Tale of Two Hearts quest in Kristiline Town help

Hi, started the quest yesterday and got pretty far I think, I'm currently stuck at the mirror puzzle. I did the first part to move the ladder, but when I move the second statue on the upper floor nothing happens. I've been stuck here for a couple of hours. Please Help
