  1. So there's this girl at the library who wants to know my name. So I gave her a paper that says アレクスス and told her to work from there

  2. Silent Requiem vs. Hellfire Knight "And for a knight you're honestly not very chivalrous." Adam said jokingly, "For the record, it's the song of death that's silent." A shot glanced off his armor, momentarily disrupting his course. The steam was dying off faster than it was being generated, and already HK was starting to get a sense for where he was. He had to act fast, but he couldn't get close with the curtain of fire HK had up. There was one possibility, but it was a stupid possibility. Still, he didn't see that he had much choice. "I'm sorry, little knight, but if I'm going to become a god, I'm going to have to go through you." Was his sincere apology. He didn't have issue beating her, not at all, but this was not going to be comfortable for either of them. He altered his course straight towards HK, spinning at full power. It would take her a moment to realize what he was doing but that wouldn't be enough; he had to rely on her being surprised at his assault to delay her inevitable retaliation long enough for his plan to succeed
  3. Silent Requiem vs. Hellfire Knight "See, here's the thing." Adam explained, "I kind of don't need to worry about visibility." Of course what he did need to worry about was getting close enough to land a hit. The bullet spread she was firing off now was more of a net than a proper attack, Hellfire Knight clearly couldn't get a bead on him. With the speed he was moving, there was very little chance of her actually dealing damage. But that simply put them at a standoff. If Adam couldn't find a way to gain the upper hand, the steam would eventually die down and Hellfire Knight would land a proper hit. "So then, are you and Lowlee a thing already? You seemed pretty defensive of her earlier." He inquired, "'Cause I mean, she seemed pretty open to hanging out with Swagbutt."

  5. Silent Requiem vs Hellfire Knight Hellfire Knight's beam slashed across the edge of Adam's mech, melting off a good bit of armor. But on the bright side, his repairs from that blast would finish much faster than the full-body strike from before. He noted that the beam moved slowly, meaning that it would take time for it to return back across his hull. He smashed into the wall, kicking up dust all around him and stopping his movement. He needed to get moving again as soon as possible, but he would risk erratic movements unless he could restore himself to a spherical form. The hull had smoothed out but it wasn't even. Adam winced slightly as he realized what he had to do, but if he was going to win this he would have to sacrifice. He jettisoned the outer edge of his hull into the rock, severely thinning his armor but restoring his shape. Then he set himself spinning at high speed and when he was going fast enough, he deployed a circle of angled blades, essentially turning his body into a giant propeller. He rocketed forward, aiming for a point where the steam would conceal him. "Gotta hand it to you, that's some nice shooting." He said, "Just curious though, can you see through all this steam you're kicking up?"
  6. Yes, six total, and Victoria takes up the first Tech slot to leave five. She's equivalent to being my character in the competition, but unlike Adam in TTG, she has some NPC privileges
  7. Anyone can join. Obviously it will be a bit easier to understand if you're already involved in TTG, but it's far from required
  8. It's 25 years before, your math is right, except the Diviner is 47 in TTG Short quote from my timeline: And yes, you are locked to the age of seven
  9. Silent Requiem vs. Hellfire Knight "Shit shit shit shit..." Adam couldn't manage much more than a stream of curses. A much more concentrated beam would be able to successfully deal solid damage, and he was quite in a position to dodge. But then an idea hit him, if his opponent was smart, they'd take his sinking into account. So he didn't have to dodge, her just had to stop. He only had a few moment before the beam would cut through the water enough to strike him, so he had to act quickly. He kicked into gear and deployed a few blades. He had just enough to use his body as a giant propeller and begin moving slightly upwards. It wouldn't do much for actual dodging, but it kept him just above HK's plasma beam. But unfortunately, his hull wasn't stable enough to continue the spin for long, and he was set off course, now hurling towards one of the pillars of dirt and rock. He'd tank it just fine, but it would fill the water with dust, obscuring his vision. It was already a pain to spot things through all the steam Hellfire Knight was stirring up. (OOC: for the record, I was gonna try the stopping thing whether or not Hiroki considered that he was sinking, just needed to know if it would work @Murdoc)

  11. You've likely heard this story before, two opposing groups--light and dark, tall and short, butter-side up and butter-side down, etc--have been at odds for centuries. And then along comes an outcast, one who decides they don't want to conform to either of these groups. They refuse either path and choose to eat their bread with no butter-side at all. But what happens when the middle ground grows into a faction of its own? Welcome to the Plane of Pride, inhabited primarily by the most powerful martial artists in all the lands. Users of fantastical manifestations of will known as "mechs," those who practice these arts at a high level train their bodies and minds to superhuman levels. But this is where the division comes: Whether it is better to train body or mind. For over 200 years the people of Pride have chosen at the age of seven to join with either those who train their minds or their bodies. But five years ago a new route was given, the choice to train neither the body nor mind and use a technological marvel known as the Divination System. In this new world both the mind and body being equaled or even trumped by technology, a new faction arose in the land of Pride. Many new children chose this new path, and a good number of adults from both sides defected to this new path. Though there had been a deviant here or there in the past, never had there been such a massive exodus. For 200 years there had always been two choices, but change had struck down tradition with violent force The TTG OOC thread, I recommend reading through the OP before continuing Now then, where do you fit into this? Well, in the five years since the Divination System was created, tensions between the three factions have escalated and even the children who choose are forced into this war. You are part of a group of six who are all making your choices this year. As it happens, each of the paths has two children going into it. You will be forced to declare your allegiance and then you will be put through a series of fights where you will face off against those who have chosen differently from you (Beware, the following is like completely copy/pasted) Mechs: Each character will posses a suit of battle armor, usually a humanoid not much larger than they are, unique to them (think like IS or Accel World) which is usually referred to simply as a mech. Mechs are generally created via meditation, but the new Divination System allows for them to created via artificial means Speed: Pretty easy to comprehend, gives an idea of how fast you can move. Keep in mind that this is about mobility, not reflexes every mech is more or less even when it comes to the speed of their joints Melee: A mech's affinity for close ranged fighting. Takes into account strength and weaponry combined, so keep in mind that a high melee mech may still be physically weak or that an unarmed mech may still be able to overpower you in melee combat. Also keep in mind that melee weapons basically just means "not guns." Weapons that are thrown or have a long reach such as knives or flails still qualify as melee Firepower: How much a mech can shoot. Lasers, projectile weapons, and explosives all go under this category Armor: How much of a beating a mech can take. Most mechs have all-purpose armor, but there are specialty armors which can be used to keep this rating deceptively low for certain opponents (EX: anti-projectile armor that is useless against anything else is a low rating, but a projectile only user will be in trouble) There are also forcefields for dealing with energy-based attacks such as lasers and explosives Special Ability: An ability more or less unique to each mech (there's multiple people who can fly and stuff like that, but generally Tempest's residents go for more unique abilities, especially in the Plane of Pride) This ability can be used to cancel a weakness, play to your strengths, etc. A mech comes built in with an ability when a person activates it that is meant to fit that person, but the ability isn't hard to change with enough Favor. Signature Attack: Much like the above, but specifically an attack. A lot of people use this as a large finishing ability, but it can more or less be anything. The only catch is that it must have specific conditions under which it can be activated, thus the common condition of, "I'm going in to finish them off." Faction Limitations: Each of the factions has different capabilities in their mech designs, so choose wisely (the bit in brackets is how many stat points you get) Mind[11]: Followers of the Mind gain the most control over their mech's design, allowing them to designate their points freely across all stats, but they are limited in their technology. They may use simple mechanical creations (such as primitive firearms), but cannot use computerized or energy based technology Tech[10]: Those who use Tech have free use of technology, but may put no more than five points into any one stat Body[8]: The followers of the body are limited to two points in Firepower, but are free with other stats. They must rely on very weak technology and may not use weapons or defenses beyond a medieval level. But giving them a signature attack costs no stat points so long as it requires physical contact to execute Rules: Keep calm. I know you don't want to lose, but you're going to lose. If all else fails I can flip a coin to decide a winner, or you could try to work things out calmly No metagaming. But do keep in mind that these kids have trained together since birth, it is not unreasonable for them to have plenty of knowledge involving each others' capabilities Try to keep Suism to a minimum. Instead of the default "no Sues" I'm going to keep in mind that Suism is a fluid concept and that there's no line where things go from "not-Sue" to "Sue." So instead, just try to keep yoursuelf in check. I'll certainly let you know if you go overboard No godmodding, powerplaying, and etc. The other generic RP taboos. Just because I'm not going out of my way to explain them doesn't mean you should do them MURDER I mean, um, have fun and stuff Character Sheet: Forum Name: [Yes, this is necessary] Character Name: [What is your quest?] Gender: [Gender, that thing where you generate derp] Path: [Which of the three factions you'll be joining: Tech, Mind, or Body. There is only one slot for Tech and two for each of the others] Appearance: [What your character looks like] Mech Appearance: [What they look like in their mech] Personality: [Doesn't need to be extensive, but do use complete sentences] Mechs Stats: [Check your faction limitations to see what you can do here, including how many points you get. Even as a child you'll have already had extensive training] Speed: [six point bonus: Teleport once per fight] Melee: [six point bonus: Instantly disengage from the enemy once per fight] Firepower: [six point bonus: Auto-land a hit once per fight, overrides character dodges but doesn't prevent blocking such as with Armor's six bonus] Armor: [six point bonus: Become completely invulnerable to any and all attacks once per fight] Signature Attack: [Note, costs two points and may not be removed once added, although it may be altered] Special Ability: [Your own ability, cannot be changed over the course of the RP] Character Specialization: [You're a kid, so you only get to be good at one of these] Observance: [Will let you figure out what the opponent's special ability does once it's used], Reflex: [Provides you a free dodge that lets you avoid attacks], Learning: [Gives you an extra stat point] Other: Anything else to share? And that should be everything, feel free to ask questions because I'm sure I forgot something
  12. Holy shit, TY Skeleton, you just gave me a great idea ^^

what are you gonna write a childrens book lol

  13. You know, it was a joke, but I kind of want to try writing a "nonbinary woman" now, that could prove enlightening

Yes Dobby, that is the point of the term. Which is why the concept seemed so stupid to me yesterday

But then I had an epiphany on how to make it work

Ironically enough, I'd probably end up being the opposite of PC

    3. Skeleton

      Skeleton

i wouldnt say being politically correct is your forte anyway

    4. Shamitako

      Shamitako

No, of course not, especially not in my writing. I don't think I've ever written a character who conformed to what's politically correct. In fact I have an entire roleplay entirely focused on the struggle of being oneself in a world where you must be like everyone else

  14. To explain my previous status: That was a jab at political correctness

Political correctness more often than not, is us getting offended on behalf of others, and taking it to mean they're offended.

    3. Neo

      Neo

The two terms have different contexts. A Black person is a person of color, but a Person of Color doesn't have to be black.

    4. Neo

      Neo

Y'all just seem to think that using terms that respect a person's existence is a bad thing. Whether they're offended or not is not the point

  15. *Clears throat* K, so, sorry IntSys, but I'm going to go ahead and call this one in favor of Mommo. There's literally no chance of you tanking a point blank auto-hit from her main cannon. Feel free to post more, because this fight is quite well written on both sides, I just saw Bfroger's post and wanted to make it clear that you were kind of screwed. Don't worry about it too much, Mommo is at a giant (get it, giant?) advantage on this field, there's a good few chances for you to pull out some wins yet Although, I'm going to go ahead and let everyone in on a little secret (that probably isn't so secret, thus why I'm sharing it): The results of the battles are an important factor in the story, but winning or losing is not the only result
  16. I do not waant to write a nonbinary woman of color, and you don't want me to write one

Yes. That's the entire point of this statement

  17. Holy shit where did you come from? Are you a ghost? Do you recognize me behind my Nep/Sylphyn mask?
  18. Honestly looks to me like the girl's mom was just trying to take a jab at the dad and could have cared less about the daughter My neighbor and her ex used to do stuff like that all the time with their son As for the girl, I'd hazard a guess she was less upset over the phone and more upset over her father's remarriage. While what she did is inexcusable, I more than understand struggling with parents and wanting to push back against their discipline. Not because their discipline itself is unreasonable, but because you feel they are being unreasonable. It's a painful situation that causes all kinds of illogical actions. And in some cases culminates in trying to remove a parent from your life entirely
  19. So, I can be dead weight now, or I can shoot my future in the foot

  20. TBH, it's mostly that my aunt and uncle don't know me as well There's my excessive PC usage (I literally spend all of my free time watching youtube, writing, playing games, socializing, or reading--and I do most of the latter two on my PC as well) My gender issues (I finally trusted my mother and she straight up stabbed me with words, also pretty sure she's in denial over the whole thing) My lack of reliability (I can maintain myself just fine, but I can't be relied on to do things for others. I.E. I don't keep up well with household chores) My mother's inability to ever be on time (it took me waking her at 10:00AM to get her out of the house before noon) The fact that I don't have a paid job (it mtook a lot of tooth pulling to convince my mom to let me volunteer at the library instead of working at Kroger) My lack of plan for the future (In their eyes, even though I've laid out the above plan for the both of them on many occasions) My lack of seeing my dad like ever (he wakes up when I go to sleep and I generally get home after he goes to bed) And my complete and total lack of respect for my mother (I lost what was left of it when she violated my trust)
  21. So, um, this one in particular. I had a Udyr that I ulted>Rocket jumped away from and he still ran me down even though I ran directly towards base Bear in mind this was me getting caught out, not a teamfight, but it still happened
  22. Can someone please explain to me how to defeat: Udyr, Tryndamere, Riven, Fizz, and Yi As Jhin, Ashe, Sivir, or Tristana (or recommend another ADC that can perform this task) Because all of them have proved impossible to burst or kite and no matter how well I do they always seem to just run me over on the way to my base I'm frustrated and tired of losing games where I had a lead to champs that I can't even fight from ahead EDIT: BTW, this is with me positioning very far back in teamfights. Like, to the point where I've been yelled at for not being part of fights at times. Yet somehow things still run through my frontline and murder me without a second thought
  23. Rushing, Zz'rot? Wat. Why not Abyssal? >_>
  24. When the invisible drow tries to intimidate a lever

    1. Shadow Tack
    2. GotWala

      GotWala

Story Time: In a very eventful D&D campaign, one of the party members turned invisible to scout out a way to defeat an enemy of insurmountable odds and ditched his team. Eventually finding the solution, it required a STR check, being his worst stat. Thus, he tried giving the lever the stink-eye, which was a fantastic role, but had forgotten he was invisible. Cant' be too scary when no one can see you, haha.

  25. You know, I really love characters like Rin and Mikorin. IDK what it is, they're just such cute little tryhards
