So I was reading the Feminism Discussion, and I have to stop reading it because I'm getting too emotional. I don't think people understand that some people in financially stable, and opportune appearing situations don't have the privilege we are fabled to have. I'm supposed to have that "White Male in a group of his peers" priviledge, but while reading a section of privileges posted from a man with the same skin tone as me, I hardly have any of them...

It has nothing to do with personal experiences because everybody's differs, it's a blanket that skews experience for all those under it. Nobody crosses the street, averts eye contact, or clutches their purse when they see you. I'm cherokee/italian/german, but that's irrelevant because at the end of the day I'm white and I'm assumed to be a nonthreatening, tame individual with probably a comfortable financial background. I made a post in the feminism thread about it

So, as you're saying, the things that negatively apply to me aren't supposed to matter because I'm one anomaly in an otherwise distinct realm? I'm sorry, but if I said that one black person didn't matter over whatever because he was one anomaly, I'd have everything exploded out of proportion. The point is, I'm not trying to defeat anything, I'm saying that these negativities are relatable for me and you're trying to invalidate it by acting like you know how...
