1. Reviving this. So, I heard that in E16...

Spoiler

There is a book located somewhere that contains backstory on Radomus. Has anyone managed to find it and knows what it says?

Also, I think it's super likely that we'll see everyone from the Luna arc (and Serra) in E17, given that they haven't showed up in a very long time, and there are lots of loose ends to be tied -- and if it's any indication, 5 of the 6 characters that the MC had gone the longest amount of time without seeing were involved in E16 (including Arclight, who made his story debut). Another reason is that we've seen plenty of cultists and new world orderlies without ever crossing paths with THE cult master himself, El. Finally, looking at the quote spoken to Titania from E17 teaser, the only person I can see saying it where it would even remotely make sense other than El is Sirius. It can't be Lin; we just saw her. Same for Zero, and he's clearly in no shape to jump back in the fray. It can't be Taka because he doesn't even agree with his dad's goals, let alone Lin's. I also very strongly doubt that it could be Solaris because of his line (and Sirius' follow-up) in E15 right before the raid on the Fiore Mansion. "Now, we move. For the purification of our world." "For the creation of a new one. Old fool." So I definitely see a feud there; maybe even a total disavowal of Solaris and Taka from the rest of Meteor. And then, everyone else associated with Meteor (Blake, Terra, Fern, Sigmund) is nowhere near committed enough to speak that fervently. However, that being said, it might not be Sirius either -- because even though it's been a long time since we battled him, he did at least appear in the last episode. That's much more than El can say, and I think it's safe to predict that where there's El, there's Bennett Radomus.

Haha yeah, I probably jinxed myself.

After E16 though, I'm pretty convinced that

Spoiler

the battle with Lin will essentially take the place of the Champion battle. So if anything, she'd probably get Based God 'banned-from-the-banlist' Quay-quay.

And PULSE Darkrai if mine and Tapu Fufu's theory about Agate City is correct.

This was Season 3, where Terra was one of the three Gym Leaders in the Champion Block, so she could use a Mega. The other three who could use Megas were not high enough to. IRL League Rankings were not the same as in-game ones, but Gym Leaders 13-18 will be able to use Megas in-game.

See, the funny thing is that I used to know that. I let the speculation get the better of me  :L

It goes: Entry, Low, Middle, High, Elite, Champion. IIRC.

So that would make the Elite Block consist of Ciel, Adrienn, and Titania.

I don't think Ame would give Legendaries to the final three leaders though (or even to the Elite Four for that matter), like in the real league. Or would she??

The suspense is real.

4. Ok, now I'm confused. So I searched up some league matches from 2014. Turns out that between irl Ciel and the other in-game Mega users,

Spoiler

(Arclight and Adrienn)

none of them use the Pokemon that they Mega Evolve in-game. But irl Terra used Mega Chomp??

Check out these links:

Mega-Garchomp is probably going to be Solaris' ace, which is why Terra wasn't given one.

Other explanations I could think of is Terra being slightly too early in the game for mega evolutions, and the original Reborn League's Ground leader not using Mega Garchomp, which would justify Terra not having it either.

Ahh, I didn't think of that! Terra not using Mega Chomp irl would make this less nonsensical. Especially if Ciel really used Mega Altaria and

Spoiler

Arclight used Mega Ampharos.

Still would be lying if I said I didn't want to see it happen, though. Lol

6. 15 minutes ago, Azeria said:

AV Garchomp works better on her field and considering Solaris' runs a sand team, Mega Garchomp is arguably more fitting for him.

That may be so, but Terra runs Hippo and Excadrill, too. If that's not enough, maybe Ame can give one of her mons Sandstorm?

Base Garchomp is more threatening anyway, all things considered. Aesthetically, Solaris having a Mega Chomp definitely works, but it should still be the case that Solaris' ace is more imposing than Terra's. Plus, PULSE Pokemon are a thing, and Team Meteor made them. Their leader having a Mega could be seen as antithetical to the purpose of the PULSE Machines.

7. This is a bit out of the blue, but I always found it strange that the eccentric gym leader who literally has 'Mega' as her trainer tag doesn't have a Mega-Evolved Pokemon on her team -- namely, Mega Garchomp. It's actually a pretty reasonable pick-up for her, since Mega Garchomp is the only Mega Evolution that arguably makes its base form worse overall. Granted, that might be nullified by the level advantage it has on the MC's team, but nerfs or buffs to her team can be given appropriately. I still think it's a great idea. This change would primarily serve to differentiate Terra's Garchomp from Solaris' Garchomp, which is iconic at this point, let's face it. And even beyond that, Mega Garchomp hits much harder than its vanilla form while being slower (like Terra lugging around her mallet), and it just straight-up looks like a Pokemon that Terra would use. Not to mention, Garchomp is her ace. One would hope that such a unique character would have a unique signature mon.

Thoughts?

8. Which characters do you think we'll see in E17? I took the liberty of putting together a list of the last time each character made an appearance in a plot-related capacity. Correct me on any mistakes.

I have a feeling a certain legendary will eventually notice that an entire town is sleeping, and Team Meteor will be prepared to pounce on it and make it submit to their will. Probably not next episode, but eventually.

That's actually pretty brilliant. Shadows of Almia all over again? I don't know why this possibility never occurred to me until now; good catch!

Spoiler

And to me, it makes perfect sense for a final battle with Lin to involve a PULSE Darkrai. Something about that just seems right. Supercharging a Pokémon for the purpose of inflicting eternal torture on victims (through Darkrai's eternal nightmares) is certainly befitting of a character who rips off heads and legs, tears out eyes, and staged the fights with Victoria and Arclight both; which, under the circumstances, were essentially gladiator matches. Lin is at once the one-woman crowd who can show a pollice verso thumbs down any time she chooses, and the sadistic empress who keeps the MC and others alive just to torture them.

10. I usually don't do these anymore, but since mde and Njab aren't here...

So, I did a couple of loops around the forest and everything happened normally. I was able to find the way normally, soo idk?

Anyway, I saved in Spinel Town so you can continue your stuff. Here:

attachicon.gifGame.rxdata

Thanks a bunch! That's strange though. I guess I must've thought I looped around more times than I did ^_^

11. So I started up a new game about a week ago. Today, I went inside the Voclain Estate and was about to battle Serra, but I had some level-grinding to do. I went back through Tanzan Mountain and trained up my party at the Cove. When I finally finished, went to Chrysolia Forest, and tried to go back through the way I had left, there was a tree blocking the way. I didn't know what was going on, because nothing was teleporting anymore. I thought going to a new area might fix it, so I took one step into the Railnet and came back out. Now I can't even get past the house with the guy that trades for Mothim. In addition, the earthquakes stopped. I don't know what could've caused things to happen this way :/ It looks like you'll have to get rid of excess trees -- just enough so I can pass into Spinel Town. And judging by how common this "Frozen after the Ice Gym" bug is, you might be seeing more of me soon. Let's hope not..

13. I'm sure we could come up with a better name if we tried. I was iffy on it too, but I couldn't think of anything else to name it that stayed true to flavor lol. That's open to change, too. But check the link, guys! The way one would create the Cavern here would be to (a. use Rock Tomb with a Pokemon with the special held item (to create a Cave), and (b. use Power Gem with either the same mon or a different mon. It's harder to set up by design, but not impossible. I'm sure there are some really interesting synergistic options for users of those two moves. I can see Breloom and Starmie working well together. As far as making it easier to set up certain fields, idk what a balanced way to implement that would be. Maybe requiring a held item, move, and something else? But then again, it would be super game-breaking if one mon could set up something like the Fairy Tale Field (which you can't terminate) completely on its own. Unless maybe you use one of the three Terrain moves? That could work but then the meta might be heavily centralized around those moves. But then again, you might be onto something.

14. Right, but in this model, the only way to set up Underwater with PULSE mons is to first set up an Icy Field, turn that into one of the Surface fields, and then Underwater. Nothing can set up Underwater on standard terrain because it's not directly terminable. Mons can't change anything they want in every circumstance lol, that would be totally busted. If you didn't check the link, you should, bc it tells you what can change which fields. It's not final and is definitely open to modification but it will give you a better idea of what things would look like.

EDIT: The best scenario I can think of for a team built around the Underwater field is opening with PULSE Lanturn and going for Ice Beam, Whirlpool, and Volt Switch in the first 3 turns. Switch into Manaphy, use Dive, and start setting up Tail Glow. That might be hard to execute because of how low Lanturn's defense stat is. Its HP is high enough that you could probably get away with investing in Defense, but you still might have to play carefully.

15. Hi, everyone! I'm not 100% certain if this is the correct place to post this thread, but I'm going to go ahead anyway:

I've been mostly away from Pokemon for about 3 years now. I might engage in some battles on Showdown once every few months, but other than that, the only Pokemon-related item that I've given considerable time to is complaining about Gen 6 OU Pokemon Reborn. One fateful day, I was looking over the field effects scheduled to be implemented in E16, while reminiscing over the weather wars of old. Then the thought hit me -- what if there were a metagame that utilized one of the great aspects of the greatest Pokemon game ever created to form a competitive scene of sheer greatness? (someone find this man a thesaurus) It seemed like such a sweet idea to me that I took the liberty to draw up a 'blueprint' for how such a format could work. I encountered a problem immediately, as out of the 35 field effects announced, only 6 (Electric, Grassy, Misty, Burning, Swamp, and Rainbow) can be created with no other field effect already present. My solution lies in a made-up item: the PULSE Machine. Le gasp!
(the name is subject to change)

A Pokemon holding a PULSE Machine is said to be a PULSE Pokemon, and only one PULSE Pokemon would be permitted per team (kinda like Megas). Each field would have a dedicated move that, when used by a PULSE Pokemon, creates it. For simplicity's sake, I just chose each field's Nature Power move. For instance, a PULSE Pokemon using Thunderbolt would create Electric Terrain immediately after the opposing Pokemon finishes taking damage -- and any field created by a PULSE Pokemon is permanent until transformed or terminated. If Thunderbolt were to fail or miss, nothing happens. Since not all fields are created equal (Underwater allows for Slowbro to speed-tie with fully-invested Jolly Weavile), I think it would be best if when on standard terrain, players could only create fields that are directly terminable. You know, for balancing reasons. All these nonsense PULSE Machine rules are present in addition to the rules of the field effects, obviously. As another example, while a PULSE Pokemon can use Acid Spray in Misty Terrain to create a Corrosive Mist Field, any Pokemon can use Clear Smog to achieve the exact same end. As far as what Pokemon would be legal in this new meta, I was thinking that implementing the standard OU banlist with an additional Mega Stones ban might be a good idea. Not much can really take hits these days, even without the aid of field effects.
stall is dead, long live stall </3

The list of what creates what when (which is subject to change) can be found here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1dKtpd7F2Hku5RzW4PDCSoAWU1Q-zvY-9CAzjWpPscHE/edit
^ don't forget to read! ^

I realize that there are likely some logistical and ethical concerns with this idea. If so, I'm sure that Ame or the other admins/mods/aces will let me know. (Please do!) There's also invariably loads of coding involved in an undertaking like this one, and I'm not the resident expert in that department xD
Although, maybe I could learn.
At the moment, this all seems like pie in the sky to me. But who knows -- with a little help from the community (you guys) and sufficient levels of support, maybe this pipe dream could become reality.

If you have any suggestions for things that should be amended, completely new ideas, or even theories on what Pokemon or fields would dominate the meta, give me a reply!
~ Thanks! :D

16. Welcome to all of Poke-Place Reborn!

Welcome, one and all, to my very first RMT! I'd like to start off by saying that I built this team for one reason: to take on the Reborn League with. What makes Reborn stand out from all the rest of the servers is that a lot of the battlers here (including me) are very effective at using underused and underestimated Pokemon to a lethal extent. That's just what many of the League teams tend to do. So, my strategy had me begin by having one check a certain amount of types, since (in my understanding) you must use the same team to defeat the entire league.

Here's the Teambuilding Strategy:

I started off by just looking at the first 4 leaders, thinking about what kind of Pokemon can take care of Grass, Poison, Bug, and Electric types. I saw that Grass and Bug are weak to Fire, and that Poison and Electric are weak to Ground. I instantly thought of Garchomp, considering it has the amazing stats to get the job done. So, it became the first member of my team.

I glanced at the next 4 leaders. Their types were Normal, Fighting, Rock, and Ghost. I linked Rock with Ground, and for Fighting I thought of a Flying move. Ground/Flying... Since I can't use Landorus, then Gliscor it is.

The next 4 were Ice, Psychic, Dark, and Steel. Fire beats Ice and Steel, while Psychic falls to Ghost. With Choice Specs, a Chandelure can easily pave the way with these two attacks.

Next was Fire, Water, Ground, and Flying. When I saw Water and Ground, I thought, "hmm, they're both weak to Grass..." Enter Ferrothorn. The first thing I noticed was that it was beginning to look like a Sandstorm team, and that Tyranitar could be a good check to Fire and Flying types. Thus the Sandstorm core was complete.

Since I currently only have one Special Attacker, I needed a nice, efficient sweeper that could also take some hits from the various types of Pokemon I'd be facing. Reuniclus seemed to fit nicely.

For the record, I haven't used this team yet, so I will appreciate any feedback of constructive criticism. This is also the first team that I would use that wasn't stolen via an importable, because creativity is an are in which I generally suck at. So, without further adieu, here's my team!

Tyranitar (M) @ Leftovers

Trait: Sand Stream

EVs: 4 HP / 252 Atk / 252 Def

Adamant Nature (+Atk, -SAtk)

- Stone Edge

- Ice Punch

- ThunderPunch

- Crunch

Standard T-tar with a twist. Dual STAB moves for utilizing Tyranitar's great Attack stat, ThunderPunch for Bulky Waters, and Ice Punch for slow Ground types that switch into me, thinking they can get off an Earthquake.

Garchomp (M) @ Leftovers

Trait: Sand Veil

EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd

Jolly Nature (+Spd, -SAtk)

- Earthquake

- Fire Fang

- Swords Dance

- Outrage

Old School 'Chomp. Dual STABs to KO things, and Fire Fang to kill Skarms and Bronzongs that switch in on me and think they're safe. I run SD over Dragon Dance because I run a Jolly Nature on Garchomp.

Gliscor (M) @ Toxic Orb

Trait: Poison Heal

EVs: 180 Atk / 252 Def / 76 Spd

Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)

- Acrobatics

- Earthquake

- Fling

- Substitute

AcroFling Gliscor at its finest. Dual STABs yet again for power. Acrobat is there specifically for bulky Fighting types(i.e. Conkeldurr). Toxic Orb/Poison Heal for Lefties x2. Yay.

Reuniclus (M) @ Leftovers

Trait: Overcoat

EVs: 252 Def / 252 SAtk / 4 SDef

Bold Nature (+Def, -Atk)

- Psychic

- Focus Blast

- Calm Mind

- Recover

Standard Reuniclus. Not much else to say here. Psychic and Focus Blast for near perfect neutral coverage, while Overcoat protects it from the Sandstorm. Plus, it's a bulky-ass tank.

Ferrothorn (M) @ Leftovers

Trait: Iron Barbs

EVs: 4 Atk / 252 Def / 252 SDef

Impish Nature (+Def, -SAtk)

- Power Whip

- Gyro Ball

- Protect

- Stealth Rock

Ferrothorn's not going anywhere anytime soon for one reason: It's the best stall wall hazard-layer in existence. Dual STAB moves for coverage, and Protect so that I can have a scout on this team, because I would otherwise lack one.

post-277-0-05062400-1332891086.gif

Chandelure (M) @ Choice Specs

Trait: Shadow Tag

EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd

Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)

- Shadow Ball

- Flamethrower

- Energy Ball

- Psychic

Sandy Chandy FTW. There's a reason why Smogon banned this thing. Shadow Tag was the entire cause of Wobbuffet being banned to Ubers for so long. So, put Shadow Tag on the best Special Attacker outside of Ubers, and you get the world's best Revenge Killer. Chandelure owns without Specs, but with them, it rapes. The moveset is self-explanatory. Energy Ball for Water types and Psychic for coverage. It's a Shiny sprite because I own a Shiny Chandelure in White Version :)

I hope you guys liked the team! Leave a comment if you can. That'd be nice.

Importable:

Tyranitar (M) @ Leftovers

- Ice Punch

- ThunderPunch

- Crunch

Garchomp (M) @ Leftovers

17. I had some spare time, so I decided to post a Russian Roulette-type game on the forum games. I'm going to be using the randomizer ( http://www.mathayward.com/randomiser/ )
for this game, so don't complain if your character gets killed on turn 1! This game accepts 6 slots, and I will not be playing so that's 6 slots for competitiveness. How it'll work is, the first 6 people to PM me the name of the Pokemon they want to use for Russian Roulette get to play. I will put the names of the 6 Pokemon in the randomizer. The first 2 Pokemon picked then go into the randomizer by themselves. One will get selected to go to the life or death round. Then, I will put this into the randomizer: Alive, Alive, Alive, Alive, Alive, Dead. If it turns up dead, the player and their Pokemon are out of the game. The last Pokemon standing wins! (along with the player of course) So, when I have 6 PMs, I will edit the title to say: Russian Roulette: Pokemon Style. The game has started! And every time a member joins, I will edit the slot count in the title. For example, if 4 people have joined it would say: Russian Roulette: Pokemon Style. 2 slots remaining! So, PM me to play this deathmatch of epic proportions!
