Shelly's Yanmega... That mofo!

I'm currently stuck trying to assassanate this stupid pokemon. I was wondering if any of the pros here got any tips or any stratigies they used in smashing this poke up.

Hit it hard, hit it fast because you don't want that thing outspeeding you and spamming Ancient Power. I think I managed to take it down with Emolga's Acrobatics (you learn it fairly early and it's stronger than its Electric attacks, which Yanmega is also weak to). Of course, it's no guarantee Emolga will OKHO it and it might not be meaty enough to survive an Ancient Power. You can take advantage of Yanmega's 4x weakness to Rock with Rollout, if any of your Pokemon know it. I personally recommend Donphan since it's a reliable Pokemon overall, and it's durable enough to survive the attacks it's weak against, especially in this fight. Shelly doesn't hit particularly hard but she can easily overwhelm you if she gets the chance.

Alright I got myself both of those pokemon. So I guess gonna get to training them. Thanks for advice.

Hmm I normally have Gyarados and use Ice fang to get through ( cause I like to go fast), but with Ame removing him soon in the future, you might have saved my speedrun with the suggestion of Donphan. I'll have to go test it later.

What I'm going to be doing against that thing is sending out Manectric just to Thunder Wave it and spam Charge Beam on it. If Manectric fails, Helioptile's ready to take over. (Once I get it to 34 or so)

Pretty much an Electric type or a Pokémon with Rollout will be your best bet. (Azumarill/Donphan get Defense Curl and Rollout combination, which doubles Rollout's base power if Defense Curl is used first)

..Huge Power + Defense Curl + Rollout Azumarill = Dead Yanmega

Consider carrying an entry hazard like Stealth Rocks on your team: this gym's type is weak to bug, so it'll take a 25% off her Pokemon's HP (or half of Yanmega's HP, due to 4x rock weakness) whenever she sends them in. It should make sweeping her team significantly easier for you.

I finally defeated her with aerobatics panpour and emolga. Then used speed boost blazekin to sweep most of her other bug types.
