v13 green stripes?

Heyo,

 

I just downloaded v13 and tried to start it up, but the game window is filled with green stripes and other graphical weirdness... It persists past the title screen as well.

This is on windows 10 and my graphics drivers are up to date. I also tried re-downloading the game from Jan's post and from the new website. I'm launching the game with the included exe without other launchers or anything-- just straight out of the box.

 

Any ideas as to what might be wrong?

If anyone else is having this problem, it's most likely bc your graphics card doesn't like MKXP, or more specifically, OpenGL. Cass posted about this in the dev blog, but it was weird for me bc I have a geforce RTX 2060 which should be compatible-- but I found that in the graphics settings, the computer was running the game with the integrated graphics, which isn't compatible.

 

TLDR: Graphics settings in computer settings --> in "choose an app to set preference" pick "desktop app" and select the game.exe --> in "Options" set to your graphics card (probably listed as "high performance") instead of "let windows decide" or "Intel UHD Graphics"

 

Note: this is assuming your graphics card is compatible with all this-- if not, please look at Cass' post in the dev blog

I would like to share how I fixed this problem. I am using a Lenovo laptop with win10, i7 core, and UHD Graphics 620. My problem is that I cannot upgrade the intel graphic driver. (It seems that it is prevented by Lenovo.) I just uninstall my current graph driver and restart. Then my laptop asked me to reinstall and the green lines disappear. The following link may help.
