  1. Zoliver's mother and sisters kept about their previous activities as if the man had said nothing, hadn't even gotten up from the table. His mother was cutting the bread into slices, while his sisters giggled and gossiped as they waited. That's when he realized that the armor he had put on...wasn't even on him anymore. it was right back where he had kept it in his room. The next thing he knew, he was sitting right back in his chair. His mother glanced back at him as she opened the door of the wood oven, pulling out the loaf of bread baking there, her hands insulated by a fire resonance... again. "Have you given any thought to what metal you'll specialize in?" She asked... for the second time. it seemed as if his actions in getting up from the table had never occured...like time had been wound backwards to a few moments before. "Or do you intend to be like me and just work with them all?" thats when the Young man Realized... there was nothing he could do here. Things were going to play themselves out EXACTLY like they had that fatal night...
  2. "One, Two, Three, Four, Five, Six, Seven, Eight, Nine, Ten...." Aria trailed off, trying to count on her fingers. Though she stopped a few seconds later when she realized she didn't have enough. "Um..." "Twenty-one, Aria," Their mother interjected. "Tonight, Zoliver will be twenty-one years old... old enough to start his own forge." She pulled a few plates and bowls down from the single cupboard in the kitchen, along with a few steel utensils. She glanced over at Zoliver as she moved over to the wood oven, opening the door and pulling out the loaf of bread baking within, her hands insulated by a Fire Resonance. "Have you given any thought to what metal you'll specialize in? or do you intend to be like me and just work with them all?" Down at the Docks of the village of Koise... "Jacob..." Andrew said, looking to his co-worker. The docks were cold and the waters choppy that night. The snow still fell steadily. "Do you hear that? that... I guess I'd call it a scraping sound..." Jacob put down the crate he was lifting, looking around the area and straining his ears. "No," he said. "You're probably just tired... completely understandable, considering we have to work from dawn till after dusk every day..." as soon as he finished the sentence however, a loud series of scraping noises filled the air. He stood up straight, scanning the pier. All he saw was shapes moving around in the shadows. The lightning in their part of the docks was rather poor tonight. "Who's there?" The man Demanded, pulling a short barreled fusil out of the breast of his coat. He held his finger tips low on the wick, prepared to conjure a flame at a moments notice. "Answer me or I'll open fire!" "Both of us will!" Andrew added. he two had a fusil aimed into the darkness, albeit his had a longer barrel and required no wick. "Come out, Now!" There was silence for a moment. all movement sounds had ceased. then the creak of several boots stepping onto the wooden surface of the docks could be heard. Along with a man's gravely voice. "I'm afraid that neither or you leave here alive," John said. both men turned to find the salty buccaneer standing directly behind him. as to how he could've gotten there in the first place without their noticing, neither of them had any idea. His salt and pepper hair hung out loose under his captains hat, blowing in a slight gust. He easily towered over both the Dock Workers. He leaned down, looking both of them right in the eye. "Unless you two want to put down your guns and just leave?" "Fuck that!" Andrew roared. "I'll lose this damn job if you pilfer us on my watch! There's no way I'll simply stand by as you make off with everything!" He leveled his fusil at John, only to find a nice new battle axe protruding out of his bicep the next moment, quick as lightning. John dragged the weapon away from the other man's body, tearing the flesh on his arm in a savage scar. He finally freed the blade a moment later. Andrew dropped his gun, having lost all feeling from his shoulder to his finger tips. "I...you...how...." He stuttered, fear in his eyes. that stroke had come far quicker than he had expected from a man John's size. And he hadn't even noticed the axe anywhere in the Pirate's possession until it was tearing apart his own arm. It almost seemed as if he had pulled it out of thin air. "You...you..." His voice quivered. he took a few tentative steps back, falling over the lip of the peir and into the water. seemed he had forgotten to mind his step. "Andrew!!" Jacob shouted as he saw that his friend still hadn't come up. he turned on John, fire in his eyes. "You! I'll kill you!" he brought up his fusil, a small spark generating between his finger tips as his focus began to increase... which he promptly lost as John brought his axe around in a fearsome arc, cutting deep into the man's rib cage and dealing extensive damage to his vital organs. A slight gasp of air issued from his mouth as John braced his hand against the poor fool's chest, drawing his weapon back out of the flesh. The ruined body of Jacob feel to the wooden planks like a sack of potatoes. "Come on, folks!" he hollered at his crew, all of them hiding in the shadows still. "Take everything you find on these docks, minus the dead man at my feet of course, and bring em to the ship! get to it!" A series of 'Aye captains' sounded out as his men moved out of the cover of darkness and began to inspect the various peices cargo around the place, determining how best to lift it and whether or not it would fit in the row boats. but little did he know that some of his crew had... bigger plans... *** As Gideon watched Absalom preform the strange chant, the text in the ancient tomb began to change on the pages, merging and transforming, old words melding into each other an becoming new ones, pictures that were not there before appearing in blots of colored ink. a chorus of voices blasted forth from the book as it blazed with light. "It was...just as father predicted..." Absalom said, grinning weakly. "speaking the ancient words opened the way to knowledge long since past..." his legs collapsed under his own weight as soon as the words had exited his mouth. The tomb lay still open by his side, it's glow pulsating. It seemed that whatever the boy had just done, the feat had drained alot from him. The voices still sang from it's pages. "The elixir..." the boy laughed bitterly. "It's what Father and I had been after all this time, all these years... always searching for the next clue to aid our hunt. And now I've finally found where it might be hidden; I might have just completed part of the mission we shared... but..." He tried to stand, failing miserably. his vision was a little blurry after the attempt. "But... I never imagined this is how things would turn out... that instead of finding out it's location together...I'd be doing it alone...that I'd be doing it to carry on his legacy; instead of being by his side as we finally figured out this damn tomb..." The Boy's bitter grief filled laughter soon came to be mixed with some sobs that were equally, if not even more so, bitter and grief racked. He wiped his eyes with the back of his hand, trying to keep himself together and stem the flow of his tears. Crying wouldn't bring his father back now; Nothing would. He would have to be strong... he would have to keep pressing onward without him. but even knowing these simple truths, things were not any easier emotionally.
  3. Hey, chimchain, I'm just wondering... are any of the following mons obtainable? -Absol -Torchic -Maril -Turtwig and if so, where?
  4. I have the sneaking suspcion that Henry's going to try to start a battle with Mareek...
  5. Mareek said nothing as Phoebe made her little joke. He honestly didn't see anything funny about it. "Thank you," he muttered, not bothering to go to the trouble of adding the 'mam' part anymore. His eyes caught a glimpse of a bunch of activity elsewhere on Campus, seeing a large crowd beginning to form outside of a large Octagonal building. He presumed it to be the contest hall they were apparently supposed to be going to... and just like Phoebe said, there was a healing machine stationed out front, albeit with a small line forming...though it would doubtless grow larger if he waited too much longer. "Oh hey, you're the guy from before! Sorry to have bumped into you mate, I was really tired..." He turned to see the other boy from earlier speaking to him, the one who had somehow been clumsy enough to bump into a line of people. He directed his attention back to the Contest Building. "Yeah, fine, whatever," he said curtly. quite honestly, He didn't much wanna talk to this guy at the moment; he had bigger priorities set. not even a moment after those few words had come out of his mouth, his hands were stuffed in his Jacket pockets and he was walking off towards the Line forming by the healing machine.
  6. He should stop if he is. Because I'm about to go get a global mod to deal with this if he doesn't cease and desist
  7. You need to stop man. And you need to do it NOW. once is a mistake, but not twice, both me and the host, Notus, have told you already.
  8. As the Titan kicked the Beast's limp body to the side of the corridor, the thing's body began to gradually transmute into another form, becoming slimmer and smaller. By the time it hit and skided along the ground a second or two later, the Thing had transformed back into the Spear it had once been, a tip of silver and a shaft of bone white oak. Longicus felt his pet's sudden defeat rather than saw it as he tore open a door to the shining path and stepped through, reemerging seconds later... A few meters behind Kenny. no point in staying on the ceiling anymore, with the other overconfident fighter having disappeared without a trace. Monty was nowhere to be seen. But the Roman could still sense him and the other two in the area. they were choosing not to be visible at the moment... and they were moving all around the scene, spectating, looking for openings to step in if ordered. "To me," He called out simply, holding his hand stretched out towards his white spear. the thing clattered and bounced around a little on the floor for a few seconds, then came flying back into his palm. He stroked the fur of the black Sphinx, the beast transmuting and turning back into a Spear as well, just as it's sister had. Longicus sheathed both weapons again across his back, looking at Kenny with ominous calm. "This is Futile," he said. "Just stand down and walk away boy. You have no idea how merciful I'm being right now. But my patience is drawing to the end; this is your last chance. Refuse it, and neither me nor my hunting party will hold back any longer... you have been warned." *** "where the hell are we?" Ethic asked. all around him and Scott, thousands upon hundreds of thousands of Images flickered and zipped by them. The Blackness of Ethic's (Conquered) domain had faded to a bright white canvas of space, upon which these... well, Memories was the first word that came to his mind, had all started to circulate out from the orb Scott had given him. It was like watching a feature film as one browsed all the different tiny windows of color, all of them shot from the first person perspective, and all of them equip with full audio, if one simply wished to hear it. Scott again pulled out his I-phone, flicking his finger across it and scrolling through a few menus, of which Ethic had no idea what any of them were for. He did notice something he hadn't before though; the small, white apple on the white breast of Scott's shirt. "Wait..." he said. "You were an employee at an Apple Store?" "Right on the money," Scott said simply. he flicked through a few more options, and the landscape changed as one of the many memories was pulled from the chaos around them, floating down right in front of the two. "I was a lot of things back before I met that Lying bastard who goes by the name Maxwell..." "I see..." Ethic said, gazing around at the moving images all around them. "So... Are you going to explain what this place is?" "It's the inside of my Story Prism...or orb or whatever the hell you wanna call it; I'm dead, so I honestly don't much care about the name." "And these are your...?" "My memories," Scott sighed. he tucked the device back into his pocket after powering it off. "That's what a Story Sphere is, all the memories a Keeper has ever made in their span of existence. From birth, all the way throughout their natural lives, and then all the way through to their death and the beginning of their career as a Keeper. Literally everything you could ever want to know about the person is on here, and it all fits into a little orb just a bit bigger than a ping pong ball."
  9. .... .... .... 1. this post makes no sense what so ever given the context and situation My main character is currently in. 2. Traditionally, one does not use the first person or "*" in an RP. 3. Oh...there are sooooo many other things... Seeing as how Hukuna is currently out for a little while, I'll try to do the talking: Where should I start with the rest of the things wrong? just so...many...even for (what I presume to be) a first timer. guess I'll get started at the biggest one... Hello there, Doj, and welcome to the Reborn RP subforums. What we have here are Closed RPs, you see; as in, you must submit a sign up sheet and get approval from the host, that is, the person running the RP, in order to participate. as my fellow RPer Flux has aptly mentioned already, you, my friend, did not do this and have in a sense, Dive Bombed right into the plot line of our RolePlay. I will await your response to this before going any further with this discusion
  10. Hey, is Phoebe and Collin near the group by the fence? EDIT: Nevermind, I figured it out. Editing...
  11. Mareek only stood there as Devin went off to handle the situation. He was honestly a little torn as to what to do now; he could either disobey and go off looking himself, or just do as instructed and head to the Contest Hall for Orientation... Devin did say that the Forest was too dangerous for them to go into; in fact, the staff member was actually going to go in looking for Slade himself. He was far more qualified than Mareek or any of his fellow students at the task, the boy knew that without a doubt... but still, he didn't feel right just going off without even trying to look... But there was yet another factor in support of the obedience Argument, one which he had a sneaking suspicion of. "Erce," he said as he released the Mantis creature from her premier ball. She emerged in a flash of red, standing in front of Mareek... well, more of kneeling. He could tell right away that his hunch about this had been right; She was far too badly injured to possibly enter another fight if she had to. She was the only Partenr he had ever had so far; Seven years or so they'd known each other. He knew without a doubt that if left without an option, Erce would fight to death in order to defend him, no matter if the enemy was another Pokemon or a Person with murderous intent... If He chose to go out there, She'd have his back as best as she could in her current state, but she would most likely end up having to fight, and he knew full well that if she felt him to be in danger, she would disregard all his orders to retreat and keep fighting in order to ensure his safety... and that above all else would be the thing that would consequently lead to her succumbing to the injuries she had already accumulated. Yes, he wanted to go after Slade, but not if the potential cost was the life of his oldest and dearest friend... he didn't want to possibly put her life in that type of danger unless there was no other possible option. And right now, there was one; the hulking Dragon Master who had just torn down an entire section of the perimeter fence. "I'm sorry, Erce..." he said. "It's my fault you got hurt like this; I should've been paying attention to your situation instead of yelling at Slade." The Mantis looked at him with soft eyes. It was obvious she didn't blame him for this pain she was in, not even in the least bit. "Let's go get you some help..." He continued. The next moment Erce was back inside her Capsule and Mareek was running to catch up with Phoebe as he noticed her walking away from the group. "Excuse me, mam," he began. "But is there somewhere here that I could go to get my Scyther some medical assistance?"
  12. Speaking of which, where exactly would one go to heal up an injured pokemon? is there a center or something on campus?
  13. And the results are in... Contest hall. Sorry, but it seems that Reaso and logic will win out for him, Exlink... so uh, don't die out there...
  14. I'm a bit torn about Mareek now... he can easily comform to rules and authority when he sees doing so as being in his best interest... but the question presented by this is: "Which better serves me now; following directions, or going after him." and then we have the factors of Drake having warned them that it's too dangerous for them as they are now... and the fact that Erce is injured to an unknown degree and possibly fainted completely... going to the hall seems like the best idea... but can he just leave Slade out there without even trying to look? technically some of the responsibility is on his head for all this too... So i guess it honestly comes to down to choosing between what he believes to be right and plain Prudence... no wait... no it doesn't; it comes down to a coin toss now.
  15. Eagle, Where the heck did Edward just disappear to? and good that at least one of you is finally starting to see that brute force tactics with no real coordination can't do anything against Keepers. Yes, that's right, in order to kill them, you might actually have to be clever and think outside the box.
  16. ((Screw it, I guess we're not doing the whole 'Jake' psuedonym thing then... screw it, I'll just fix it in my other posts later)) "Yes, Sir," Mareek said, looking a Devin. He had the feeling that taking too long to answer would be a bad idea right now. 'His name was Slade, or at least that's the name he told me when I met him."
  17. "WTF" Mareek fought to himself as he watched his roommate throw what could only be equated to a temper tantrum and run out of the building. "For Arceus' sake, talk about a complete overreaction..." he sighed. "All I say is 'It's not the end of the world.' and he responds by getting all upset and running out..." he pushed himself up from leaning on the couch yet again, taking his hands out of his pockets. He glanced at Phoebe. "Sorry to run out while your questioning me, mam," he said. "But I guess someone should go follow him to make sure he doesn't do anything to hurt himself." with that, he was out of the door way and following the path that Slade had taken out of the Dorm building.
  18. The sphinx roared and again charged... until it stopped abruptly. Longicus held his hand up in a halting gesture. "This isn't Cheating, one," he said, holding his index finger. his middle finger joined it soon after. "Two, everything you just said is a complete lie, I could damn well outspeed and crush you if I so desired. you have no idea, boy." He walked up to his beast, scratching it under the chin like it liked. "And three," he continued. "We want Ethic gone for a reason, now why do you think that is, Fool? think hard about it; neither of you has been able to hurt us even in the least bit since we've started this little glorified spar. We just brush off everything you throw at us."
  19. Wait, you didn't finish off Eth- Oh...that's right... my fuck up earlier with the explosion... Eh... well I guess that depends, you interested in the old, Optimis Prime-level boy scout version of Ethic, or the current, "Cut you down on the spot if you fuck with him, ready to exchange blows" crazier version of Ethic? For the former... well, Marcus would feel the need to have some provocation before...going around slashing peeps throats and what not. the old Ethic didn't resort to violence for the most part unless he or someone he cared about was attacked or threatened first. Heheheheh... For the newer version though... just keep on what you doing now. though maybe get excited about the prospect of potentially fighting people.
  20. So... those words from Mareek were a complete waste of breath then. duely noted, he'll let you deal with your own emotional shit in the future EDIT: nevermind, they did have an effect... he's just completely overeating to them. "Hey man, you need some direction in your life... yeah, you fucked up a little, but it's not the end of the world. you just gotta learn from it." "I hate you!" *Runs off into the woods*
  21. why don't we just keep it like it is and pretend that's the reason you were doing it the whole time, K?
  22. A breif tearing sound echoed throughout the area just as the meteor hit impact... and then another one, coming from just behind Edward. "Your aim could use some work..." Longicus said. if Edward turned around, he'd find the roman and his black sphinx both sitting upside down on the ceiling nearby "But it's not totally your fault though... An impressive attack by the way, but you are still the fool; you can't win this... not fighting like you two seem to be fixed on." The Sphinx bounded forward toward Edward and unleashed another blast of hot, pitch black fire. Longicus simply stood and watched his pet prepare to destroy the young man, his face strangely calm. It was obvious the man wasn't even taking this seriously. He didn't think of either of these two numbskulls as actual threats... not like he would if it were Ethic he was fighting. but then again neither of them had drawn the blood of a Keeper, now had they? nor had they ever struck down one of his colleagues... struck down someone he had called 'friend'. so all in all, this mock apathy on his part was more than justified.
  23. The name that Mareek was given when Slade introduced himself was "Jake" of that i am 95% certain. I figured at the time you wanted to have slade use a psuedonym instead of his actual name, so I just went along with it. EDIT: Here is the post in question, you indeed used the name "Jake" to introduce Slade to Mareek
  24. "Look..." Mareek sighed, considering his next words carefully. hell, no use trying to keep it up, if Jake was really this dead set on taking the responsibility... he had to admit though, he could feel a bit of grudging respect for the guy."Don't get me wrong, I want nothing more than to shout a few choice obscenities at you right now for how careless you were... But look man; Everyone screws up, sometimes just a lot bigger than those around them. It's exactly because you failed to see the fire hazard in that room and ignited the blaze on accident that you need to be here. No offense, but I'm 95% certain that someone like you is a far bigger threat outside of this place than you can ever be inside. Imagine if that hadn't been Ariados we were fighting; what if they had been people? What if you had ordered Ember and started that same fire and ended up killing them all? You would've just committed five murders because you didn't take the time to think about the consequences of the order. In that case, there's no way you can ever make up for your mistake; those five people would always be dead no matter what else you do for the rest of your life. But you can make up for it here, if this place is what it's praised to be. It was only a bedroom that burned, not a person. It's not too late to try to learn." "Well... I'm done with my little rant now." he admitted. "I leave you with those words to think about."
  25. I'm under the impression that While he does absorb some of the personality, at the same time he absorbs some of their life force, enhancing his physical abilities... Though, It's murdoc's character, so I really can't give you an exact answer, only he can.
