  1. I'm kind of new to competitive. I still despise EVs and IVs but I am now a fan of Smogon and have been more careful with my items, abilities, moves, and BASE stats. I really decided to do competitive when earlier today my Pidgeot (Non-Mega) beat a Yveltal in Pokemon X. I was fighting some girl with the most cliche team ever. A starter, mega, and legendary. Pidgeot, Krookodile, and Chesnaught somehow won, though. But that's getting off topic. ANYWAYS, I have some lovely ideas for buffing mons. And BOY, do I know what I'm gonna do for the first one.

    Image result for cryogonal

I love me some Cryogonal. After watching the Mine Song one million times, I noticed how Cryogonal and "This triagonal sign" rhymed. And If you say Lazytown memes are dumb, one Lazytown meme made me find out about Reborn. So that's wonderful. Anyways, Cryogonal got a little buff in SM, but I was like, LAME! And Cryogonal needs stuff like Shadow Ball and even better Amnesia. Yes. I am aware that a snowflake cannot get Amnesia. But Pokemon never made any real sense. So while I'm on that topic, Cryogonal should maybe get Slush Rush or Snow Warning which now that I think about it Is way better. So Cryogonal should probably use this set If I got my way and Cryogonal was better.

    This Battle Is MINE!

    Ice Beam

    Amnesia

    Iron Defense

    Protect/Toxic/Flash Cannon

    Ability: Snow Warning

    Item: Never-Melt Ice

And A side of the Mine Song

Next Up on my weak little list Is a Water Type. Oh, I mean Dark-Psychic type. Seriously, though. Why is Malamar not part Water?

So I'm actually pretty shocked that MALAMAR is in NU. After all, It's a good troll.

    Opponent: lol used Swords Dance

    Malamar: Oh? (Uses Topsy-Turvy)

    Opponent: I hate you.

    Malamar: Superpower.

Opponent: Hah! You lowered your stats!

Malamar: Oh? Malamar's Attack and Defense rose

Opponent: Of COURSE it has contrary.

What else can be said about Malamar? It's not bad, It just could be better. I know how. First, make It a Water type. Then there would be know more fairies. Yeah, I don't like fairies. They're dumb. And I truly learned this In Pokemon Spork. A certain Witch thought Sylveon could be more viable with more coverage. But I need to stop getting off topic.

Image result for fairy pokemon meme

Malamar needs more ways to take advantage of Contrary. And I know how. PSYCHO BOOST. Yes, It's Deoxys' signature move, but it could easily be expanded onto more Pokemon. Like how First Impression somehow got onto Farfetch'd. A plus two special attack boost every time? Yes, please! SO, in conclusion, Malamar should be like this:

    Ultimate Troll

    Psycho Boost

    Superpower

    Knock Off

    Thunderbolt/Flamethrower/Happy Hour

    Item: Normalium Z/No Item

    Ability: Contrary

Note: Would be Water type maybe

    Welp, I'm done.

One day Cryogonal will be really buffed. I will sneak into Game Freak and leave a note that says:

Buff Cryogonal to have 999 BST before doing anything else!

Then my Cryogonal sign will laugh in the face of my pitiful enemies...

Thanks! My computer that can run games takes forever and a day to turn on, so It'll be a couple minutes before I can check it out!

Hold on.... So I clicked on Game.rxdata (The one you sent back to me) And it downloaded my file. But how do you put it into Spork? Only my old file is in there now.

Edit: I put In the new file (It didn't appear at first) and it still showed the error.

Okay, here's your save file. I saved at Aliora Meadows. I'm also confused on how Pokemon cries are related to Flareon and music. I'm not sure if anything I did fixed it but hopefully we've seen the last of the error.

I spent some time walking around Aliora and the gym, talking to NPCs, battling wild Pokemon and Aretha, but I didn't come across any errors.

If there's anything else you'd like to test or think could have been causing it, please let me know and I'll see if it happens to me on your file.

P.S. the space colony thing reminded me of a dream my sister had where Ame told her that Earth was under watch/attack, and was hidden from view by satellite dishes. Ame demonstrated by removing a satellite dish, making Earth visible to the attackers and the attackers visible to Earth. Then Ame put the satellite dish back before anything could happen.

Alright. I'm about to go check it out, but I have no clue what's wrong. Maybe It's because I didn't learn my lesson and thought I would be OK to edit the game again. I did exactly this:

1: Copied the Rival music from Reborn

2: Went into Spork's audio/BGM folder and pasted the music

3: Renamed Battle-Gym Leader to Battle-Gym Leader old

    4: Renamed Battle-Rival to Battle-Gym Leader

5: Played Spork and Battled Aretha. The Music was the same as the Gym music. But before the Gym music looped again, It played the Gym Leader theme instead.

6: Lost to Aretha and saved and quit Spork

7: Played Spork and got the error

Could you send me my save back? Maybe you did something to fix it. But before you send it back, put my character in Alioria MEADOWS. Maybe that fixes it? This error seems to be pretty random because Flareon and Music have nothing to do with Pokemon cries.

    Thanks!

Resources: If you're looking to use tilesets, move animations, scripts, and things like that, I don't think anyone would mind. Most of what I use in those departments that isn't in default Essentials are borrowed from tutorials, Reborn, and Rejuvenation. Ame and Jan allow people to use those kinds of resources as long as credit is given.

The only thing I can think of that I wouldn't want people to use is the character sprites, as Palletite and Punkeev/Steffi made those for Spork specifically.

As for the fangame idea: after I read your post, I discussed this with Jan in the Rejuv development discord channel. Jan said that he didn't really want to be inserted into another game and that the Jan NPC in Rejuvenation is a stretch as is.

I haven't brought it up to Ame, as she's asleep right now, but I know her feelings on her self-insert in Reborn are similar. She's mentioned that she never wanted to put herself in Reborn in the first place, and only did so because she needed someone to fulfill the professor role.

I don't have any regret or negative feelings about my own self-insert...I like her, actually. And while I wouldn't have any issues with Spork being referenced in some small way, I'd have some concerns about being included directly.

I'm not really sure what kind of world your fangame is set in, but Spork's universe doesn't follow Earth's logic, and sometimes doesn't even completely follow the canon games' logic. A lot of aspects of Spork, such as death not existing, are based on my own spiritual beliefs. I believe that Earth is a simulation and that our real planet, Cerri, is where we were born and where we'll return to. Some people (but not everyone) are sent to Earth for reasons like helping others and needing help ourselves. I don't know why Earth even needs to exist in the first place or why we can't just do this back home, since Cerri definitely isn't a perfect place and there are people who need help there too. But Spork follows Cerri's logic, which is different from Earth's in many ways. So direct inclusion of Spork elements in another fangame might be inconsistent with how Spork works, unless the other fangame has the same kind of universe.

One example already exists in this sentence: "I have a plan to make the three agents of the evil team the creators of Spork, Reborn, and Rejuvination." I'm not sure what kind of activities or goal your villains have, but the concept of evil doesn't exist on Cerri. People on Cerri do have a sense of right and wrong, but no one is seen as evil. As an example, the Rogues are an organization from Cerri that want to brainwash people (I'm not sure if literally or metaphorically though), and they're a massive threat that needs to be stopped. But they're doing it because they genuinely want to make Cerri a better place, and they see forcefully pushing people towards that direction as the only way.  They think they know what's best for everyone. They're like overprotective parents that love their children and want the best for them, but don't trust their children enough to give them privacy or permission to make their own decisions.

I know this isn't the answer you were hoping to hear, and I apologize if it's upsetting. But I wish you the best of luck with your fangame, and I hope you succeed even if it takes on a different direction than what you were planning.

Ok. That's fine. I'm sure I can find someone else to take the roles of those characters. Actually, I have some back-ups right now! But I have some more things to say:

1: My game is not set in a way similar to Spork. It does take place on earth, and it is quite different from Spork and Reborn, my two inspirations for the game.

2: The Evil Team is just evil. They plan to make a colony in space and leave Earth to be destroyed. If this was OK with you for including a self-insert, I probably still wouldn't do it anyway because I'm horrible at making sprites and I don't think my own ICSW sprite would be as good as the one in Spork. But like I said, I have replacements, so it should all work out.

Thank you for taking your time to message me about this, but I have one more thing that I need help with...

I got the line 78 error AGAIN in Spork. I think it must have something to do with Aretha's Gym or Aliora City in general. Because I got the SAME error in the SAME spot. I don't want my adventure to end here again, so any suggestions?

The Mega Ring is obtained as part of the story between the 15th and 16th gyms.

Ok thanks. Also, I’m making my own Pokémon Fangame and I was wondering if I could use some resources from Spork (With credit of course) I have a plan to make the three agents of the evil team the creators of Spork, Reborn, and Rejuvination.

  7. What is your favorite generation of Pokemon? This is my list of my least favorite to my favorite.

(Only including main series games or remakes)

    7. Gen 1

My god, was Gen 1 boring. I know many praise it for being the first game, but REALLY? The evil team is SO lame. They appear out of nowhere and don't even really have a plan. They're evil. They want to steal money and Pokemon. That's incredibly dull when you consider the other plotlines of the other teams. And the Pokemon? Well, I can't argue there. Me and my sister are big fans of Squirtle and Gengar, and there's also Moltres, Charmander, Eevee, Dragonite, Omastar and more. The only redeeming traits I see with Gen 1 is that some Pokemon are pretty cool and that it paved the way for games that were a heck of a lot better than itself.

    6. Gen 7

It was hard picking between Gen 1 and Gen 7. I was leaning towards putting Gen 1 at this spot since it actually had gyms, but I realized that wouldn't really work. After all, Gen 7 DOES bring some stuff to the table, such as cool new Pokemon and trials (Even though trials are stupid. I hate them and whoever thought it was a good idea to put them in the game should be fired.) Anyways, let's start with Team Skull. Basically a funnier Team Rocket. They had good dialogue and Guzma showed everyone that bug types could wreck the competition. However, I still found them unintimidating and boring. There were some nice Pokemon that came in, but the reason I HAAAAAAAAAAAAAAATE Gen 7 lies in this fact: There is now freaking Gyms. I Loved Gyms. They were creative, challenging, and provided a fun experience overall. And then they got replaced with trials. You fight a Strong Pokemon and get a Z-Crystal (Which is Gen 7's Mega Evolution, Basically.) ALSO, They disregarded Mega Evolution entirely this time. Z-Moves were the big thing, but who wants ONE extra-strong move when you can have a cool new Pokemon for the whole battle? Overall, Gen 7 left a bad taste in my mouth, and with Let's Go Pikachu/Eevee coming out, I don't think that will be changing anytime soon.

    5. Gen 2

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAWN. I don't even want to review Gen 2. It's basically a better, slightly less boring Gen 1...

    4. Gen 3

Gen 3 Is wonderful. It provides many new features and cool new Pokemon. What else is there to say? Gen 3 rocks. It's fun to play, but is outclassed by...

    3. Gen 6

Many look down on Gen 6 due to It's easy nature. While I don't like the low challenge level, Pokemon Spork showed me that a game does NOT by any means have to be difficult to be good. Gen 6 was my first Pokemon game, and I think that's why I love it so much. Team Flare was basically Team Galactic, reborn. They were incredibly similar (but Team Galactic was cooler) and Lysandre even had 2 of his Pokemon be the exact same as Cyrus. (Honchkrow and Gyarados.) But even though Team Flare piggybacks on Team Galactic, there aren't the reason I love Gen 6 so much. There are three things that will always bring me back to X and Y: The Pokemon, Mega Evolution, Music, and did I mention Music? Yes, although there weren't many new Pokemon in Gen 6, what was there was pretty good. Me and my sisters make Bunnelby jokes ALL the time, and these are just some of my favorites in Gen 6: Greninja, Yveltal, Dragalge, Meowstic, Aegislash, Aegislash, Aegislash, Noivern, and did I mention Aegislash? And Mega Evolution. It's amazing. Megas are downright cool, and that's a fact. And the music. OH MY GOD THE MUSIC... It's amazing. I like Lysandre's theme, The XY Pokemon theme, RIval theme, Champion theme, and more. Gen 6 really got it right with music.

    2. Gen 4

I love Gen 4. It's jam-packed with excitement. And I'd love to say more.... but I'm saving my time for this last one...

    1.Gen 5

Gen 5 is so good. You can tell me anything, but I will not change my mind. Many hate Gen 5, but WHY?! Because of the "Dumb" Pokemon designs? I LOVE Vanilluxe and Klinklang, personally, but the others aren't bad either. The ONLY Gen 5 Pokemon I dislike is Garbodor. Not Trubbish. Not Basculin. Nope. And even if nobody in the world liked the object Pokemon, who overlooks Serperior, Dewott, Volcarona, Genesect, Galvantula, Reshiram, Cobalion, Keldeo, Meloetta, Hydreigon, Haxorus and the list just keeps going! Gen 5 has the ULTIMATE package. If Black and White weren't enough, you can play Black and White 2. And they are the definition of good remakes. I LOVE them. I still enjoy the originals more. And Team Plasma. We've had terrorists and criminals, and now we face PETA in their coolest form...

    Robes with eyes on them!!!!!!!!!!!!

Also, I freakin' love Cryogonal. No that was not a typo CRYOGONAL. It's good. If you say otherwise, Watch the Mine Song from Lazytown and catch yourself a Cryogonal sign today.

Also, Spork and Reborn are even better than Gen 5. LOL

Seriously though, official Pokemon games are pretty lame compared to Fangames. That's why they get taken down because Game Freak is jealous that there is a free Pokemon game that's better than their 40 dollar Not as good Pokemon Game. Fangame Creators aren't corporate companies, so they know what people want in a Fangame. People like following Pokemon, Easy ways to view IVs and EVs (Whatever the heck those are. I just catch Pokemon I like. I think IVs and EVs and stuff are DUMB), and all Pokemon being obtainable in a single game. That's why I mostly play Fangames now. They make Gen 5 look bad. And That's saying something.

The Google Drive link is now up! Since it was faster both with downloading and extracting for me, I put it above mediafire in the download links in the first post. Tagging @Princess Titania since you were waiting for this. Thanks to Punkeev/Steffi for putting together this link!

Oh boy! Thanks for that! I am busy shiny hunting in Pokémon X right now so I’ll be downloading it tomorrow!

@Princess Titania I just noticed the edit to your post. I read your post before you edited it so I didn't see the edit until just now. Line 197 in PokeBattle_Trainer:

    image.png.fb14e3334941a230e9f388c40b0ee468.png

this seems to have something to do with Pokedex entries; but again I'm not sure how it's connected to editing Flareon.

The only suggestion I could give would be to redownload and not to alter anything in the PBS files to avoid these errors. Although for redownloading I know you mentioned concern about mediafire, so it may be best to wait for Punkeev/Steffi's alternate google drive link if google drive is able to host a link for the game.

I'm sorry that I couldn't be of more help.

Thank you for your time. I'll just wait until Spork comes out on a different platform, and then I'll get Version 7.

    Thanks Anyway!

Did you by any chance change flareon's name?

No but I’m going to change Flareon back to the way it was before. I feel like Earthquake messed something up since Flareon can’t learn earthquake.

    UPDATE:

I deleted line 78 of the intro, and the error didn't pop up. Instead I got one about line 197 in PokeBattle Trainer. If this can't be fixed, that's OK. I'm busy with a game of my own, so I don't have much time to play other games.

Are you able to find the whole error message in errorlog and copy/paste it here? If it's the most recent error you've experienced then it should be at the end of the document. I need more specifics in order to see if I can understand the error and why it happened.

I can't actually find the errorlog, but I wrote down exactly what the error says:

Script 'Scene_Intro' line 78 NameError occurred uninitialized constant IntroEventScene::PBSpecies

I assume this is something with the intro, because it says press enter twice and then I get the error.

It seems like what happened is that I accidentally edited Ledyba's learnset instead of Noctowl's orz

I probably will have to reupload after all so that people who have Ledyba don't have a completely different Pokemon's moveset...I'll do that later, but in the meantime, this file should fix the issue. There's a folder in the game folder called PBS; place this file inside of it and when asked if you want to replace the current one say yes. This will save you the time of having to download and extract the game again once I reupload too. (the file will show up at the end of this post; attachments are always at the end of posts regardless of where you're typing when you upload them)

How did you edit Flareon? Was it through the pokemon.txt PBS file?

And do you remember anything about what the error said? (if not, you should still be able to find it in C drive -> Users -> your PC name -> Saved Games -> Pokemon Spork -> errorlog)

The cutscene with the cake will automatically happen after you've talked to everyone at the party.

    pokemon.txt

I edited Flareon through Pokemon.txt and the error said that it was a script scene error

    Hmmm

Understandable; I can look into providing an alternative Google Drive download and pass the information to Ice Cream Sand Witch.

As for the time being, I can only suggest using AdBlock when downloading on Mediafire.

Alright thanks but I have one other question. I was playing Spork earlier and I got an intro script error or something like that when I started it. I don't know why. I had edited Flareon so that it learns Flare Blitz at Level 32 And Earthquake at Level 45. I started the game, turned it off, then loaded it up again and i got the error.

  14. I just downloaded 4.5 a few weeks ago and I must say that Spork is a great game. I only have one problem, and that's how you download it. See, I downloaded 4.5 when I had a free trial of a virus protection program. That trial is now gone, and I don't want to download Version 7 and get a virus. I hate downloading any sort of content from MediaFire because there's always that risk. I'm going to finish Episode 4.5, and then I'll worry about getting Version 7. Sorry If this is too much to ask (I've never actually made anything that you can download) but would it be possible to make Spork available on Google Drive or something? That would make me feel a lot better about downloading Version 7.
