andgarrett Posted November 15, 2015 Posted November 15, 2015 I don't fully understand the glitch field effect. it says that "The physical/special move split is undone." what does that mean exactly? when I use "bulk up" (atk and def up one stage) nothing seems to happen. my physical attacks do the same amount of damage. I think my def gets stronger, but I'm not sure. Quote
Lostelle Posted November 15, 2015 Posted November 15, 2015 i was completely wrong look below lol Quote
Honchy Posted November 15, 2015 Posted November 15, 2015 It's more like, hyper beam is now physical. Quote
andgarrett Posted November 15, 2015 Author Posted November 15, 2015 I know steel type becomes normal, but how does the physical/special split work? Quote
Lord_Ludo Posted November 15, 2015 Posted November 15, 2015 Yes, Honch is correct. Ice, Dragon, Fire, Grass, Electric, Water, Psychic, and Electric moves are special. All others are physical. Fairy, steel, and dark are normal type moves, as they did not exist in Gen 1 Quote
Developers Marcello Posted November 15, 2015 Developers Posted November 15, 2015 Yes, Honch is correct. Ice, Dragon, Fire, Grass, Electric, Water, Psychic, and Electric moves are special. All others are physical. Fairy, steel, and dark are normal type moves, as they did not exist in Gen 1 To elaborate, in Gen I (Indeed, in everything before Gen IV) this is how things where, whether a move was physical or special was based on it's type, not the particular move. So the reason Bulk up isn't seeming to work is you're likely using a move from a 'special' type. Quote
Fumble Posted November 15, 2015 Posted November 15, 2015 The physical/special split occurred in Gen 4. Back in Gen 1, as Ludo said, Ice, Dragon, Fire, Grass, Electric, and Water are all special (basically all the Eeveelutions plus Dragon), and Normal, Bug, Ghost, Poison, Fighting, Flying, Rock, and Ground are all physical.
