Shedinja Problem

So I tried to get a  Shedinja. First i had a level 37 nincada and gave it a great ball to hold. ( Had always atleast 1 spare room for  Shedinj). But only got a Ninjask. So I thought it's either the Great Ball's fault or his to 37 lvl. Then I bread a new Nincada, gave it a Poke Ball and leveled it up to 20 but the result remained the same: Only a Ninjask no Shedinja

Does anyone know what I did wrong or if its a bug or something?

Did you have at least an empty pokeball in your bag? I think your Nincada doesn't need to hold anything. Just level it with a spare pokeball in the bag and an empty slot in your team.

wow, simply WOW. it worked, I'm dumb, thanks a lot man!

(only had one poke ball, that i gave to nincada, so your conclusion was spot on sir!)
