  1. Kusuke held his head a bit, but apparently took the transition better than some.  "That feels weirdly familiar." He wasn't sure what had happened to their previous destination, but it probably wasn't good. Kusuke gestured vaguely in the direction Mirri went.  "I'm going to make sure, uh, everything goes smoothly over there."

A few moments later, a still-groggy looking Kusuke walked into the shop, hoping against hope that they stocked coffee.

  2. "Decapitate them or die trying." Tsubasa gave Travis the look of a person who wanted to ask why you had such a stupid question, but didn't want to be quite so rude. "If I was here to trick you into liking me, I wouldn't have threatened to kill you," She tilted her head back towards Cicivexa as she spoke, before turning to Cell and jumping slightly at his(?) appearance. She looked at the cherries dubiously for a moment, then shrugged and did as Halhi instructed, being slightly disappointed that apparently whatever she had been turned into didn't actually chew its food.

  3. "This place is smelly and weird," Lucine declared abruptly. She'd expected some mad science lab in a different universe to be more interesting, but instead it just looked like the rooms of the younger mages in the Yggdmillenia castle. "I don't even remember what we're doing around here." She wanders over to the workbench, messing with the magical tools around. She's magic too, after all. "I'm bored," she adds to her now-trio of announcements.

  4. Mitsurugi remained silent for several moments, processing what had just happened. Spicy HG seemed to be having issues with her other aspect, that much was clear, though she had never heard of being quite so adversarial. That was at the back of her mind, however; the goddess was still stricken with what she had been doing, the thunderous words that had echoed through her mind. "It is not safe here," she murmured, half towards Tanabe and half towards, seemingly, the air. She shook her head. What was she to do? She could not abandon her purpose - that would be suicide for a being like herself. Yet, the path forward seemed to lead to something even worse. Not wanting to admit her own uncertainty, she stayed quiet, glancing back at Lexiel, who she felt was sure to step forward.

  5. "Whether any of you were demons." Tsubasa said, as if it were obvious. She picked up a stick nearby and idly prodded at the fire. "Where I'm from, only demons can use magic." This place made it hard to puzzle out. Everything was unfamiliar, including the people; would she know a demon if she saw it?

  6. "The Demon Slayer Corps." She glanced up at Travis as he approached. "Getting those things to show was just a bonus. I found out what I needed to know." She stood for a moment, casually stretching her limbs before returning to a spot slightly closer to the fire. "Do you have any food?"

  7. "He jumped at me, I reacted." Tsubasa shrugged. "I don't think he expected me to be able to hurt him. And no, I didn't cut a deal with him. All I did was mention the uniform of the Corps." Tsubasa experimentally moved her fingers around, ensuring that Edmond hadn't cross-wired anything else, before continuing. "I'm not going to waste time wondering what he wanted or feeling bad for defending myself."

  8. "A-Are we winning? What's it doing now?" Heidrun continued to skirt the edges of the area, trying to stay somewhere the unnatural creature wouldn't see her. She could feel the wounds that Venus took, and despite her fear stopped to hold out one hand. A misty green ball formed in it before launching itself into the floor, where it exploded into streams of more faint energy that infused her allies.

Skraedna centered on Venus, healing all allies within 5 init (i.e. everyone) for 1d4+9!  She pays 15 Energy to do this in lieu of the health cost.

  9. Rory feels a bit nauseated at the rapid changes, and is fairly certain there was at least one stop on a state that was not strictly male or female, but the feeling subsides as the coin bounces away. Apparently, it had to be flipped with at least some intention.

"You may call me Yakumo Yukari." She shifted her attention away, back to the curious mage. "You really would like to know, wouldn't you?" She smiled coyly for a moment. "Some. . . acquaintances from another world left them. Thank you for cleaning them up; I might have broken a nail dealing with them myself." Yuyuko looked entirely too amused by Yukari's answer, though there was an undercurrent of something else that was hard to identify.

At this moment, Youmu appeared from the kitchen, balancing a sizable tray containing a teapot and already-full teacups. The load didn't seem to bother the small swordswoman as she passed them out to the group expertly. Sampling it would reveal it was of a quite high quality in traditional Japanese style. It was difficult to compare across varieties, but it was almost as good as Sakuya's. "The food should be ready soon. And, um, thanks again for helping us out."

"Thank you, Youmu. You've done such a great job, you know?" Youmu looked  embarrassed to receive the praise, mumbling what was probably a thank you before retreating back to the kitchen.

Getting some tea in her system seemed to have restored a small bit of Reimu's mood. "So who are all of you, anyway? I don't recognize any of you, and I try to keep track of everyone around here.  And what's a Trespasser? Clearly, you mean something or someone specific."

  10. "Oh, that won't be necessary, Lotus." The source of the voice was coming from about ten feet up, where a familiar blonde was hanging lazily out of a rent in space itself. "Those four pieces are all there was. Thank you all for being so kind as to handle those for me. I might have broken a nail otherwise." Yuyuko rolled her eyes even as the faintest hint of a smile crossed her face, while Reimu shifted her expression from "exhausted" to "exhausted and exasperated." "Ran would like you home, by the way." She gestured lazily at Chen, who offered what she probably thought was a salute before sinking into the ground dramatically; the gap that had appeared beneath her closed up as if it was zipped up.

"I was wondering when you'd show up. This seems to be exactly your kind of thing, Yukari." Yuyuko gestured towards the manor, floating off the ground slightly. "Care to join us in a moment?" Yukari pursed her lips for a moment, considering the offer. Reimu, meanwhile, began to walk away, before she suddenly found herself walking towards the group once again. She simply gave a long-suffering sigh and proceeded into the manor, grumbling about the whole situation.

"Well, it's sure to be entertaining, and I don't have anything else to do. Which reminds me of something. . ." She smiled at Yuyuko conspiratorially, though the ghostly princess did an admirable job of not grinning back. Yukari raised a hand and flipped a coin into the air, which split into a number of them which all managed to cleanly land in the hands of the party members that were formerly - and, apparently, once again, as they would discover on looking down - male. (LOTUS instead noticed a new application loaded into his memory simply labeled "coin.exe.") "I've had my fun, but. . . well, I won't judge you regardless of what you do with those."

Youmu reappeared from around the corner at this point, which led to them being escorted further into Yuyuko's manor. The place was, or at least appeared to be, positively ancient, but nothing actually seemed to have suffered for it. They were placed around a traditional, if quite long, Japanese dining table complete with seats that felt like they were made of clouds. Youmu said something to the effect of tea being ready in ten minutes, with food coming in thirty. Yuyuko looked pleased to have guests, while Reimu continued to look quite out of sorts; Yukari almost seemed to be stealing the occasional concerned look when she thought nobody was looking.

  11. "I don't think my arm is supposed to feel like that." It was an indescribable and not particularly pleasant sensation, what Edmond did just then, but it's not like Tsubasa was possessed of anything approaching supernatural resilience; she offered no further complaint about his attentions. "But no, he didn't just do that." Tsubasa scratched her head. "In hindsight, I don't think it was an attack. He did a lot of monologuing, then went off about my uniform, then put this mask on me." She gestured vaguely in the direction of her own face. "Something about thanking people that help him."

  12. Tsubasa made a face, insofar as she could do so, at the reminder of her current form. It was disturbingly close to a demonic transformation in her book, even if it seemed relatively benign. The swordswoman nodded at Edmond's question, though, welcoming the distraction. "He said something about being recruited to defend the multiverse, then jumped at me, so I cut his hand off."

  13. This was getting increasingly problematic. Her squadmates didn't seem to be handling the incoming attacks at all. She would just have to work harder to eliminate the threat.

Flickshot the Plague Marine for 4d10+DEX (7) damage.

    Name: Thunderlord
    Age: ?
    Gender: F
    Sex: N/A
Race: Some midpoint of Exo and T-doll
Appearance: A mottled, tattered cloak in blues and grays conceals most of Thunderlord's appearance at a glance, though a black box of some variety lies haphazardly across the left side of the back and shoulder - it might be some kind of radio. The blue, gray, and black color scheme continues across her clothing, which is simple, practical, and suitable for long journeys. It emphasizes ease of movement over protecting the wearer, though it still does the latter. Her eyes are an electrical blue, and while she is quite short at only 4'7", she has a presence that gives one the impression of much greater height. She is never seen without her namesake weapon.

Personality: Quiet and quite grounded, if occasionally too occupied with thinking about the future to deal with the present. Enjoys exploration of both places and ideas. Liable to act without actually telling anyone what she's doing.

    HP: 13
    Current Merit: 0
    Total Merit: 0

    • Constitution: 1
    • Dexterity: 7
    • Intelligence: 3
    • Resistance: 1
    • Strength: 1
    • Synergy: 2

    Perks:
They Rest Quiet on Fields Afar. . .: Grants the soulbound item "Thunderlord."
. . .For This Is No Ending. . .: Thunderlord has HP and all HP-boosting effects reduced by 40%, but will resurrect a full turn after taking lethal damage, once per encounter.
. . .But The Eye: Whenever Thunderlord is resurrected, she regains the usage of all actions that are usable more often than once per encounter, and all ramping actions are set to their maximum.

Flaw: No Firewall: Thunderlord's various firmwares are designed to fend off completely alien networks and interface with virtually any human network. As a result, she is vulnerable to cyberattacks, and enemies lacking any explicit ones but having the capability can use an action to roll an opposed INT check to stun her for a round.

    Actions:

    -Actives
Flickshot: Thunderlord rakes her fire across the enemy's weak point, dealing increased damage. Doubles critical chance on wielded weapons, and deals an extra die of damage should the weapon not have a critical chance.  2 turn cooldown.

Akimbo: Snaps off a shot with a one-handed weapon as a free action. 3 turn cooldown.

Agility: Thunderlord dodges and mitigates incoming attacks, granting a pool of temporary HP equal to her DEX. This temporary HP does not stack or decay.

    -Passives
One with the Gun: Adds half of Thunderlord's INT to crafting attempts involving firearms. Double this bonus if it is a light machine gun or similarly-sized weapon.

    -Trumps

    Equipment:
Thunderlord: A powerful machine gun, and the chassis around which this particular T-doll was designed. It has a devastating combination of damage and rate of fire, each shot increasing the speed with which the next arrives. Deals (1+n)d8+DEX damage, where n is the number of times the weapon has been attacked with previously, up to a maximum of 2+the number of worlds that Thunderlord has cleared. Damage resets if the user does not fire it at least once in a round. (Worlds Cleared: 0)
    -Soulbound
-Merit Level: Increases die to 1d10. This is the maximum die size for this weapon.

Incredibly Old Cloak: Has a lot of. . . character. Increases wearer's DEX by 1 for the purpose of saves and other evasive purposes, and 2 for the purposes of stealth.

Throwing Knife: An old, but well-cared for knife balanced for throwing. Deals 1d4+DEX damage. 25% crit chance if used at range.

  14. Tsubasa waved at Edmond, trying to get his attention. "Hey, you. You're a doctor, right?" She gestured at the variety of minor wounds she'd wound up with during the battle, mostly punctures courtesy of the Nui-Rama. "I'm not a fan of infections." She continued to idly scan the rest of the group. Can't tell anything about these people. I don't know how weird metal people work. Do they even have food?

  15. "Hakurei Reimu. I remember some of what happened." She sighed and shook her head. "I wouldn't say any of that normally, but. . . Nevermind. I need to get back to the shrine."

"Are you sure you can't stay for even a moment, Reimu? Youmu was just about to cook, and given everything. . ." Yuyuko looked a bit concerned at Reimu's haggard (more than usual) expression.

"It's fine." Masako would note that, while there was a faint irritable note in her voice, it was less present than what she would expect, or perhaps overcome by something else.

Yuyuko looked at the party pleadingly.

  16. "Someone left it in the donation box." Reimu sat up slowly, looking thoroughly miserable. "Figures that this week really was going too well." The shrine maiden shook her head slightly before continuing. "After that, I wasn't really in control. It's all pretty hazy from then until now." She stood up off the ground with obvious effort, making a cursory effort at dusting herself off. "And, as usual, now everything is messed up, and it's my problem." She stuck an arm out at IP expectantly, without looking at the android.

  17. "Good to know." Regardless of what she was, this girl was a strange sort. Perhaps she was just overconfident? Could be some kind of ploy, too. . . Tsubasa mentally shrugged. She'd worry about it when it became a problem.

"Marechi is a type of blood. My blood. What was it the old man said? Eating me would be like eating fifty normal humans for a demon. It tends to lure out things interested in that sort of thing."

  19. "Well, back where I'm from, that means you're a demon." She patted herself down for a moment, seemingly looking for something, before a brief flash of disappointment flickered across her expression. "I'm still not convinced you aren't one, but you also didn't immediately try to eat me when you smelled the marechi, so I'm putting off decapitating you." Tsubasa shrugged, seemingly content to leave her statement at that. In reality, of course, she was actually wondering if this world had onigiri and whether she could get some if it did, but her face remained impassive.

  20. Reimu didn't do much more than groan, initially. The blast had dislodged the artifact enough that its strange influence had ended. "Oww. . ." She rolled over onto her back, halfheartedly batting away IP's hands as the robot attempted to pilfer what little she had left.

"I don't think rifling through her pockets is really necessary. . ." Youmu's tone was cautiously disapproving, though Yuyuko's nod and subsequent glare at IP seemed to add a bit of force to her posture after she said it. She didn't stick around long, though; instead, the gardener immediately set to work cutting down the saplings and pulling up their roots before going to check the rest of the property for more of the things. The ghost herself seemed to be casually ignoring the accusation Masako had just leveled at her as if the tengu had not spoken at all.

"Great. This is exactly how I wanted this week to go." Reimu's tone wasn't even that upset; the miko just sounded tired, resigned, and still rather out of breath. She slowly began to gather herself up and rise to her feet, visibly wincing as she went.

  21.

    Isobel readjusts her loadout.

Reimu's spell circle continues to grow worryingly in size and intricacy.

Empi lets Isobel relax a bit by giving her and LOTUS back the ability to speak.

Reimu's magical circle nears completion, as danmaku begins to drift around the sigils.

Rory shanks the hell out of a tree, dealing [12] damage. The continued withering caused by Isobel combined with this causes the thing to shudder, and the party can feel the tree's influence wane.

Masako waits and watches. She learns that the saplings don't really do anything. They are trees, after all.

UB-65 returns to her new home amongst Youmu's prized roses.

Hikari casts a curative on Masako that does nothing in particular.

The magic circle flashes, and a dizzying spread of forceful danmaku flies in from the edges, striking everyone in the party except Isobel and IP! The rest are barraged with cursed bullets and seals that leave them unable to do much more than futiley try to dodge the incoming attacks. Instead of panic and fear, though, all they feel is a curious peace. . . They take [15] damage, are silenced, and afflicted with Serene Repose!

The curse issued by the Hakurei miko causes the elaborate weave of her danmaku to shatter, then dissolve into motes and float away on the wind like so much dust. Reimu herself reappears where the top of the cage once formed, well out of reach of the yari swinging through empty air. "I'm through with the mind games. You aren't nearly as clever as you seem to think you are."

Walmond, with the help of Empi's magic, manages to shine a ray of light through the abrupt wave of darkness with yet another Healing Wave, allowing her allies to recover [19] HP. Lambda, meanwhile, puts up her defenses to weather the next assault, shaky as she is.

"You know it's not like that, Reimu! This is for your own good!" Youmu becomes a green-and-white streak through the air, the piercing sound of her blade cutting through the air itself resounding through the garden as she lands a strike on Reimu for 80 damage!

IP takes the chance to rake gunfire across Reimu for [51] damage!
