  1. My only real complaint about each new Pokémon Generation, is save for Gen II; the difficulty has steadily scaled downward. From Gym Leader nerfs to even nerfing the Elite Four. Your character apparently can't take on two trainers at once anymore, either.

Idk, Y version has been pretty hard for me using a full team of 6 and not using Exp.share/lucky egg. Wulfric outleveled me by 6 or 7.

I've stayed on level with all of the gyms with minimal grinding; and swept all of them even in my initial playthrough.

As for Cynthia, I never had much trouble with her. Once I got through her Spiritomb, I wiped the floor with her.

Even then, one difficult battle doesn't really say much for the rest of the game. She was the only battle that actually felt like a battle.

Though, Gen II was only difficult due to poor pacing.

Gen 2 was difficult around Kanto, heck, it was hard after the Snorlax, the first half of the game is more gimmick than hard, as only Whitney can beat you.
