Gen 7 Pokemon in previous chapters

I remember early in the game, you battle Fern in the Onyx Trainer's School and he has a Lombre, Servine and Roselia.

But I saw a video on Youtube recently and now he has a Sandile, Roselia and Dartrix. 

So... does every trainer now has a new updated team?

from what I know there are some major and some minor trainers with new teams

Yup, Like Victoria's pick is a Litleo in the new version. The scientist outside of reborn HQ brings out a yungoose......gen 7 are making their appearances in early games

Also it seems trainers with signiture types like Fern and Cain are using pokemons from other types much earlier in the story(i could be misremembering previous versions though)
