  1. I second the quick guard for Madame X, though it doesn’t really change anything, just a little bit of dialogue. For Madelis, I got the Chinese food from the sewers and used Yawn/Ancient Power, though you’ll need one or two stat boosts from the Ancient Power. It’s definitely a luck based match.

  2. No one that we’ve known, but we’ve visited three. Goldenwood, Goomidra, and the crumbling one, Zygara? in the Labyrinth near Sashila. There were 7 kingdoms though, and should probably be 7 castles when rejuv is done. I do agree with the side quest part, if it is a castle, it will almost certainly be a sidequest, just based on the other three.

  3. Alright, so:

    1. I take back what I said about no/little update.

    and

    2. Analysis Time!

So, in the first picture, we have what appears to be an old-fashioned/steampunk type museum. I see a Bastiodon? head on the wall, a teleporter, and a large amount of books and gears. The second picture has a big locked door, Armaldo skeleton, and more gears. Ther is alos a strange, possibly Pokemon related trio of objects towards the right. Based on that, I'd guess that this is possibly related to Saki with the heavy steampunk aesthetic, thought it could also be Past Aevium or the Puppet Master's true housing.

The third picture is perhaps the most enigmatic for me. We are standing on clifftop platform with bricks and tile that at first glance look similar to GDC. Upon close inspection, however the brick color doesn't quite match, and the tile is unlike any I could find. We also see black and red/pink banners, along with possibly traditional Japanese inspired lamps. The whole area seems almost like the entrance to some sort of shrine. Obviously, the three pictures all take place in the same general area, however, I think that the "shrine entrance" could be in a sort of courtyard within the museum portion.

The big question I have is where? Where does all of this fit into Aevium? Is this in Past Aevium, near GDC, Neverwinter, possibly Route 8 and the Dreamyard, or (probably the obvious answer) in some alternate dimension/Rift/etc.

  4. As much as I hope that happens, I doubt that we're getting much soon. Based on the status thread's changes it seems that most of the development has been on the Reservoir, with a little bit of side questing. If anything, I think that it would just be a sort of teaser type thing

  5. When did the old Storm-9 occur?

It can’t be too long before the main story as

    Spoiler

    Nastasia and Cella

were both born pre-Calamity, along with one side character in Sashila. However, both the side character and

    Spoiler

    Nastasia

don’t appear to be very old, unless Jan has said otherwise. But then there’s WLL dialogue and events putting the Calamity at least 25 years before the main story, probably more.

I’d like to place it at roughly 50 years before the main story, but that still doesn’t match perfectly with

    Spoiler

Nastasia, Cella, or the Sashila man’s

ages in the “now” Aevium. Unless Storm-9 is some weird time distorting event or Spacea/Tiempa are involved somehow.

So i still think Xenpurgis is some sort of mind control virus

That does seem likely. Blacksteeple has a little bit of dialogue about how all the people wouldn’t be around much longer. This would imply death, but it could also imply replacement with another personality, or mind control. The name also brings that to mind Walpurgis Night, a central European holiday celebrating Saint Walpurgis, known for battling witchcraft. There’s also a certain anime where a major antagonist is named Walpurgisnacht and is made up of a collection of souls.

Wonder if we will meet Crescent soo

I hope we do next episode.

  7. Hmm. This game has so many hints and small foreshadowings. Everything is probably already in the game, we just haven't looked hard enough!

So I finally reached the Dreamyard on Route 8, and it appears to be an abandoned factory in a forgotten corner of Aevium. Based on the name, it could be related to the Puppet Master and I'd predict that we might be seeing it soon. Or it could be v14 instead - based on the name of the next volume we might not get a gym leader. The Fairy and Dark badges look like they're related and probably going to be obtained at the same time.

  8. So, with Sw/Sh now out some of the new mons seem really powerful. Galarian Darmanitan’s free Choice Band and Rillaboom’s free Grassy Terrain seem like they could unbalance the game in its current form. How do you think Jan will handle them and the new movesets?

TMs will have to be changed for obvious reasons. Hidden Power, Return, Frustration are all not in Gen 8 despite being almost universal in Rejuv. Some of the new moves could be retconned onto some older Pokemon if it fit thematically and new abilities and items need to be added in as well.

  9. Jan said that what we've seen is only about 1/8 of the total, and this seems to be a more mountainous portion of the whole thing. I hope that what we've seen is either going to be given the current aesthetic later in development or the non-colorful portion of the whole thing.

I have just a simple theory on Oblitus town, which is just mostly on the abandon gym that is there.

I think that the abandon gym maybe was the dark type gym for the Aevium region, but since the league couldn't find a replacement gym leader and Grand Dream City was being built, they just left it abando

That is a good theory, especially with what we know about Amanda and whatever schemes she was wrapped up in.

  11. Wooh! New development news!

So, it seems that Jan has revamped Route 4 into a massive area known as “The Reservoir”. It’s a bit of a shame for me, as I really liked Route 4’s aesthetic, but overall I like this change.

Anyway, on to speculation! So basic question, what do you think will happen to the Lost Camp entrance? Personally, I think that it’ll be moved somewhere more “hidden” in the Reservoir, but I want to see what you think. Second, what Pokemon, possible legendaries, and secrets do you guys think could be hiding in the Reservoir? Third, it seems that v13 is going to be BIG, Galar Pokemon, massive old area revamps, and, of course, new story content and areas. I’m actually more hyped for this than Sw/Sh. Finally, who do you think we’ll get to battle in the Reservoir? I’m leaning towards a battle with at least one of the other protagonists, possibly Nim, and maybe even a major story battle later.

  12. Hmm, that purple forest is called Poiloethal Forest which is a pseudoscientific name and eerily similar to Poipole, Nagandel's pre-evolution. I'd guess that the forest is some sort of portal to the Ultra Beast's home dimension and is related to Freya and Kieran in some way. It also has a heavy poison-type theme with both a Poison gem and a poison damage reducing berry found outside. It could be the result of Freya and her Nagandel during the Xen attack on Alamissa.

I still think Nastasia or Cassandra could be one of them. It could be V (the shady character from GDC's Underground who claims to own ANA).

Cassandra could definitely be one of them. We haven't gotten a "proper"* GDC gym battle yet either, and what better way than with the Team Xen affiliated mayor of the City? While I haven't really thought that Nastasia would be a main battle, but after some more thought, it does make sense. Team Xen admin, mysterious pre-calamity figure, seems to want to help us overall. In my opinion, if she isn't a main battle figure, she'll be one of the main "lorekeepers" for us and she'll probably be the one to tell us about the Calamity and help us in the eventual Indriad fight.

*By proper, I mean like a GDC gym leader. The Puppet Master doesn't count as they seem to be more of an "overarching" character. Adam doesn't count as he was part of the tournament and isn't based in GDC, and Flora/Florin barely counts as we hadn't even reached GDC when we battled her/him.

  14. Thanks everyone for the legendary info.

So who thinks the next Gym might be? all we have left are steel(Saki/other) Dragon, (Damien) Fairy(Unknown), and Dark (maybe ambers father)

How many chapters will v13 be? If it's only one, then I think that it'll be something like the Puppet Master for dark type though I'm not sure. If it's two, then I'm predicting dark and dragon. Jan said in the QnA that the dark and fairy leaders are people we've already met along with the Elite 8. Amber's dad was Keta's brother but he died in WLL and doesn't appear in the main game.

  15. Yeah, Melia is probably connected to Xerneas. I hope that in the Box, Nancy left more than just one thing. It would be the perfect way to kick off a hunt for Xerneas too, the fairy-type wielder giving clues to what could stop the Calamity/Storm 9.

I would incude the obviously associated Registeel-Hazuki (metal weapons, armor, rounded hairstyle, completing the triad) and the (although weaker) Regigigas-Nymeria (the leader of the other three, references in the lore).

Thanks for this! I really didn’t stop to think about who could be related to the others (besides the Creation trio), but both of these make sense and help account for some that should have been seen by now, but haven’t.

  16. I still think that the Black Box contains the MegaZ Ring. If Nancy is artificial, then she’s probably a maid akin to Kanon, and we’ve battled “Lingering Regret Nancy” during a sidequest in Amethyst Cave. The Xerneas theory does intrigue me though. Perhaps the box starts our merry band of heroes on a quest for Xerneas/Arceus.

With all the discussion about them, I feel like we should take stock of ALL of the legendaries.

    Spoiler

    - Starting with Kanto, Mewtwo is the only one accounted for, currently MIA along with Crescent who’s “still alive-ness” is almost as obvious as Melia’s in Chapter 2. The Birds and Mew are both unaccounted for.

    - Johto is also lacking in Legendaries accounted for, Celebi in Sheridan Village, and a statue of Suicune in the Shrine of Preservation. The other Beasts and Tower duo are both unaccounted for, though they might have been mentioned in dialogue that I’ve forgotten.

    - Hoenn is when we really start to find some. The Regi trio was all likely under the Protectors of Aevium, though their current locations are unknown. Latios is with Damien and Latias is with Alexandra. Groudon and Kyogre have both been battled in Caratos and Valor respectively. Rayquaza’s whereabouts are still unknown along with Jirachi though “Deoxys” has been battled both in Past Aevium and on Terajuma.

    - Sinnoh is where we really know what’s going on. The Lake trio, in my opinion, are found with their shrines across Aevium. Mesprit in Goldenwood Park, Uxie in Aquamarine Cave, and Azelf in Honec Woods, though these could truly just be shrines. What’s interesting is that all three are in their own separate areas, Secret Shrine, Aquamarine Shrine, and Honec Shrine. The Creation Trio is obviously Spacea, Tiempa, and Griselda. Regigigas's location in the past and present are unknown, but it could be with Nymeria. Phione can be caught, and Arceus is referenced especially with the Archetype and Nymeria. Cresselia and Darkrai are missing, as is Manaphy, Shaymin, and Heatran.

    - Unova is entirely absent, with no appearances for any legendary.

    - Kalos is highly represented. Madame X uses Yveltal, while Indriad is implied to have connections. The Calamity looks to me like an Yveltal attack what with the stone people, huge death zone, and connections between the antagonists. Xerneas isn’t explicitly mentioned, but IT’S THE GAME ICON, for heaven’s sake. Zygarde can be caught and used in battle. Karen has Diancie as her signature Pokemon. Volcanion was in Caratos as a rift, leaving the only one missing as Hoopa.

    - Finally, Alola. There’s not many percentage-wise, but plenty present: Type:Null and Silvally with us and Ren, Xurkitree with Kieran, Nagandel with Freya, Meltan in the EV training room, and Nihilego that appeared in WLL. The rest - the Guardians, Lights, Magearna, Zeraora, Marshadow, Melmetal, and the rest of the Ultra Beasts - are absent.

Edit: updated list from original with new info

  17. Spoiler

After beating Marianette, she says something about remembering everything. I assume that she means Indriad's sacrifices in the prologue, Anathea's death, and Maria's imprisonment in that wierd crystal from WLL. Isha probably messed with Maria's memories before Storm 9 while they were all in old Aevium and could reach Hiyoshi easily.

I agree that Storm 9 was caused by Indriad, but I also think that it was Yveltal who did it. For one, everything but the tall grass in Zone Zero is dead except for a plant in Nymeria's apartment which "seems to have been watered recently". The people are all turned to stone, which reminds me of the XY anime/movie? where any person or animal Yveltal hit became a statue.

Third, Ana, the android, seems to be closely related to the Interceptor and the "six 'A's" in that house that the player has weird reactions to. For one, there's a grave right by it both pre- and post- Calamity, and two, all of Ana's sprites are named sort of... weirdly? I guess. She's a named NPC so we should expect them to be something like Nim_1, or Aelita_5, or Crescent, or even trchar008. But ALL of her sprites are named some variation of "Bgirl_insert whatever here" and there are 17 separate sprite sheets named like that based around Ana. The sprites also follow the pattern of the player characters, including a diving sprite, fishing sprite, running and walking, and two variants:

    BGirlwalkB.png  BGirlwalk_1.png.508525042897531d15e14dea3eb36ab2.png

The first sprite is Ana from the sidequest, simple enough. The second is also Ana, but she has eyes, which is strange, considering it was a fairly large talking point at the beginning of the quest line. Even more interesting is this: mapPlayer007.png.c8767b91aca9bf611c3b788be63ff2e0.png. A map sprite for Ana labeled "mapPlayer007". Ana is almost certainly related to the Interceptor in some way, but what way is it?
