Sonic

Thundurus-T (M) @ Life Orb

Trait: Volt Absorb

EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd

Modest Nature (+SAtk, -Atk)

- Agility

- Thunder

- Focus Blast

- Hidden Power [ice]

This is good pokemon to use in rain since it can absorb water moves and its powerful stab Thunder will always hit. After an agility it will sweep through whole team with its special attack being well over 400. Thunder because super strong and stab, Focus Blast to take down rock/ steel / dark bulky pokemon and Hidden power ice to take down dragonites and ground pokemon. WIth life orb you will get even more power making the attacks more lethal than they already are.

~Overcharge

Thundurus-T (M) @ Choice Scarf

Trait: Volt Absorb

EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd

Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)

- Focus Blast

- Hidden Power [ice]

- Thunder

- Volt Switch

With a Timid Scarf, Thundurus can outspeed Base 100 Speed Scarfers/and or +1 Base 100 Speed Pokemon. Thunder is a deadly powerful special attack move from a beastly SpAtt stat from Thundurus-T. His new ability Restores HP among opposing electric moves. This can be paired well with Mons like Politoed, as he also resist's Grass. Volt-Switch can work well with U-turn mons like Scizor, or Genesect. It also gives you switch advantage on the field when the switch out =] Hidden power Ice is for Dragons like Garchomp, Dragonite, Salamence, and also Gliscor's. Focus blast hits hard on Tyranitar as it is x4 weak, and can hopefully help win the weather war if you are using Rain with Thundy-T (which is reccomend). EV's are to maximize the ammount of speed and SpAtt Thundy-T can deal and outspeed. 4HP for bulk.

Destroyer

Thundurus-T (M) @ Leftovers

Trait: Volt Absorb

EVs: 4 HP / 252 SAtk / 252 Spd

Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)

- Nasty Plot

- Thunder

- Hidden Power [ice]

- Focus Blast

Same as the Agility set except i made it timid to out speed a more variety of pokemon. Nasty Plot makes Thundorus-T sp att to almost 800 and with that kind of power and speed you will be able to late game sweep with it. This set works better in the rain just because thunder has more power than thunder bolt and its accuracy is perfect in rain and there will be more chances to heal up if opponent tries to electrify one of you water pokemon. Focus Blast for the Bulky Steel, Rock and Normal types and Hidden power ice for amazing coverage against dragon types and ground and grass aswell.

Let's Get Physical, Physical, Let's Get Physicaaaaaaaaaaaallllllllllllllll

Thundurus-T (M) @ Expert Belt / Choice Band

Trait: Volt Absorb

EVs: 252 Atk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd

Jolly Nature (+Spd, -Atk)

- Wild Charge / ThunderPunch

- Superpower / Brick Break

- Bulk Up / U-turn

- Crunch / Fly

With Thundurus's 105 base Attack and nice physical movepool, it's a shame that it gets overlooked for the surprise factor. Wild Charge highlights this physical movepool as its strongest physcial attack aside from Giga Impact (135 base power counting STAB), but ThunderPunch may be more desirable, trading 30 base power for not killing yourself. Superpower is the Fighting-type attack that works in conjunction with Bulk Up, which is one of the best boosting moves out there; that and Thundurus-T is one of the fastest users of Bulk Up (except the Incarnates, it's 4th behind Tornadus, Floatzel, and Infernape). However, it's understandable if you want to haveThundurus scout instead, in which case you'd use U-turn. Crunch gets the elusive Ghost-types, but Fly makes things interesting. With it, the opponent will most likely bring out a resistance which then gets smashed to high hell with Superpower.

TRY THIS!

Shaken, Not Stirred

Thundurus-T (M) @ Expert Belt

Trait: Volt Absorb

EVs: EVs: 216 Atk / 40 SAtk / 252 Spd

Naive Nature (+Spd, -SDef)

- Fly

- Superpower

- Thunder / Thunderbolt

- Hidden Power [ice]

Thundurus-T has 105 base Attack. That allows it to run a mixed set featuring a double coverage core. Fly is STAB, and it's an interesting move; it dodges the opponent's (maybe) slower attack, and often the opponent, after being a bit befuddled as to why you'd run physical Thundurus at all nevermind with Fly, will switch in a Rock- or Steel-type Pokemon that resists it. As they're pretty much all slower barring Aerodactyl and Archeops, that tees them up for a Superpower right to the face, eliminating most of them immediately, or doing enough damage that they'll be dead the following turn from an attack from the special side. That consists of an Electric-type move (Thunder or Thunderbolt, depending on whether you want to run this team in rain) and Hidden Power [ice], keeping Thundurus's true nature intact. There's tons of options that Thundurus-T can run on mixed, really; I just couldn't be bothered listing them all.

  • 4 months later...

Thundurus-T (M) @ Expert Belt / Life Orb

Trait: Volt Absorb

EVs: 252 SAtk / 4 SDef / 252 Spd

Timid Nature (+Spd, -Atk)

- Agility

- Nasty Plot

- Thunder

- Focus Blast / Hidden Power [ice]

This thing has swept me more times than I can remember... Here's the game plan. You either Agility or Nasty Plot depending on whether you need to out speed, or simply annihilate your opponents team. There will actually be times where you have the opportunity to set up both. If you do that, it's an easy whatever-0 since nothing to my knowledge can stand up to this threat. Item of choice is actually really important here. You can go Life Orb if you want constant power(especially for those times you can only get up an Agility), or you can go Expert Belt for more longevity. HP Ice isn't really recommended but I put it there because it does give you BoltBeam coverage.
