  1. I hate when someone's response to someone feeling extreme anger is: do something calming, think about why you are angry, defuse the anger. No, no, and no. Defusing the anger is not a valid solution in many cases, defusing the anger only stops THAT outburst. The anger is still very much present, only dormant an waiting to explode.       anger, is to literally find an outlet that does not harm you or another person. You direct the explosion somewhere safe. Like trying to defuse a real explosive, trying to defuse anger can literally cause an outburst to happen earlier and possibly be more violent. Outlets such as let's say working out, laying in to a heavy bag, or even going for a run are much better solutions to just letting it become dormant.

      That is exactly what I do... Defusing the anger is extremely stressful and totally not helpful.. Instead channelling it into something physical such as exercise is far better.. This not only improves your mood, but not repressing the anger and working out actually makes you a healthier person, both physically and emotionally..
