  1. Hello, everyone! I'm trying to start a High School DxD club here on the forums, and I'm looking for potential members.

As some of you may know, clubs can only be approved if at least five people are willing to join. If you'd like to join the club, please notify me!

    That's all, have a nice day 🙂

    srry but i didnt

Good news! I just solved my problem and yours. If you look in the "Saved games" folder on your computer, there should be a folder for all of your Rejuvenation saves. If you delete the one that says "Game", and rename and older save "Game", you can go back and (If you save often) shouldn't have missed too much.

    Good luck!

it seems to be a wider issue of game not allowing you to do much except soft reset, change speed and quicksave, everything else doesnt work. it happend to me two but when i went to valor mountin b1

I guess that means It's a common issue, then 😞

Did you find a way to fix it?

  4. When I started the Rift Galvantula event, the game softlocked. The event went fine, until the scene where you partner with Ren/Venam and fight the Galvantula. Everything was moving, but nothing happened. To clarify, the game let me change the speed, quicksave, soft reset, just not move. I waited patiently for while, but everything stayed the same.

Am I missing something, or is this a bug?

  5. Hey everyone! I took a break for a little bit, but I'll get back to Pokemon Rehabilitation v3 when I get home. I'm in Ohio right now and don't have access to my computer with Pokemon Essentials on it.

v3 is going to include one of the "big cities" of the region, as well as some more routes and zones. It'll be bigger than v2, which reminds me...

    Thanks for playing!

if we have to start over do we still get schiggy

Thanks for bringing that up. I thought I'd be better to make Schiggy available to all, instead of being event-locked. He has some new counterparts, in Hitokage (Charmander) and Bulbizarre (Bulbasaur). I wasn't done programming them, and they'll go along better with a planned sidequest in v3.

But mark my words, that blue fool WILL be in the game.

Also, if I manage to move my pictures from my phone to my computer, I can show everyone what Schiggy looks like in real life. It's... over the top.

  7. Hey, everyone! It's been a little bit since Pokemon Rehabilitation released, and now It's time for version 2!

Just like last time, I'll split up all of the information.

    1: General Info

Many new features and stuff have arrived for v2. This includes:

Vastly superior game speed (By Pia Carrot)

    Better Main character visuals

    Team Ace actually doing something

    Custom tiles

A Pokedex that doesn't crash the game

    And more!

2: Precautions for playing the game

Rehab has lots of flashing effects, so do not play if you have epilepsy or seizures!

You may want to make a new save file. If you continue from an existing game, attempting to open the Pokedex will crash the game.

    3: Known Bugs

If you're not on small screen size, the flashing effects only cover a fourth of the screen.

Part of the trees on one of the new maps can be walked through. I tried to fix this, but it didn't work. Hopefully this'll be corrected in v3 or beyond.

The improved game speed will not activate until you have beaten the first gym.

I hope you have fun with v2! Please report any bugs/errors/feedback as it will help improve future versions of the game.

  8. Well, it happened. Near universal distaste for something about Pokemon. You know what I'm talking about, but in case you don't...

    Spoiler

Pokemon not in the Galar regional dex can not be moved to Pokemon Sword and Shield, and there are also no Megas or Z-moves in said games.

I'll start by saying that I'm 100% against this, but technical reasons somewhat justify the decision. A little.

As a beginner developer, I've learned quite a few technical details from research and practice. My game, Pokemon Rehabilitation, took a long time to make because there were lots of different areas I needed to work on. Game Freak seems to have added a lot of new features to Sword and Shield, so that part I understand.

But in the midst of these features, they neglected old ones. Beloved old ones. Mega Evolution and Z-moves added so much flavor to battles and the story, and you're telling me they're GONE? Even the watered-down LGPE had Megas. Dynamaxing is fine, but shouldn't we have the option to use other power-heightening techniques?

There's also the Pokedex debacle. And although It's been heavily criticized, there's some hope. And to see that hope, you'll need to look around multiple sources.

Think: When there's a new regional Pokedex, are previous-gen starters/legendaries/mythicals in it? Usually, no. But the latest Pokemon direct showed Leon with a Charizard, and Pokemon has stated that Mew can be transferred from new Pokeball Pluses. Charizard and Mew both fall into the category I just said the regional dexes don't have. I feel like the restriction to the Galar dex is just to stop Pokemon that are TOO different for Sword and Shield, like Alolan forms or Pokemon that were essential to their specific games before SwSh.

And one more thing: The 3d Pokemon models were reused for Gen 7, GO, LGPE, and other post-Gen 6 spinoffs. So 800+ old Pokemon animations are only an issue for these two things:

    1: New MOVE animations

    2: Dynamaxing animations

So that about wraps up my rant. I hope that Game Freak changes their decision about this whole thing, or at least makes the Galar dex REALLY big. But until we know more, all we can do is imagine.

Some concerns I have of the game, sectioned below in spoilers for organization...

    Graphics

      Reveal hidden contents

A lot of the sprites don't translate well in game. The male over world sprite, and the female battle sprite stand out to me in particular, but there's also a few sprites from the game files that I find concerning. A few suggestions on how to fix these with an example below...

-Don't just use graphicsgale if you're going to recolor sprites. Try MS paint too.

--GraphicsGale is good because it's free and Ame has a series of tutorials with the program. It's easier to manually do some areas with MS paint. Here's a brief tutorial I found on MS Paint. Owning a drawing tablet can help out a lot with MS paint. The body erase one is very helpful because that's actually how a lot of sprites for gym leaders are made for reborn.

    -Use a color guide

--It's really easy to go overboard with colors. There are many examples of artists using four or five colors in a work, but they still have an understanding of colors to make them look visually appealing. In the sprite below you have red and green as the main two colors, and they both feature very heavily. I would tone down either the reds or the greens here and de-saturate the green. A lot of colors you use are really saturated which does't look pleasant with other pure colors.  I suggest muting the tones a little. Especially on over world sprites, because the white lines on the boy trainer sprite stand out horribly.

Now, I've never actually made sprites before but this is a darker color scheme for this trainer sprite. I would recommend keeping it simpler, since a lot of detail will be lost on the small window screen anyway.

    Gameplay

      Reveal hidden contents

-The starting selection of wild Pokemon is really nice. Unfortunately there aren't enough resources to actually enjoy the availability of Pokemon you normally don't find until later in the main games, like tangela.

-It doesn't seem to be using gen 6 mechanics/data. Like the move sets for some Pokemon are set for gen 5. So Pokemon like torchic, mudkip, and treecko won't have the ember, water gun, and vine whip they were given in ORAS

-Use smaller maps. There's little reason for the maps to be so big, and moving around on long maps is tedious without faster ways to go back and forth between areas. Wihtout cheating and increasing the speed even going back to the pokemon center is a miserable affair. Tip: if you can't see anything other than grass or sand tiles in the middle/ walking through a part of the map. It's too big and doesn't have enough landmarks.

-The weather system. I have no clue why it would be hailing in a seemingly flowery, temperate area but it seems to generate almost randomly.

    Story

      Reveal hidden contents

-An editor would be really helpful

-- there's a lot of lines from single characters that could be made more concise.

-- a few characters sound the same, and making them sound different would make them more memorable in the long run.

-Story wise, there's many moments where it would make more sense to demonstrate something than to tell it.

--For example, while I normally don't recommend immediately throwing players into an unwinnable/difficult battle, it would actually establish team Ace as an organization with a lot of powerful trainers if Victoria had one Pokemon one or two levels than you or more Pokemon around the level of you (or the same level as the mons in the area). Alternatively, if you beat her it would show how she's mostly just talk.

-- It would also make more sense than Tate battling you. Especially because the situation was supposed to be urgent, but it comes off as not urgent enough for a battle.

That's everything that immediately stands out to me. Otherwise it wasn't too bad or too difficult other than managing resources like money and potions.

Edit, about my comment on landmarks: This is perfectly fine

I can see where I am and where I need to go. Standing in a screen of grass, however, is really bad map design.

I see where you're going with all of this. But there are good reasons for all this seemingly bad game design. First up...

The sprites ARE kind of sloppy. They'll get fixed along the way, but for now they're going to be so-so. Except for the player sprites. Those are the most important. Although the shades of most battle sprites look super bright, I kind of like it. Making them darker would look better, but they'd lose the vibrant charm they once had.

    Second, Gameplay.

I really wanted the Pokemon to have updated USUM data, but there was a massive problem. The data that I usually copy and paste to save time does not have the "Shape" information. If you didn't know, Pokemon Essentials uses a specific format for Pokemon data, and in v17 (The newest version), the "Shape" information is required. I'll go bit by bit on fixing this old data issue, because adding a line that says, "SHAPE=(insert number)" would take ages to do 809 times, even if it was copy and pasted.

As for the snow in a grassy area argument, that'll be explained later in the game.

    Lastly, Story.

Battling Tate is indeed very out of place. She didn't really fit anywhere else in v1, but she's going to be a major character, so I couldn't just wait until v2 to introduce her. Also, the dialogue is a little repetitive. Kind of like how I'm being right now 🙂

    Thanks for the feedback!
