1. I'm sure we could come up with a better name if we tried. I was iffy on it too, but I couldn't think of anything else to name it that stayed true to flavor lol. That's open to change, too. But check the link, guys! The way one would create the Cavern here would be to (a. use Rock Tomb with a Pokemon with the special held item (to create a Cave), and (b. use Power Gem with either the same mon or a different mon. It's harder to set up by design, but not impossible. I'm sure there are some really interesting synergistic options for users of those two moves. I can see Breloom and Starmie working well together. As far as making it easier to set up certain fields, idk what a balanced way to implement that would be. Maybe requiring a held item, move, and something else? But then again, it would be super game-breaking if one mon could set up something like the Fairy Tale Field (which you can't terminate) completely on its own. Unless maybe you use one of the three Terrain moves? That could work but then the meta might be heavily centralized around those moves. But then again, you might be onto something.
2. Right, but in this model, the only way to set up Underwater with PULSE mons is to first set up an Icy Field, turn that into one of the Surface fields, and then Underwater. Nothing can set up Underwater on standard terrain because it's not directly terminable. Mons can't change anything they want in every circumstance lol, that would be totally busted. If you didn't check the link, you should, bc it tells you what can change which fields. It's not final and is definitely open to modification but it will give you a better idea of what things would look like. EDIT: The best scenario I can think of for a team built around the Underwater field is opening with PULSE Lanturn and going for Ice Beam, Whirlpool, and Volt Switch in the first 3 turns. Switch into Manaphy, use Dive, and start setting up Tail Glow. That might be hard to execute because of how low Lanturn's defense stat is. Its HP is high enough that you could probably get away with investing in Defense, but you still might have to play carefully.
3. Hi, everyone! I'm not 100% certain if this is the correct place to post this thread, but I'm going to go ahead anyway: I've been mostly away from Pokemon for about 3 years now. I might engage in some battles on Showdown once every few months, but other than that, the only Pokemon-related item that I've given considerable time to is complaining about Gen 6 OU Pokemon Reborn. One fateful day, I was looking over the field effects scheduled to be implemented in E16, while reminiscing over the weather wars of old. Then the thought hit me -- what if there were a metagame that utilized one of the great aspects of the greatest Pokemon game ever created to form a competitive scene of sheer greatness? (someone find this man a thesaurus) It seemed like such a sweet idea to me that I took the liberty to draw up a 'blueprint' for how such a format could work. I encountered a problem immediately, as out of the 35 field effects announced, only 6 (Electric, Grassy, Misty, Burning, Swamp, and Rainbow) can be created with no other field effect already present. My solution lies in a made-up item: the PULSE Machine. Le gasp! (the name is subject to change) A Pokemon holding a PULSE Machine is said to be a PULSE Pokemon, and only one PULSE Pokemon would be permitted per team (kinda like Megas). Each field would have a dedicated move that, when used by a PULSE Pokemon, creates it. For simplicity's sake, I just chose each field's Nature Power move. For instance, a PULSE Pokemon using Thunderbolt would create Electric Terrain immediately after the opposing Pokemon finishes taking damage -- and any field created by a PULSE Pokemon is permanent until transformed or terminated. If Thunderbolt were to fail or miss, nothing happens. Since not all fields are created equal (Underwater allows for Slowbro to speed-tie with fully-invested Jolly Weavile), I think it would be best if when on standard terrain, players could only create fields that are directly terminable. You know, for balancing reasons. All these nonsense PULSE Machine rules are present in addition to the rules of the field effects, obviously. As another example, while a PULSE Pokemon can use Acid Spray in Misty Terrain to create a Corrosive Mist Field, any Pokemon can use Clear Smog to achieve the exact same end. As far as what Pokemon would be legal in this new meta, I was thinking that implementing the standard OU banlist with an additional Mega Stones ban might be a good idea. Not much can really take hits these days, even without the aid of field effects. stall is dead, long live stall </3 The list of what creates what when (which is subject to change) can be found here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1dKtpd7F2Hku5RzW4PDCSoAWU1Q-zvY-9CAzjWpPscHE/edit ^ don't forget to read! ^ I realize that there are likely some logistical and ethical concerns with this idea. If so, I'm sure that Ame or the other admins/mods/aces will let me know. (Please do!) There's also invariably loads of coding involved in an undertaking like this one, and I'm not the resident expert in that department xD Although, maybe I could learn. At the moment, this all seems like pie in the sky to me. But who knows -- with a little help from the community (you guys) and sufficient levels of support, maybe this pipe dream could become reality. If you have any suggestions for things that should be amended, completely new ideas, or even theories on what Pokemon or fields would dominate the meta, give me a reply! ~ Thanks!
4. Welcome to all of Poke-Place Reborn! Welcome, one and all, to my very first RMT! I'd like to start off by saying that I built this team for one reason: to take on the Reborn League with. What makes Reborn stand out from all the rest of the servers is that a lot of the battlers here (including me) are very effective at using underused and underestimated Pokemon to a lethal extent. That's just what many of the League teams tend to do. So, my strategy had me begin by having one check a certain amount of types, since (in my understanding) you must use the same team to defeat the entire league. Here's the Teambuilding Strategy: For the record, I haven't used this team yet, so I will appreciate any feedback of constructive criticism. This is also the first team that I would use that wasn't stolen via an importable, because creativity is an are in which I generally suck at. So, without further adieu, here's my team! Tyranitar (M) @ Leftovers Trait: Sand Stream EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Def Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk) - Stone Edge - Ice Punch - ThunderPunch - Crunch Standard T-tar with a twist. Dual STAB moves for utilizing Tyranitar's great Attack stat, ThunderPunch for Bulky Waters, and Ice Punch for slow Ground types that switch into me, thinking they can get off an Earthquake. Garchomp (M) @ Leftovers Trait: Sand Veil EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk) - Earthquake - Fire Fang - Swords Dance - Outrage Old School 'Chomp. Dual STABs to KO things, and Fire Fang to kill Skarms and Bronzongs that switch in on me and think they're safe. I run SD over Dragon Dance because I run a Jolly Nature on Garchomp. Gliscor (M) @ Toxic Orb Trait: Poison Heal EVs: 180 Atk / 252 Def / 76 Spd Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk) - Acrobatics - Earthquake - Fling - Substitute AcroFling Gliscor at its finest. Dual STABs yet again for power. Acrobat is there specifically for bulky Fighting types(i.e. Conkeldurr). Toxic Orb/Poison Heal for Lefties x2. Yay. Reuniclus (M) @ Leftovers Trait: Overcoat EVs: 252 Def / 252 SAtk / 4 SDef Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk) - Psychic - Focus Blast - Calm Mind - Recover Standard Reuniclus. Not much else to say here. Psychic and Focus Blast for near perfect neutral coverage, while Overcoat protects it from the Sandstorm. Plus, it's a bulky-ass tank. Ferrothorn (M) @ Leftovers Trait: Iron Barbs EVs: 4 Atk / 252 Def / 252 SDef Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk) - Power Whip - Gyro Ball - Protect - Stealth Rock Ferrothorn's not going anywhere anytime soon for one reason: It's the best stall wall hazard-layer in existence. Dual STAB moves for coverage, and Protect so that I can have a scout on this team, because I would otherwise lack one. Chandelure (M) @ Choice Specs Trait: Shadow Tag EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk) - Shadow Ball - Flamethrower - Energy Ball - Psychic Sandy Chandy FTW. There's a reason why Smogon banned this thing. Shadow Tag was the entire cause of Wobbuffet being banned to Ubers for so long. So, put Shadow Tag on the best Special Attacker outside of Ubers, and you get the world's best Revenge Killer. Chandelure owns without Specs, but with them, it rapes. The moveset is self-explanatory. Energy Ball for Water types and Psychic for coverage. It's a Shiny sprite because I own a Shiny Chandelure in White Version I hope you guys liked the team! Leave a comment if you can. That'd be nice. Importable:
5. Highest base stats (average) in total.
6. Right again. Allan: 9 Will: 8 What Pokemon has the highest base stats of any Fighting-type?
7. I had some spare time, so I decided to post a Russian Roulette-type game on the forum games. I'm going to be using the randomizer ( http://www.mathayward.com/randomiser/ ) for this game, so don't complain if your character gets killed on turn 1! This game accepts 6 slots, and I will not be playing so that's 6 slots for competitiveness. How it'll work is, the first 6 people to PM me the name of the Pokemon they want to use for Russian Roulette get to play. I will put the names of the 6 Pokemon in the randomizer. The first 2 Pokemon picked then go into the randomizer by themselves. One will get selected to go to the life or death round. Then, I will put this into the randomizer: Alive, Alive, Alive, Alive, Alive, Dead. If it turns up dead, the player and their Pokemon are out of the game. The last Pokemon standing wins! (along with the player of course) So, when I have 6 PMs, I will edit the title to say: Russian Roulette: Pokemon Style. The game has started! And every time a member joins, I will edit the slot count in the title. For example, if 4 people have joined it would say: Russian Roulette: Pokemon Style. 2 slots remaining! So, PM me to play this deathmatch of epic proportions!
8. Oh. A wolf. How did I not get that xD
9. Nice job, I meant for you to include Pokemon that can't evolve too (Absol) but still, you have the points. Will: 8 Allan: 6 What is the fastest Chloyphyll user?
10. FIRE 1st: Houndoom 2nd: Castform Sunny Form
11. Randomizer is being used for the first Hurt/Heal on the Reborn forums. GRASS 1st: Bellossom 2nd: Carnivine
12. Ok, nobody's playing, so I'm gonna have to use the randomizer to determine who wins; unless someone stops me in the next 5 minutes. http://www.mathayward.com/randomiser/
13. 1: Pikachu 2: Ninetales 3: Hitmonchan? 4: Purugly? 5: Azelf 6: ?
14. Nice job, before I saw it on Serebii today, I didn't even know BalmMushrooms existed! Will: 8 Allan: 3 How many fully evolved Pokemon get the ability Justified in the Dream World, and what are they?
15. WujiKyurem

Poke Names

Nice picture, Kyu. Noctowl
16. Right, and right again! Will: 5 (The bonus is 2 points) Allan: 3 Here's a hard one: What hold item is found on 1% of wild Paras, Parasect, Foongus and Amoonuss?
17. Allan: 3 points Correct! Next Question: What is the only Pokemon that is immune to both Sandstorm and Hail? Bonus: What is the only Pokemon that can have Hurricane and Thunder in one moveset?
18. Seeing as there is no trivia thread right now in the Game Corner, I feel as if it's a good time to start one. Here are the rules. 1. Obviously, forum rules apply. 2. Questions are generally worth 3 points apiece. Questions may be divided into multiple parts, with certain amount of points for each part answered correctly. Most of the questions will be Pokemon-based, though I may throw in one or two oddballs every now and again. 3. There is no 3. 4. The aim of the game is to be the first to get 30 points, upon which the game will end. If there aren't a lot of answers, I may increase this number. But since Reborn is pretty small, this probably won't be likely. (For those doing the math, it's basically the first person to answer 10 questions correctly.) 5. The 3 points for the question will go to the first person to answer it correctly. If a person only got one part of the question right, later posters are free to fill in the rest, and they will be awarded points at my discretion. (If it turns out that there are more answers to a question than I had given, and you give me an answer that is also correct, you will be credited. Maybe.) 6. If no one has answered the question within a prolonged period of time, I will post a new question to hasten the pace. The old question will be annulled. 7. Looking at informational sites to find answers is cheating, and it's pretty sad if you do. Unless I specifically say you can. 8. If you guess a question once, you may not retry the same question, unless I specifically say you can. 9. Because of this, you are not allowed to edit your posts. Insert what I said about #7 here. 10. If you want, you can submit a question yourself to be used in this trivia. To do so, PM me and let me know the question in private (as well as the answer). I may accept your question. I usually like accepting more off-the-wall questions or ones that require a lot more thought. However, if you give me a question, and I use it, you may not answer for that particular question (because, well, you know the answer already). I will announce your name when I give the question if that is the case. Here is your first question: Which two Pokemon have the highest HP stat for a dual type? (they're tied)
