I literally searched the room for every alternative to reading the diary because I didn't want to die.

This one NPC decided to get in the way when Victoria wanted to talk to me. For a moment I thought the game was frozen, but then she eventually walked out of the way and the event played as normal. That's quite possibly the funniest thing that's happened in any of my reborn playthroughs.
