Bug: Before activating V10 content (old save played up to the end of V9) I took the truck from Sheridan to Gearen City, got told I wasn't positioned correctly and automatically walked upwards about 10 tiles through a building, got a message about delivering a letter to Cameron, then my game completely locked up (no input did anything, rain still moved)

Actually it seems to happen whenever I enter east gearen. I walked in from central, and had the same thing

Separate Bug: the 'caught' icon for wild pokemon when it's one you already have seems to not be working

I can confirm this, literally just had it happen to me; you cannot make any inputs and are forced to close the game. Every single time it happens, cannot even save the game for a proper log of it. Here's a screen shot of where the PC winds up:

Try downloading the newest version. Is that still "Pokemon Reborn Junk"?

I do have plans to balance several weaker mons. I probably won't get around to it yet.

When you do have the time to get around to it, I would suggest looking at some of Drayano; the creator of the Volt White/Sacred Gold hacks' changes, he does a pretty good job with stat distribution. There are a few under/redundant buffs, though, but that's definitely a place to look if you get the opportunity and want to save a little time.

  3. So, given it isn't something I see in a lot of fan games; are you keeping everything vanilla, or are there potential plans for balancing of weaker Pokémon to make them more viable? Like, if anything, just stat buffs to bring them up to par. I've seen it done pretty much only in fan hacks, never anything made with RPG Maker.

Because it sucks when your favourite burd is Noctowl who can't be brought late game in the majority of fan games.

    Hey...

    @Bearadactyl @Sceptilespy

Sorry for tagging/pinning you guys if it disturbed you...

I'm kind of new to the game and all... But I wanted to know if I could still beta test the new version of the game. Would an application suffice? Or is it too late?

What would my job be as a beta tester, and if I do test the beta, would it completely spoil the new update for me?

    Thanks :)

Not a beta tester for Rejuvenation, myself; I'm just backing up the testers and Jan as someone who's been here and done that, you'll have to submit an application on the front page for that kinda thing. As for what the job entails here, not sure entirely what you'd need to do specifically with the new episode; though I'd imagine the rule of the thumb is attempt to progress normally, and report anything weird. Or, you could try and break the episode and report those results.

You'd need a current save for new content, otherwise you'll be starting from scratch; which might not be a bad thing as some changes can have weird effects elsewhere that may not even be related to the new content or unintended side effects. Any other questions, I imagine would have to be answered by Rejuv staff and devs. Maybe ask Jan or Zumi.

You might also find some info here.

Well, I mean, It took one week to get to 55%.

But I have never Beta Tested a game in my life, so I'm not the authority on this subject.

From someone who has beta tested, there's no way to accurately predict a time frame for when beta or bug testing will end; some small things could snowball in to huge things, some changes could have many unanticipated effects elsewhere; or in short, it'll be over when it's over. You never know what set backs or issues will pop up.

  6. I have a few candidates, but ultimately, I have to give it to Atlas, Rise! by: Metallica.

It's one of few songs that have come out this year that I listen to repeatedly, and it's Metallica's best song in over a decade.

Only problem is this is BEFORE its public release, not after. Uranium everyone could just share the game, Prism they'd need to purposely leak it to a select few, which idk if they really wanna.

They would still need proof to bust them, speculation won't hold in a court room. In the end, it's up to the dev now, and a "leak" wouldn't be something impossible.

It's what I would do in a similar situation, without a second though. I wouldn't let nearly a decade of work go unreleased because of a company worried about a multi-million dollar brand. Far as I'm concerned, fan projects should be supported; not squashed.

  8. I'm a fan of Totodile/Feraligatr, mostly because Sheer Force coupled with its move pool makes it hit like a truck. You won't be super reliant on TMs to make it effective. You'll struggle a small bit early on, but it definitely becomes well worth it later. It's coverage isn't too terrible, either. You get access to solid coverage to compliment it fairly early on as well, provided you're lucky with your weather.

  9. The music is my only major gripe about E16, it sounds choppier and you really notice the degrade in overall quality. Though, that's honestly resolved by maintaining the old music files like I have and just swapping them out if you're as picky as myself with sound quality.

The money is actually pretty worrisome, I'm not as late game as some folks, but I feel like the money nerf adds unnecessary difficulty to an already difficult setting. I feel like having to constantly rebattle trainers only adds an unnecessary extra grind to an already pretty grindy Pokémon game. There are a few, not too many, but a few stretches where having field items to heal on the go is completely necessary; and having less money directly impacts it.

As for the music, I feel like a good way to mitigate it due to the simple file structure of the game, is to just upload higher quality versions of the music elsewhere for picky users to download if they prefer.

  10. After looking around the forum for a while, I surprisingly haven't found any sort of post detailing how to use a Gamepad with Reborn [Given the In-Game Option Doesn't Seem To Work]. Though, I have seen the subject show up more than on a seldom occasion. So, I decided to make one.

If you're like me, you're not much on playing Pokémon Games with a keyboard. To me, it's never really felt... Right. But, as you all know, there are obvious limitations; which could be linked to Pokémon Essentials and/or various other issues. I personally don't know, because I've never really messed around with it. What I do know, is the Menu for Gamepad Input more often than not allows for mapping but still does not work in RPGMaker games in many cases.

Most people are probably aware of the program XPadder [it's actually what I personally use given I paid for it ages ago], which allows you to map keyboard and mouse controls to a Gamepad with a simple button prompt. Problem, is for something so seemingly simple there's a surprisingly steep paywall [$10 usd]. Either that, or they're aware of Joy2Key which has a UI that feels like a complete mess; at least in my opinion. Not to mention given it's shareware, you'll be prompted continually to buy a license. Something, that really peeves me.

Well, I've found an Open Source application that functions essentially the same way as XPadder called
AntiMicro. The link should take you directly to the download/release page on Github.

AntiMicro is a really simple application with a very straight forward UI, and it seems to work with most brands of Gamepad [something I've had issues with while trying Joy2Key in the past]. I've tested it with my Wired Xbox 360 Controller, iBuffalo Classic Snes Gamepad, OLD/Clunky Logitech Controller, and for giggles tried an old joystick with like... Two buttons. I was able to map with zero issue for every gamepad. The application is good enough, that I wanted to share it with anyone interested.

Simply choose your preferred method of installation, I just used the .msi version; though mind you Windows might not like you using it and could potentially stop you from installing it; in most cases you'll just be prompted with a warning. After that, just start the application with your Gamepad of choice plugged in and you should be able to start immediately.

Now, this of course, due to the nature of the application; will work with any other game. From other RPG Maker games like Rejuvenation, Desolation, and Uranium to AAA releases.

Here's a short video demoing the Program for those who want an idea of how it works before downloading it, I am using my iBuffalo Classic SNES Controller for this particular one so the video is aimed at Gamepads of similar design. Though, all in all, you'll have a similar experience with any controller. I'll probably do an Xbox Controller video relatively soon as well, given I imagine many people here probably use one on their PC.

Do note, the SNES Gamepad Display is not part of the program. I just added an overlay of XPadder's display to show my controller inputs.

I actually like the application a great deal, and if not for me feeling obligated to use XPadder after having paid for it; it's what I would be using right now.
