Not a manga expert here at all, but I've been told the manga for Umineko no Naku Koro Ni is pretty damn good. I watched the anime adaptation, and... here's the nicest way I can put it: the opening was better than the anime itself. It focuses around a mystery and never solves it, which makes the whole story pointless. The manga, however, is complete, and since I'm too lazy and have no time to read manga in general and umineko is not getting continued at this point, I decided to look up the mystery myself and find out about the things that remained unexplained in the anime and, my god... that was truly amazing. Not only that, but the way you find out about it, the whole journey of reading it makes it seem like it would've amused me a lot. Also, try out To Aru Majutsu no Index, if you're more into action or sci-fi. That's the only manga I've ever read (or tried to, at least) and from the little I read, it was great. It's huge (about 20 volumes iirc) and there are a lot of characters, but if you have the time, I'm sure you'll enjoy it a lot.

you know, when I first saw it I found it kind of ugly, but looking in more detail, it actually looks pretty cool (check pokemon-amie at the end of the vid)

Actually, they even tried to make her some sort of strong (who appears to be not-so-strong at some points) independent woman who hates all men surrounding her, due to a conflict she had in the past. I liked what they did with her in the anime (never finished the actual story, 'cause I don't read manga <<), but clips like that one were kind of unnecessary. The rape-attempt scenes, however, were absolutely needed, since they're used to prove a point afterwards or give her some character development.

and here I was hoping they had finally learned to find actors that actually resembled the characters nope, guess it'll always be the same with live-action movies based off of animes; only mikasa and hans were close to the actual ones ]: levi is pretty decent too, though I'm mainly interested in the actual acting, that's what usually makes me cringe the most when watching this kind of stuff... also, I know it's not related to this but help, it's barely been 2 days since it started

how is it slower even with the animations? are we talking about lag here or how the simulator actually works, because I see no difference in terms of how long a battle takes in each: - by skipping animations and that sort of stuff the battles take practically the same amount of time, bar how long an opponent takes to make a move - regarding how much time each player has to make a move, showdown has a time limit of 150 seconds, 300 if you challenged someone (which you can choose whether to have it turned on or off). po's time limit is 300 secs. if you were talking about lag, then that's completely different and it doesn't apply to everyone, y'know?

just because of the animation effects for certain moves? id say that even adds more hype to the battles

yea definitely; imo, showdown is a lot more reliable than po, as it doesn't have as much bugs (if not none at all lol). also, I like the theme better and I find showdown a much simpler site to join, since all I need to do is open a chrome tab whenever I feel like going on the server channels (aka rooms in showdown), same mods/etc, the tournament system. can't see anything id miss other than the unique leader sprites tbh, the only concern I have with showdown is that most usernames are already taken there ]: I find showdown much more practical, less glitchy and a more enjoyable site to be in, so I'd absolutely love if we finally got a server of our own there
