gen 7 content IS already planned.

  2. Because that's how it goes, the egg will always be of the same species as the female you put in the daycare (unless you put in a male and a ditto). There's a pinned breeding guide in this section, it should answer most of your questions.

  3. As you'd expect of a mon with only one base stat above 81, Talonflame is bad in-game. It's main things in comp are being speedy and having priority so it doesn't have to worry about opposing priority and scarfers, which barely exist in Reborn (there's Charlotte's scarf darm, a few sucker punchers and the ice gym's ice shards, thats all i can think of rn). It usually packs SD/Bulk Up/Choice Band to boost its bad attack stat, but we don't have any of that either.

A lot of the placements do seem to be based on comp viability over in-game viability. Such as tentacruel. A mon only ever used for defence and hazard control. It's only a decent defensove mon without scald/toxic and hazards are...irrelevant in Reborn. Yet the only way to get it is from the mystery egg, the same thing that can get you a volcarona or bisharp instead.

  4. 11.Mareep

    179.png

Yeah, yeah, I know this is supposed to be a top 10, but the choice for my #10 was basically a tie, so I figured I'd include both. Mareep has been a mon I've loved ever since my first pokemon game, firered...first played only 4 years ago, so I don't have nearly as much nostalgia as others here do, but this is the first pokemon I really liked. It's also the first example I think of when people mention good mons with bad evos cause I hate Flaafy's and Ampharos' designs, which is why I don't use Mareep much, which is why its so low on my list.

    10.Grotle

    388.png

One of the main reasons 4th Gen is best Gen for me is that it has my 3 favorite starters in it. Which is why I hate starting Gen 4 games the most, it always takes me a while to pick my starter, but most of the time, it's gonna be Turtwig. I was gonna put Torterra here at first, but I prefer the way Grotle looks and of all starters, it's the only one whose second form I'm not indifferent to.

    9.Tangrowth
    465.png

This fine fella was part of the first team I ever used in competitive, so it's got more nostalgia than anything else on this list. Been a fan of the design since Ifirst saw it, but I just never paid much attention before I started using it.

It also gets big bonus points for being the evolution of Tangela, favorite mon of my favorite mons youtuber, (the retired) Crambo.

    8.Articuno

    144.png

And here's my actual favorite mon from FireRed (sorry Mareep). I somehow kept missing the bird trio whenever I played FireRed, until I learned about them online. I'd already gotten tired of FireRed by then, but just looking at Articuno, I knew I wanted to at least try it sometime...which I don't think has happened yet, so this one's on my list only for it's design.

    7.Zebstrika

    523.png

Actually the last Electric type on the list, which surprised me, I've adored this mon ever since Dark Rising, which was the first time I'd even heard about it. This is a mon I like more for it's usefulness than for it's design (which is still good imo), cause it did work in DR. It also got Me First in Gen 6 and is the only viable user of it, and I love me some gimmicks.

    6.Russia Corphish

    341.png

    Shoutouts to Dun Deal.

    5.Regice

    378.png

Yup. A big ol' slab of Ice with 7 dots, as mediocre in design as it is on the battlefield, but I can't help but love it for some reason. I really don't know.

    4.Leavanny

    542.png

What a surprise, 's a Leavanny, the thing I've had as an avatar here for a year. Whenever I play pokemon games these days, I tend to look up a location guide and sorta plan ahead, see what team I want to use cause I really can't be asked to do what many do and have more than 6 mons combat ready at a time. On run number who-the-hell-knows, I figured I'd give Leavanny a shot, got decent stats, 2 good STABs which is rare in Reborn, Sticky Web, so why not. And it worked. Somehow. Ever since, to me, this is the best Bug type ever to have bugged.

    3.Golurk

    623.png

I could just say "Iron Fist, Focus Punch" and be done with it, but this is the first and only cannon on my list, which surprised me, considering how much I love anythign that can punch (literally with this one) holes into the opposition. Bit of a glassy cannon, but it's got a unique typing, cool design, great movepool and it's been really fun to use in competitive. You go, flying ghost robot golem.

    2.Meloetta

    648.png

The RU tier has always been a weird tier for me. Full of many many mons I hate enough not to touch RU, full of many mons that make me really want to. I occasionally give in to that desire and get burned 5 minutes later, but that little time alone (+ some UU) made me like Meloetta even more than its design already did. Massive props to having a gimmick (Relic Song) that actually works most of the time it's used.

    1.Sigilyph

    561.png

This fine fella is easily my favorite mon of all time. The cool design that doesn't really fit the rest of the Pokemon world (imo) has been a big plus from the moment I first saw it and it's been fun to use in games as well, with its surprisingly good movepool and damage (free life orb helps).

But what catapulted it to my #1 spot has to be the fact that it's on my favorite OU team (shoutouts to skitty), putting in massive amounts of work, even against people that know what it does...which there isn't a lot of. I guess most OU people don't play RU? Not like I can blame them. Especially not when it's letting one of my favorites shine.

  5. Most comfy in OU, got a rather rusty but rather good amount of experience with UU and NU, minimal PU experience. Basically no experience in RU and LC and I have no interest in Ubers.

Oh, also got quite a bit of monotype experience and I'd like to say that I was good at it, it's just been quite a while, so there's some rust to shake off.

  6. Your Forum Name: Etesian

    Your Server Name: Etesian

The Year You Joined Reborn: 2014

Your Favorite Type (Yes you can have more than one): Electric, Dark

    Your Least Favorite Type: Ice

Did you participate in the first installment of PokeNations?: nope

General Availability: Timezone is GMT +2 (Serbia). Mostly 4-10 PM, shifty schedule.

  7. Yeeeeeah, NucleArbok looks freaking sweet.

If you wanna actually use it though, I'd recommend waiting till level 63 to get it Coil+Gunk Shot, and visit the Nature Changer on 7th street to give it a +def nature to ease set up (7th is later on, earliest you can get to it is when the plot wants you to). Cause right now, it's worse than the other Poison types you could have by this point.

  8. Never even heard if this, but the first comment on that topic says that this is well-known stuff, so whaddaya know. No clue if this is actually in reborn, but either way, in reborn, everything has a 1.07% chance to be shiny (triple that with the Shiny Charm) and unlike the main games, you can use cheat engine to hatch an egg in like 3 steps (check the Team Showcase section's pinned breeding guide to see how), so I think you're good to go regardless.

  9. Awesome thank you! I'm going to try to get that Murkrow as well as check out where the sash would be. Lookout you deviously beautiful burb I'm coming for you! >3

    EDIT

Caught Murkrow but he knows only Wing Attack, Night Shade, Assurance and Brave Bird.

Murkrow gets Perish Song by breeding with Altaria. If you don't wanna bother with that, go catch a Magnemite and train it up, Sturdy+Mirror Coat oughta kill the Arceus in one shot.

EDIT: Right, forgot Reborn event mons can randomly have egg moves. Yeah, I think you can just keep resetting for Perish Song, but if that doesn't work out, Magnemite exists.

  10. I am all about the ps1. Haha. Were these adaptations for psx or gbc Azure Dreams? It killed me pushing to the 30th floor to get cheap shot by a maxim and have to start the whole ordeal over without my plus 20 sword to boot. I did a run now where i had a noise that i boosted to hell and back and fused with a block cause I love noises. I also threw an egg fruit at a maxim and fused him for 2x hp so he is a beast. 3rd in lineup for h20 coverage is a spider that i tanked out by fusing with the griffon. A really fun run tbh. Considering what to play next. Probably revisit MR2.

Hit me up if you ever wanna nerd out about ps1 games lol. And Playstation version, never got my hands on the gbc one (from what I've seen, the ps1 version is better anyways, just that the gbc one has a few more monsters and got way more exposure...somehow). I wasn't too lucky with gear. I steered clear of rust traps cause I've been hyper paranoid of traps ever since I had a bomb trap destroy an egg right in front of me (you can imagine how pissed I was).

You just gotta know when to go home (and pray you find a wind crystal if you didn't bring one). Even if you don't achieve anything special, chances are you still let your familiar get some good XP. I'd usually beat the game with an elemental sword and steel/diamond shield at +7 each and a level 25-30 familiar. You just gotta conserve your familiar's MP (don't have them fight on the early floors, try to go on your own as long as you can. If you've killed most of everything and are just running around to explore, put the familiar back in the bag) so that you can use spells a lot. Mostly the sword spells (the ones that have a familiar add magic to your sword hits) as those are really good.

Props for using Noises, love those things. Me, I'm a huge fan of the level 7-9 monsters. U-Boats just look really cool and DeRock is a neat spell, evolved Nyuels are stupidly sustainable, Krakens damage-on-contact trait works really well with Block's double defense. But the clowns, man. Their trait that doubles spell levels is insane. Their innate spell, LoDown, is just a level-down, which is trash, but as mix magic, it's a really nice ranged electric attack that lets a level 28 Death (clown evolution) one-shot basically everything up to floor 30. And that's just it's own trait/spell, you can add whatever. Cyclone's MP-cost-halving trait is great if you wanna spam spells, but I prefer Arachne fusion. Clown's/Death's attack is really good with the doubled attack trait and Arachne's DeMirror when converted to Wind Genus has possibly the best mix magic, adds good wind magic damage to your attack and is guaranteed to paralyse on hit.

  11. Well-versed in PS1 games and a fan of Azure Dreams? Oh, I like you, fella. But yeah, I adore Azure Dreams. It's one of those games that doesn't explain some things about the breeding system too well or...at all (like the fact that leveling a spell ball to 10+ lets you feed it to a monster to teach it a new spell, which is the only way for a monster to have 3 spells at once) and basically everything to do with Selfi and Ghosh is a cringe-fest, but it's just such a fun game.

Though I didn't find it as difficult as you say, but then again, rogue-likes are my jam. No denying that the grind is freaking real if you're trying to find a specific monster egg though, especially for some late-game monsters.

  12. Based on just stats, they have the same speed, neither can take physical hits, Gallade can take some special hits though not too many cause it's HP is still trash, Medicham hits way harder. Though you're doing a Fighting mono, so I doubt you're lacking power, so I think you should go with Gallade, for the utility. Destiny Bond as last resort, Memento to help any set-up you may have from a Bulk Up Toxicroak or Nasty Plot Lucario or something, Trick Room which a Fighting mono could appreciate, Will-o-Wisp if you go back to E12 to breed (details in this section's pinned breeding guide). And Leaf Blade could come in handy once or twice a year, s-so that's...something.

Then again, Medicham's access to Ice/Thunder/Fire Punch could be really handy. You'd still need something else to take care of birds cause most of them are too fast for Medicham, but annoying bulky waters/grasses like Slowbro or Vileplume would be taken care of with that.

  13. Yeah, with stuff like this, Reborn tries to be as accurate to the main gamrs as possible, so no expansions. Also, Fly is used to go from known location A to known location B, it's definitely not something you need to have on your team at all times (especially cause, in the main games, fly puts you right in front of the chosen location's Pokecenter iirc, which lets you grab yout flier, fly, deposit it. Likely also gonna be the case in Reborn)

  14. Yeah, thanks for letting me know. Most of the guide was made before ORAS and I just haven't gotten around to checking everything again. Also I'm not too too sure about including Amaura/Tyrunt in any chains cause, from what I've seen, most people just don't bother getting those 2 (especially Amaura) because their quest is a freaking pain. Then again, is a thing you can do, so I guess I've got some editing to do.

  15. Worst:

-Had my insomnia's frequency cranked up by 11.

-New family issues (though only the topic is new).

-Had to do the majority of my first year of computer science with a busted laptop.

-Had to repeat my first year of computer science.

-Had an infection close to the kidney that made almost a month go to waste.

    Best:

-Am starting to actually be semi-frequent on the Reborn server. Still not there too too often, but that's still better than my old frequency of "never".

-Got to get somewhat closer to a good number of people here.

-After playing the game for god knows how long, found someone to play Risk of Rain multiplayer with (now just gotta get to it).

Yeap, only good things that happened happened in December. Here's to you, 2016! Don't worry too much about being a good year, your predecessor didn't set the bar too high. Still, please do try.
