So, question from a non-modder to resident modders: is it possible to implement Ash-/Battle Bond Greninja in Pokemon Reborn?

From a non models perspective, no. Ash-Greninja will not be in Reborn at any point. I also did some digging, and I couldn't find a mod available for that. However, I wouldn't be surprised if one comes out later.

It's probably technically possible, though I don't know if someone could get the mechanics to work exactly the same as in canon.  Maybe someone desperate enough for A-Greninja will make a mod of it some day.

Well, there's two reasons why it wont be added:
Reborn has no affiliation with Ash, nor the core games
As it is nor an normal ability or an hidden ability, it can only be obtained with in-game events or out-game events

Well, enough that: Heres how Battle Bond would work:
1. Copy Moxie's Code
2. Edit the ability to change forms instead of boosting stats
3. Give Greninja a second form
4. Somehow make the Battle Bond Greninja obtainable

Thanks for the answers, especially to @blackw. If I ever get into modding, I'll try that.

I know that Ash-Greninja will never be implemented in the proper game, hence why I asked about it in the mod section. Still, as a Greninja user in-game, I hope someday there will be a Reborn version of Ash-Greninja, maybe with its own color scheme and renamed Reborn-Greninja (which actually would be a much better name). My idea would be for it to be the reward for completing the post-game and the Pokedex (including the Legendaries), and then it could be transferred if the player started a New Game. Again, just wishful thinking.
