How does weather work now?

I'm in E16 and I am looking forward to a sunny day so I can get a [redacted].

I've had three real time days of storms now (after weather that seemed normal), and tried bumping around the clock by hours, days, weeks, and years.  Did I break it?

It also is a little knackered in the community release

 

But for the public release it has been fixed.

Weather now comes in 5 day cycles and updates every 8 hours, also changing based on region.

for instance if it's raining in the city, it's probably snowing in ametrine

there's also stuff like a chance of sandstorm in apophyll, though it will never snow there even if it is in the city.

weather also can become stronger or weaker as it moves through the cycle, which is only a visual change but i think it's pretty neat.

 

as for how to manipulate it, i can't help you with that, but there's the basics at least.
